Viperfang shook her head. "When I first got here there was another scent of cat mingled with that of the kits. I think this guy's guardian went out to hunt for them both. But I don't feel right leaving the kit alone, another fox might come. If the male showed up he was obviously expecting a female to be here as well, I don't want the kit alone if another fox comes along." she meowed.

Blazestar narrowed his eyes at Scarletpaw. "I do not remember asking for your opinion on this matter. You have been rude and disrespectful to not only Mossmoth, but Canarysong as well. And now your leader. Go out and fetch catmint for Canarysong or I'll have you taken off apprentice duties for two moons."

I stuck my tongue out, "Well I'm giving you my opinion no matter what you ask for. Its my mouth and I'll say what I like, thanks." With that I started to head out the cave for the catmint, trying to not show how much I loathed the rain.

"I could take the kit back to camp where he'll be safe for now, and you two could wait until whoever is taking care of him comes back, and Shadowberry can show them to the camp." I suggested.

I picked the kit up by the scruff, "Okay, if its Moon high and they still have not come just leave." I mumbled around the kits fur. Then in a bolt I started to head back over to the camp. When I got to camp I put the kit down lightly and shook out my fur. "Blazestar!" I called, "I need to speak too you..." I meowed, my voice trailed off as I saw Mossmoth's body in the middle of camp. I moved my eyes away. /I need to explain to Blazestar why this kit is here right now./

As I gathered catmint I hissed, the catmint was soaked but still some-what useable, out of anger, once I was done picking all the catmint, I soaked it all in the stream. /It won't be any good after this!/ I thought, shivering from the rain. I happily trotted back to camp.

Shadowberry watched Waspclaw bolt off, and then laid down. She closed her eyes, but her ears were pricked for any sign of movement from Wolfkit's mother.

He yawned, arching his back as he stretched. Stormfur blinked, adjusting to the darkness off the cave. /Where'd every cat go? Meh, I guess I'll just go find them..../

He let another enormous yawn, and awkwardly hobbled out the cave.

Entering the camp, I dropped the catmint in front of the medicine cats, "Sorry," I meowed innocently, "But the catmint just got to wet in the rain to be of much use, but I brought it anyway."

She narrowed her eyes at Scarletpaw suscipiously. "Thank you. Please go set them in front of my den so they can dry." Canarysong said softly. "I do hope you will be more CAREFUL next time!"

Canarysong wasn't stupid. She knew that Scarletpaw had got the catmint wet intentionally, and she also knew she was going to pay for it.

He stared, shocked at the sight of mourning cats gathered around Mossmoth's body. /I was positive she was going to pull through..../ he thought numbly as he limped to the fresh-kill pile. /Waspclaw must be devastated.../

"Yeah, it is actually," she muttered, but loud enough for Scarletpaw to hear.

He quickly grabbed a mouse from the pile, and laid down a respectable distance from Mossmoth's body. Stormfur made sure to eat neatly, instead of his usual messy ways.

The tom saw his sister and Scarletpaw exchanging remarks. Scarletpaw had an almost smug look on her face, while Canarysong was giving her a look Stormfur couldn't read. /I wonder what's up with them..../ he thought uneasily.

Stormfur also noticed that Waspclaw was standing in the middle of camp with an unrecognizable kit sitting next to him. /I wonder where that kit came from?/

Viperfang watched as Waspclaw took the kit away. She sighed and looked to Shadowberry. "At it seems I'm no longer needed to be here I guess I'll be taking my leave now. Good luck explaining to the kits guardians what happened to him." she meowed before turning to leave.

Blazestar headed over towards Waspclaw as the deputy called him. "What is it?" he asked.

Stormfur scooted a little closer to where Waspclaw and Blazestar were standing. He parented he was nonchalantly munching on his mouse, when really he was straining his ears to hear their conversation.

I don't care what Blazestar thinks about her!/ "and Viperfang had to fight off a fox from attacking the kit. We feared another fox may come by, so I brought him here, and Shadowberry is going to tell his mother where he is and lead her back to camp to pick up her kit." I meowed.

I gasped, hearing what Waspclaw was saying, "You working with that flea-ridden traitor Viperfang?" I hissed, wrinkling my nose. "That fox-dung does not even deserve to keep her warrior name after what she did!"

He growled slightly at Scarletpaw's harsh words. /Viperfang usn't a traitor! No matter what the evidence is, I know she's innocent!/ he thought.

Stormfur finished with his mouse, and buried the bones.

{Canarysong}
She sat beside Mossmoth's body with her head bowed, ignoring all the other cats. "Really, so much talk at a burial!" she said bitterly.

Blazestar nodded. "You were cautious in rogue territory other than that though?" he asked, flinching slightly at mention of Viperfang helping them.
He looked down at the kit before turning to Canarysong.

Viperfang turned around. "What you don't want to be alone when the kits guardian shows back up?" she asked.

She opened both her eyes, and shrugged. "Partly because I forgot you weren't part of the Clan, and saw it as abandoning your clanmate. And partly because I really don't feel like fighting again if the mother freaks out."

Canarysong tried to avoid eye-contact with Waspclaw, knowing he'd still probably be mad with her. But she did look at the kit. /I wonder who he is.../

{Stormfur}
He hurriedly cleaned himself up, and trotted over to where Blazestar, Waspclaw, and the kit were standing. "What's going on?" he asked curiously.

I was annoyed when Waspclaw did not even react to my distaste for Viperfang, I walked up and sniffed him, recoiling back. "That traitors scent is still on you. You'll have to go back out in the rain before the stench of her fills the cave." I hissed. Really, I could not smell her on his pelt, the rain would have washed off any scent of her already. Waspclaw simply raised his paw and made a 'shoo' motion to me with it. He wasn't even looking at me! /I don't care if your foster mother just died! Pay attention!/ "Hey, stop being rude and look at me when I talk to you!" I snarled.

Blazestar looked over at Scarletpaw as she lashed out at Waspclaw. "Scarletpaw, go to the apprentices den. You are not to leave until tomorrow." he snapped at the apprentice.

Viperfang looked at Shadowberry she shrugged before taking up a small residence in a tree. "Alright. And I mean I guess I do owe you for helping out with the fox." she said as she got comfortable.

She growled. "This can not go on! I have to do something about Scarletpaw and Flamepelt. And soon...."

Viperfang shrugged as she closed her eyes against the rain. The branches on the tree helped shield her from the down pour somewhat, but she'd prefer the shelter of her den better.

Blazestar watched as Scarletpaw went to the apprentices den. /I'll have to suspend her training for two moons if she keeps up with that attitude.\ he thought before joining Canarysong in vigil for Mossmoth.

"I appreciate you trying to make me feel better, but you know as well as I that if I just checked up on her sooner, Mossmoth wouldn't 't have died." She sighed, and her ears drooped, but they went straight up again when an idea few into her head. "That reminds me...."

Canarysong delicately got to her paws, and went around the huddle of mourning cats, seeing if anyone had greencough.

Leaving the kit with Stormfur, I went to Mossmoth's body to mourn.

{Scarletpaw}
I hissed. /I've got to get out of this den!/ I looked outside. Cat where gathered together, sharing grief for the lost of Mossmoth. I looked inside my den, my nest being the only one inside it. I felt something of loneliness, but I shook it off as if it where a flea. /Where am I going to go anyway? Its raining outside./ I thought. That reminded me of how soaked I was. I shivered. It being almost leaf-bare did not help at all. /I guess Canarysong would not be willing to give me some extra moss to dry off with.../ I laid down in my nest, soaked and cold. I tried not to look around the den, it made me feel so tiny because of all the empty space.
