Hibiscus slammed against the ground, defeated. She couldn't work up the energy to get up or put out the embers that were crackling on her ashen petals.

"My children..." choked Lucille, "Please... We don't need any help." She struggled to her feet and attacked Shae, trying her best not to hurt her too badly. Despite how much she wanted them to be independent, she still didn't want to hurt the Pokémon she had grown so fond of.

"H-Hibiscus!" Acacia sobbed, and ran over to Hibiscus, she curled around her shallowly breathing body. The flames soon engulfed Acacia, too, but it didn't seem like she cared. She didn't care what Lucille had to say. She didn't care about anything. All she wanted was for her to be safe.

Lucille dodged Sparklecore, Nepgear, Remilia, and Flandre's attacks nimbly. She mostly stopped her attacks, but kept feigning a fighting spirit by faking attacks and purposefully missing them. She didn't want to hurt anyone, deep down, but she kept up a fight in the quarry's dark chamber.

they all stopped for a minute. cole kept using weak attacks on lucille and running around all of them crazily.

Lucille stood warningly in front of BC, as if to say I have this under control, little one. You don't need to fight. She had a pained expression on her face, but remained steadfast. She emitted a low, grieving growl from her mandibles, and held up her scythes. She knew if she was attacked one more time, she would be defeated, and she was fully ready for that option.

rocky used leer, which was a better leer than just about anyone. mason started kicking cosina easily, and the others charged up range attacks.

Lucille closed her eyes, preparing for the worst. Her defenses were already lowered, so the next attack was definitely going to defeat her, or worse.

"My child..." she coughed, "If you are DETERMINED enough to pass... You won't let anything to stay in your way. Even me."

Lucille gasped as she was hit. She stumbled backwards, and stood weakly against a wall.

"Y... You... really hate me that much? N-now... Now I see who I was protecting by keeping you by my s-side..." she lamented, "Not you... But them! The Pokemon in the Mystery Dungeons! My teammates! You..."

She crumpled to the ground, clutching her wounds.

"Ha... Ha..." she laughed, choking out her last words. "I'm sorry, my c-child... You may proceed. Enjoy... Enjoy your treasure, little one. I hope.. You are h.. happy..." She collapsed on the rocky earth, dead.

Sparklecore:
"No way that's happening!!"


He used Mirror Coat on the combo, sending it back towards BC, Toby, and Cosina.

Nepgear:
"Here's some payback!"

Sparklecore and Nepgear combo attacked BC, Toby and Cosina. Nepgear used Moonblast and then smashed it with her ribbons, turning the move into a pink beam. Sparklecore used Psyshock then kicked it at BC. The two moves collided, making it combine.

Hibiscus opened her eyes to see Acacia hugging her tightly, and sobbing.

"A-Acacia..." she stammered, "What happened?" She dusted off the ash from her petals and stood up, returning Acacia's gratitude. Acacia didn't speak, and neither did Hibiscus when she saw what happened to Lucille.

She was utterly destroyed. Her best friend was gone, and all she had left was Acacia, who was too distraught to speak.

"That does it." snapped Cosina. "Someone died. BC, you try to heal them, we'll take care of this." I nodded gravely. I dragged Lucille's body to behind a rock, while Toby went inside his shell and Cosina leaped up to dodge. Then they mixed up some poisonous high-pressure water and sprayed it around.

(I mean a Gastro Acidic Hydro Pump)

Sparklecore:
"Well, let's get movin'!"

Remilia flew over.

Remilia:
"This is stupid. I'm gonna go back home. Let's go, Flandre."

Flandre nodded and the two of them ran out and flew back towards the mansion.

I sighed. Lucille's heart had started beating again. Toby and Cosina continued to spray Gastro Acidic Hydro Pumps at Team Universe, albeit without the Thunderbolt part.

they stopped battling. cole was just about crying. he thought it was his fault for lucille's death. he curled up in a ball.

shae walked over. she couldnt stand when children cried, but she knew his feelings because they all felt it.

shae wrapped her tails around him.

shae:

"its ok. it wasnt your fault."

cole looked up at her with puppy eyes.

cole:

"yes it was! i killed her!" he said, still sobbing. he hid his face into his tail again.

in a situation where they killed an oponent means that they are very strong, and they would triumph over victory. but in this case, they killed one of their friends, so cole started balling.

soon, all of team universe noticed. even rocky felt some sympathy for everyone. but he didnt start crying.

Hibiscus stumbled over to Lucille. It didn't seem like she was breathing.

"I'm sorry." she said, "Lucille... She... She didn't actually want the treasure at all." She looked down. "The treasure... It was a Time Gear."

Acacia nodded, wiping the tears from her cheeks. "We..." she continued, "Team Verdant... We're a team set up to protect them. Protect the Time Gears. It was our solemn duty. That Bellossom we encountered was right, there is no real treasure."

"We thought..." Hibiscus whispered, "That you were going to steal it. There has been a recent outbreak of stolen Time Gears, and because you now know the location of two of them... We were going to get rid of you for good."

"But now that Lucille... O-our leader..." Acacia said, "Is, well, gone... Hibiscus and I don't want to fight any more. Can we trust you not to take it?"

"...All three of us..." Hibiscus said, fidgeting, "We're Pokemon from the future. Because of the instability of time, her body will likely just disappear back into the future."

"In the distant future, the time gears... Well, they've been corrupted, and now time has stopped entirely." Acacia continued, "This is what's known as the Planet's Paralysis. By stopping anyone from tampering with the Time Gears... Maybe we can prevent that bleak future from happening." Hibiscus nodded.

shae walked over and sat down next to lucille. she made sure to avoid her madnibles and started a CPR, but made sure it wasnt to hard because she knew that you needed to be more gentle with females, pets and children.

"Any hope?" I asked. I also got some Oran Berries and gave them to Lucille. "And don't worry aboot hurting her," I added. "In the first aid book, it says that the most important thing is to restart respiration."
