"She's my girlfriend..." he said. "Or at least I think she still is... I don't know... like I said, she's been acting really strange..."Her words mirrored exactly what he'd been thinking... She was like Vladan... a whole lot less arrogant, with her cold demeanor, but she was cruel... quick to act out in violence..."In all the many years I've known her... She's never acted the way she has lately... She was a hothead, yes... But now she's just... I don't know..." he said. "This isn't her... it's not normal..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 15 December 2016 at 8:13 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~Willow shrugged. "That's weird." She said, cupping her chin thoughtfully with her thumb and forefinger. "Did anything happen in uh..." The woman trailed off, releasing her chin and using her fingers to tuck her hair behind her ear. "Antarctica? Russia?" She was unsure of where they had gone. "Where ever you guys went."Suddenly, she perked up. "Girlfriend?" Willow said with a surprised gasp. "I didn't know she was with anybody. If anything, I thought her and Vladan might have had something going on..." She tilted her head to the right thoughtfully. "I'm glad you're here though. A rat like Veitkov doesn't deserve a woman like that."
dada_dragon • 15 December 2016 at 8:42 PM
"I was... um... in jail... until recently." He said awkwardly. He always felt weird about saying that. It was hard to tell how people would react. He flinched a little when she said that she thought Kita was with Vladan."It was Russia. And I don't know... She seemed fine before I left... A little distant, but definitely not like this..." he said thoughtfully. "She was unconscious when she showed up at the compound... long story there... and when she woke up she was... like that..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 15 December 2016 at 9:03 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~Willow seemed utterly surprised at James's words. "Really?!" She said with wide eyes. "I couldn't tell..." The woman trailed off thoughtfully. "It's a shame a man like you could get put away in a place like that." She said. "Did anything else happen?" The woman said wonderingly. "Maybe I could talk to her. I mean, we aren't close, but maybe I could approach her about things." She clapped her hands together in glee."I actually was going to ask her if she wanted to go out for coffee but.." She trailed off as she glanced at the time. "It's a little late for that, maybe dinner and a drink or two. I'm free the entire day...the entire week actually."
dada_dragon • 15 December 2016 at 9:20 PM
"I was involved in some illegal activities... So it's not like it was unwarranted, but I'm not exactly proud of it...""If you could talk to her though, that'd be great... I dunno... Maybe she'll open up to you..." he said. "It certainly can't be any worse..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 15 December 2016 at 9:25 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"Of course!" Willow said sincerely. "I'll let you know how it goes." The woman paused, absentmindedly playing with the ends of her hair as she did so. Willow stared down at the ground, examining the intricate white designs on the floor. "About Vladan..." She hesitated, before puffing out her cheeks and looking up at James."How has he been holding up?" She asked. "I haven't seen him since uh..." Willow cleared her throat. "Never mind that, but I am curious on how he's been doing."
dada_dragon • 15 December 2016 at 9:45 PM
"I dunno... it fluctuates really... most of the time, he's his usual bossy, selfish, arrogant self, but..." he hesitated. He hated admitting that Vladan was a human being... "There have been times when I've seen a sincere human being who had it rough..."He sighed. "It's weird when he's like that... almost makes you forget how terrible he is..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 15 December 2016 at 9:49 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"Huh." Willow muttered thoughtfully to herself. She patted the couch besides her, motioning for James to sit besides her. The woman pulled her legs up on the couch, pulling a nearby pillow tightly against her body."He's certainly a strange one." She said. "I didn't think he would be capable of change." Willow said quietly. "But Dawn told me he's improved a lot since I'd first seen him."
dada_dragon • 15 December 2016 at 9:57 PM
James sat down next to her. He had never formally met Dawn, but he'd heard of her from the other men..."His men seem to think so." He said. "They say he's different, but I can never tell if they mean it in the positive sense."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 15 December 2016 at 10:06 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"I guess so." She admitted. "I'd heard much about him through mutual friends-acquaintances-whatever you can call them." Willow squeezed the pillow. "He's had it rough, but it's no excuse to act the way he does." She gave James a short smile, before leaning forwards eagerly."Tell me how your power works."
dada_dragon • 15 December 2016 at 11:22 PM
He shifted uncomfortably. He didn't really like talking about it, but she was a fellow healer, so..."Well... technically my power isn't healing... it's biological manipulation... I can control biological material... basically anything that's living..." he said quietly. "I try to only use it for healing though... Using it to its full potential would be... I won't lie... I'm scared of it..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 15 December 2016 at 11:43 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"Woah. Cool." Willow said in awe. "I would like to be able to do that." She admitted. "Sounds easy and repercussions less." The woman pushed her hair out of her face, flicking it lightly behind her."Mmm..." She hummed lightly to herself. "I don't know why Vladan would put us both on the same team. What do the other 3 do?"
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 12:27 AM
James noted her mention of "repercussions". Clearly there was a cost to her power..."One of them can grow spikes from his arms... he's a bit of a show off... one can harden his skin... I've seen him punch through a table too, so I'm pretty sure he's got super strength as well, though I've never asked. He's a pretty great guy when he isn't angry... The last guy is always so intense about everything... super serious... he can create visual hallucinations in close proximity..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 12:32 AM
@dada_dragon ~~~"Sounds like quite the team." She said, cocking her head to the side thoughtfully. "The one with the hallucinations...I would like to see him at work." Willow said quietly. She toyed with the edges of the cushion, squeezing them lightly as she spoke."It's a shame the lot of them seem so.." She struggled find the right word. "Antisocial. Cold. Reclusive. Withdrawn." Willow said, a hint of sadness in her voice. "I'm sure everyone has their reasons, but it couldn't hurt to open up every once in a while."
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 12:45 AM
"Yeah... Mercenaries aren't exactly known for their openness though, so don't count on it." He said. "And I wouldn't ask for a demonstration of that guy's power... I've seen what it does to people, and it isn't pretty...""They may not be very talkative, but they're good guys... They'll have your back when it counts."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 12:57 AM
@dada_dragon ~~~"We'll see." Willow said, though it was obvious she doubted his words. She tossed him the pillow playfully. "I'd better go looking for her." The woman said, referring to Kita. Willow stood and headed out, giving James a fleeting tap on the shoulder as she did so.-The house was extremely large, and Willow found herself aimlessly wandering around it for a bit. She opened a few doors curiously, and one of them led to an accidental encounter with one of Vladan's men. "Oops, sorry!" She cried out in surprise before shutting the door.Maybe she should have asked James to show her around first.
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 1:50 AM
Vietkov is rather torn, isn't he? And James... it's only a matter of time before his suspicions get the best of him... it's all rather beautiful, don't you think? The silence he had been feeling the last few days was gone and was filled instead with a quiet hum of despair, constant and satisfying...Vietkov will receive what he is due... And your power will be most useful...@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 2:04 AM
@dada_dragon ~~~Willow had found all 3 of the other Enabled, and the last one had finally given her directions of which way Kita had gone. She didn't bother knocking. Instead, she slammed the door open excitedly."Kita!" She squealed in glee. If the woman was an animal, she would have been a deer, considering the way she pranced over towards the other woman. Willow began talking long before she plopped herself besides Kita."I honestly thought I would never see you again." Willow said. "It's wonderful to have a familiar face, other than Vladan...you know how I feel about him." She clasped her hands together excitedly. "Why didn't you tell me you had someone special in your life?" Willow said, before brushing it off."Never mind that." She said quickly when she noticed the tattoo on the other woman's arm. "When did you get this?" Willow leaned in close, placing her hands over the ink. She felt a long bump, and her brows immediately arched upwards in surprise."Where did you get this?" She asked, referring not to the tattoo, but the scar this time. Her tone had suddenly become very serious, and she looked up at Kita for the first time since entering the room.
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 2:17 AM
Kita looked stunned by the girl's sudden entrance, and even more so by the rapid-fire questions."The tattoo was an impulse decision." She said, seemingly breaking out of her stupor. "And the scar was a training accident."She didn't say more than she had to.@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 2:21 AM
@dada_dragon ~~~Willow pouted, noticing that Kita completely ignored her questions regarding James. She stared at the other woman for a bit, giving her an expectant look. "Aren't you going to tell me about him?" Willow blurted out curiously. She tugged at Kita's sleeve, almost childishly even. "Let's get some lunch, or early dinner. I bet Vladan--like the jerk he is--didn't let any of you have breakfast.""You'd better drive." Willow said. "You've had the most experience with his cars, even though you totaled one of them." She grinned. "But that's not the point, he seems to trust you with his stuff, or so I've heard. You would be a much better choice of driver than I am, considering how I haven't even begun learning yet."
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 11:40 AM
"I'm not interested, Willow..." she said coldly. "And you've obviously already met him, so what else would I have to say to you that you don't already know?"She crossed her arms. "Was there anything else you wanted to bother me about, or are you good?"@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 12:00 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~The look on Willow's face may as well be the same one as a kicked puppy. Or even worse yet--a kicked puppy that has had it's favorite toy ripped from it's mouth. The woman was visibly crushed by Kita's harsh words. It was obvious that she was very, very dispirited, especially with the way her eyes widened significantly...and could that be? "Am I really bothering you?" She said quietly, eyes watering. Willow released her grip from Kita's sleeve. "I thought you would be relieved at least, seeing me."
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 12:18 PM
There was a look of concern on her face for a split second, but it disappeared as suddenly as it came."I have things that I need to do." She said in her cold monotone. "And it's clear that they're not going to get done with people talking my ear off every five minutes. Goodbye, Willow."She stood up and walked out of the room, leaving to some unknown location in the house.@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 12:39 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~Willow balled her fists up in frustration, obviously very confused and hurt. Throughout their short conversation, it was extremely visible that the white was fighting violently against it's black counterpart. She had never seen anything like this before. People had one main color, and it's shade spoke out heavily about what sort of person they were, but Kita...it almost felt like she was fighting herself. She left the room, noticing that Kita had already disappeared. Willow wrung her hands together absentmindedly as she headed down the hall, wondering fleetingly if James was still in the living room.A closed door caught her attention--she had skipped that one earlier. Curiosity peaked, she opened it. There was somebody in bed, and Willow ventured over wonderingly. No one had made any mention of this person. She sat down on the bed, watching as the man slept. It wasn't sleep though, Willow could tell. A coma, possibly? The woman placed two fingers over his neck. His pulse was slow, and steady. She picked up his hand now, bringing it slowly up to her face.No aura? How strange. There was no white, no red, no black. Absolutely nothing.
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 12:49 PM
James walked in with a bowl of soup to find Willow next to Andrew's bed."Oh hey..." he said quietly, hoping not to startle her. "I see you've met Andrew."He smiled gently, pulling up a chair next to Andrew's bed and setting the soup on the bedside table. He placed his left hand on the side of Andrew's neck and grabbed a spoon of soup with the other. He spooned soup into the man's mouth, using his powers to force the muscles to swallow it."I used to do this when I had trouble swallowing medicine growing up." He explained, smiling. "I would just use my powers and force it down...""I take it that it didn't go well with Kita?" He added sadly. "You look a bit upset..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 12:55 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"That isn't Kita." She said blankly with furrowed brows. "It is but it isn't..." Willow trailed off, getting confused by her own words. "You were correct. Something is definitely wrong." The woman fiddled with the comatose man's fingers absentmindedly before dropping the hand back on the bed. She shrugged, shook her head, then sighed."Who is Andrew?" Willow asked, watching as James fed him. "Vladan doesn't look like the type to keep a weak link like this around." She pressed onwards, moreso to satiate her own curiosity than out of concern."What is he?"
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 1:03 PM
"He's a patient I rescued from the compound... This isn't the first time he's been in a coma... apparently he'd just gotten out of one about half a year ago... I felt bad for the guy." He said sadly. "Vladan wasn't interested in taking him... but I talked him into it... I promised him I'd take him with me if we escaped.""As far as I know, he's not enabled, or at least he never told me if he is. He always seemed so... fragile."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 1:14 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"He's not human." Willow said. "I'm not quite sure if he's enabled either..." She trailed off, examining Andrew's unmoving form. "I know for sure that he's different than anyone else I've ever seen." She muttered, turning to face James. "If anything, he should be dead from what I can tell."
dada_dragon • 16 December 2016 at 1:33 PM
James raised an eyebrow. She obviously seemed to know something that he didn't."Not human... what do you mean by that? I've talked to the guy... he seemed incredibly normal..." he said. "Is there something unusual about him that I don't know about?"@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 16 December 2016 at 1:39 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"He's not here." Willow said cryptically. "His body is performing all it's default bodily functions like breathing and digesting but that seems to be it." She said, struggling to find a way to explain without confusion. Willow picked up Andrew's arm, lifting it up to her face, almost as if she was trying to see something."This body is nothing but a shell, his mind is not here." If his mind was there, Willow would have been able to sense their intentions or spot their aura no matter how large or small it was.
