"We'll leave now." she said.

Moonstar bustled out of camp and stopped at the sight of rouges and clan cats fighting.

"What is going on here?!"



Blur looked up. A gray cat was meowing something.

Oh great... more clan cats.

Mousefur paused. "These liners were attaching a fellowclan cat.. I know we may be in seperate clans, but it doesn't matter right now. I need help escorting and guiding them out of the territory, because I injured both of them badly." He glanced at Birchpool for support. He hoped that Moonstar thought he had been telling the truth, like he was. He definetly had several battle scars. He suddenly felt lightheaded, and he collapsed into the dirt.

Birchpool

"He's telling the truth, Moonstar," she mewed gratefully. Birchpool turned to see Mousefur collapse. "Mousefur!"

Moonstar

"Mousefur-!" Moonstar stopped short. Rouges had attacked them? Then she saw him collapse.

"Some cat get a another warrior from LeafClan!" she screeched.

Moonstar eyed Birchpool. "There you are!" She noticed the wounds on her clan-mate and widened her eyes.

"Are you okay Birchpool? Okay, Spiritwish please escort these cats into our camp and keep them prisoner."

She glanced around at the mess of the clearing. The grey tom was heavily injured-a deep cut in his belly-and the crimson marked tom had scratches on his flank.

"Why did this have to happen?" she muttered.



Blur

Blur sniffed in the clan scent. His side stung, and before long cat called 'Mousefur' collapsed. Birchpool just stood there.

Wait, keep us prisoner? he thought wildly.

No way they were going to keep us prisoner! But then he thought about Thunder. His belly wound was still bleeding, and he would die if they didn't get him help soon.

"Help my friend please." Blur managed to croak out.

The grey she-cat seemed to be their leader. There were smaller cats among the bigger ones also.

Is this how clan cats live? All cramped with other?

Mousefur slowly opened his eyes. He was too weak, he couldn't get up. "Camp... I... need medicine cat..." he managed to croak out. "Birchpool... please... help me..."

"Spiritwish, change of plans, can you help Mousefur?"

Moonstar timidly paced the battle-wrung clearing and cleared her head.

Birchpool

"Spiritwish! Please help Mousefur! He needs help!" she cried. He had saved her and now the tom was dying. "This is my fault," she muttered. She gently nudged Mousefur's face. "Hang in there ok?"


Spiritwish

Hearing his name, the medicine cat rushed over. His eyes widened at the sight of all the blood. "Oh my StarClan! What happened here?!" He carefully lifted Mousefur onto his back with Birchpool's help and brought him to the medicine den. Taking a small twig, Spiritwish gave it to the warrior to hold in his mouth. "This, uh, might hurt. I need to clean out your wounds." Birchpool sat next to him, worriedly watching.

Moonstar

Moonstar looked on as Spiritwish carried Mousefur back to camp with sharp eyes.

Her gaze caught the one of the other toms, and realized that he had very bad injuries.

She tried to remember her basic herb knowledge and stuck her paw into a bush. Cobwebs! Of course!

"Okay, you're going to be fine." she meowed as she patched up the wound with cobwebs.

The cobwebs had stopped most of the bleeding, but the tom was getting weaker by the second.

"Does any cat know about herbs?" she asked.

Now what to do?

Mousefur groaned. "Mrrrrrowww... my leg... it hurts... so much..." His leg felt as if it had been broken- it was definitely on fire. He held the stick in his mouth obediently. He felt Birchpool nudging his face. "I'll be fine... I need to recover..." he meowed weakly.

Falconpaw
The young cat was having little success finding his mentor so had resorted to playing in the woods. It was a nice day out, a little brisk but he didn't mind. That was before a yowl pierced the air and he coward in the undergrowth. He held still, listening but he didn't hear anyone. Carefully coming out of hiding he looked around, then began to follow the sound. Falconpaw could smell the other cats now, a bunch of them of both leafclan and dawnclan and something else? His ear perked up as he heard a cat yell out if anyone knew about herbs, "Oh I do!" he meowed, poking his head up through the leaves. His young eyes widened at the sight of the injurd rouge, "Woah! That's a doozy!" Scampering forward he looked down at the other cats torn up pelt then to Moonstar and then back down at the wounded rouge, "Hello, my names Falconpaw," He told the injured cat, "Could you do me a favor and stick out your tounge, I'd like to see if you've lost enough blood to go into shock. hmm, defiantly a doozy but I got this." As he was talking the aprentice was taking in the damage and picking out some plants from the serounding flora, and dropping it in front of him, "There, Its sour but it will ward off the shock and distract from the pain. You'll need water to as soon as possible, gotta get that fluid count up." He added cheerfully.

Moonstar

Moonstar looked at the she-cat rouge. She seemed mad, almost wanting to attack them.

Don't even think about it...Moonstar said silently. She noticed Falconpaw of LeafClan bound over with some herbs.

"Thank StarClan you're here."

Blur

His ears perked up at the sight of a new cat, this one a bit smaller than the others. The cat padded over and introduced himself. So that's Falconpaw.

Falconpaw walked over to Thunder with a bundle of herbs and begin to talk to Thunder.

Viperfang seemed tense and alert to the clan cat's actions. Oh please don't attack again! Blur thought. They could risk getting more injuries and Thunder even dying!

Mousefur was getting weaker; he could feel it. He could hardly keep his eyes open at this point. He was using all of his energy to make sure he didn't pass out. "I- can't hold... on much longer.." he murmured shakily. After that, everything merged into blackness.

Heronclaw
She was about to agree with SpiritWish when a comotion called him away. As he ran off Heronclaw tried in vain to get up and follow but her body was having non of it and she was forced to lay back down again. What if they needed warrior back up? Once again she scolded herself for being so useless. After a moment SpiritWish returned carrying another cat and she walched them go into the medicine cat den. What had happend? She wondered.

Moonstar

She looked around, viewing the remains of the rouge battle. Moonstar shook her pelt, and stared at the other rouges, a grey she-cat and a sandy crimson marked tom.

Her tail-tip twitched as a large breeze picked up, and the large birds carried over above the clearing.

We have to get rid of them first... maybe they're connected to Tawnynose's prophecy!

She paced, and thought about the words to the prophecy.

A kit of white... maybe Crystalpaw or Icepaw? And threat from the skies, that has to be the birds! The crimson-marked cat as well, must be that rouge!

It was coming together in her mind now, but it was still very confusing.




Blur


Blur averted his eyes when the clan cats looked at them. It was slightly embarrassing to be stared at by clan cats.

He wondered if they were staring because of his eye. Blur also noticed that other cats with himself were also looking warily at Viperfang.

Probably because she looks so vicious... He let out a gusty sigh thinking about it.

Spiritwish

Racing around the medicine den, Spiritwish grabbed herbs left and right. Using cobwebs, he was eventually able to stop any bleeding and celandine to ease the pain. The medicine cat didn't attempt to set the warrior's leg, but planned to once he was awake. Lastly, the tom use chervile root to keep any infections away.

"Ok," Spiritwish said with a pant and turned to Birchpool. "That should do for now. He needs to rest now. Once he wakes up though I'll set his leg back. It's harder to do when asleep, but more painful when awake so I might need your help." He glanced at Heronclaw and quickly looked away. "I'll be back once your friend wakes up."

Spiritwish trotted up to Heronclaw and sat down next to her. "I'm, uh, really sorry about that! Um, are you sure your leg is ok? Do you... need anything? I'll be happy to get whatever you need! If you want, of course!" He prayed to StarClan that Heronclaw didn't think that he though she wasn't capable and helpless. If anything, she was the opposite which was one of the things he admired about her and made her an excellent warrior.


Birchpool

She watched the medicine cat rush off and turned her attention back to Mousefur, curling up next to him. She sighed, guilt settling in her pelt. "I doubt you can hear me, but thank you. You saved me... and now you're hurt. This is my fault. I'm so sorry! I should have done something! I should've- should've... I don't know. I tried to prevent violence and all I did was bring more. I'm so sorry, Mousefur. It's all my fault," Birchpool muttered, forcing tears not to fall.


Thunder

"I don't want or need to your help! I'm fine, ok? I-" Thunder was interrupted by a bit of coughing as he tried to stand up and get away from the apprentice. "Don't even think about bringing me to that wretched LeafClan of yours either. Or DawnClan for that matter," he hissed, the thought popping into his head which was followed by fear. The last thing he wanted was to be trapped in a camp. Taking a step forward, Thunder's paw gave out and he flopped onto the ground.

Blur

His eyes widened when he saw Thunder fall to the ground.

"What are you doing? You need help!", Blur screeched to his friend. He padded closer and lay down.

"You have to have help if you're going to get better!"

Dawnheart bounded over. "What happened," she asked widening her eye. Looking over, she saw a crisom marked cat looking very vicious. Looks like trouble she thought warily.

Snowpaw lay down quietly beside a large oak. She watched warriors run towards a spot. "When can there be a time of peace," she muttered. Giving a long sigh, she averted her attention to her brother, who was bounding with excitement as he ran toward the place where she first looked at.

Sunpaw ran toward the border. "Much more fun then being copws inside." he said cheerfully.

Falconpaw
The young cat gave an exasperated huff, "you really are a piece of work arn't you?" He sat down and flicked his ear, "Well if you don't want our help I won't force you. If your perfectly fine sauntering off to get eaten by birds, and with those cuts, if they get in infected I'd give you a couple days tops." He paused, "Or you could eat those herbs I just gave you and we could take it from there." The calico said frankly, looking at Thunder like he was being a knotty kitten, "Your not my first rouge you know, your kind always seems to be dieing of somthing I just want to help." Falconpaw looked around then gave the loners a very serouse stare, "When your all healed up I give you my word you can be off on your merry way how's that?" He meowed

Thunder

The loner glared at the herbs, disgusted. His ears pressed back and any fur that wasn't matted with blood on his back was raised. He considered his option for a moment, looking from Blur to the apprentice and back to Blur. Already feeling light headed from the blood loss, Thunder reluctantly took an herb into his mouth and almost gagged. The taste was definitely sour, something the tom wasn't used to and forced himself to shallow.

"Ugh, that was awful," Thunder weakly spat, shuddering from the aftertaste. "How much of this fox dung do I have to eat?"

She offer SpiritWish a small smile, "Sorry about what? Helping that other cat is more important then helping me." She meowed then looked back at her leg, "It's ok I guess, but I can't walk on it anymore, couldn't even get up." She explained with a sigh, "I'm the one who should be apologizing, your busy enough as it is without my needs getting in the way."

Spiritwish

"Heronclaw, I... I... ," Spiritwish wanted to just spit it out and get it off his chest, but he couldn't. "I want you to know you don't need to worry about it. Helping is my job. You are very important and don't let anything make you think that you're not. I can only help you if you let me." He looked at her leg. No bones seemed to be poking out, but a medicine cat could never be sure without a proper examination. Spiritwish hoped it was sprained instead of the more painful injury of a broken leg.

He smiled and his little tail quivered happily when the loner excepted the plant. "Its awful but you don't feel so light headed anymore now do you?" He purred, then came closer, confident the rouge was going to let him do his thing, "That should be enough for now unless you start feeling woozy then your going to need to take something else. What is important right now is keeping you lucid. Now were are you hurting the most? Its always best to start were it is most painful." He explained.

Heronclaw
She gave him a look that said she wasn't quite convinced, "I suppose your right." She meowed without much conviction, though his words made her feel a bit warmer inside at the same time feeling embarrassed for being such a downer. "Don't give my words any mind Spiritwish, I'm just frustrated at not being able to help the clan."

Thunder

Thunder tensed as Falconpaw came closer, claws gripping the ground. Even though the pain was the worst on his stomach, he guarded it with his fluff tail, not wanting the young cat to touch it. "And why is that? I don't know how many times I have to tell you, I'm fine," Thunder hissed. "Just a bit light headed." Looking at the herbs, he quickly added, "But I'm not anymore. So if you don't mind, I'll be on my way. Away from from those cramped clans and those disgusting herbs of yours."

Despite the horrible pain that raked Thunder's stomach, he attempted to stand up, but wasn't even able to get up this time. "This is a load of badger droppings," the tom angrily cursed aloud.


Spiritwish

"Are you kidding? You brought water back for the clan! If that isn't helping the clan, then I don't know what is," Spiritwish exclaimed with a smile. "Can I at least take a look at your leg? It's better to address any injuries now than later."

He giggled, "You don't look fine to me, silly. But hey, if you want to bleed out that's ok with me. I can only help you if you want me to" Falconpaw meowed, though in true if Thunder did die the young cat would be heart broken, he's never lost a pateint. then he looked to Blur and Moonstar. "Are you guys ok or it just him? Oh! I don't think I got your names! You already know who I am and your Moonstar right? I've never seen you up close before!" He meowed, perposly giving Thunder some time to diside if he was really going to let Falconpaw help him. The young cat yelled back in suprise as another loner attacked. "Great Starclan." He meowed and tried to drag the off the leader but wasn't strong enough. "Why would you do that?" He yowled at Viperfang in confusion.

Heronclaw
"Yah, more like you brought the water back to the clan. I'd still be by the stream struggling to stand if it wern't for you." She meowed, then stretched her leg out from under her so he could take a look, biting back the instinct to let out a yowl at of pain that came when she moved it

Moonstar


She screeched in pain as the loner's teeth plunged into her neck. Moonstar fell onto her back in the clearing.

Her neck hurt so much, and she could taste blood in her mouth. "H-help!" she croaked out.

Falconpaw had tried to pull the loner off, but he couldn't.

She squinted her eyes as she continued to bleeding. Then she blacked-out.



Blur

Blur saw Viperfang leap onto the grey she-cat and sunk her teeth into her neck.

His breathing became fast, with shallow breath for fear that they might get attacked again.

Just get off her! He thought Viperfang seemed to short-tempered and vicious, but he never though about her killing!

Dawnheart quicky leaped up from her and bit Viperfur. Thn she tried her best to pull the crisom cat off her leader, hoping that she won't kill it.

Spiritwish

"Nonsense. I was the one who suggested we stayed, but you were determined to bring the moss balls home," he reminded her. Gently pressing his nose to her leg, Spiritwish trying to identify the warmest area, which would tell him were the main injury was. Eventually the medicine cat zeroed in on the part of Heronclaw's leg where the joints connected, near the side. "I'll be right back."

Grabbing some celandine from the medicine den, he brought it back to Heronclaw. "Here. This should help with the pain! It looks like a pretty bad sprain. Hate to be the barer of bad news, but you'll need to rest for a while. Try to stay off it as much as possible or it most likely won't heal properly."


Thunder

Thunder hated that the little apprentice was right. He knew he wasn't fine and it was possible to bleed out, but the loner didn't want to admit it. However, defeat settled in his mind and Thunder slightly moved his tail away from his stomach. "Fine... You can help," a mumbled, too tired to argue. He wanted to curl up in a warm, sunny area and doze off.

Yowls of pain snapped away any drowsiness as he saw Viperfang attack what he assumed was the DawnClan leader. The leader fell to the ground and Thunder watched, horrified, as another warrior tried to pull the rouge off. "Viperfang! What are you doing?!"

Snowpaw was curious when she heard a screech. She ran over and saw her leader fall to the ground. "Comfrey and cobwebs," she muttered remembering those simple herbs. She hated trespassing, but she didn't know where Spiritwish was. Grabbing some comfrey and cobwebs, she headed out, waiting for a chance to help Moonstar. Comfrey eases pain and cobwebs stops blood she recited in her mind. She dimly was aware of how she learned it, probably because she once took lessons on herbs before. Hope I can make it she thought.

I do believe that apprentices do take simple lesson on herbs when they're young to help them. From my reading perspective. Otherwise they experience it themselves when they trip.
