Soon they came upon the pond.``Rabbit tells me this is where you found a spot for you assessment,`` she indicated the pond with a swish of her tail. ``Good tracking. Anyways, that's one spot you know. Lets' go to the tunnels. Slow River, Rabbit Wind, and Swooping Owl dug them out to make them larger, but they were not happy when they had to roll in mud puddles to hide their scent while they dug in the tunnel.`` she laughed as Slow River's ear flicked, indicating he had heard, but said nothing, though his pace broadened briskly, and soon he was making them run to catch up.

Slow River slowed and Ice Fern stepped forward to stand beside him, hiding Gentle Breeze.``What are you doing here? You've already crossed the border!`` Ice Fern spat. She was right; the border was several fox-lengths ahead.

``Get out of Night Pack territory!`` Ice Fern growled in response. Slow River had already gathered himself on his haunches, ready to spring to attack.

Slow River pounced and Ice Fern bounded up to help as Slow River bowled White Paw's over, pinning her by the tail and attempting to sink his teeth in her back. She planted a paw on the Dark Print wolf's head, growling.

Slow River sank his teeth in the wolf's tail. ``Shut up!`` he spat through the fur on her tail.

Ice Fern gasped and, to her surprise, stumbled backwards into Gentle Breeze, knocking her off her paws. Slow River, however, stood his ground with his teeth fastened into the she-wolf's tail. ``She should've respected the border.`` he spat, kicking up dust with one hind paw as he held onto the tail of the Dark Print wolf.

Ice Fern snarled and leaped forward, but Slow River was already kicking with his hind paws, eventually throwing the she-wolf off. He laughed.``You call that fighting?`` abandoning the alpha of the Dark Prints, he leaped for Tiny Tail.

He knocked Tiny Tail off his paws, flipping him over easily and planting one paw on his stomach and the other on his neck. ``Ha! Dark Prints are such weaklings!``

Ice Fern snarled and leaped to her pack-mate's defense. ``Get off of him, you piece of fox-dung!`` she bit into Fern Paws' shoulder and slashed at her side. Slow River was biting into Fern Paws' fore-paw, his eyes gleaming with the joy he always met in battle.

Ice Fern kicked Fern Paws to the side, Slow River scrambling up and shoving her bitten shoulder.``Get off of our territory for Moon Pack's sake.`` Ice Fern growled, exhausted already by the battle.``Or we'll rip your pelts off,`` Slow River growled menacingly.

Sharp Feather was discussing something with Rabbit Wind and Swooping Owl when the others burst into the den.``What in the name of Moon Pack happened?`` Sharp Feather called as she noticed their scars. ``You look like you've been thrown in a rat's nest!````Some flea-bag crossed the border.`` Slow River growled. Sharp Feather narrowed her eyes.``From which Pack?````Dark Prints.````I'll have a... thorough... talk with Dark Blue next time we meet, then.`` Sharp Feather padded up to the group and noticed that Gentle Breeze had no sign of a fight on her body. ``Gentle Breeze... why weren't you in the battle?``
