You should totally be fine closing the contest early. They're way more lenient on that than they are when someone tries extending an contest. (That's usually only allowed under special circumstances and not by much. i.e. family emergency, 1 week. - but more often the contest is closed by mod's word, and the host has more time to hand out prizes.)
