He, Albatross, and Xenops had to resolutely explain to her that they had actually been planning a surprise party for her! After all, Albatross never said Eagle had been cheating on her, just that he didn't want her to hear that he was cheating on her - no matter if the rumours were true or not! Xenops had covered for Eagle because they knew that Eagle's wife would get the wrong message through the grapevine about Eagle and Albatross getting together in secret, so they were trying to keep it hidden from everyone. Unfortunately, the misunderstanding had occurred anyway, so Eagle and his friends had to clear his name and save his relationship with the truth. (Albatross had called in a favour with Xenops to organise some catering etc for the party - when Xenops was spotted by Armadillo, they were actually on their way home from the meeting after the part they needed to be there for had concluded.)
