This has been a pretty widespread issue for many accounts and side accounts. The need for space with how many new creatures being added is unobtainable. The price is way too high as soon as you start buying more than 100 spaces. Adding by 200 seems easy in the beginning, but there are users here spending over 400k per cove spaceI get that the price of collecting comes with value, and I get that we just had a base increase in cove space, but it is imperative that we have some sort of change in the future. We get an approximate 61 creatures per year (And then adding 24 rereleases is 85) and collecting is a huge driving component for EggCave as a whole.Maybe an EC cap so it can't go over an amount of money, like 200k EC and that be the max price for a single space? Perhaps a 100 EC and not 200 EC increase?Tags: @raitonchidori @chaotictreat @ravensong @christine13531 @ida92 @musical_sytherclaw @nocturne @frankenstein @minnie298a

Yes, I agree 100%! My Cove space is currently on life support, and I think it's about time the site implements a more long-term solution to this issue ^^Furthermore, wouldn't this idea be in the site's best interests profit-wise? With so many rereleases coming out each year, users would feel more inclined to buy CC to spend on Cash Shop Creatures if their Cove can accommodate enough space to fit them!

@toebeans would be really nice! I keep desperately trying to immortalise creatures to shove them into a non-LoV protected cove but it's just not fast enough my cove keeps filling up TT
toebeans • 2 July 2024 at 1:16 PM
I also think that with how many people are trying to sell for space, no one's buying since they have no space themselves! Me included, I'm in the red on my main and my side has only 1 free space left...

Total support. I'm struggling on @raitoncollection
sparklefox • 2 July 2024 at 2:36 PM
Throwing in my support as well. I currently have five free cove spaces left and my next slot costs 94,200 EC. May not sound like a huge price on its own to some, but obviously when you're mass buying them for the next few months it builds up very quickly. I get that this whole system is supposed to be an EC sink, but it really doesn't take too long for the price to start snowballing.I'm pretty sure I was spending well over 100K for each one before the bump to 500 slots as well.

@toebeans This issue has been mention by users so many times already. I 100% agree with you. Many pet sites have either a fixed price for spaces or you get like 5 or 10 per purchase. Also, they usually don't have 4 new creatures every month + re-releases + seasonals, which can add up to 7-8 new creatures a month. Not to mention that a lot of people like to have couples or "families" consisting of 2-3 creatures of each species or more.

I'm adding a poll here to get a better understanding of what people here would prefer, if that helps at allIf you have other ideas PLEASE speak up, we need as much support as we can get to get this ball rollingThank you ❤️

All 4 of my accounts have been expanded, and I still need space. I stopped buying space regularly for @OvernightAesthetic in 2022, and have only bought 32 emergency spaces between 2022 and 2024 because it currently costs me 406,600ec per space... +200, then +200, and then +200 of course.I've spent a total of 592,435,600EC on expansions between my accounts, and honestly much of it was bought through CC. If anyone feels brave enough to do the math, I'm embarrassed to admit how much real life money I've spent on expanding my four coves alone, on top of everything else on the site that costs cc.In the end, why buy/collect/trade multiples of anything if I can't keep expanding?I can't afford it, full-stop.The recent trend of not being able to sell creatures, even at a steep discount, means severely limited space by more than just myself. It's all connected.Of course, there's going to be dissenters saying, 'no one's forcing you to buy anything,' and that is true. But who on here thinks earning that much EC by elbow grease alone isn't completely insane?A lot of people join digital pet sites for the fun of collecting, selling, making trades, but I'm really struggling to do that right now. Many of us are.

I've stated my views on this before, but in summary it's honestly just ridiculous how expensive cove-expanding can get, especially if you have 'collections' of certain creatures. My 'Floofies' side became so prohibitively expensive to expand that I ended up having to completely re-organize the entire purpose of my 3rd side to make it an 'overflow' side instead. The Floofies account, currently with 2170 spaces, just one single space more will cost 334,200 ec! That's really just unreasonable. (Even the 'overflow' account is getting pretty expensive, currently at 134,200 ec for the next space!)I think there are many things that can be done to make this whole process a little more reasonable: Lowering the cost-increase per spot, having some sort of 'cap' at which point the cost would remain the same instead of continuing to increase, allowing us to 'bulk-buy' slots at a discounted rate, allowing us to 'bulk-buy' slots from the CSP with CC... Etc etc. Honestly this is the *one* overarching issue I have with Eggcave. This is a game centered around collecting, and yet the space needed for that collecting becomes so expensive so quickly that it ends up taking away from the fun of collecting because you have to weigh collecting more creatures against the extremely expensive costs to get those spaces. (I, too, have caved and spent too-much CC trading for ec, which doesn't exactly seem logical since ec is 'free' and CC costs actual money, but with the huge space costs and my habit of saving every extra penny in real-life, it's really the only option sometimes... Which really does seem like a serious flaw in the game.)edit: Also!! What ever happened to @Ian's own idea of increasing the number of spaces every year? At this point that wouldn't actually help me, or plenty of other people, except just by lowering the space-cost a tad, but at least it would be *something*...

Hard agree. I used to be a bit of a hoarder (which was why I was so active) and at some point I literally could not afford to fit any more creatures into my coves, which made me stop playing for a while. The purpose of this game is collecting, and having that hindered because you're too poor to afford an expansion sucks so bad. I wanna use my money to actually buy creatures!I keep all my extra creatures on the side accounts, and at some point, if I run out of room, I might have to give them up for adoption or let them die because even spending 20k for one spot (increasing with each spot) is SOO expensive. It's the same as feeding 200 creatures (truly speedrunning my carpal tunnel rn)! I think the EC cap would be the best way of doing it. I don't know what price would be a good one to settle on but honestly I'm getting driven out of the bank even at 20k but even then I'd be willing to pay that if I knew it wasn't gonna get higher.I'm not sure what the rationale was to /not/ have one in the first place because it was obvious with the rate of creatures being released, the expansion prices would quickly get unmanageable, but the second best time to implement that is now, I suppose.

I just spent a little under 150k EC for 3 spaces on my side account- with about 3k extraIt is now completely full and 49,600 EC to increase by 1 single space
twilightshine • 6 July 2024 at 9:37 PM
I agree that there needs to be an EC cap since most players are buying hundreds of spaces-it's not feasible to pay 30k+ for a single space. Also I would love if there was a bulk upgrade option. I don't think it would be too hard to implement and the reason why I havent expanded my cove that much is because I dont want to keep clicking at a button for every single cove space. I don't know how much this is needed though.
minnie298a • 6 July 2024 at 11:29 PM
I would also love a bulk way of purchasing extra slots. I like to have a rounded number, so I don't just buy one slot, I get multiples of 10 at a time.As for the price, I've got a split mind. I'd like to start by stating I don't have any sides and my next spot will be over 150k (over 56mil spent so far). Part of me is fine with the price. I understand it is an ec sink. I also see it as I have to work for each spot. I have to put in effort for the rewards of growing my collection of new creatures. I run out of room and I need to either pony up the cost or cull the creatures I have to sell or trade. Something that does seem hard at the moment. However ec I'm spending on expansions is ec I'm not spending on purchasing items for quests or to use. Ec I'm not spending on trading with others (including buying CC from them because I am time rich, but real money poor). Ec that is not being circulated in the economy. Ec I don't have to donate to the SARC. I also feel that there is a little discrepancy due to the amount of new creatures that are released each year. There is over 30 free creatures released each year (24 monthlies, plus new creatures for Choc, Halloween, Lunar New Year, Earth day, Easter, Dragolds plus the Gobbler hunt, VEND additions and some others I've probably forgotten). So I'm looking at about 5 mil in upgrades for the next year just for 1 of each new free creature. More for the spots to collect some for trading, or I decide I absolutely must have a CC creature. So would I object to a spending cap, or a reduction? No. To some more free spaces (that really just lower my expansion costs)? No. Even if as history has shown there are no refunds for money already invested. In short, while I am able and begrudgingly willing to pay the exorbitant cost of expansions, I would not object to a way of decreasing those costs.
provo7demons • 9 July 2024 at 9:35 PM
I agree with these; with my immortal side reaching the 500 limit, and my other sides already dedicated for my adoption center and trading, it's already getting difficult to get enough EC for expansions! An EC cap would be nice; I'd LOVE the option of another side, but I think that's the least likely option.

@toebeansfor older players or people who love collecting a specific kind of pet it is getting harder in the end, I can only see myself in the future with the same problem :|I may have another fix suggestion. I noticed that at the chocolate exchange I was able to click a lot more pets without getting the notification of that there are too many requests after 20-21 clicks. It would be faster if they could increase the cooldown, if there is one, of course it could be a server thing, but why I was able to click about 40-50 at the event? Some people like me are quite busy with realife and I have to stress myself to feed my babies and get dailies done, on occasion I cant even make it to that point and with increasing pet amount it is getting more frustrating for me.

Out of curiosity, does anyone remember when the last time they increased the number of Cove spaces was?
