@smartie2742 there isn't a limit last i knew. And I don't think there should be one, but I do support cool-down periods.

@snowywinter Yunno, I could've sworn I saw something about a cooldown at one point, like only 1 per minute or something? But maybe I'm thinking of something else. (cooldown/limits wouldn't even matter when the stock is gone in seconds, lol!)
I'm staring at that Raskoon, barely half the stock gone, my resolve is wavering....

^ seconding prairie’s question, would also love more transparency with rerelease population numbers in general. it’s quite a process to eyeball the rarity rankings, stock percentages, and count egg IDs as they’re generated lol.

@prairie Somewhat unrelated, but do you know if the population numbers in the archives are calculated based on currently living creatures, or all creatures ever to exist? I'd be curious how that affects the re-releases

@snowywinter You can only buy one rerelease per uh. 2 or 3 minutes. Bc i tried to buy two nyms in a row and it kept saying "you have to wait 2 minutes before you can buy another released creature!"

I also would like an answer to prairie's question. Seems like there's lots more than anyone expected, & while it's nice short-term to get creatures we want, it'll decrease trading & activity overall in long-term due to the population increase and therefore value drop of the nym.

Not to mention, the release amounts this time felt extremely disproportionate. The first few drops sold out in 30sec or less, while the bonus batch STILL hasn't been fully sold and has massively slowed down in progress. Releasing more is fine, but... maybe not that many?

@okami This is actually a wonderful Q! :0 I'd love to know for sure. I've always operated under the living number since if a creature *dies* it is assigned a new ID. Back when stuff would just.... die and that's it is seemed that way 100%.

@prairie It would be really helpful to know. Because if the number is calculated based on all creatures to ever exist, then (assuming not all those og ones live) I assume that for certain re-releases the living population definitely more than doubles.

@chaotictreat Thanks for the info on cool-down periods! (I forgot I actually triggered it earlier this year) (and I seen in the initial rerelease someone had 2 Nym within that first minute when i was looking through them. - So I just assumed there wasn't one. No idea how.)

@okami @prairie The archives number is based off the amount of creatures currently alive, not how many have existed ever. I will be compiling the number of wave 4 Nyms that we released and will let everyone know the final count, but it is far more than what waves 1+2+3 were.

@chaotictreat I agree about the disproportionate releases, it really feels like something is 'off' when all batches sell out within a minute but then the last/'extra' batch is still around over an hour later? Supposedly the releases are done in batches to account for timezones--

it's closed for me but i agree that the numbers don't add up. i'm aware an release of extras was intentional and i've always been pro rerelease, but creatures lose value if an excess is made available. echoing earlier sentiments, i second the notion of increased transparency. ❤️

I believe there should be a countdown of how many creatures are still left. Like 70/100, 80/100 and so on.

I regret spending so many CC on Nyms. Their prices are now totally ruined. How much will I get for each? 1,000cc? Because I believe everybody with CC was able to buy them. And the number of Nyms available more than duplicated, for sure. And it's not the first time it happens...

Glad for rereleases. Always stated don't trade what you are not willing to lose as re-releases always happen in some form on games sites like these. What people trade on their own decision should not be a determination for a whole site. Had 6 at one time could care less.

Agree with the desire for more transparency - if "rules" are changing (ex. if the population can more than double) there should be an announcement. The last wave being so large made all the previous waves a waste of time - people came on and frantically refreshed for no reason.

On a side note, would also like to know what the site's stance is on the price of creatures re-released more than once - not the value in trading, but what it is sold for in the CSP. Some of the first re-releases were in the CSP for more than 1000 CC.

With the Eurog, which has been re-released twice now, the price dropped from 1400 CC to 1000 CC the second time it was re-released... don't feel as though this was fair to those who purchased the first time around as it doesn't even have to do with trading, but CSP price itself.

Personally, I got my Nym in one of the short waves, and I'm still happy with the final wave. This shows that the staff is listening to satisfy its players. I prefer that to a team that leaves a mass of disappointed players behind. Reissues are necessary.
The old ones have the advantage of having the correct release date. And I'm glad everyone can have their own copy. Now, those who buy to resell must assume that they cannot always make a profit. It's like that everywhere. Me, I'm happy with how the Nyms were sold.

@backwoods I'm impartial, but wanted to point out that amounts have been increased in the past during the Raicorn and Shamrue unvaulting (https://eggcave.com/blog/bonus-stock-now-available-for-shamrue-and-raicorn?page=1). Idk if the same rules apply to what happened with the Nyms

@backwoods I agree they were not made for hoarding and resell. But imagine if you had the opportunity to buy something that at first was supposed to be limited to a few, but then after you buying it, more copies are released widely. It's a disrespect to those who spent on it.

@okami From what Im reading there, Shamrue and Raicorn caps were set to be lower than 'should' have happened. Nyms, when sold out, did follow the double population amount. There was no real reason to add more Nyms, let alone so many. If those who set the rules dont stick --

to them, it basically tells us that it can happen again, anytime, anywhere. Why should anyone believe X when Y ends up happening? It just breaks the trust between site and player tbh. Im not mad about more Nyms, I *love* that Creature so much. But I am a bit ??? at the situation

@mami If I'm remembering correctly (I might be wrong), the Raicorn sold out completely, and then additional stock was added. Meaning that the initial "sold out" number was not double the population. I'm unsure if that was just an initial re-release amount mistake with the ---

Raicorn specifically or if all rerelease numbers are below whatever double the population number is, leaving room for more stock to be added. Until more clarity is given, its hard to 100% say if the Nym really did go over the double population number or not.

@okami Between wave one and two (iirc) some of us were discussing numbers and a mod has said there were ~80 original Nyms, so unfortunately this really is a different case from the Raicorn/Shamrue :')
