THE TEXU - Say hello to the Texu, the newest Cave creature. Thanks to all of our CDWC contestants for this creature. We thought this batch of submissions was the most creative bunch we've received so far.
SITE GUIDELINES UPDATE - Nobody likes being a victim of pointless pinging, as it leaves people's Notification feeds traumatized for days. We've updated our Site Guidelines to include some guidelines for pinging, particularly to prevent against pointless pinging. Read about it. Then don't do it.

Pings are still allowed. Pings just to get a topic on the livepluse are not allowed anymore.

Pings do not bother me, if I don't want to look, I don't look. I can easily check my notifications in the tab set up for my notifications...

If you're pinging a friend to a topic you know they'll be interested in that's fine.

Texu stages seem mixed up to me. The third image should be the fourth in my opinion.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't thank you enough for this new rule. I hate pings. I think it's just plain rude to randomly ping.
And for those that think that pings is the only way to get a forum topic read, I'd like to know what the magic is that allows pings to make

With regards to the new pinging rules, it's really just to prevent against ping spamming and posts that contain no content except pings.

Ping spamming has also been used to abuse topic bumps, which we're also trying to prevent against.

@Ian I still think it's going to hurt/discourage awareness and interaction of topics that are time sensitive especially ie: contests.

I'm still confused on "Using side accounts as temporary, pass-thru accounts for trading." Does that mean moving creatures to sides? ;-;

@dawnfur I think it means using sides as a 'trading hub'. Like, if you arrange a trade but pass the creature to your side before trading-
-with the other player.

I haven't gotten any monthlies in 5-6 days. Did they stop giving them out early? I steal from the cave about 15-20 time s a day.

For me personally, I liked being randomly pinged regardless of whether the topic interested me because it made me feel like people cared-
about my input. >_<
