@newlife

It was so tiny and far away where I lived :') But when I squinted I could see some red/orange and it was really cool !!! I ended up watching a livestream of it instead, haha.

To be honest, I felt that it was smaller and harder to see than what I usually see in the morning walking to school. LOL

Everyone's posting cool pictures of a giant red moon in great detail and every time I scroll past one I go "OOOOOOOOO" inside my head. Space is so pretty and nice aaaaaaaaaa

Oh really? I suppose that's what I get for living in the middle of the US lol. Dude I know omg how do they get those pictures like ???

@newlife

I live on the East Coast of the US and honestly I'd just like to see one night where the sky is full of stars and not just like 5 specks of shiny dust. Cuuuuurse you city liiiiifeee!!!

I guess they probably have $$$$$$$ cameras or telescopes to capture the image. Another guess would be that they floated off into space and took a picture closer to the moon and teleported back down to Earth. :')

Yooo sometimes I see like a really pretty picture where it's like in a forest clearing and there's a GIANT moon in the center of the picture and there are so many stars in the sky and I'm like?? Uhm, excuse me????? Who gave you the right to kidnap the moon for a photoshoot I'm calling the cops

@hayz

I sometimes have nights like those, but we have to go to Rocky Mountain National Park or some obscure highway where getting jumped at night is always a possibility, but it is totally worth it.

-wipes tears away with tissues- yep, people are richer than a lot of us here. Also, going up to space to take a picture, very likely. Probably some aliens did it.

LOL omg that's great ahhhah. There's been some instances here where that's happened (we live in the middle of the great old colorful state) and it's really breathtaking.

I was unable to witness the blood moon this time, which was slightly disappointing. I wanted to capture another hundred images of the eclipse to add to my ever growing collection! I can get these lovely images of the moon because I use my sister's DSLR camera and we can zoom right up onto the moon.

Viewing the moon with telescopes can be difficult with eclipses. One side is bright enough to burn your eyes (yes it happens) while the other side is dark. It only takes you one time to realize how dangerous it can be, and I've already been momentarily blinded by it. But the detail you can see on the moon is just phenomenal. If you're ever given the change to gaze through a telescope, jump straight to it!

I'm truly excited for tomorrow, who cares about this insignificant supermoon! NASA is going to be giving us some information about Mars tomorrow and it's going to be major news! I wonder what will it be? Will it be that they have found liquid water, organic compounds or maybe something else related to our lovely H2O?

@mastergemma

How much do those cameras cost? If I could, I would buy that camera in a heartbeat, if only it wasn't expensive as I think it is.

That makes sense, we went out while the moon was slowly moving out of the shadow of the earth, it was quite blinding to look at for a period of time, no telescope.

I didn't know that NASA was going to talk about Mars today! But.. Gotta wait until the afternoon to find out I suppose -sigh- but who knows what's going to be said! Space is rather fascinating

@newlife

What!!!!!!!!!!! That is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaa I want to see the moon like that in person too :0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd pay to get a glimpse of that (sadly I have no money) :'(

@mastergemma

Man, that camera sounds expensive, but being able to zoom all the way up to the moon is definitely worth it!

Yikes, burning your eyes? That's a scary thought! Though it's a pretty romantic thought to have your last sight being the bright round moon and the starry night sky.

...maybe that stuff should just stay in stories :')

!!!!!!! You're right on the money!!!!!!

The cameras can range from USD $210+. Well that's the price that my sister bought it converted to USD, I wouldn't have a clue how much it would be in other countries. It depends on what you really want the camera for though. My sister and I wanted something with quite a lot of Megapixels with a good zoom and it needed settings that can take decent images of astronomical objects. So we have the Nikon Coolpix S8100 and I definitely recommend it.

It also takes lovely images of birds.

I thought the announcement wasn't going to happen for another 5 hours! Oh well I was never good at converting time zones.

Liquid water. This means... surprisingly little as it can only demonstrate that Mars can possibly support Earth-like life. But Mars has a different composition of elements and receives different amounts of heat from the Sun.

I hope they start turning their efforts onto Europa, that's a body that needs to be studied in greater detail (also may be able to support microbial life).

I firmly believe that extraterrestrial life exist (we can't be the only ones in the Universe) but the Universe is just too large and too barren for us to find any. And even if we did find evidence from another world, where is it, how far away is it and how do we know that it's a signal and interpret it? Would we even be able to detect the signals. We may just be the most advanced civilization out there too.

@mastergemma

Jeez, that's expensive, but for the quality that makes a lot of sense.

Could you upload some of the pictures of birds? I'm curious to see what types of birds you can see where you live!

I think it happened around 3 hours ago? Still though, even if humans went to Mars, there would be a constant need for oxygen and other necessities that we have on Earth.

Europa, yes. I don't know why there's so much hype over it, but almost no effort to see what there is. I know it's far away, but I think, and believe, there is something there, human-like or just the beginning of a planet.

There probably does exist life, and I wish there was more of a push to explore planets that we know life exists on, like Europa, but I suppose it's still cool to see what type of life forms once existed, or possibly still do, on Mars, as it's the closest planet to us that has a chance to sustain life.

You would enjoy the BOAF club if you haven't already joined it. I'm happy to hear that Tokyo Ghoul is getting another season. I haven't seen it yet but I'm planning to watch it whenever I can.

@newlife
I now have bragging rights with picture quality. I love comparing what my camera can take compared to all the cameras that everyone else has. Majority mainly only have phones and the only one that can remotely come close is the Nokia with around 12 Mega Pixels. The Nokia even takes pretty nice videos.

If I remember I'll upload the images later today.

@audrei9
Trick or treat, smell my feet- actually please don't do that you would make me feel very uncomfortable.

@fakeworld
A few nights ago there were some terrible storms where I lived. I have never seen such a ferocious storm THIS early in the Spring, it actually made me worry a bit.

Oh climate change, how I despise you ❤️

I went to a park with a friend yesterday and came home with around 7+ mozzie bites. I also found out that my leg was swollen a little due to a small concentration of bites in one area. I'm happy I have a day off today otherwise I wouldn't have been able to cope with public transport.

Haze on Guam = Bad Time

Undertale OST playing ATM = Good Time

Fighting the brother of a skeleton who makes spaghetti = Worst Time to Live.

I feel like getting $9.99 just to get Undertale... But I'm lazy.
