I'd just like to say I really like the community here; I'm used to games where you get your head bitten off just for asking a question, but even out of the browser games I know (which generally have friendlier communities as far as I've noticed), EggCave has an exceptionally friendly vibe! it's really refreshing, keep it up y'all !!

what has everybody been up to lately? c:

@vampireboyfriend I've been around (life & the internet) a while, and this place truly is special. It is the most wholesome, welcoming, positive corner of the internet I have ever found. And that's including pet forums and a hobby site where we did meet-ups. I've had many communities I've thoroughly enjoyed being a part of, but Eggcave truly stands out above the rest. < 3
(Yeah, app games communities were culture shock for me on how snappish and self-centered people can be.)

Anastasia the musical finally arrived in Australia, and I managed to get some cheap tickets! It was such a cool musical and I'm worried that the musical is going to be heavily criticized due to expectations being based off the movie. Which... I get because the movie is god tier.

And that the best characters aren't in the movie, Bartok and Rasputin. It also just makes me laugh how someone looked at the original book of Anastasia and decided, yes this will make a great children's movie. Definitely not complaining though, I loved it and it remains to be one of my favourite movies of all time.

Fun fact: in Australia when this movie is on tv, they remove the scene when Rasputin dies. Colour me shocked when my twin and I finally obtained a DVD copy of it and saw that scene for the first time.

@mastergemma Oohhh I'd love to see that! While the movie definitely has it's flaws, the music is amazing and I still listen to the soundtrack regularly. Seeing Anastasia the musical would be exciting!

And I'm just realizing I don't think I've ever seen a live musical before, unless I count the high school productions we'd see in grade school. (We had the best field trips omg)

I have a set, minus the Mournwing, that I can give you if you'd like!
Or if you only need specific ones, just let me know. :-)

Edit: I now have a full set for you if you want!

@heatherm19
I recommend taking a look at any performances at nearby universities. They are definitely a step up from school performances and a great way to support local art students! What other class trips did you do?

While the movie definitely has its flaws
This is blasphemy and I will not accept any criticism (there's enough flaws in the story that it's hilarious, but I wouldn't change a thing). It's also interesting watching the movie again knowing more about the revolution.

@jlya
Oh nooooo
To give you a hand, check your creature transfers, happy hunting!

@mastergemma Let's see, there were multiple field trips to the children's science museum where pretty much everything was interactive, plus multiple other museums, the historic theatre, toured a famous wooden ship (and now that I'm typing these out I realize some kids probably weren't interested in the museums and history stuff but omg I looooved it)... Many trips to different parks, the aquarium, oh and the time we had an actual field trip to an Italian restaurant and the whole class got pizza (that one was set up by my mom, who knew the owners and was a frequent volunteer on the field trips).

April was pretty good. May is planting month here. A few sore muscles and all my hopes and dreams of fresh produce have their seeds in place.

April was expensive! Had a huge car fix which cost a grand, felt like it was bills every week! But I did find out I will likely be able to go on my honeymoon next year, which is super amazing.

Did you plant anything specific? Or have any plants you wish you could have planted this season?

Cool, what are you planting? @geddra

Oh no! At least it's fixed though, right? Aww, that's great about your honeymoon! Where are you going? @edgarallentoe (I love your username btw!)

I plant a lot of vegetables. Squash, tomatoes, and peppers. Herbs in a couple pots. Raspberries, asparagus, mint and strawberries and blueberries have places as well. All these plants do well in large containers. Dotted around the patio are smaller containers with flowers. I love my garden.

@edgarallentoe congrats on your engagement. That is so exciting.

@minervaandmars... (Redacted, got nervous about leaving my personal business so public. But I had amazing plans that fell through horribly. So, will be sticking around home.)

But I saw something REALLY neat yesterday on the news. I almost came and shared it in Shoutbox then. There's a whole town in Scotland dedicated to reading culture. Their town's economy thrives on bookstores! And there's even one that you can lease being the owner for short periods of time (a day, two, a week.) The Open Book I think it was called. (I haven't looked up the name of the town yet.)
I'd love to go there some day!
(or would have. All my travel has to be done at night.)
Edit: Ah ha! The town is Wigtown. ^^

Wigtown is such a silly name! That sounds so cool though, I would LOVE to go to a place like that.

@edgarallentoe I figured it would be too obvious that at one time they were known for making wigs, but just assumed so anyhow. But you got me curious and supposdly it could mean "dwelling place" or "city by the bay", the origins are lost to time.

I K R?! (would love to visit) It sounds so relaxing... and fun (in a bookish way.) The library was my sanctuary growing up, and I've continued to visit them on trips. People laugh, thinking I'm joking when I've told them that one was even my destination... but it really was, like why not? (There's one in Wiconsin with really nice griffen statues near the entrance. The library isn't huge, or some grand architecitual masterpiece itself, but the staff was warm and inviting : ) )

@snowywinter talking about libraries, in Romania we have a bookstore located in the capital city called Carturesti Carusel, I think you would have loved it when you were younger (and even now)! It's a library located in an old building in the old town, it's really charming 😊

@gngdia I probably would have. I LOVE old buildings and miss our old main branch. The outside had a beautiful orangy peach marble, stained glass windows, curving steps and mysterious alcoves. And the inside was a marvel of form and function. Apparently it was designed by someone who was famous for their buildings in New York City.
Romania is one of the countrues I've long wanted to visit. It looks so beautiful in landscape and architecture.
