"We'll get back to you within 10 business days..." I am going to need to borrow a phone to call these people, aren't I? Honestly I am flabbergasted. They may need 10 whole days!? Who do these people have working for them? I doubt they're getting flooded with requests on the daily, I'll cut them some slack because it's been Easter. But good God. I need my phone to work. I can't bloody well look for jobs properly when people can't call me, now, can I!?*grumbles*
aardbeix3 • 4 April 2024 at 4:36 PM
@hikanu wait, they didn't give you a phone while you're waiting for your own phone to be repaired?? đą
hikanu • 4 April 2024 at 5:11 PM
@aardbeix3 I bought a new phone and switched from one provider to another because I could get a substantial discount. (My broke backside needs the extra money for other things, like a new frying pan.) They just transferred my number before I'd received the sim, so I got stuck in limbo. So I had a phone. It just couldn't do the most basic thing a phone is meant to do.It turned up in the mail today, so fortunately I didn't have to take my ire out on their poor employee who would be the last person at fault for this mess. Truth be told, I should probably be angry at the postal service if anything. But I am still shocked it takes them that long to reply to an email. Sure they have an online chat, but I have not seen it available once in the last week.
aardbeix3 • 4 April 2024 at 5:20 PM
@hikanu ah I understand, new phones and sims are always such a fuss :/I'm glad you got it in the mail today though!I also expected a delivery today but it got delayed.. -_-I was home all day today and tomorrow I probably won't be and it was delayed to tomorrow. Typical postal service...
hikanu • 4 April 2024 at 5:38 PM
@aardbeix3 I didn't even get a timeline to work with. But yeah, it sucks when delays happen.

I'm in such a good mood today! Super random, no particular reason - just enjoying the spring weather and happy to be alive. đ Hoping to be productive, we'll see if that works out xDWishing you all a wonderful mood/day as well â¤ī¸

Work is usually peaceful and for the most part it was. The only thing that was out of the ordinary or exceptional was I found a dripping pipe ceiling making a 3ft puddle near an electric panel on the wall. sooo, informed higher ups and set out wet floor signs. That was fun /s

Getting real close to graduating now, and I'm super excited! That being said, it's going to be weird to be out of the routine I've had for so many years. At least there's plenty of opportunities to be found... I'm mostly thinking out loud.Hope you all have a wonderful day â¤ī¸

Was at a job interview yesterday.Today I almost feel like I had a job of chasing insects and arachnids out of places that they don't belong. First a wasp in my kitchen. Took 20 minutes before it managed to leave through the open window without insisting on passing through the glass. Then a huge fly in my living room, took 5 minutes to chase it out of my balcony door, and lastly a spider decided to make a web in my bathroom sink. I made it relocate to a web below the sink instead. ._.The other day I shooed a cat off a zebra crossing where it had decided to take a nap right in the middle of the road.

Currently feeling like I have the freedom to make any decision in the world and yet all of them will be wrong :/ Slightly bummed. Things are just more complicated and difficult than I expected in a lot of areas.

I am so stressed out and nervous for next week lol. First big renovation in our house and I'm panicking
hikanu • 28 May 2024 at 11:59 AM
I deep cleaned my bathroom today... It was way more exhausting than it had any right to be for such a tiny space. XDIt's only like 2 by 1.5 meters-ish.

Japan was just so incredible. The duality between their religious buildings and modern buildings was such a sight to see and witnessing sakura blossoming was beautiful. I couldn't believe how cheap food was there, a large meal was usually 1500 yen or less and the conbini food was delectable. I miss Family Mart so much for the pricing of everything and the beautiful Fami chiki. Definitely the best fried chicken I have tasted and this is not even a restaurant! Get good restaurants and KFC because the bar has been raised.I never thought that I would participate in a Shinto wedding but my god they are superior in every way. In and out in 30 minutes, done and dusted. The dinner party afterwards was incredibly fun and I still cannot believe that the bride and groom was able to find a place willing to cook western food that weren't on their menu to help accommodate the guests that weren't the biggest fans of Japanese food. But now I can say that I've had tomato sauce with sushi and can confirm it is as bad as it sounds. Fresh wasabi is a different beast altogether. I would have the smallest amounts and still need water when usually that same amount I wouldn't need any water.I adored that there was still some snow around, unfortunately only at the temple but I still poked it and it wasn't just ice, it was actually snow. How incredible to not have to travel 3+ hours to reach a snowy mountain but to just have it right in front of you! Akihabara is exactly what you would expect, down to the women who work at maid cafes on the street handing out fliers to try and gain more customers. Gacha machines were everywhere. The secondhand anime shops were surprisingly a bit more expensive than expected but compared to home prices, still cheaper by a long shot. I do recommend buying things elsewhere because it'll be found cheaper away from such a touristy area. The Pokemon Center, in all of it's glory, was surprisingly a let down. All the videos online are pretty much exactly what they are and there wasn't really anything else to them. The only one I would recommend is the main Tokyo one that's in the shopping centre and the Sky Tree one because of how cool the Rayquaza statues are, since you're already at the Sky Tree so you might as well. Kamakura was such a beautiful location. Not too far from the beach, largest Buddha statue in the country and some incredible gardens and temples there with breathtaking views. If you go to Japan, you have to visit here. Anime merch here was very cheap and so was everything else. Nara and the deer was so fun, or scary if you get chased. I can now say I've seen deer cross the road using traffic lights though and that's just fun! Surprisingly this was also the first place where I found actual craft beer and it was amazing. 10/10 would go again. Hakone was probably the highlight of the trip as it was nonstop amazing. The traditional Japanese hotel with tatami mats, tattoo friendly bath houses, the location of NERV and the cutest bread I've ever had. I can rant and rave at how amazing this place is as it was definitely a major highlight of the trip. It makes me wish I lived in Japan for this place to be a mere shinkansen away. Osaka was the last location and the food there was to die for. I was lucky enough to be there during two festivals and I couldn't believe the amount of people that were cramming into the streets to attend. I will never complain about any convention capacity ever again. I also saw some idols performing there and they were all so cute!

@mastergemma That sounds amazing! I've only left the country once and I really hope I get to travel more~ Maybe one day...

Writing my bachelor's thesis right now. The work is like 60% done and as far as I understand the end of this month is my deadline. I'm tired lol
dragonii • 18 June 2024 at 9:05 AM
@twilightshine YES! It is a dovoo! They just happen to be wearing a lot of clothes that cover up a lot of the main features of one except for the needles, body color and eyes.@siblaime you got this!--I forget how much I'm not actually active in the forms on eggcave, haha. I made a form topic before I went to bed. And now I'm just not sure if I did it correctly, cause I can't remember Online form etiquette since I'm not often in forms anymore.

Home from vacation on Rhodes. I miss all the friendly cats. Sigh. The majority of the local cats are so skittish and unfriendly they don't want to say hi to me. âšī¸ I may or may not have been tempted to kitnap a tiny ginger kitten, and I know my brother felt the same. By God he was adorable. But really. It was fascinating to watch these cats handle traffic and compare it to the roaming local cats who completely lacks a fear of cars in comparison. I honestly think it's a matter of natural selection. Also, I had a chat with a lady who was running a "cat village". In that tiny town they had more cats than people. This woman had 90 cats. Talk about crazy cat lady. XD

@hikanu all of a sudden I've decided I want to move to Rhodes for no particular reason at allSeriously that sounds like heaven, I love love love cats. Whenever I meet a really friendly one out on a walk somewhere I'm happy for the rest of the day â¤ī¸
hikanu • 26 June 2024 at 3:00 AM
@amethyst_elf448 I feel you, but the weather would absolutely do me in. It was so hot.I do meet two friendly neighborhood cats from time to time that won't mind me petting them, then there's a third that would rather play with me than let me pet it. The rest are skittish and run away.

Fireworks are scaring my cat I wish I can move far away from this town to a quiet cottage so I can have quiet and woods to explore again. Rent is getting too high and without a car cause insurance is too high im forced to live close to work I feel trapped but on the lighter side of things my cat is back inside and is getting lots of snuggles!

Finally back home after waiting for my train for 27 additional minutes. Honestly that was a disaster. At least my meeting went well. I may not have a job yet, but at least it appears I'll have an internship/trial period sort of situation next week. I'll be meeting the boss of a supermarket on the 17th. One thing that did freak me out last week was... Back in March I had a dream that I was going to a job interview in a building I'd never been to before. It did not go well, I was dressed horribly and wasn't in any way presentable to the outside world. Last week I got a notice for a meeting that required my attendance in that same building, because that is where the people who were going to help me find an internship has their office. Thankfully it went well. Even the lady I met with thought it was extremely bizare when I told her. XD

Less than TWO MORE DAYS UNTIL ARK VICTORY WEEK! : D- - - - - - - - -19 July 2024 ~ 1:30 PMPSA - Support your local restaurants /eateries/ etc when you dine out/order in ! ! ! The food usually tastes way better than chain food and you get more for your buck.(provided you're not like in one of those places where a McD's in a gas station is the only establishment for 200 miles.)(Just super impressed again with a little place in the next town over. I mean I always carry the sentiment of supporting local businesses, but I'm thrilled anew ; D My heart swelled with joy, my taste buds excited.)

Had my first day as a grocery store trainee today. It was actually quite satisfying trimming shelves all day. Although after 3 hours in the same aisle making sure everything was stocked and within the customer's reach... I was considerably tired of knocking over cat food and dog treats. XDI don't know if it's a record.. (Probably not) but I hadn't even worked for 10 minutes before I had a customer ask me something. XDAlso... You wouldn't believe the amount of cardboard I've removed from shelves today. I can't even believe how much cardboard it was.

Week 2 done. Blessed be the weekend. I am exhausted. I have no words for how exhausted I am. I could sleep standing if it wasn't for my feet aching. But I do know I'm so tired that the fact my train is two minutes late is almost too much for me to mentally handle right now. Especially because the train going in the opposite direction is perfectly on time.

I've been playing a range of mobile games recently, primarily Egg Inc. and My Sushi Story. These have been sustaining me on work breaks and both I would recommend! I own a steam deck now and because of that I do not have to rely on my laptop for my gaming needs which is the best considering my laptop is aging poorly. Now I only use it for mainly Egg Cave and Flight Rising. I've been playing a lot of board games lately and it has been pretty fun but it's always the same people which is fine, but I would enjoy playing with other friends too. Work has been fine, not much to say about that. These are pretty much the dot points of my life right now.
