Yeah. I tried going back to sleep but I couldnt. Instead, I slipped into a semi- conscious state and "woke up" at 6:10. What a great life 😋

I know SO much people who procrastinate until, literally, the last minute. They stay up for, like, 5:30 and get only 30 minutes of sleep. 😱

I think though, that schools give out far too much homework. I remember questioning so many teachers on if they were aware I had other classes to get work done for too, as well as a job. 😋
I think if they cut the homework amount down it wouldn't be left to the last minute as much as it is..

Been having a semi-productive day so far! I've started my painting, which I've decided is going to be a self-portrait, and I'm making it with a palette knife, which has a really nice impasto effect. So far I've just done the background colour, and my plan is to let it dry and start painting myself tomorrow or the day after. I've never tried this technique before, so I'm really excited!

😱 I can do self portraits! At least... I have really good contour lines...

Until I get to the SHADOWS *shudders*. I just CAN'T do shadows. After 7 years of drawing (I'm 12 😋 ), I have given up on shadowing. I do cartoon/anime art now, not realistic.

I actually find shadows to be the funnest part. Especially on things such as faces.
My style and subjects vary a lot, as I like to experiment. (Guess I could just show examples, to anyone that cares to see) Not that great with people either, though really, it's not like you always have to make them look like people to make them be recognized as such.

Work was weird tonight compared to last night.
Last night everyone seemed like they were ready to rip my head off just because I was there.
Tonight everyone was really friendly as they usually are.
I accidentally knocked some shots off the bench and freaked out thinking they were broken....plastic.

My best guy friend is doing the deb in a couple of months.
His sister is the special dance for him, but there's a pretty big chance she won't be able to make it, so I'm apparently next in line for that.
I can't dance.

Today's been pretty fun! I've finished off my second entry for the CDWC, and done all of the preparation for tonight's dinner, which is going to be pizzas! So far I've made my sauce and my dough, and fried off some garlic mushrooms (best smell ever), so I can rest for the time being. Later on I'll sort out the other toppings, and make a basic salad, just to have on the side. I also resolved to take more pictures of my life in general, after being inspired by Tumblr- so my camera battery's currently having a much needed charge. I want to take one of my pizza dough in particular, as it's gotten huge!

Don't really do much Eggcave art, but figured I'd include this anyways.

This is my most preferred sort of style, but it tends not to be requested (At all ever). And yeah, the signature's spelled wrong. That's just part of a dumb joke that's got nothing to do with this place.

I'm very good at sitting there for long periods of time making plans and sketches, and then barely following them through when it comes to actually drawing the things.

As for the paintings of Josephine Wall, I just looked at some, and they're quite beautiful.

I really can't use paints at all. I'm better at drawing things in MS paint using a mouse than actually painting. At least for now, I mostly prefer working with limited colors, and things such as paints like getting in the way of that.

You'll get better with practice! (Some of my old art was pretty cringeworthy)
As for shadows, you can try to observe how they work in real life. If it makes things easier, you could also use a reference photo, as the image and it's shadows will always be viewed in the same perspective.

Well, I kind of have given up, because I've been trying nonstop to do shadows since I was 6 and I still couldn't. 6 years later :/
Shadows just aren't my thing.
