@growler
Forgive me, but Yahoo Answers is in no way concrete proof. Also, you seem to have a poor grasp of elven culture. Family is not a common practice for elves; they don't marry, they just take mates for however long they decide to keep them. Most relationships are very short, and elven children are extremely rare. Because they're so rare, the culture holds them very highly. Their magic is purer than an adult's, and they're cared for by pretty much everybody.

Deleted • 28 April 2012 at 3:55 PM

@growler I really don't think so because I don't trust Wiki and Yahoo answers. Why does it matter if you have purple eyes or not?

Deleted • 28 April 2012 at 3:59 PM

@hedwig68 because it changes her looks, and makes her special in my mind. i like the color purple, and i cant really see her as the person i made her as if i have to chage her hair color, past, and eyecolor. she will look compleltly different! and, its accually possible to occur. its all over the place on the web, ou dont even have to look at wikapedia or yahoo answers.

@growler Well I don't trust any of the websites you found proof on. I never have. Her eyes can be dark blue which is pretty close and her hair can be silver which won't look much different.

@hedwig68
@growler Whatever, man. This is not my problem.

Ceren approached Rynia and Sky, waving slightly as he did so. His bare, muscled arms swung as he walked. "Good morning!" he called out to them, shedding any sadness. He simply had no desire to entertain it at the moment. "You're looking lovely today, Sky." He grinned mischievously. "How are lessons for the both of you?" The breeze tugged lightly at his silver hair, cooling his head and neck. He was beginning to feel quite hungry; he'd made up his mind to cut this morning's run short. "Have you eaten yet?" he added, wondering if they might accompany him.

its a mutation called Alexandria's Genesis, which changed normally blue eyes to purple. so, can her eyes at least keep there color? it is natural just very,very rare. :/

@growler I guess...I mean I guess it don't matter.....

Sky nodded, "Thank you Ceren," she thought and yawned. Rynia looked up at Ceren smiling,"Good morning Ceren, how are you doing?" She said still noting the look on his face moments before. "Lessons have been great though almost ever human I have been training seem to have feet made of lead." She commented and Sky licked her chomps, "We have been very busy so no we haven't had time to eat yet." She said and lifted her head up so that she could feel the breeze.

@growler There is no such thing as an elf with blonde hair and purple eyes. O_O I agree with @silver_winged and @hedwig68 . And i kind of strikes me as Mary Sue-ish how your charactor is so perfect how she's the only elf with blonde hair and purple eyes. It's also fine with me if you quit this roleplay O_O And i don't really trust any of the websites you found "Proof" on either.

Anywayz....

@bunnyshadow

Joseph dismissed Kyle and began to think, "What should I do?" He asked Crimson. Crimson snorted, "I don't care as long as I get to kill some people." He thought then said, "But I would wait get more powerful and maybe wait so that Sylvia can continue to give us info on what Etagon and staff are doing." He said.

@bunnyshadow Ceren and Rynia are about to head to the dining hall. Sylvia could be there? Also . . . please never make a character like that. I feel a sort of mentor-y responsibility for you (and a little for @hedwig68 too) and it would break my heart to see you roleplay with that awful a Mary Sue. Also, always always do your research before making a character that's outside your personal experience. In this case, it was knowledge about the elves: how they should look, their culture, etc. Always assume there is someone on the topic who knows more about it than you do. Also, a sob-story history may seem glamorous and sympathy-deserving to you (the roleplayer), but it just makes everyone else roll their eyes. It's the calling card of inexperienced roleplayers who want their characters to be special. If you want your character to have something sad in their past, have it come from something the character actually DID, not from something that happened to them. (If that needs further explanation, I'll use Ceren as an example. I don't mention his past much because he doesn't need to wave it around to get attention.) Also, @bunnyshadow, I know you like purple eyes, but I would recommend avoiding it just because of its Mary Sue connotations. You don't have to, but it's a good suggestion if you want to be taken seriously.

Now . . . give me a breaker so I can reply? X3 I just want you two to be good roleplayers!

Deleted • 28 April 2012 at 6:23 PM

@silver_winged You know much about roleplaying, don't you? Would you mind telling me if my charater fits the guidelines for this particular roleplay, or something I may need to change for it? Also, what is a mary sue? Can you tell I am rather new at doing this?

@alexandrias I've got some experience when it comes to roleplaying, yes. ^^ Everything about your character is fine, except for the name. Off the top of my head, some names from the books are Eragon, Arya, Islanzadi, Oromis, Faolin, Glenwing, and Kialandi (I think). Try to make your name something of that style, unless his parents gave him a human name on purpose. A Mary Sue is a character that breaks the reader's willing suspension of disbelief. In other words, it's a character that is so unrealistic it elicits a sarcastic "yeah right!" from the reader. Usually it's because the character is too perfect; they are extremely beautiful and strong and talented, etc. Sometimes it's simply because they're ridiculous. This is in the vein of sob-story pasts; for instance, abandoned by parents at age 5 and raised self is very Mary Sue. Sometimes it's because the character is described as loved by everyone, while they behave in a way that makes this very unlikely. If you want more information on Mary Sues, I would check tvtropes.org and urbandictionary.
@bunnyshadow You'll grow out of it, I promise. c:

. . . I think I need another breaker. Ack!

A Mary Sue is like a perfect character.

Deleted • 28 April 2012 at 6:48 PM

@silver_winged Alright then. Thank you for your advice, and i will try to find a decent name for my charater. Does his parents getting killed by a shade and him moving in with his grandmother count as mary sueish?

@ alexandrias For a new roleplayer, you're already very good. Know why? c: You want to be better, and you're willing to learn. It's very important to be willing to change for the better! Don't get set in your ways like our friend growler over there.

"You're quite welcome," Ceren replied, bowing deeply to the dragon. He winked at Rynia once more as he straightened up, quickly enough for her to wonder whether it had happened at all. "I am quite well," he replied warmly. "The weather is quite lovely this morning, especially for a run . . . or a fly," he added, flashing a smile at Sky. "Humans need a little more time than we do, though in a few years, they'll be just as agile. It's only a matter of time. If you are hungry, would you like to come with me to breakfast?" He directed this question at both dragon and rider, motioning with a tilt of his head toward the castle. "That is, if you are not already preoccupied."

@hedwig68
Edit: @alexandrias The only active shade for the last 100 years is Durza, and at that time, the elves were hidden away in the forest. It's implausible . . . and a little Sue-ish, if executed poorly. A lot of times, Mary Sue qualities are exemplified or even created by bad writing. ^^; If you really wanted to, you could swing it. And the name you posted on my wall is fine.
