@silver_winged oh, sorry, I didnt know the shades where inactive. I'll change that, thanks for telling me. Any good, decent ideas on how they may have been killed? I'm sorry if i'm asking you too many questions, I just want to make sure I become a decent roleplayer.

Depending on how old he is, his parents could have been killed when Galbatorix captured the elven cities that would have been within the Empire (like Ilirea). I don't mind the questions at all, I admire your resolve. ^^ Anything else I can help you with?

@bunnyshadow She could stand some character development to give her a little more depth. And the outlandish hair and eyes really isn't working in your favor. ^^; And you do tend to lean toward melodramatic pasts . . . As I said earlier, make it something she did, not something that was done
to her.

I also get the feeling you base her off yourself. This is rarely a good tactic.

(This is a two-way street. If Ceren seems Sue-y, tell me what I'm doing wrong.)

Rynia nodded, "That would be great, we haven't eaten all night," she said and stood up. She looked at him and asked the question that had been in her mind, "Why did you look so sad a few moments ago?" She asked with a curious voice. Sky nodded and looks at Ceren. She was as curious as Rynia and wasn't sure whether it was just Rynia's curiousness or her own that made her wonder too.

Saria and Firan smiled and sat down by the river. Saria and Firan sighed simultaneously. They laid down and looked at the beautiful blue sky. Saria smiled as she thought about how beautiful the island was and Firan was just enjoying the warm sun on his scales. They were happy in this beautiful place and what made it better was that they were together.

Ceren offered his hand to Rynia, though retracted it when she stood on her own. He motioned for the two of them to follow, and set off at an easy pace for the castle. His long strides carried him quickly, and he consciously had to control his pace so that he would not leave either of them behind. His smile faded slightly at Rynia's question, and his eyes became softer. "I, ah . . . " He shook his head, a spray of silver hair falling over his eyes. "It's something that happened a while ago."

Rynia nodded, "Well what was it?" She wouldn't pesture him but she was curious. Sky nodded and thought, "Ceren we have time and would like to hear. You know you can trust us." Sky shook her head slightly as a stronger breeze passed by. Rynia smiled reassuringly at him agreeing with Sky. She wondered what Ceren was hiding, was it something bad or embarrassing?

"It was my folly," he explained to Saria, holding her gaze as they walked. His tone was not evasive, though he did speak rather quickly. It was at Sky's insistence that he stopped, coming to a halt in the middle of the dirt path. He stared forward, silent and unmoving like a statue. "I come from a village very close to the edge of the forest," he explained softly. "I would often disguise myself with magic and go out to the human city of Ceunon. While I was there, I met a human girl." He did not turn around.

Rynia came to a halt and listened intently as Ceren spoke. She nodded her head and gave him a smile as if to encourage him to continue. Sky listened and nodded at the same time Rynia did as Ceren spoke.

The wind picked up again, and for a moment, the only sound that could be heard was the rustling of the trees. "But humans aren't meant to live forever." He turned around to face her, and as he opened his eyes, he again seemed as old as he truly was. There was a tiredness in the line of his mouth, and melancholy in his eyes. "I should have known better," he said simply. His tone was defeated. "It was my folly." He began to walk again toward the castle, his head hung low.

Rynia had understood the minute he had begun but had never it to be like this as Ceren walked toward the castle she ran over. Once she caught up with him she laid a hand in his shoulder and said softly, "Oh Ceren I know it hurts but it's never a folly to fall in love. You can't help when you do or when you don't, it just comes. There is no way to stop it and this isn't your fault. All creatures die but it just happened to be he time long before your's. You can't blame yourself for this it was fate for elves to love longer and I believe that whomever you were in love with would want you to still be alive and healthy, to keep her memory in your heart." She looked at him and nodded. Sky looked down at Ceren and said, "Ceren reverse the matter and pretend you were the human and she was the elf and you died. Would you want the girl to live a long, healthy life but still cherishing your memory or saying that it was her fault that you fell in love and then you died." She said almost as softly as Rynia.

His eyes were rimmed with tears, which he blinked hastily away. "Come now, Rynia. Her memory is more alive than I am. The second half of my soul bears her name." My Kvaya, he thought in a whisper, brushing his mind against hers. He was met with a warm embrace, and they held each other like this, in the depths of their minds. His arms were empty.

Rynia shook her head, "You took nothing from her, if she loved you and being with you then you didn't take anything. You gave her your love and that is the best thing you could have done. She must have loved you and I think even if she knew you were an elf she wouldn't have cared. She loved you for who you were not for what race you were. Ceren she would have wanted you to be alive and happy not moping over her. If she were hear she would say the same thing and I know it. She would have looked you in the eye and said exactly what I am saying and I know. I may not have known her but I know she would say what I am saying now. She would say that she loved you and that she knew you loved her too but that you had to move on. To keep her in your heart but not dwell on her for the rest of your long life. To live life and have an amazing life." Rynia said softly keeping her hand on his shoulder. Sky looked down at Ceren once again and said, "Ceren we speak the truth and you know it." She said again as softly as Rynia.

Kerain walked towards the two, but kept his distance and adverted his eyes when he noticed them talking. He waited patintly for them to finish talking so he could get directions to the training grounds, as he had just arrived late last night.

Saria walked away from the lake with Firan next to her. She rubbed his neck and he hummed. They took in the fresh air and smiled at each other. They were soon back at the Palace and saw a boy. They walked over and Saria smiled, "Hi I am Saria." She said and said the elven greeting. Firan nodded, "I am Firan."

Kerain smiled a bit at her. "hello, my name is Kerain, no last name." he said with a half smile as her returned the greeting. He looked at firan, and bowed. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but I am quite curious. Is it true that dragons preffer certain meat types over others?" He asked, looking embarreased.

Saria smiled, "Nice to meet you Kerain." She smiled at Firan and patted his neck. Firan raised an eyebrow, "Well we are dragons so our brains are much larger than your and we are much more advanced. So let me ask you this: Do people prefer certain meats over others?" He said in his usual deep voice.
