@silver_winged

Name: Saya Ristean
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Hair: Short brown with red highlights, cut perfectly so it reaches about an inch above her shoulders.
Eyes: Deep dark brown.
Clothes: Stereotypical Ranger outfit, very new and well kept. (reference: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/0/00/Spr_BW_Pokmon_Ranger_F.png)
Other (appearance): Average hight for a teenage girl, though very thin. Her nimbleness makes up for her lack of strength.
Other (general): Saya has trained with her single Pokemon for seven years and only recently became a Ranger. A scarring childhood memory drives her to do her best as a trainer and a Ranger, in any situation.
Trainer type: Ranger (Is this allowed?)
Starting Pokemon: Female Vulpix ~ Hope it's not too repetitive as I see someone with one already and Absol is probably not allowed.

Wow, my form is a mess, haha. I hope joining in the middle is allowed not to mention too untoward, but I've really had a hankering for Pokemon roleplay as strange as that sounds.

I love rangers. ^^ My only problem is that a ranger wouldn't fit very well in this roleplay. Rangers are pretty stable in that they're assigned to a certain place and do their patrols around that place, kind of like police officers. The main group in this roleplay is going to be doing a lot of traveling to go to gyms and participate in contests. I find this to be incompatible with a ranger character, but if you have an idea on how to make it work, I'd be willing to listen.

Noah chuckled to himself as he watched Joule race in front of him, apparently just wanting to run at the head of the pack. His amused look quickly turned perplexed as another Pokemon raced to catch up with her. It appeared to be an Abra.

He slowed to a jog and glanced over his shoulder as the Pokemon's trainer called out for him. With an amused smirk, he slowed further, allowing the other boy to catch up. That Abra certainly had a penchant for running away, and Noah guessed that its trainer would be in pretty good cardiovascular shape by the time he got it under control.

"Can I help you?" he asked in a fairly serious tone. The arch of his eyebrows proved that he was only joking.

@silver_winged Hmm... This is reaching but perhaps she's a different kind of Ranger that travels? Or...! Maybe she's an ex-Ranger! Eh? Eh?

An ex-ranger is still just a regular old trainer. ^^; Would you mind that?

@silver_winged Gah, forget it. I'll think up a new story or character, this is too much work. *goes to revise form*

Edit: Aaand, here we go. New form. Edit2: Changed the name. xP

Name: Cody Zwaard
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Hair: Brown, semi-short and slightly messy.
Eyes: Bright blue and filled with determination most of the time.
Clothes: Wears a green jacket which he leaves unzipped to reveal a white t-shirt with a red Pokeball outline on it. He also wears red sneakers and blue jeans.
Other (appearance): Cody is pretty much the same as every average 15 year old, he is normal height and weight and is very into video games.
Other (general): He got his own Pokemon at age 10 but his parents wouldn't allow him to leave his home until age 14, and that was with much persuasion. Cody is very attached to his Ralts and is very determined to help it become strong, evolve and help him to achieve his ultimate goal- Becoming the Champion of the Hoenn region.
Trainer type: Trainer
Starting Pokemon: Male Ralts

Berry appeared distressed by the poor vulpix's reaction to the water, but recovered quickly, this time blowing a much smaller bubble.

Kiara smiled. "Fire pokemon are so fascinating..." she remarked. "But I have to say my knowledge of them is limited, other than first aid for fire pokemon who accidently wander into the splash zone at work. We had quite a scare with a young trainer's charmander, let me tell you... his tail fire almost went out after a staryu did a water gun a little too far into the crowd..."

Cinder stared at the bubble of water for a minute and then she leaned forward and popped it with her nose. "Vulll," she said in delight when water did land on her face.

Sirius nodded, "Yeah, I know practically nothing about water-types." When she mentioned the Charmandee he nodded critically, "Yes, when a Charmander's tail flame is weak they are usually sick, and if it's blown out they die." He said, he voice sad.

Pausing to a near stop next to Noah, Wren grinned sheepishly again, panting. He leveled with the boy's pace, shoulder slightly brushing his but just then noticed the 'serious' expression. Inwardly, he couldn't help but shudder from the bright blue eyes fixed on his own.
"Sorry for that, I didn't mean to slow you. It's just that Souke here... He does what he wants." he rubbed the back of his neck.

At that, he motioned towards the Abra, that trotted ahead, trying to catch up with Joule. It waggled from side to side, letting out quiet squeaps as if to attract the Electrike's attention. It seemed as no matter how anti-social the Abra was, it still wanted a friend to play with - Wren couldn't help but find it adorable.

However, the main problem on hand was the pokemon's general behaviour. It was embarrassing to be bossed around by his own Abra, having to run after him the entire time. Souke did what he wanted and Wren could only trail after the pokemon miserably. He didn't want to appear weak, especially in front of the strangely nice blue-haired boy.

Kiara watched as the two pokemon continued the game. It really was amusing to see the two of them play.

"We had to stop the show at that point, but fortunately, we all knew our first aid, and even more fortunately, Nurse Joy was watching that day." she said. "After that, trainers were required to register their pokemon at the front desk before the show. That way, we would know if we needed to be more careful."

Sirius nodded slowly, his gaze on the Pokemon. "Yeah, that poor trainer must have been scared to death. It wasn't your fault however, the trainers knew the risks." He said, his voice thoughtful. "You were lucky though and everyone left unharmed so if was all ok in the end," he finally said.

She smiled.

"I wasn't in charge of the staryu. That was another girl. She was mortified and wouldn't perform for a month after that." she explained. "To be honest, I wasn't even performing at the time. I was in charge of ticket sales that day."

Sirius nodded, "It can be mortifying to have skemjne so drastic happen on your watch. She did begin to perform again, right?" He asked curiously, his eyes still watching the Pokemon carefully, his mouth forming an amused smile.

"Eventually. But she only agreed to start doing shows again on the condition that she only did the school groups. They weren't allowed to bring their pokemon to school, so she never had to worry about anything like that happening again." she said. "But that opened up a lot of shifts for me, so I got pretty good at directing the pokemon. But my ability lies strictly with water-types..."

Sirius thought for a moment and then said, "What do you mean? What did you do with the Pokemon on the shows? How did they know to do certain moves and certain times?" He asked, his voice thoughtful as he spoke. The wheels in his head could practically be heard as they turned and a thought was forming in his head.

Kiara smiled. "Well, we taught them triks when they were pretty young... nothing too exciting, just watergun, bubble and any particular moves that we figured would be interesting. As far as cueing them goes, it was hand signals and pokeblock treats. When they were taught the tricks, each was associated with a hand signal, so they knew what to do based on their coordinators movements."

Sounds fine to me. ^^ Accepted! Welcome to the roleplay.

@jupiter_hollow

"That's all right," Noah responded in an easygoing tone. His faux-serious expression melted into a slight laugh. "I just don't want to keep the others waiting too long. I told them I'd be back soon, but I suppose I could just blame it on you." He stared right into the other boy's eyes for a moment in a manner that was almost threatening. He had nice eyes, Noah couldn't help but notice. Warm, good-natured. His Pokemon would most likely grow to cherish him. Then Noah's composure broke, and he looked away to start laughing. "No, but really," he assured the boy after a moment. "It's no problem."

Joule continued her trot forward, ambling pleasantly through the short grass. It was only when the Abra started making noise that she decided to pay it any attention. With crisp steps she doubled back. The Abra was taller than she was by nearly a whole foot, and this made her slightly uncomfortable. She squared her shoulders and raised her head to appear taller, and fluffed out her thick fur to appear overall bigger. Tiny sparks of electricity went off at the tips of her hairs every few seconds. Her nose wiggled as she sniffed the Abra, trying to determine more about it. The creature was nothing like she had ever seen before.

@silver_winged Ohmigawsh, cute little proud Joule :'D

"Oh, that works too." Wren nodded with a chuckle too, agreeing to be blamed for the inconvenience of being late. "'m glad to hear you're okay with me bothering you." Truth be told, he didn't mind taking the blame if it meant spending more time with Noah - he seemed to be experienced, despite having just gotten his pokemon, and acted like a veteran trainer would, keeping in mind to take care of his pokemon. In him, Wren saw a potential partner, teacher and ...friend.
"...I never got your name. I'm Wren. Well, no, my last name is, but not exactly like... Actually, my real... Just call me Wren." he stumbled over a few sets of words and scentences before choosing not to confuse the boy. Blowing a particularly irking strand of brown hair from his face, he grinned in response to the boy's laugh.

Souke leveled to the Electrike quickly, ceasing his squeaps and paused in front of it, cocking his large head to the side, while observing her actions. It baffled him as to why it was attempting to make itself more threatening when the Abra meant it no harm. Standing in one place, he wagged his tail, taking his time to sniff around the other pokemon.

@jupiter_hollow

Noah continued to chuckle to himself, unaware that the other boy was taking his jokes a lot more seriously than he should. "You're not bothering me at all," he protested. "Besides, Pokemon will be Pokemon. That Abra looks like it's still really young."

Joule stiffened slightly every time the Abra moved, afraid it was going to dash off or even strike. After a few moments, however, she became satisfied that nothing was amiss. In much the same way she had done with Cinder, she crouched low to the ground and then dashed off toward Littleroot, inviting the Abra to chase her. Aware that the gangly two-legged creature couldn't run quite as fast as she could, she kept her speed down.

Noah just stared at the boy with raised eyebrows and a half-smile as he attempted to introduce himself. "Wren it is," he confirmed, eager for the other to stop trying. "I'm Noah. Nice to meet you. Her name is Joule," he said, gesturing with a slight flick of his hand toward the Electrike up ahead

@silver_winged Okay, I don't want you to unload the entire story on me or anything, but I just need to know where you all are currently, location-wise. I don't really want to assume and end up looking stupid or something. 😋 Oh, and the basic time of day would be nice to know as well.

Two trainers are currently in Oldale Town getting supplies (Sirius and Kiara; respectively, hedwig68 and dada_dragon). Noah and Wren (me and jupiter_hollow) are walking from Oldale to the lab because Noah forgot his bike. Cynder5's character is right by the lab with her Pokemon. It's late morning, like eleven. Weather's the same as it is in the description.

@silver_winged Thanks, it definitely helps. xP

Cody had turned fifteen only three days ago. He and his only Pokemon walked along route 102, heading back to Oldale town to use the Pokemon Center after hours of training. "Well, you've gotta evolve soon, Jason, we've been training for a long time now." Cody said to his Ralts as he walked straight through some long grass.

Suddenly a wild Lotad leapt out of the grass, letting out a small cry. Immediately Cody called out the first command. "Use Confusion!"

Jason focused on the little Pokemon, staring straight into it's tiny eyes. Before it could make a move, the Lotad fell to the ground unconscious, it had fainted.

"All right! That one was quicker than last time!" Cody exclaimed, before he noticed that Jason had begun to glow. He said nothing more as he watched in anticipation. Cody didn't know what an evolved Ralts looked like, it was all very exciting.

Then, as the light faded, he saw... A very girly looking Pokemon, it looked kind of like it was wearing a dress, and protruding from it's head were two red things that seemed to resemble hairclips.

"J-Jason?" Cody asked, skeptically.

Jason made a low growl, it didn't seem he was very pleased with this evolution either. He was, in fact, a Kirlia.

(I just figured you guys are farther in already, so it shouldn't be a big problem that I evolved Jason now? It has another evolution as well.)

@takatheeducatedkid
Actually, yours is the first Pokemon to evolve. The other trainers have barely been out thirty minutes. But if he got his Pokemon a few hours ago it would make sense that it's more experienced.

My biggest problem in Pokemon roleplays is striking a balance between the anime and the games. I've been thinking about how I'm going to work the experience/evolution system in this roleplay, since there's such a difference between the games and the anime. In the games, you only get experience if the enemy Pokemon faints, and it's calculated in concrete points. Evolution is done by levels. In the anime, experience is more like real life experience. They just kind of learn moves and become stronger the more they practice. Time has a lot to do with it.

I'm going to make an executive decision now and save myself some trouble later: experience and evolution are based on anime mechanics. Experience isn't calculated in points. You're fine with your Pokemon evolving, but just be aware that it's probably a rather odd occurrence for a "starter" to evolve on the first day, and that most of the other Pokemon have about zero battle experience.

Sorry for all the complications. I know it's hard to join a roleplay when it already has a few pages.

Well actually, since I hadn't read the other posts, I assumed that someone must have had their Pokemon evolve already. But if it helps any, I mentioned in my form that Cody owned his Pokemon since age 10, that means he could have trained it lightly while he was home for four and some years.

Though I don't want to like, look better than everyone else or anything so I'll try not to be too ambitious from now on, haha.

@silver_winged Awww, no more talking to your Leyma's butt ;-;

Once Joule dashed ahead, Souke, as if by chain reaction, immediatelly ran after her, resuming his previous squeaking and flailing around. The Abra's large tail wagged around, swatting the tall grass and ended up slowing him down more. A moment later, as if struck by lightning, it seemed to recall that he had the ability to teleport. Eager to catch the dynamic Electrike, he unsolidified, vanished and reappeared in a second right next to Joule.

"Nice t'meet you." he smiled from ear to ear. "You already know the troublemaker - Souke. They're getting along, I think." he pointed to the two pokemon chasing each other around in the grass. God forbid Souke deciding to 'play' though --Wren hoped the Electrike had nerves of steel in order to take the Abra's teleporting spree.

@jupiter_hollow I thought you didn't like the Leyma butt. X3

After a few seconds, Joule settled into stride. There was no way that Abra could catch up to her. However, she was immediately proven wrong--that little brown thing appeared out of nowhere and landed right next to her. She started into a sprint, clearly frightened by the teleportation.

Noah's eyes went wide as he watched his Pokemon take off. Listening to a Pokedex description didn't nearly do Electrikes justice. It seemed even a youngster like Joule could run faster than the eye could follow. It was easier for him to see the swooshing grass under her paws than it was to pick that little streak of yellow fur from a sea of green grass and fur.

"Looks like they're getting along just fine," he chuckled. "They look to be pretty evenly matched."

@silver_winged I loved that Leyma butt! ;A; How could you do this to me... *mourns Leyma's butt*

Startled from the electrike's rapid reaction and the change of directions, the Abra spun around in confusion at first, afterwards implying to run in the same direction as Joule. Flailing again, now the pokemon seemed more flustered and somehow appeared to be angry. His potential play buddy was afraid of him, he didn't like that.

Wren looked at the tall grass as well, managing to recognise the speck of brown among all green hues of the grass, but soon, it vanished from sight. He extended his neck to see further and inspect more ground, then ended up standing on the tips of his toes, but still couldn't locate the Abra.
" Do you see them? I can't see where they are." he called to Noah, slightly worried now.
