Grinning sheepishly at the blue-haired boy, Wren rubbed his neck, approaching both him and the Abra. He hadn't though about bringing any treats, since he hadn't expected such a troublesome pokemon on his hands - he didn't regret choosing an Abra but choosing THIS Abra was most probably a mistake.

"Completely slipped my mind." he admitted, walking over and crouching next to the boy, eyes trasnfixed on the eating pokemon. "Souke here likes teleporting a lot... And I think he doesn't like being hugged." he reached forward to pet the Abra, but Souke just drew away, eyeing the two of them while chewng the Pokeblock. Blowing off a puff of air, in a sigh and to blow a few strands off his face, Wren turned to Noah. "or touched."

Ashley smiled happyly. "Thanks Professor!" She said excitedly. "I'll take good care of it!" Ashley then ran out of the building and decided where to go next. "Probaly to Route 1."

"He probably just needs some time," Noah commented, staring down at the Abra for a moment more. Abras had massive heads but comparatively small mouths, and the petite shifting of its jaw as it chewed was cute in a way.

With a slight sigh, Noah buried his hand back into the pocket of his jeans, pulling out a handful of Pokeblocks. He picked out all the green ones, stuffed the rest back into his pocket, and then turned to the boy with the Abra. "You can have these," he said. The tips of his fingers brushed gently against the heel of the other boy's palm as he handed them over.

Hearing Sirius' comment about the Pokedex, Noah took out his own. It was a good idea to start collecting entries as soon as possible. "Abra," it reported, "the Psi Pokemon. Abra sleeps for eighteen hours a day. However, it can sense the presence of foes even while it is sleeping. In such a situation, this Pokmon immediately teleports to safety."

"Two down," he remarked with a smile. In a green and yellow blur, Joule sprinted past him with Cinder close behind. The electric type almost barreled right into his left ankle, going too fast for him to dodge; thankfully, she changed direction at the last second and shot back into the tall grass. Her fluffy tail fur brushed past him, and even through his jeans he could feel the hair on his legs stand up from the electricity.

@ashfire
I think you mean route 101. c: I would recommend catching up with some other characters now.

Kiara looked up from her pokedex. The electrike and the vulpix were rushing around, almost running into Noah.

This commotion caused her magikarp to become nervous and began flailing around, using the only attack it knew, which didn't hurt her at all, but it did make it difficult for her to hold onto him. The flailing threw her off-balance and she fell backwards, unable to catch herself, since she was holding onto her magikarp.

Noah closed and pocketed his Pokedex, staring after Joule and Cinder. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Kiara's Magikarp start flailing around, most likely startled by the two canine Pokemon. It must have been heavier than it looked, because Kiara rapidly began tipping backward.

"Woah!" he exclaimed, stepping over quickly and reaching out to keep her from falling. He caught her before she hit the ground, with his hands wrapped around her waist.

"Careful," he said, though suddenly regretting it slightly after it came out of his mouth. He tipped Kiara back onto her feet and stared at the Magikarp for a long moment. "I sure hope those things get smarter as they level up," he commented.

Sirius smiled as he watched Cinder run around, chasing after Joule. He had managed to find his Pokedex and had entered the Abra. He put it back in his bag and looked over at Noah and Kiara. "You ok?" He asked Kiara as she fell, though Noah managed to help her. He looked at Noah, "As they level up they do get smarter because when they level up enough they turn into a smart rage monster that destroys everything in their paths," he said chuckling.

Kiara smiled sheepishly.

"Thanks..." she said, brushing herself off. "The sooner we get to a pokemart, the better..."

"Well, she could always put it on a leash," he suggested in a serious tone. His grin betrayed him. "You're welcome, and Oldale is just up ahead." The Pokemart was already in full view, clearly visible by its bright blue roof.

From the grass, a savage bark rang out. It was a sound Noah had not heard either from the electrike or the vulpix; it must have been an entirely different Pokemon. He quickly grabbed his Pokedex again and waded into the knee-high grass.

Up ahead a short ways, Joule was poised in front of a small, dark canine Pokemon. It had spiky grey fur and red and yellow eyes, and a few sharp fangs poked out of its closed mouth.

"Poochyena," his Pokedex bleated, "the Bite Pokemon. At first sight, Poochyena takes a bite at anything that moves. This Pokemon chases after prey until the victim becomes exhausted. However, it may turn tail if the prey strikes back."

"A dark type," Noah read excitedly. "Cool! A little mangy, though . . ." He was actually somewhat glad that he hadn't bought any Pokeballs yet. Then he might have been socially obligated to catch it. "All right Joule, time for your first real battle! Use thunder wave!"

Sirius closed his Pokedex as it repeated the same thing as Noah's and he called, "Cinder come here and let them battle." He watched as the little canine-like pokemon run over and sit by his heels. He then turned his attention back to Noah and the Poochyena. He inspected the Pokemon closely, as he did with all Pokemon. He thought it was interesting to have incountered a drak type as few usually came out in the day.

Kiara watched the battle. She had little interest in the poocheyena. It could be cool once it evolved, but she preferred to stick to water pokemon. They were familiar and she would know what to expect when training them...

She did however pull out her pokedex and scan it. She might as well work on filling up the database...

The Poochyena dove to the side, narrowly avoiding a blast of blue lightning. It began to run forward, but Noah suspected that Joule was faster. "Tackle!" he ordered. She surged ahead in a blur, smashing into the Poochyena's chest with the flat edge of her skull.

The Poochyena tumbled backward through the grass and scrabbled to its feet, kicking up dirt as it went. However, instead of diving back in with another tackle, it took off toward the trees. "Hey!" he shouted after it, but the tall grass had already swallowed it whole. Feeling slightly embarrassed, he glanced over his shoulder at Kiara and Sirius and shrugged.

Joule stalked back to her trainer, looking dignified but upset. He reached down to pet her, but received another jolt of electricity. The static jump between her fur and his fingers caused an audible snapping noise.

"Let's just go the Pokemart," he muttered, rubbing his tingling fingers. Maybe he would invest in a pair of gloves.

Kiara pulled out her coin purse. She had about 3000 pokedollars... Pokeballs (last she checked) were 200... So she figured she'd buy 10, which would leave her with 1000 for later if she needed it.

She looked around Oldale town. It wasn't very big. There wasn't much more than a Pokemon Center, a Pokemart and a handful of cute, cottage-like houses. It was bigger than Littleroot, though...

Cinder noticed the city not to far ahead and without warning she took of towards it. Her short legs moving back and forth rapidly as she ran.

Sirius sighed and he watched her run, he knew that she wouldn't get to far ahead so he instead caught up with Noah and Kiara. "Am I the only one that found it strange that a Poochyena, a dark type, was out in broad daylight?" He asked them curiously. He had his money in his left pocket and he had no idea how much money he had in it. He didn't know what he'd buy but he knew he'd spend it mostly on Potions and Pokemkn food,

"Thanks!" he smiled widely, pocketing the Blocks in his jacket and leaving out just a few, that he attempted to feed to his Abra. Stubborn as the pokemon was, it refused to approach and waited until Wren had gotten infuriated enough to drop the block in the dust and move away towards the group.

He'd watched the battle closely, surprised at the Electrike's swift moves - it was mainly because of it's trainer's instructions but nevertheless, it was visible how much soul the pokemon invested into every move. Essential speed and tactical attacks, combined with grace. He smiled - it had been a brief, but beautiful battle.

He approached the trio and glanced at Sirius, who's pokemon was already far ahead.
"It could have been looking for prey, the Poochyena I mean. And tall grass is it's natural habitat if I remember right." he said, hands stuck in his pockets.

Noticing a shifting with the corner of his eye, he turned to see his Abra chewing the Block he'd left on the ground, nearly finishing it now. Grinning, he bent down, taking a block from his pocket and placed it down, maving away and waiting for Souke to come.

"Poochyena aren't nocturnal, I don't think," Noah replied. "Not all dark types only come out at night." He stuffed his hands back into the pocket of his sweatshirt, continuing on into Oldale.

It was a small town, with only a handful of houses, a single Pokemart, and a single Pokemon Center. He imagined that Littleroot overshadowed it considerably as the site of the Pokemon labs. Even so, it was quaint. There were far more trees than streetlamps, and around the central signpost, little flowerbeds had been planted. Noah hadn't had time to properly appreciate when he had flown through it on his bike.

His bike! "Shoot!" he shouted suddenly. "I left my bike outside the Pokemon Center." Quickly, he dug a thousand-Poke note out of his pocket and handed it to Kiara. "Get me as many Pokeballs as this'll buy. I'll catch up with you both soon." With that, he took off running back toward Littleroot. This way would be easier; he could hop down the ledges rather than going around them. Still, it would be a pain to have to come all the way back.

Joule, seeming excited by her trainer's newfound energy, rushed after and ahead of him.

Kiara accepted the money and nodded as he ran off, saying something about a bike. She put it in her purse and turned to Sirius.

"You're not opposed to going to the pokemart are you?" she asked. "I need to get me and Noah some pokeballs... apparently."

Sirius watched as Noah raced away to retrieve his bike, Joule in front of him. When the boy was finally out of sight Sirius turned back to Kiara, "Of course not, I need to get some potions, Pokemon food, and one or two Pokeballs in ways." He said, tapping the money that was in his pocket. "Let's go," he said and he took the lead, heading for the little blue building, where Cinder already sat, waiting.

Kiara followed, silently expressing her joy that she would no longer have to haul around a 22 pound magikarp all over Hoenn.

"Make sure you have your trainer ID ready. You need it to buy pokeballs... believe me..."

She had tried to do it without one... and they had flat-out refused. This of course was why she had to get her licence in the first place...

@silver_winged Whenever I chat with you, I feel like I'm talking to your Leyma's butt o-o @dada_dragon @hedwig68

It seemed as the group was about to split into two. Both the black-haired teens headed to the Pokemart while Blue-headed ran out to recollect his bike. Of course, he turned to join the boy and girl, being in need of pokeballs and blocks himself. And in order to lure his pokemon to follow, he placed out Pokeblocks in a neat path towards the center. Not a chance - the Abra had plans of his own and spun around, heading after Noah's Electrike, running hot on it's heels.

And again... Wren was left to stare after Souke.
"H-hey wait!" he squawked out, rushing to follow the pokemon, but not daring to catch it or touch it, out of fear that it would start teleporting again. With a colourful curse, he trailed after the pokemon and once it slowed to a slight trott, he paused too, to catch his breath.

They now both were right behind Noah. With a sigh, the boy acknowledged, his Abra seemed to like the coordinator more than his own trainer.
"Hey, wait up!" he implied to yell after the blue-haired boy, keen on making the journey (albeit pointless) at least a bit more enjoyable.

Sirius nodded quickly and he reached into his backpack and pulled out his license. He then nodded at Kiara, "Got yours?" He asked just to make sure. He noticed Cinder staring at him as if to say 'Hurry up! You are being slow and I want to go in!' Sirius chuckled and he picked up his speed a bit.

His fingers were tapping very slightly on the side of his leg as he walked, he had always done that, he never knew why but for some reason if he was nervous or very excited his fingers would do that. Keen to slop his fingers from continuing their tapping he shoved them in his pockets.

She smiled, letting the door close behind her.

"That'll come with time." she said. "You just have to keep working at it. Try getting a seel through a hoop sometime. Now THAT'S a challenge."

She approached the bored-looking girl at the counter. She had the look of someone used to the city and bored by small town life.

"Hey." she said. "Can I get 15 pokeballs?" She asked, holding out Noah's 1000 and her 2000.

"You must be one of the new trainers." she said, looking not at all interested. She grabbed the notes and handed her a bag containing the pokeballs. "Oh ya... you purchased more than ten, so you also get a premier ball..." She put another pokeball in the bag. This one was white, with the pokemart logo engraved on the bottom.

"Have a nice day." she said unenthusiastically, smirking a little at the Magikarp.

@dada_dragon How much would Pokemon food cost? It doesn't say in the game. XD

Sirius walked up after Kiara and said, "Six potions and one pokeball, please." He held out the 2000 pokedollars needed to buy the potions and pokeball. He noticed that Cinder was once again beside his left foot.

The bored looking girl took it without any enthusiasm. "Here you go," she said, holding out the stuff Sirius had bought. "Have a nice day." She said, yawning as she said it.

Sirius rolled his eyes and muttered something that sound like, "Lazy," under his breath. He then took the stuff from the girl and walked over to join Kiara, Cinder at his heels. "I have some Pokemon food in my backpack, it's not a lot but it might supply the Pokemon for a day or two." He told her quickly.

Kiara nodded and pulled out a pokeball, pushing the button. White light engulfed the magikarp and it disappeared into the pokeball. She clipped it onto her belt.

"Finally." she said, stretching. "Hands are free once again!"

She pulled out her map, scanning for nearby cities.

"When Noah gets back, we can take 102 to Petalburg." she said. "I can get a Lotad on the way. Once it evolves into a Lombre, it'll make a great show pokemon." she folded up the map again, pleased by the idea. "In the meantime, I wanna stop by the pokemon center."

Sirius chuckled as the girl stretched, "I guess lugging a Magicarp around with you everywhere can get kind of annoying.

When she mentioned heading towards Petalburg he nodded, "Sound good to me, besides, that's my hometown." He said with a grin, he sucked with directions but if they were heading for Petalburg then he knew exactly where they were going. "Why do you want to go to the Pokemon Center?" He asked her curiously a she mentioned it.

"Noah and I had that mini-battle back there, and I want Berry to be in top shape if I'm gonna catch a Lotad." she said, pushing the button on her horsea's pokeball.

Berry popped out and immediately began bouncing around cheerfully. It was as if she hadn't battled at all...

She pulled out her pokedex again. Quirky nature... Go figure...

Sirius nodded, "Oh, ok." As the Horsea came out if the pokeball, Sirius laughed, "Though she doesn't seem to need to be restdd anymore then she already is." He got to one knee so that he was closer to the Horsea and he said, "She quiet cute, and he attitude is exactly what can help with contests." He said as he got back to his feet.

Cinder walked closer to the Horsea and sniffed her curiously, "Vull?" She said with the slightest tilt of her head, almost as if she were trying to figure out what kind of Pokemon stood before her.

Berry smiled and blew a single bubble. She smiled at Cinder and jumped up on her tail and popped it with her nose. She blew another bubble and looked at Cinder expectantly. Kiara laughed.

"Bubble pop... It's a game horsea play. One blows a bubble, and they all try to pop it." she explained. "I've seen them play it for hours. It's a real crowd pleaser when you get a group of them doing it."

Cinder touched the bubble curiously, only the tip of her nose touching the bubble, when it popped. When it popped, the bit of water the bubble was made of splashed on Cinder's nose and she squeaked, backing up a bit. Since she was a fire-type she didn't like water much and it was quite a surprise for water to suddenly land in her snout.

Sirius laughed, "Looks like Cinder needs to work on her bubble pop skills. Poor thing is afraid of water by since you plan on having several water-types then I bet she'll get use to water after a while."
