"I don't know people," Kitty replied cooly, as Diamond started licking the remains of her sundae. Gross, Kitty thought. She hadn't really thought about that stuff when she bought him. "So, you want to be in Gryffindor?" She raised an eyebrow. "Feeling brave?" She taunted.

Kitty looked at the boy in outrage. He had just called her MEAN?!? Just then she saw Crystal being roughed up by some boys. She stood up abruptly (bumping the table and knocking Diamond over) and strode over to help her up, glaring at the boys.

Crystal got up and struggled against Kitty's grip she took a couple of swings at the "leader" and ended up giving him a bloody nose.
"First years." He mumbled under his bloody nose.
"Thanks, Kitty!" Crystal said while she ordered a ice cream and sat down by her friend.

They saw me fighting with Josh's girlfriend. Apparently she's cheating on him. She mumbled. "I have to tell him!" She got up but decided to stay awhile once she saw Lloyd. She had never had a crush or been in love before. It felt weird.

"You have to tell who what?" Kitty asked, lost. Then she saw her looking at the other boy. "Would you believe he said he thought I wanted to be in Slytherin?" Kitty asked, disgusted. "The one you told me was for the 'mean' and 'cruel' ones?!?"

Kitty was annoyed when Crystal was so friendly to the Gryffindor-wannabe, when she'd just told her how mean he'd been to her. Kitty didn't know the definition of a friend, never having had one, but she was pretty sure they were supposed to stand up for you. Hadn't she done that for Crystal? She slumped down into a chair and sighed.
This social stuff was much harder than she'd thought.
