Druids;

They're basically a form of fairy/Nymph that live in a tree. [I have her a flower. Not to live in, but just as a favorite plant] Full blooded druids have powers with natures, so I toned Chryssie's down cause it's mixed with witch blood. Druid's don't have stripes, but it's something I made up. A quirk that she has from the odd occurrence of mixing witch and druid blood.

All it does is shows when she's using her powers. They only glow a faint white.

Sunlight trickled in through the holes in the drab curtains, pooling on the hard wood paneled floor and wrenching Kitty from her dreamless sleep. It was a few minutes before she remembered it was her birthday. She sighed and swung her legs out of the bed. Maybe she'd go for a walk this morning. It always made her feel better.

Sarah Ann Parker skipped happily to her house,chatting with her school friends about the lastest gossip.
"Happy Birthday again, Sarah!" they shouted to her.
"Not for a few more days, you know that!" she shouted back, laughing.
Her party had been moved up a week, for her family had vaction plans. She laughed, and walked into her house, singing her favorite song, and completely oblivious to the fact that a rather large, grey owl was watching her.....

The small, quiet town of Sandford was in a dire state of disrepair. Kitty hated every bit of it. She longed to see the big cities and fancy hotels and streets packed full of shops.
Reminding herself every day how much she hated this place strengthened her resolve to work tirelessly to leave it. She couldn't stay here. After several hours had passed she was lured back to the orphanage by the prospect of food.

Apon entering her house, Sarah was greeted by the warm, sweet, sugarey smell that was a cake in the oven, and icing ready to beset apon it.
She was just about to walk to the kitchen when she was tackled by her small 6-year-old brother, Steven.
"Happy Birfday!" he shouted childishly, hugging his big sister.
"Whatcha going to wish for when you blow out your candles? Mommy said the Birfday candles are magic, and grants wishes." he laughed.
"That's a secert." she whispered to him, smiling.
/Mum (British, right? Lol XD) really needs to stop telling him wild stories, everyone knows theres no such thing as magic./ she thought to herself.
^ I just HAD to include that setence.... XD

Ooh, let's do comparison. xD

Upon returning home, or rather, back to the orphanage, as Kitty loathed to call it her home, the smell of very old mutton stew besieged her, attempting to incapacitate her with it's puke-worthy smell. Kitty, fortunately, was very used to the aroma and merely started breathing through her mouth. She knew most children had sugary cakes for their birthday and floated off in a daydream of pink icing and rich chocolate cake and little glowing candles.
She sat apart from the other children: none were near her age and she had no wish to make friends with a sniveling snotty four year old. She remembered gloatingly the time when the matron had tried to get her to help with changing the younger kid's diapers: angry boils had sprung up all over her face, and she'd cried in pain and ran from the room.

Our charries homes are total opposites. XD

After calming Steven down, she joined her Mum in the kitchen, helping are ice the white, pineapple cake with pink icing. She'd purposly squirted some on her fingers so she could lick the sweet icing off.
She laughed and joked with her Mum, and helped set the table for the Birthday diner.

Chryssie, weaving little flowers in and out of her hair, sang quietly to herself. A couple of weeks ago was her birthday, and she had gotten the letter that called her to Hogwarts. Smiling inwardly, she could hardly stop thinking of all the wonders her mother had hinted about. Ahh, her mother, the pure blood who bore a halfa. How she made her own parents proud.
Something above her head caught her attention. And then she saw it; a small butterfly; who's wings looked like they were purple, but dipped in blue paint. Gingerly it landed on the tip of her nose.
Tomorrow, she and her mother were going to go shopping. She had knowledge of one side of her powers - but didn't know a lick of the rest.

"Mum, I don't want to visit Muggles first!" a small girl whined as she dug her heels into the ground. Wrapped in ropes, she was dragged along by her mother's wand, and her mother didn't even turn to look at her as she whined and they exited their house.

"I don't either, Penelope, but I'm supposed to promote relations between Muggles and wizards - discreetly, of course - so you're learning what you'll be doing in the future," her mother informed her daughter as they got in their car. The chauffer, a Squib, was ready to go already, having been prepped on where he was taking them today.

Penelope puffed out her cheeks, but said no more. She was swiftly buckled in to the sleek black car as soon as the ropes fell, and after her mother was buckled in as well, they headed for a less fortunate area. They had a Muggle bank account, which money raised for the Muggles was kept. A check sat in Mrs. Ovander's purse, with the money they'd be donating today.

When Sarah's dad got home from work, they started the small family party.
They joked around, ate their chicken dinner, and sang songs. Even though it wasn't Sarah's real birthday yet, it sure did feel like it.
When it was time to blow out the candles, Sarah closed her eyes a decided to make a wish, like Steven said.
She decided on adventure, and was just about to blow out the candles when the cake exploded.
Sarah screeched in terror, while her Mum and Dad looked at each other, only somewhat confused. More worried, actually.
Steven started to laugh, and lick up the cake splattered on the table.
Sarah looked at her parents for an explaination, but they could offer her none.
(Was that ok? Her magic exploded the cake! ^^ )

Lloyd read over the letter for the fortieth time now just to be sure that it was real. He had heard his mother and father quietly arguing about it for some time now...
He was raised in the Muggle world and very much clueless about the wizarding world save for the few fantastical stories his mother told him every once in a while.
A long sigh. Lloyd tossed the letter back onto the pile of novels he buried himself in all summer. This was unreal... He was just a dreamer. Things like this happened to people in novels, but not in real life.

Kitty had long stopped actually eating the digusting orphanage meals. Hidden under her floorboards was a small stock of food she'd stolen from places in the town. She was on her way to her room she heard voices coming from the Matron's office. She peeked through the key hole and saw the back of a man wearing a gray coat. She heard her name being muttered. She walked backwards slowly, then turned and ran to her room, curling up on her bed.
She wasn't sure if she was excited or frightened.
He could be a relation come to take her away!
Or, he have found out about her stealing.....
She shivered.

Sarah was told to go upstairs with Stevdn while her parents cleaned up the mess.
She watched a few cartoons with her brother, but then decided to help her parents with the mysterious exploding cake mess.
She walked down stairs, but heard agrueing, so she hid and listened.
"It happened again! What is going on? Either way, we can't keep secerts forever!" he Mum wailed.
"Nothings going on, what that person said was probley just a joke." he Dad replied.
"But... I guess you're right...." he Mum sighed.
Sarah quickly snuck back upstairs. /What are they talking about!?!/ she thought to herself.
"Birdy!" she heard Steven laugh from upstairs. Sarah walked into the room to find a large owl sitting on the window sill.
"Shoo, Away!" Sarah commanded the owl, waving her arm, trying to get it to fly away.
That's when she noticed the note attached to it's leg.....

Cael flopped onto the couch. Sighing, he wondered when his letter would come. It was late! Almost a whole week late. Could be the weather, he thought, looking outside at the brewing storm. Cael felt sorry for the poor owl delivering his letter. Cael knew he was going to Hogwarts, both his parents were half-bloods!

Sarah carefully approached the owl and took the letter off it's leg. She uncurled it, and started to read.
"HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Minerva McGonagall
Dear Sarah Parker,
We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We switch your owl by no later than 31 July.
