Sarah's parents were right.
A man showed up at the house.
He had a long coat on, some beard stubble, and dark green eyes.
"Hello Mrs. and Mr. Parker. Hello Sarah." he smiled.
Sarah looked up at the man. "My parents told me what you told them. I'm... a witch???" she asked, looking at her feet.
"Yes, a witch being born to two Muggles isn't that unordinary." the man sighed. "Unfortantally." he muttered under his breath.
"Muggles?" Sarah asked.
"Non-magical beings." the man muttered. " I'm Athen, by the way." Athen held out his hand, and Sarah shook it warily.
It was time to leave home. She had told good bye to her parents and brother earily, but she was still sad.

@smilies so are all the kids gonna get on the train together? TOGETHOOOOOO--stop it. -____-;;

Cael spent the rest of the day lying on his back, reading the letter. It still made him happy, even though it wasn't a surprise. Finally he would be able to see what his older brother, Aidan was ranting on and on about. The next day, Cael and his family went shopping. Yay. He'd been here with his family before, and all the smells made him sick. Cael trudged behind his mother and Aidan until they came to the wand shop. At least this one didn't stink.

Sarah was lend to this place called the Leaky Cauldron, and went though a secert passage way, into this huge alley way with tons of shops.
"WOAH!" Sarah shouted, wide-eyed and looked around, taking everything in.
"Okay, we need to get you books, a wand, a cauldron, a robe, ect, ect, ect." Athen spewed out random school supplies, but Sarah wasn't paying attention.
"WAY better than going school shopping at JC Penny's." Sarah mumbled, amazed.

@redfire77 Yes. You can also meet in Diagon Alley (wizard shops)

Kitty looked around her, trying to take everything in. The alley was lined by the most amazing shops, eccentric witches passing by in hordes and excited wizards haggling over prices of thing like unicorn tail hairs and dragon liver. "Diagon Alley," Weatherby announced.
"Where first?" Kitty tore her eyes away from a sign that read, "Eeylops Owl Emporium - Tawny, Screech, Barn, Brown and Snowy."
"Gringotts, the wizard bank." Weatherby pulled Kitty through the crowd until they were in front of a huge marble building with giant bronze doors.

Sighing, Cael looked around for the person helping him choose his wand. "Hello?" He called. An old man appeared in front of him.
"Hello there, my dear boy," he said in a raspy voice, "let's see which wand chooses you today." What? Cael thought as he was being led into a dusty aisle. A brown stick was quickly shoved into his hand. The young boy peered at it and it began to spark. "AAUGH!" Cael started.
"No, no, too long," the man muttered beneath his breath. A series of wands were put into his hands. Cael's eyes began to droop. This was so boring, he thought. Suddenly, the man shouted, "Yes! This is the one! Perfect for you, don't you think? Olivewood and ebony, 13 inches, unicorn hair."

The next day, after 'keeping relations' with the Muggles took so long, Penelope and her mother headed to Diagon Alley. They strode through the Leaky Cauldron with purpose, noses a bit in the air, and it was clear they were pure-bloods that looked down on others. Penelope had at least been taught to tolerate Muggle-borns and half-bloods, but Muggles would always be low ranking on her list.

They entered Diagon Alley, and Penelope walked around as though she owned the place. She had plenty of money, a pouch of coins on her waist, and led the way to Ollivander's Wand Shop. Inside, an old man had just helped a boy find his wand. Clearing her throat, she stepped over.

"I'm here for my wand," she announced, giving off an air that made it clear she was a spoiled brat.

The old man was not surprised when he eyed her mother, and nodded. "Of course, of course..." he mumbled, but he turned back to the boy and motioned for someone from the back to come help Penelope.

Cael sighed. He was hoping for something more manly. Unicorn hair. Oh well. Looking to the door, he immediately disliked the girl in the doorway. Snob.

Probably an assistant, the young wandmaker got out his magical measuring tape, and let it take her measurements. Murmuring something to himself, he headed off and came back with about ten wands. Every time one was placed in the eleven year old's hands, it was taken back immediately. It was with the seventh one that the young man seemed satisfied. "Seven Galleons," he told Penelope, and she handed over the money immediately.

"Let's go, mother," she demanded, but her mother held her back.

"Penelope, sweetheart, this boy is going to Hogwarts, too," her mother told her, digging her nails into her daughter's shoulder.

Huffing, Penelope turned to the boy. "My name's Penelope Ovander. You best remember it," she told him, crossing her arms, wand in hand.

Behind her, her mother sighed in disappointment.

@taffy789
There are little bronze 'Knuts', medium silver 'Sickles', and fat gold 'Galleons'.
29 Knuts to a Sickle, 17 Sickles to a Galleon.
You don't, unless Sarah has wizarding money. She can have exchanged Muggle money for wizarding money, or just use the school guy's and get second hand stuff xP

"We want to take money out of Vault 199," Weatherby informed the goblin at the counter, clapping a hand on Kitty's shoulder.
"Who's vault is that?" Kitty asked, eyeing the goblin nervously.
"Yours," Weatherby informed me promptly.
"I have money?" Kitty asked, raising an eyebrow in disbelief.
"Oh yes. I knew your father, worked for the ministry." Weatherby told her, and wouldn't say anything more about it.
"Where now?" She asked, when she departed Gringotts with a fat pouch of gold.
"Check your school list."
Kitty looked.

@smilies - I'll use the school guy's. XD

Athen handed Sarah a few coins.
"I'll take you to the shops, and you can pick out what you want, okay?" he told her gruffly.
Sarah smiled, and they started to walked the alley, stopping at random shops to buy what they need.
An old robe, some worn text books,.. it took Sarah a while to figure out the wand, but appearently her wand was 12 inches long, and had some "Tounge of Toad" in it, or something. Gross.
Sarah then paused at a store. In it's window, a golden tabby cat basked in the sunlight.
It was orange and yellow, with brown splotches.
It then took her 10 mintues conviening Athen that techinacally, it WAS on the list.
Athen agrued back saying that a toad will be just as good.
Sarah agrued that her wand would offend a toad. Sarah eventually got the cat. (XD)

Crystal cradeled the little owl while Josh told the little guys story.
"I was going to get you a birthday present and this little guy was on the side of the road cooing with a heavy sign on him that said: can't feed please take! in scrawly handwriting! I took mercy and thought you would like him!"
Charlie has a name you know! Crystal scolded.
"Right, sorry." Josh muttered.
They stopped by the owl store and got Charlie a cage a toy and some food and treats. Josh pocked up a cat toy and put it in the pile.
"It's for Lady my cat." He explained to Crystal when she looked at him questionably.

@smilies - Sarah's is Dragon HeartString then. ^^

Sarah looked at the list. Have of the stuff was made out of animal parts, and that really made Sarah feel sick.
The other things were ugly clothes that everyone seemed okay wearing.
She wanted her blue jeans and T-shirts back.
At least she had a cat. She decided to call her Ginger.
"ok, that's all for now." Athen sighed. "Finally. I hate having to cart the Muggle Witches around."
"That's offensive to me,." Sarah piped up. "What's wrong with Muggles?
"Almost everything.' Athen muttered.

The books were easy. Next we went to Madame Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, which took about an hour as Kitty delighted in her new power of money, being able to chose the exact style. Weatherby argued that it said plain on the list, but Kitty ignored him. It was just a different cut, it WAS still 'plain', it said so on the label. Weatherby shrugged and gave in.
Kitty wanted a fancy telescope, but Weatherby pointed out people wouldn't like a stuck up show off. Kitty protested that she'd lived in an orphanage all her life, but didn't push it.
Next they entered the wand store. Kitty looked round at the thousands of narrow boxes containing wands apprehensively as they waited.

@smilies Hmmm, here is an extract of from a book I'm writing.

The robot lifted its sword to block the swing. Flying up to the sky, I clenched my sword with both hands and dove towards the robot, trying to disarm it. Flashing a cruel grin, it attempted to block my move again but I was a skilled fighter and with a twist of my hands, the robot?s sword flew out and skidded across the ground. I belted the robot with my tail and it flung away as well, crashing into a tree, instantly knocking it out.
(The narrator is a anthropomorphic dragon XD)

Larka Foxx sat at the dining table, scribbling a drawing frantically. She only looked down when her fat ginger cat brushed against her leg. She smiled and scratched behind his ear before looking back at the timer and scribbling furiously. Then, the timer beeped and she looked at her half-finished drawing. She let out a groan and heard her mom call, "Larka, you got a letter!" Larka (whom everybody calls Fox) got off the chair and dashed to the living room. She saw the letter, opened it and got her invitation to Hogwarts

"Ah. Hallo Miss Jones," a soft voice from behind made Kitty jump. "How do you know my name?" She demanded suspiciously. The old man ignored her.
"It feels like it was only yesterday when your father came and bought his wand. Twelve and a half inches, stiff, made from Rowan, I do believe." He eyed her.
"My mother?" Kitty asked anxiously.
"Never bought a wand," he said conclusively. She hadn't been a witch then. Kitty scowled.
Olivander brought out a small wand box and opened it.
"Vine, Dragon Heartstring, eleven and three quarter inches, bendy."
I took it doubtfully and waved it as instructed.
Olivander snatched it back as boxes started falling from their shelves. "Maybe not," he stated the obvious.

Sarah looked at her wand. What had that strange man said?
Oak, Twelve and one half inches, bendy, Dragon something?
She wasn't sure. The day was running together in her mind, with all the colors, unfamilar smells, different people...
Well, she HAD wished for adventure.....

Holly, Maple, Cherry, Willow, Elm- Unicorn, Pheonix, Dragon- 8, 9, 10, 11.... The combinations went on and on and the pile of tried wands grew tall and spiraling. Kitty started to dread that no wand would ever chose her, when finally the air was filled with beautiful silver sparks trailing of the end of the wand- HER wand. What was it again?
Ash, Unicorn hair, eleven and a quarter inches. Unyielding.
Olivander looked at her oddly, and whispered something to Weatherby, who frowned and looked down at Kitty.
Kitty didn't notice and paid the man the seven galleons and left.
"Oh, PLEASE can I get a pet before you go?" Kitty begged, and Weatherby looked at his watch. "Alright..." he sighed, and she pulled him in to the Magical Menagerie.
"You don't want an owl?" He asked, surprised as Kitty pressed her face up against the glass separating a pair of enormous purple toads.
"Oh, no. EVERYONE will have owls," Kitty despised being the same.
"How about a CAT?" He suggested evilly. She glared.
"I want THAT," she told the shopkeeper, who looked startled.
"But-" Weatherby spluttered, "That's must be expensive! And it's not on the list!"
"Twenty Galleons," the surprised witch looked doubtful Kitty had such a sum.
"Those boys back there were taking a tarantula," Kitty pointed out, and paid the money.
She left cradling in her arms small gem-encrusted tortoise, despite the price and the warnings it would grow much bigger.

"Can't you be more FOCASED?" he rolled his eyes.
"Nope!" Sarah giggled around continued to twirl.
She craddled Ginger in her arms as the lazt cat napped.

Cindy Smith lay on her side in a bed, wondering where her father was. Probably drunk again. She scowled to herself. The morning light spilled into her room through her dark curtains. Cindy kicked off her covers and put on her glasses.

A light tapping was heard at her window. Cindy drew back her dreary curtains and gasped in shock. A tawny owl stared back at her. A post-owl, she thought to herself. She had not seen one, ever since her mother had passed away.

Remembering what her mother had done so long ago, Cindy cautiously extended an arm. As she had expected, the owl hopped onto her arm. Gnashing her teeth at the pain from the owl's claws, Cindy gingerly untied a letter from the owl's leg and promptly shooed it away.

Cindy's dark eyes scanned through her letter. It read:
"HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Minerva McGonagall

Charlie fluttered around happily on his cage. Crystal was so happy eating him that she forgot to look where she was going. She accidentally bumped into a girl cradling a jeweled tortoise.

Is that okay @smilies?

With everything bought, and having named the tortoise Diamond, as several of the encrusted jewels were, Weatherby gave me a envolope before leaving.
"Your ticket, to get on the train to school. King's Cross station, eleven 'o clock, platform nine and three quarters. Okay?"
Then he was gone. Not wanting to go back yet, Kitty wandered around Diagon Alley. There was an amazing joke shop called the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, and she spent hours in there.
She bought candy that would make her sick and get her out of class, a spell-checking quill, Decoy Detonators, Guaranteed Ten-Second Pimple Vanisher, a Shield Cloak, Instant Darkness Powder and basically half the store.
But she wished she hadn't when she saw a shop laden with broomsticks, what witches and wizards flew on and played their sport called Quidditch. Kitty desperately wanted to try it, but she dudn't want to make a second trip into the bank, plus first years weren't allowed to have one anyway. She sighed and turned away.

@qwaszx Whoops! It's fine now!

Kitty scowled as another girl around her age bumped into her. "Watch where you're going!"
