Nighttalon shivered as the wind picked up. The trees seemed to be shrieking as the wind shoved them around. Its just till morning he thought.

Amberflower looked towards the stars. "Warriors of Starclan, I present you with this apprentice. She has chosen the path of the medicine cat. Grant her your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her clan in accordance with your will."

Amberflower looked back at Wolfpaw. "I, Amberflower, medicine cat of MistClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the way of the medicine cat, and with your help she will serve her clan for many moons to come. Wolfpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between clans and protect all clans equally, even at the cost of your life?

Wolfpaw nodded at Amberflower's words. She looked back up at her mentor after a moment. "I do." she whispered, her voice barely decipherable above the wind.

Nighttalon hoped that Wolfpaw's ceremony was working out. He shivered against the wind. The silverpelt was blocked by clouds and he suddenly felt alone

Amberflower smiled at her apprentice. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Wolfpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Wolfwind. Starclan honors your intelligence and your cunning, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of Mistclan!"

Amberflower put her head on Wolfwind's head.

Wolfwind licked her mentor's shoulder before she stood back.

Excitement ate at her paws, and apprehension made her stomach churn. Who would speak to her now? More cats just asking how life was? Or whens he slept would she be given a sign?

Amberflower chanted Wolfwind's new name, and she heard voices of past medicine cats joining in, including Junipertail's but she didn't see anycat.

"Wolfwind! Wolfwind! Wolfwind!"

Wolfwind smiled, and as she looked past Amberflower, the newly named Medicine Cat could see the faint outlines of others. Cats long gone, but all bearing the memorable scent of herbs.

Wolfwind ducked her head after a moment. And saw rain begin to splash into the Moonpond.

Looking upwards she saw thick clouds covering the sky, save for the moon.

SpiritPaw not having begun his training yet and feeling that everyones attention was on WolfPaw, he decided to leave the camp and go exploring. To see what was really out in the world past the twoleg place

Wolfwind nodded, flicking her ears as she turned away. She glanced back at the Moonpond before she followed after her mentor.

Amberflower hurried through the forest, wanting to get back to camp as soon as possible. The rain picked up, and soon it was pouring. Eventually she couldn't hear Wolfwind's paw steps behind her the rain was so hard, so she slowed down.

Wolfwind shook her head as the rain picked up. And in doing so her paws slipped on the soft and slippery stone by the path down to camp.

Her claws scrabbling on the stone and gaining no purchase she found herself sliding off the edge of the path and falling into free air. And then she struck down into the churning waters of the river. Everything around her falling dark, and the breath knocked out of her as she collided with the water.

Wolfwind sunk fast, her pelt soaking up an excessive amount of water and pulling her down. She tried to pull herself upwards, but the current proved too strong. Her lungs, desperate for air forced her to take in a choking breath of water.

After a few moments everything went dark.

When Wolfwind opened her eyes she was standing close to the hunting grounds of StarClan. Her own pelt was glittering to match theirs, and dread opened up in her stomach as she realized she had died.

"Wolfwind, come over here. You don't need to head there just yet." A gentle voice called out, and Wolfwind looked up to see a small trail leading down into a cave. "Come on, there's something you need to see before you head there."

Wolfwind, curious followed the path and noted that as she stepped the stars around her paws faded. And she froze as she found herself standing in the center of a huge cave. Around her set into the roof, were stones going from blue to purple to red to yellow to orange to green, shining brightly above her. The blue one igniting as she stepped forth.

"Wolfwind, good to meet you. Although I don't see why Ecl would pick such a scruffy creature to be his vessel." A different voice said, and a hard paw jabbed Wolfwind in the chest.

Startled Wolfwind looked up to find herself staring into the ice-blue eyes of a white fox. Rooted to the spot, she could only stare as it looked her over.

"Regardless, he does seem to have decent taste in finding those with personalities to match his." The fox muttered. "My name's Ari, I'm here to tell you of the path fate has in store for you. And had fate not had this path, you'd still be on your merry way to StarClan.

"Now, you have been chosen by one of the spirits to be their vessel. You'll still get to control your body so don't worry. Ecl has business to do in the Realm of the Living, and he can't exactly do anything without a mortal body. So he picked you, feel honored because that old cat is hard to please." Ari joked.

"When you wake up you will find another being dwelling in your head and Ecl will act as your subconscious, and help you make decisions. You will also be gifted with powers such as being able to breathe underwater and to not get cold ever. But in addition you can't die unless your death is just or heroic. So don't go doing anything stupid or Ecl will trap your soul here with the other's who failed him. Your job is to work as the Seer as well, meaning you get to help the rest who are chosen to find their way back to life after they die. And it also means you get to constantly see me hanging around you, although all of the chosen see their guardians with them too, you get to see all of them, let's you know who's who." Ari finished.

"So, I hope you enjoy living with a spirit." And with that the fox pressed their paw up to Wolfwind's chest.

A harsh feeling, like she was being pulled into a mouse hole pulled at Wolfwind, and then the she-cat found herself in the water. Moments after she had hit the water.

Swim upwards, towards where your tail tip is now. Then head to the side of the river, you're already very close. The voice from before said, and Wolfwind, unwilling to upset her new voice, followed its instructions.

Nighttalon thought he heard a cat outside the camp. He padded out to see. With a sharp crack a large tree branch came falling down. He looked up to late and felt himself being crushed. He tried to drag himself out from under the tree. He blacked out.

Wolfwind, as she pulled herself onto the shore, heard a loud crack and an image of Night-talon lying on the ground under a tree branch flashed through her mind.

"What was that?" she hissed out, looking around as she started her trek back to camp.

It seems that Leben's chosen cat is finding his way towards his domain now. I recommend you find your dead friend so you can aid him back to his body. It shouldn't be too far from your camp. Now head up this path, and you'll be very close.

Wolfwind, unable to argue, headed off up the path and recognized the spot that the warriors fished for minnows at. She broke into a light trot and found herself looking down at Night-talon crushed under a tree branch. His sides no longer moving with any breath.

Now you wait for him. You'll see Leben's spirit creature, and that's your sign to find Night-talon.

SpiritPaw heard a crack outside the camp and went over to see what it was. He saw Nighttallon under a fallen tree "Quick somebody" He yowled "Nighttallon is trapped"

Wolfwind scowled at Spiritpaw for a moment. "It's fine." she said softly, turning away from the cats. Blocking Night-talon's body from view. "Night-talon's not trapped he's gonna be just fine."

Nighttalon opened his eyes slowly. He realized he was standing at the entrance to StarClan's hunting grounds. He anxiously glanced at himself realizing he had died.

"Come!" called a voice,"It is not your time to join them follow my voice..."

Nighttalon nervously followed. He entered a cave and noticed a series of stones set in the roof. The green one lit up bathing the room in light. He heard an echo and scanned the room.

"There you are! Finally. Good to meet you," a different voice said. Nighttalon looked to it's source, a large elk with piercing green eyes and huge horns that resembled branches.

"I am Tar and Leben has chosen you to be his vessel in the Realm of the Living. Feeling honored by his choice. When you awaken from your apparent death, you'll find that Leben is dwelling in your head. You'll be gifted with all sorts of abilities including being able to breath in thick clouds of dust. Also, you can't die unless your death is just or heroic. Now DON'T do anything to stupid when you wake up. If you do Leben isn't going to be pleased and you don't want to know what happens then. Your job is to be the Rogue," Tar concluded.

"Good luck living with a spirit," Tar added pushing his antlers against Nighttalon as if trying to lift him into the Realm of Life once more.

The tom felt like he was being squeezed through variously sized holes and then he woke up.

Roll over to your left. There will be an opening in the branch. That's right. Yes crawl out, you should see the seer

Nighttalon tried to open his eyes and felt dazed,"Huh..."

Wolfwind glanced over to Night-talon as the faint outline of an elk forming beside the tree branch that crushed Night-talon.

"Night-talon, come this way. You've got to get out of that tree. Listen to my voice, and you'll find yourself in control again Night-talon." Wolfwind said, keeping her voice quiet enough for Spiritpaw not to hear.

Keep him soothed, it will do neither Leben nor your friend any good if your friend freaks out too much.
