Amberflower could tell that Wolfwind was trying to reassure her that nothing was wrong, but Amberflower could tell that Wolfwind was hiding something big. She just couldn't tell what it was.

His Clan was fine, no one died it was all good. He didn't have to worry too much.

Nighttalon stretched. He supposed he should hunt... or yawn, take a nap... Nighttalon walked up to Blazestar,"Um... sorry to bother you but how do I know what nest is mine?"

Nighttalon nodded,"Thank you... one more question where in the warrior's den was that nest? I don't want to accidentally take someone's nest." He flicked his tail.

"It's by the entrance, and it is the only none without fresh scent on it." Blazestar explained. And that done, he headed out of the camp. He'd need to go and catch something, that would clear his mind.

Nighttalon nodded,"Thank you!" He padded to the warrior's den to locate it a quick sniff around. He found it quickly and noted it's position.

Sunsetheart caught 2 squirrels, knowing that his mouth was going to be full and won't be able to carry much after this he continued back to the camp, dumping the prey onto the fresh kill pile.

Shadepaw wenot out into the forest this time to teach herself how to hunt. She was unsure about this and was trying to copy the other cats ways of hunting, remembering when she used to watch them. Shadepaw crouched down low, prowling around and sniffing the air to find the scent of prey. She found the scent of a mouse soon after, thinking it was a easy prey to catch. She stalked it down low and pounced onto it, pinning it down. The mouse struggled furiously, but Shadepaw ended its life once she batted it and sank her fangs in.

Proud of her own success she went back to the camp, happy and excited inside for her first fresh kill. Also placing it into the stash carefully.

Nighttalon saw Shadepaw walk in with some prey. "Is that your first catch?" He meowed. He remembered his had been a rabbit that after a chase he caught it.

Shadepaw flinched not expecting any cat to see her. She turned her head quickly around only to see it was Nighttalon.
"Y-yes..." She answered him nervously still a little frightened. "Anyway how was the vigil?"

Sunsetheart went ran back where he has caught the minnows, but he has to be cautious of the high water level.

Nighttalon purred,"I bet it was exciting to catch that. Congrats. The vigil was... uh... interesting. I certainly didn't expect to be knocked out by a tree branch. But I'm here in one piece so it's okay."

{Just a friendly reminder that prey is scarce, and it is unlikely that every hunting mission will catch something every time they head out.}

Blazestar stopped as he reached the forest, scenting for prey. The rain had stopped, although the thick clouds remained.

He caught the scent of vole, and followed it until he heard a slight scuffling come from the roots if a tree. Stalking towards it, he leapt, and landed where the vole had once been. The creature having retreated into its nest as he pounced.

Hissing in frustration Blazestar headed off to try and find something else

"Thank you then," Shadepaw purred back, not knowing how to react to the tree falling on him. "I hope that Starclan won't let it happen to you again."

Sunsetheart couldn't find anything, probably because they have hunted them yesterday too much so he headed back to the camp discouraged.

Amberflower turned to look at their herb stores.

"Well, we're running low on comfrey and poppy seeds, and our coltsfoot supply could be higher. Also, we could use lots more cobwebs." She meowed to Wolfwind.

"Sure, but would there be any prey still there? The storm might have scared them off, but then again more water means more out scavenging and foraging." Shadepaw followed him, keeping her distance from the water, but looked into it deeply to see shadows of fish.

"It's true they may be scared, but there's a berry patch that they might be foraging around. After all there's a few mouse holes there," He replied. He and Shadepaw made their way to the patch and Nighttalon crouched down waiting for any sign of prey.

Shadepaw rolled in the surrounding mud again, blending her scent again once more from being detected by the prey. She crouched down low, stalking in the grass and mud. Her ears were pricked and her eyes were watching out for many things.

Nighttalon thought he saw some movement in the brush, but he remained still till he could see it better. He sniffed the air and scented a vole. He still couldn't see it so he remained still.

Wolfwind nodded before she headed out. If this rain kept up they'd need as many herbs as they could. Especially if cats kept deciding to take a tumble into the river.

Shadepaw kept quiet sensing that Nighttalon heard or seen something. She crouched down lower so the wind won't pick up her remaining scent for the prey to smell her. Keeping an eye out she now saw some rustling in the bush.

The vole cautiously poked it's nose out. Nighttalon leapt and pounced but the wet stone caused him to slip. He missed the vole and probably had alerted every critter in a 25 fox length radius of their presence. He had landed on a bramble bush and now was slightly stuck.

"U-uh..." Shadepaw didn't know how to get Nighttalon out of the bramble bush. She clawed at the branches and leaves attempting to open it for enough for him to get out of the bush's grasp. "What do I do, what do I do..."

Nighttalon wriggled out of the bush with Shadepaw's help. "Well that didn't exactly work out," he said,"Um... where do you suggest we try?" He picked a few thorns that had attached themselves to his pelt out.

"Where would prey be the most..." Shadepaw tried to think, but was still new to the clan somewhat now. "What would attract them the most?"
She stepped back from the bramble bush now trying to concentrate, she was considering to call herself mouse brain because she couldn't think of a location.

Nighttalon waited patiently. He wondered what she would think of. Perhaps they ought to go back to the camp. Now that he thought about it Leben was being very quiet!

She sighed at being disappointed by what she couldn't come up with. "I don't know..." Shadepaw turned around to see Nighttalon thinking about something. "Are you pondering of something serious or unrelated?"

"Ok, good idea then..." Shadepaw quickly noted this to herself where to catch prey and when. She ran quietly through the woods, but not to fast so Nighttalon won't get behind.
I wonder what the unrelated stuff is about... Not my business anyways... She pondered as she ran, but soon when she tripped again on a stone along with the mud. She tumbled over sighing and slowing down now learning her lesson to not run when it's too wet and damp.

Nighttalon caught up and crouched by the river bed. "Are you okay?" He whispered. He pricked his ears and soon spotted a mouse tentatively peer out of it's burrow.
