Shadepaw didn't answer because she picked up the scent of the mouse, standing back up she crouched down recovering quickly from the fall. She started to slowly prowl around the scent.@emeraldfirefly

@thebrokenvibe @izziebee1017 @pitch1226 @niale @hawkNighttalon took notice of another mouse munching quietly on a seed. He stalked towards it silently avoiding all slippery areas he perceived. His eyes narrowed in concentration.

The mouse she was after was cleaning its fur. Shadepaw quietly went closer to it, and was about to pounce on it, but was wondering if it will trigger an alarm for the other mouse Nighttalon was stalking.@emeraldfirefly@thebrokenvibe

@nialeNighttalon didn't want to alert Shadepaw's mouse so he slipped around it and silently slashed down on it killing it with minimal noise. This mouse was thin, most likely from the flooding river destroying its food.

Shadepaw pounced onto the mouse, it struggled constantly. It was a little big for its kind and strong so it made it hard for her to keep it in her control. So she ended the mouse's life quickly before it had a chance to escape. It twitched a little after that and died.@emeraldfirefly@ushafuse

@niale "Given the weather I don't think that there will be anymore prey for now at least... We probably should head back," he meowed. The prey probably didn't appreciate the rain flooding and washing away their homes.

@niale Nighttalon nodded. They trekked towards the camp and padded in. Nighttalon slipped slightly on the muddy camp floor. He put the mouse on the empty fresh-kill pile. "I had a nice time hunting with you. I wonder who you're mentor will be," He said turning to her.

Shadepaw placed down the mouse in the fresh kill pile and turned around."As so it is with you, I had a nice time too," she meowed. "If I don't get a mentor I can always teach myself."@emeraldfirefly

@niale "There some things you need a mentor for. How would you correct yourself while practicing fighting moves? You may not see your mistakes. Same for hunting. I'm pretty sure you don't know every technique. Perhaps you ought to ask Blazestar," Nighttalon meowed," he may give you a mentor soon if you ask him."

"... Ok..." Shadepaw replied doubtfully. "Do you think he'll get made if I ask him for one?"She was nervous and scared to ask for one because she felt she'll be judged harshly. She shrank back down unsure if she should take his advice.@emeraldfirefly@thebrokenvibe

@niale Nighttalon flicked his tail,"Maybe you should go hunting catch a rabbit or two or a fish or two and make sure he sees you when you come in. He'd be impressed. You can ask him if you're getting a mentor so that you can improve," He meowed,"That could be unnecessary. You're 6 moons old. You SHOULD have a mentor."

@pitch1226 Moonsplash dipped her head in treating back,"I'm okayish. I'm not allowed to hunt or run for a few days. Eveningmist and I were on border patrol and we found a fox. So we attacked it and drove it off with this random rogue or loner's help. But the fox managed to scratch me."

@pitch1226 Moonsplash blushed under her fur,"I'm fine right now, but thank you." She glanced across the camp and saw Nighttalon,"It's a good thing Nighttalon didn't get killed by that tree branch. StarClan must have been watching him."Eveningmist padded over to them. She turned to Moonsplash,"I hear you're allowed to do border patrol, but can't fight or hunt. Tanglepath I'd like to see how you're doing. Will you two go on border patrol with me?"

@pitch1226 Moonsplash nodded. This was her first time out of camp since the fox. Eveningmist padded out of camp and down the slick stones. Moonsplash followed as they walked along the border. Eveningmist sniffed the air checking for unusual scents.

@emeraldfireflyTanglepath followed Eveningmist and Moonsplash. He listened carefully, trying to hear the faint noise of a mouse or bird. Lifting his nose up, Tanglepath absorbed the smell of the forest.

@pitch1226 Eveningmist located a now abandoned badger sett. She turned to Tanglepath,"Using your knowledge of scents and how they stay around an area, tell me what creature lives or lived here and if it is empty about how long has it been empty."

@emeraldfirefly Oh, ok, thanks! I haven't read a warriors book in forever!Tanglepath grinned, happy he did ok. He nodded and sniffed the air. Nothing unusual. He looked back at Moonsplash, making sure she was still ok. Tanglepath blushed and quickly turned his head forward.

@pitch1226 Moonsplash caught his look and blushed under her fur. Stop it! She thought to herself you're not supposed to be thinking about Tanglepath. You're on patrol!Eveningmist kept walking as the dappling of light shifted around. "We'll go on for a bit more and then head back," She meowed.

@emeraldfireflyTanglepath sniffed the air and stopped. His ears shifted toward the faint scratching sound. The tom crouched down, creeping slowly toward it.

@emeraldfireflyTanglepath finally saw it. A scrawny brown mouse eating a seed. He took a step closer. Tanglepath's whiskers twitched. Taking another step, he stepped on a twig, cracking it. The sound scared the mouse, but he didn't give up that easily. He sprang forward, lightning quick, catching the mouse, only by it's tail. He gave it a quick nip and brought it back to Eveningmist and Moonsplash.

She flicked her tail,"Let's head back to camp before Tanglepath's mouse decides to spoil."Eveningmist began leading the way back.Moonsplash followed but slipped on a slab of rock. Mouse dung! she thought. Eveningmist turned to help her up.
