"Alright, but just to ease my fears. Is the news going to be frightening to us?". We waited until past dreamtime, going on with our normal activities and chatting about what Ivypelt would have to say.We left Dawnpaw behind and went to pick some herbs. Auroaz had discovered a new way to crushed a type of flower to get its juice , which could be applied to sooth icthy skin.

Falconstripe groaned, his leader wasn't anywhere. He noticed Nightpelt was also missing."Maybe they're on forever patrol," he mumbled coldly to himself, remembering that they were gone for much longer than an average patrol.

Nightpelt continued to travel upstream until he saw a ginger figure laying in the distance. Could it be Leafstar? He bounded up. It sure was. "Leafstar!" he bellowed, "where in Starclan have you been?"

"Great, let's go," Dawnpaw said as they left the camp. She spotted a mouse, but it ran away after the wind changed. "Fox dung! We might end up empty-pawed once we return to camp. We need to continue," Daring to go to a large jumble of boulders and rocks, she sighted a vole, getting ready to pounce. But it was suddenly swallowed by darkness. What had happened? She ventured closer to see that a huge adder had swallowed it and that its beady eyes were turned on her.

Blackfox came off patrol and found a claw. He sniffed. He thought it was a dog, but it was a cat.

But as the adder opened its jaws, it only said,Two cats must leap down into the river until it runs red,Earth and air which have just came together, Then the new sun and the darknesses before it,The healer and her apprentice,Will journey towards the place that glows like the moon. "D-did you just hear that too, Ivypelt? An adder just talked..." Dawnpaw was confused. What could it mean? Was it a message from StarClan? Or even a prophecy that needed to be fulfilled?

Blackfox heard a yelp. He followed it. `H-h-hello?` Blackfox searched nervously. Blackfox couldn't believe his eyes. Is that why Maplefox has been missing? He wondered. He found Maplefox, lying on twigs and branches weakly. Luckily, Maplefox wasn't dead. `Wha-what happened?` He asked. `A-a-a dog..` Maplefox said in her dying breath. Blackfox whimpered. `What dog?!` He asked, looking alarmed. Blackfox held Maplefox. A tear ran down his face. `It- it..` Maplefox dies in his arms. Blackfox cried on Maplefox's cold, lifeless body.
