Hello and welcome to this #creaturesuggestion! Introducing Puffloon, the balloon pufferfish!

This could be a festive creature for EggCave's birthday, or just a general party themed month! Feel free to change the description when necessary to fit the occasion 😊

About Puffloon Eggs

Puffloon eggs look dangerous to touch with all those spikes. But if you try it, you'll find out that they're made of very soft and flexible material, almost like rubber. Puffloon eggs are filled with helium, which the baby Puffloon absorbs to grow. To prevent the eggs from floating up to the ocean surface, Puffloon parents wrap a string of seaweed around their eggs to tie them to a steady point under the water.

About the Puffloon creature

Puffloons are some of the most colourful aquatic creatures you'll find in Ark. Their fins and spikes shimmer like a rainbow. Hatched Puffloons will always keep the seaweed string they inherited from their parents wrapped around their tail. Because their bodies are filled with helium, they tend to float upwards, so the string helps to ground them when they get tired of swimming. If you go out diving near a reef, there's a good chance you'll find a group of Puffloons floating around like helium balloons, tied to the coral.

Puffloons are naturally drawn to the sound of laughter. If there's a party on the beach, nearby Puffloons will untie themselves and float up to the surface to join in on the fun. The rainbow-like reflection of their scales on the surface will certainly make their entrance a moment to never forget! This is why Arkians often choose to celebrate their birthdays or very special occasions near the ocean. If you approach a Puffloon with a smile, it will be happy to allow you to hold it by its string. Just make sure to put it back in the water after the party!

Notes for the artist

Feel free to play around with the colors, as long as the fins, spikes, eyes and dots on the final stage have most/all of the colors of the rainbow included in them. The color of the body doesn't have to be orange if something else looks better.

On the baby stage I tried to capture the cuteness of a baby pufferfish, but I don't really think I managed to! Feel free to change proportions, for example bigger eyes or a smaller body, to achieve this if you want to.

I think the pufferfish as a balloon is a funny gimmick. The design is overall cute and I would love to be able to hatch a puffloon in the future 😃

I feel like we dont have nearly enough pufferfish appreciation on Eggcave.
I think this'd be a really SOLID eggcave birthday creature for sometime! Or for a "party" theme month- maybe a new years type thing.
