Shimmer Mist...A land like no other. Here, things aren't quite what you're used to. The flora glows in eerie,captivating ways. The fauna,mysterious, and beautiful. It is here that your travels have led you, whatever they may have been. Throughout the lands you have wandered, adventured, and traveled. It has brought you here, to Shimmer Mist, a place thick with wonder and shrouded in mystery. Upon arriving at Shimmer Mist, you were told by a rather friendly Goblin, that the local Inn had rooms to rent. Naturally after such a long and tiresome journey, a nice meal and a bed sounded lovely. Tucked away behind a veil of willow branches lies the Ember Shine Inn, filled with all sorts of creatures. Many travelers, and adventurers, as well as some...less friendly looking folk.
As you walk in the door, you hear the Innkeeper talking to a few beastly looking warriors.
"If you're looking for adventure,boys, then I've a story for you. There's a village, hidden somewhere in Shimmer Mist. A right ominous place, and abandoned they say. No sign of life, and yet, all you can hear are voices, footsteps, even a blacksmith on a grindstone...but no one there. A lot of people never came back from a journey there. Some say it's cursed..Black Magic, or the work of something evil and what-not. " The Innkeeper said, walking away to tend the fireplace. The Inn had grown silent during the story, all eyes were fixed on the Innkeeper with insatiable curiosity.

-Species: Wood Elf

-Gender: Female

-Talents: Swordsmanship, Sneaking, Speech, Crafting, Agility, Archery

-Appearance: She has long, wavy mahogany hair, and big golden eyes, shadowed slightly by long eyelashes. She looks both delicate, and feral. She is skinny, but muscular, and strong. Her ears, long and pointed,adorned with studs of steel, give her excellent hearing. Her skin is slightly tanned,as is common for Wood Elves, peeking through where her clothing does not not cover.She is shorter than most wood elves, but she uses this as quite an advantage. More often than not she wears a hooded cloak over her clothing, not because she is hiding, but because she likes her secrecy.She is beautiful, but dangerous. She always has her sword sheathed at her side, and a quiver of arrows slung on her back.

-Alliance: Neutral. She is neither excessively good Nor excessively bad.

-Appearance: Ayla has straight, thick golden hair which flows down to her waist. With her hazel eyes and long eyelashes, she looks very attractive. She has a slim shape, but is surprisingly strong. Her tanned skin shines in the sunlight, along with her hair and her glistening eyes. She is average height. Ayla is an outgoing person, and is extremely sociable. She never wears long pants. But she always wears a fox badge.

-Alliance: Neutral - She does not want to join any wars, so she stays neutral

-Species: Feline Humanoid

-Gender: F

-Talents: Swordsmanship, singing, communication, distraction

-Appearance: She isn't too feline, just with cat ears and tail, as well as sharper fingernails. Mystica constantly wears black gloves and shoes (shaped as paws), but the rest of her clothing is quite human-like. One of the reasons she constantly wears gloves is that her hands are very scarred, so much that she is embarrassed to show them - due to her many years of swordsmanship. She has emerald eyes, and black hair (to match the colour of her paws) Her eyes are very large - unlike those of a feline's. Mystica's clothes mostly consist of very strange adornments, fashions which most would find queer (such as her trademark collar belt) One looking at her for the first time would get the impression of ferocity, for as eccentric as her looks are, they are quite intimidating to a stranger.

-Alliance: Whatever she feels represents her needs. Right now she is good, but may swap sides later on.

Species: Bird-humanoid

Talents: Running, singing, and mending/making things with his hands, hand to hand fighting and archery

Appearance: Cylan has rich reddish-brown hair which is interspersed by feathers of a rose-gold colour. He has honey-coloured skin and intense, dark eyes (which are actually a very dark brown, but you can only tell in bright sunlight, otherwise they appear black). In contrast to this, he also is the kind of person who smiles a lot and he has dimples. He wears light, simple clothing that is easy to move in - as a bird-humanoid he doesn't like to be weighed down (birds are light so they can fly). Generally he wears shades of brown. He is slim, but well built - not skinny, but not overly muscular.

Alliance: Pretty neutral, but if he has to take a side, he sides with whoever he feels is morally right.

-Talents: Speed/Agility, Stealth, Tracking, Unarmed combat, not much else.

-Appearance: Grayish/white dog ears, clawish nails, whisker markings on his cheeks, large brown dog-ish eyes, an extra sensitive nose (that looks human) but no tail, and otherwise an ordinary human.
He has white/silver unkept spiky hair that's quite long, for a guy that is. Small for his age. He wears a simple no sleeved black leather tunic, no matter the weather, although he sometimes uses a white scarf, the purpose is more for concealing his face.
He has a detatched, cold, unemotional face. He is also quite pretty for a boy, to his annoyance.

[Lets get some story going 😋 ]

~Whilst the Innkeeper tended the fireplace, the band of burly warriors chattered away amongst themselves. discussing if they should check it out, and if they would get a reward for dispelling whatever evil may be lurking. However, these were the slurred ideas of men who had a bit too much mead, because nobody went to that cursed village on purpose. Sure, there was always talk of it, and many people looking to prove themselves by going there, yet when it came right down to it, no one dared journey there.

The warriors eentually left, and the Inn became quieter. The fireplace crackling gently as it warmed the chills away. Hushed conversations continued. And the Innkeeper was busy tending the meals, and cleaning the tankards. But curiosity would soon bring together a band of very unlikely travelers, on a journey which would decide their fate. ~

Haku sat near the fire, basking in it's warmth. He was the only one who had not paid particular attention to the Innkeeper's story, mainly because he was preoccupied with breathing in through his mouth and trying not to gag as the strong smells of dirty, sweaty, disgusting humans assulted his sensitive nose.

-Appearance: Small for a human, bigger for an elf. She is a thin and delicate looking girl but her eyes burn with a fiery passion. Aubrey has shoulder length red/copper hair It is almost feathered in texture and is soft to the touch. She has light lips and a few freckles under her eyes in the center of her dewy cheeks. Her eyes are a golden color, which compliments her long eyelashes and her fair composure. She wears what is appropriate for the day, in the city she may wear a cloak or a dress but for hunting she wears green garments. She has never thought of herself to be a beauty and is often putting herself down in her appearance but others thin she is gorgeous.

-Alliance: Neutral. She tries not to get herself into trouble.

Cassandra was seated towards the back of the Inn, so she could survey things from a distance. While she had heard the story, she was not particularly interested, though it did seem a peculiar tale. She removed the hood of her cloak, as the Innkeeper came to her table with a tankard of steaming Cider.

Aubrey learned her head up against a huge chair, she was having trouble listening as other abstract thoughts were filling her head. She looked into the crackling fireplace in the Inn, a warm aroma of musty wood filled her nostrils. It made her feel a bit more secure in such a whimsical place.

As the innkeeper made eye contact with her, she couldn't help but snap up a bit. Those fierce eyes seemed to know Aubrey wasn't listening. She tried making a movie out of the story the innkeeper was telling her but his mind kept wandering into distant worlds.

Cylan watched the innkeeper with amusement as he spun his tale. He had always loved the silly stories people wove to stir up drunks; although admittedly this one had him interested. Quietly he smiled as he raised his drink to his lips.

When the waitress reached Haku, he quickly ordered the strongest of whatever they had. She smiled doubtfully and wondered if he wasn't a bit too young. On noticing his ears though, she couldn't work up the courage to inquire.
He chugged it all in one go, risking drowning himself, then gagged at the impossibly strong bitter taste.
Thankfully it solved the smell, however he was unsure whether his taste buds would ever recover.

As Casandra swigged down more of her cider, she couldn't help notice the Canid by the fire, who looked like he was gagging something foul down on purpose. Curious, she decided to move a little closer to the front of the Inn, as there was a rather interesting array of people in the little Inn tonight. She walked silently to a more upfront table, smiling ever so slightly at the warmth the fire was giving off. When she sat, The waitress took her empty tankard and replaced it with a full one, making the immediate atmosphere thick with apples and cinnamon.

Cassandra, now with a better view, began looking around at the surprising group of people. Trying to figure them out...

Aubrey looked for an excuse to leave from the story circle seeing as she knew the innkeeper would start to become angry at her for not intently listening. She curtsied to the innkeeper to let him know she was going to be leaving then nodded and walked in the opposite direction; towards the bar when she heard a gag. She looked over to see a young man with a bitter root drink and she giggled, for many people had done this in her presence but she had found it funny that people do that to themselves.

She walked up to the boy and picked up the glass, almost inspecting it. "You must not be from around here," She sarcastically stated, "Because anyone knows that bitteroot is disgusting."

"Why do they stock it then?" Haku wondered outloud. "They should sell it off to the doctors." Looking up, he was stunned to find himself face to face with a princess. Suddenly he was overcome by shyness and turned his face away quickly.

Mystica listened with enthusiasm. It was all news for her... well.... coming from a remote country. It sounded like random rubbish to her, but it was, all the same, quite intriguing to hear. She made herself a mental note to find out if any of the information was actually true, before settling herself down. It sounded like good material.... if it was true...

"Because, Bitteroot is one of the only things that can mask the taste of poison." Cassandra explained,leaning towards them from her seat.

"Most that come through the Inns...Aren't exactly good people. But the Inn can make a decent haul if the right people, say assassins and bandits, come in to buy a few things of Bitteroot. Which is why it's still sold. Now, what I'm wondering, is what in the world made YOU drink it?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

Cylan listened to their conversation intently. He always learned so much from listening. Noticing that his mug was empty, he smiled flirtatiously at the waitress as he ordered a new drink. He was amused by her idiotic stare at his feathers, but out of courtesy he avoided bringing up her ignorance.
