Margot gritted her teeth; that was an ugly move to start out with. But now, there was no time to waste. "Will-o-Wisp at Altaria," she ordered at a normal speaking tone, not quite loud enough for the trainers at the other end to hear.

Ramses raced toward the Altaria on the other side of the field, purple fire glowing from the back of his throat. He breathed out the torrent of flame, ghostly fire swirling toward the dragon type.

"Keep moving!" Margot shouted after her Pokemon, almost as an afterthought. "Your Garchomp wouldn't happen to have special ground senses, would she?" she asked Garrett in a less-than-polite tone. "We need to get that Sneasel out of there."

Zellers, being a bit small had to climb on a stool to observe to the TV. Meinfoo, just below her, 'foo'd' at the Umbreon to move.

@sakura2596 Your partner has not been decided yet. After this battle is over, new partners will be picked. It just makes it easier to tell who is currently active and who isn't.

Melody knew she couldn't let her Partner's Pokemon get hurt, for that was the only defense they really had against the Houndoom.
She knew Sneasal couldn't hit Ramses when he was moving THAT fast.
So, she decided for the next best thing to stop him.
"Out, and Ice Beam!" she commanded Sol.
Sol poped out of the dirt right behind Ramses, and shot a powerful Ice beam his way.

Ramses, feeling the tremor in the ground behind him, whirled around. He was not quick enough to dodge; the ice beam struck him, forcing him back a few feet. The flames from his Will-o-Wisp, however, melted the part of the ice beam that would have hit him in the face, and instead swirled rapidly toward the Sneasel.

"Nevermind," Margot said softly to her partner. That ice beam shouldn't have hurt too much; her Houndoom's special defense wasn't awful, and the type match-up cut down the move's power. She'd keep running him full-force."Flamethrower!" she barked, pointing at the Sneasel.

"Dodge it!" Melody shouted fiercly. Sol leaped into the air skillfully, JUST dodging the Flamethrower, but still feeling the heat.
Unluckly though, the Will-O-Wisp caught Sol full on, burning him.
Sol landed on the now melted snow and ice, puffing heavily.
"Sol, Dig again!" Melody commanded. Once again, Sol dug back under ground.

Meinfoo scuffled a bit. Zellers realized Meinfoo was missing.

"Uh-oh,"she thought,"hope Meinfoo isn't punching walls" She hustled dow, searching for the ever curious Meinfoo.

"Ramses, run! Then loop back around and use Will-o-Wisp on Altaria!" The canine Pokemon took off again, collecting ghostly fire in the back of his throat.

A half-smile appeared on Margot's face. Sneasel typically relied on physical moves, and that burn status would halve its attack power. She wasn't sure why the Sneasel knew ice beam as opposed to ice shard or ice punch or avalanche, but as long as she could successfully keep that ice beam away from Garchomp, Ramses could now absorb a handful of physical attacks and things would proceed according to plan.

"Take the next hit he deals you," she ordered her Pokemon.

A confused look flashed across the Houndoom's eyes, but he did not plan to disobey.

'I should've used Daunt.' Melody thought, grittinh her teeth under her black hood. 'Sol can't take down that Houndoom all by himself.... So i'll focas on the Garchomp, and hope that the Altaria can take care of herself.'
"Sol, Ice Beam on Garchomp!" Melody commanded him, who busted out of the ground and shot an icy beam towards Garchomp.

Margot ignored the boo from the crowd. It wasn't the first time someone had voiced their disapproval of her, nor would it be the last. "Ramses!" she shouted, to get his immediate attention. "Dark pulse, NOW!"

The Houndoom froze in his tracks and sent a ripple of darkness shooting out into the arena. If they could simply knock the Sneasel over or compromise its aim . . .

"Get over there, and use Hidden Power!"

'URGH, it knows Dark Pulse?!?" Melody thought, angered.
She watched as Sneasal was knocked over by it, but not badly affected.
'What do I do, What do I do?!?' Melody started to freak out for a few seconds.
Sol gritted his teeth, and watched as Ramses rushed towards him, ready for another move.
He couldn't help but feel angered. At Melody. At the Houndoom that had caused his friend to lose his leg. At the Rocket who'd caused Melody to lose confiendence ever since Flash's injury.
Sol sneered, a spark of defience flying though him. Melody was too scared to even command him any more! He had to save himself.
Sol's claws grew longer as he prepared for a Slash attack. Without waiting for Melody's command, he rushed towards Ramses, aiming his long claws for the Houndoom's face.

(Oh Noez! Sneasel is disobiendent? 😈 )

Margot smiled softly. "Take the attack," she all but whispered.

The Houndoom stilled the Hidden Power attack and squared his shoulders. Fear flashed in his eyes as the Sneasel grew closer, but he sucked in a single, calming breath before its claws met his face.

His trainer knew what had to be done.

Ramses snarled as the Sneasel slashed his face, leaving two long gashes across his maw. Now, he brought the force of Hidden Power back, baring his teeth and gripping the snowy ground with his claws. He threw his head skyward and let out an eerie howl, the rust-colored energy from the fighting-type attack bursting outward.

Melody shook off the shock when she saw Sol attack without waiting for her to response.
"Sol, dodge it!" she commanded fiercely.
Sol met her eye with an obvious look of defience in his face.
He growled, and shot another Ice Beam straight at Houndoom, right before the Hidden Power move blew him off his feet and sent him spirling into a pile of snow, where he laid, knocked out.

A lone figure sat in the stands, watching the battle thoughtfully.
"It seems that Sneasel didn't want to listen to it's trainer..... It seemed strong, though..."
The girl sighed, and leaned back on the stands, brushing the strands of brown hair out of her face.
'This blows. I'd rather be IN the competetion if anything.' she thought sighing. 'Atleast Rai-Rai is having a rather a good time....'
The girl smiled as she watched her Raichu jumped up and down in excitement, small sparks flowing from his cheeks, cheering for no one.
"Silly Rai-Rai." she cooed to her Pokemon, smiling sweetly.

Ice beam knocked the Houndoom over. He rolled twice across the snowy ground before rising to his feet, growling from deep within his throat. He shook the snow off his body in one rippling motion and then backed up slowly, moving to stand in front of Garchomp. His eyes, this time, were trained on the Sneasel, expecting it to get up at any moment.

Margot wanted nothing more than to hug and praise her wounded Pokemon, but the battle wasn't over yet. From the corner of her eye, she saw the referee point his flag toward Melody's side of the field. "Sneasel has fainted!" he exclaimed. Margot nodded once, her expression cold.

Ramses let out a muted bark; he recognized "Sneasel" and the word "fainted". He did not seem to relax, however; instead he lowered his stance, ready for the next portion of the battle. Disobedience was not an option, and the fall of Sneasel had only confirmed this for him.

Taya looked at him curiously, but shot up high, out of reach.

Ramses glanced up, watching the Altaria soar high up into the sky.

"It's okay," Margot murmured softly to him. "Garchomp should be able to handle that." She put her hands in her pockets and frowned slightly out at the arena. She honestly hadn't expected the first round battle to be so vicious.

Ramses whined softly. He lowered his gaze slightly, so he could both watch Melody and catch a glimpse of movement from up above if the Altaria tried to attack him.

@smilies Perfect. XD And now he's awake.

Maybe we should slow things down so @dragonstorm78 can catch up?

Melody was CRUSHED. Sol had never disobeyed her before.... why was he now? At such an important time????
"..Return." she managed to choke out, and returned the unconcious Sol back to his Pokeball.
"Krow, are you-"
A flash of red light materialized next to her.
Her three legged Houndor appeared, and gave her a look of confidence in his eyes.
"Flash, no. Please.... not now..." Melody begged with her Houndor.
Flash's eyes drooped a bit, and her pressed closer to Melody, trying to presuade her.
He stared onto the field, at Ramses and growled. He knew it wasn't the time to fight, not now.
Melodt returned Flash to his Pokeball, and nodded at Murkrow.
"Krow, out on the field." Melody commanded Krow who flew ito the arena, swooping gracefully.

Spike, rubbing his eyes, saw that his partner's Pokemon had fainted. And he hadn't noticed. "Perfect," he muttered.
"Taya, Dragon Combo!" He shouted up to her.
"Myo!" She replied calmly. She shot down like a bullet and stopped just before she hit the ground, behind Ramses, like she'd missed. Before Taya landed though, she'd already moved on to the next move. It was a combo after all.
She slashed a fierce Dragon Claw, aiming for his back, then fluidly started her evasive somersaulting retreat, that was the second special Spike had ever taught her.
Meanwhile, Spike watched Melody send out Krow with a hint of annoyance.
