A very dispirited Spite withdrew his knocked-out Shelly, sighed again, then released Altaria.
"Come back out, Taya," he gave her a quick smile. "Counting on you now."
She let out a quick tweet in reply.
By her return earlier, Taya had lost the burn from the Will-O-Wisp thanks to her ability. She had taken some damage from the Dark Pulse, but nothing critical.
Spike examined the Pokemon left. That Porygon had be low by now, but then so did his partner's Murkrow. For all he could tell, the penguin thing was basically untouched. He narrowed his eyes. Not good.
"Fly, get out of range, Taya!" He ordered and she obeyed with elegant speed.

Garett grinned. Honchkrow was Roosting.

"Empoleon! Flash Cannon on Krow, quick!"

The water/steel type shot a ball of light from it's mouth at the resting Pokemon.

Cloud watched the battle that transpired with distaste, flinching as a beam of icy vengence hit a Pokemon, or a stream of flames entwined around another Pokemon. She couldn't wait until the grotesque madness was over, going back to her peaceful coordinating.

Krow quickly took to the skies, still not fully healed.
The Flash Cannon had stopped him before he could get really properly healed.
"Krow, Fly!" Melody commanded him, knowing he was still very weak.
Krow took to the skies, flying way above the other's heads.

"Now we're both flying, any strategy ideas?" He asked Melody very quietly.
His Altaria circled slowly above her opponents, carefully out of range.
If she didn't win this then Spike wouldn't have to take part in the tournament, and god knows when he'd next have to fight a battle.
If she lost, the other Pokemon would NEVER forgive her, especially if they never got a turn.

Empoleon groaned. He knew he couldn't fly, and was jokingly taunted by Crobat all the time for it. It was most certainly a sore point for him, and now he was up against two flying types.

"Empo, empoleon. Empol... POLEO!" He said. In human, it translated to "I need a way to knock them out of the sky... Garett!"

Garett noticed his Empoleon's call. He knew from a while ago that 'poleo' translated to his name. This was an adventure that involved an eccentric scientist, a translator, and a Poke Mart clerk, but he decided not to bring up memories now.

"Empoleon, bring an Avalanche down on them once they get close enough to the ground," the trainer said rather quietly, so only the penguin-like Pokemon could hear.

Margot shaded her eyes with her hand as she looked up into the sky, trying to catch a glimpse of the Pokemon flying above. "That's irritating," she murmured, then turned to watch Garrett and Empoleon have a short exchange. Suddenly, she had an idea. "Let me help you with that--DIGIT! Lock-on to . . . Murkrow."

The Porygon-Z angled its body up and gazed intently at the sky for a few moments. "Target acquired!"

"Tri-attack, please," she said with a slight smile. Lock-on was a wonderful move that ensured the next attack would hit, even if the Pokemon happened to be somewhere up in the sky. Even if it didn't knock Murkrow out, it would put it in range of Empoleon's avalanche.

Digit flung the Tri-Attack up into the sky, red, blue and yellow lights swirling together as the beam raced upward.

Melody paused when she heard her partner speak to her.
"Hmm, take out the Porygon-Z first." Melody told him.
Then, the Tri Attack hit Mukrow, sending him spriling down to the ground.
Melody caught her breath, knowing what she had to do.
"Krow, Fly on Porygon-Z!" Melody commanded her Pokemon.
Krow caught himself in mid-fall, and weakly rushed towards the Porygon-Z, still fierce as ever.

Zellers frantic, searches for Meinfoo, having to push through many people.
Meinfoo, during the time, was play fighting harmlessly with Meema.
She soon spotted Sakura and asked exasperated,"Have you seen my Meinfoo?"

Spike nodded, first to his partner, then to his Altaria, who swept down the Porygon-Z, loosing Ice Beams at it as she went.
"After, I'll cover for you so can can use Roost," Spike suggested.

Empoleon released the Avalanche attack upon Krow.

"That sounds good." Melody nodded to Spike.
She then grinned wickedly when she saw Empoleon casting Alavanche on krow.
"Krow, Sucker Punch!" Melody commanded, her voice echoing thoughout the arena.
Krow weakly obeyed, barely dodging the avalance, and flew towards Empoleon, trying to throw a fierce peck at his head.

Empoleon skidded back a few feet from the attack, but his crown and his armor mostly protected him from the hit.

"He won't last much longer!" Garett called. "Hit him with a Bubblebeam!"

"Krow, dodge it!" Melody commanded fiercly.
Krow flapped his wings, pushing himself upwards.
His feathers got scraped by the bbble beam, knocking him backwards and falling into the snow.
"Spike cover me while Krow Roosts!" Melody hissed desperately.
Krow start to Roost, but even in his weakened state, he was recoving HP more slowly.

"Okay," Spike nodded. Altaria lighted down infront of the Murkrow, like a shield. She pelted the enemies with constant Ice Beams hoping that would keep them preoccupied at least, if not actually hit. it was killing her PP, but she still had Dragon Claw up her sleeve.

Anyone counted how many different moves both my Pokemon have shown? XD

Krow sighed thankfully, and tucked his head beneth his feathers, trying to recover his HP.
Sadly, Roost recovers less HP the more it is used. (To stop myself from just healing him a bunch... XD)
And Sucker Punch had tired him out.... It probley only had one PP left on it......

Melody gritted her teeth. She'd take out Porygon-Z with her last hit, she knew it.

Empoleon wondered why the Altaria kept using Ice Beam against an ice-type and a fire-type.

"Empoleon!" He listened closer when he heard his trainer's words. "Send that Altaria an Avalanche, and try to make it as effective as you can! I want her out of there!"

Nodding to Garett, Empoleon quickly set off an Avalanche to hit mostly right on top of Altaria.

Margot was thinking quickly. The battle was rushing to a close. She was fairly sure Empoleon could handle Altaria with a well-placed Avalanche--the type match-up and power of the move were simply overwhelming. It was her job, then, to deal with the Murkrow. She gritted her teeth. Every time they were about to place a knock-out, the thing would use Sucker Punch . . . "Sucker punch only works if the other Pokemon is attacking, right?" she asked, mostly to herself. "DIGIT!"

The Virtual Pokemon zoomed over to its trainer to hear her better, bobbing its head almost worriedly. "HP low," it bleated.

"I know, I know. Listen; I need you to use Lock-on on Murkrow, and then pretend like you're about to use Tri-Attack. But whatever you do, don't. Just look like you're charging." She wasn't sure what would happen if it tried to use Sucker Punch, but hopefully it would leave it just vulnerable enough. "Unless I command you to use it. Okay?"

The Porygon-Z nodded yes.

"All right then! Digit, center field!"

Digit floated out into the middle of arena, far enough from the Altaria and Murkrow to have enough time to dodge a wayward ice beam. "Target acquired!" it exclaimed loudly. Red, blue and yellow lights began to swirl in front of him as he collected energy for a Tri-Attack.
