As soon as Ramses saw the light from Krow's Pokeball, he took off at a run toward the center of the arena--his trainer had told him not to worry about the Altaria, so clearly he ought to focus on the Murkrow.

Margot stifled a laugh. By the time the Altaria had touched down, her Houndoom was a quarter of the way across the field. "Never discount ignorance," she mumbled to herself. "Keep an eye on Murkrow," she ordered Ramses, who dipped his head in understanding. "But keep moving."

Melody narrowed her eyes. She would NOT let them take down Krow. And she knew Krow wouldn't allow himself to lose to Ramses.
"Krow, Fly!" she ordered her Murkrow.
Krow zoomed into the air, above the Houndoom's head.
She knew EXACTLY how to fight with Krow. There was no uncertainty like their was with Sneasel, for they both understood each other prefectly.
"Krow, prepare a Dark Pulse!" Melody grinned. Krow hadn't learned Dark Pulse yet. She was calling a bluff, and preparing for the real attack.

Taya paused.
While normally she was a calm, serene creature, like all Dragon Pokemon, she has a fierce spirit.
Spike wondered why he had become a Dragon Tamer again.
Oh yeah, in defiance of his stupid family.
... Why DRAGON though? He should've collected Slowpokes. Nice, easy going, friendly, not rash or hasty, and definitely not violent....
Spike was daydreaming.
Taya wasn't. She was angry now. She opened her beak and shot three Ice Beams in quick succession at the annoying Houndoom.

((OOC// Sorry, you guys! I was at school. >_< And I'll have to leave right after this, too, so... yeah, now you know.))

Garchomp bared her teeth. She jumped high up into the air, and knew what Garett was going to call before he even said a thing.

"Sand Tomb!"

She spit out a swirling tornado of sand that was going quickly after Krow.

Krow wasn't that hurt by the Sand Tomb, and easily shook it off.
"Krow, Fly!" Melody shouted, and watched as Krow dived towards Ramses, prefectly dodging Taya's Ice Beams as he did.

Margot gritted her teeth in frustration. Sand tomb? Really? He was using a Garchomp, and he starts off with sand tomb, which wouldn't even affect Murkrow? She wanted to shout at him. "If you want to use ground moves, knock them out of the sky," she all but growled. "Ramses, flamethrower at Murkrow!"

The houndoom skipped out of the way of the first ice beam but snarled as he was hit by the second, and then the third. He stumbled slightly but glared upward at Murkrow; as it swooped in close, he unleashed the blast of fire.

Ramses couldn't keep absorbing hits like this, Margot realized; they needed to go on the offensive. "Chase it down and use flamethrower!"

Fighting harder now to move his cold limbs, the Houndoom raced after the Murkrow, exhaling blasts of fire into the sky.

"Krow, Sucker Punch!" Melody exclaimed, knowing that the move would be faster than the Flamethrower.
Murkrow dodged the first Flamethrower, only getting a few of his feathers burnt, and moved in on the Houndoom, throwing a nasty "punch" at him, using his beak. (More like Sucker Peck.) XD

Spike awoke again. He could tell she was close to being overcome by her inner 'demon' of a fighting spirit. "Taya..." He growled. "Use -that- technique and I promise not to use you in the tournament again!"
Taya flinched and her eyes flickered to focus on him.
"Fourth, six, two!" He called, resorting to code.
The code started with the order of the moves, each was given a number, and then the direction of attacking the enemy, using the clock, then which opponent to go after.
So, Dragon Claw, from behind, and on the Garchomp.
Taya started a silent, spiraling dive.

Garett flinched. A moment of stupidity might have well cost him the tournament.

"Garchomp! Dragon Rush on Krow!" He called.

Ramses was surprised; he hadn't expected an attack to come before the flamethrower hit. The attack snapped his head to the side. Once the shock faded, however, rage took its place. He barked loudly, scattering high-speed Will-o-Wisp flames before lashing his tail and sending out a Dark Pulse. The ripple of energy caught the remaining flames and pushed them outward, shooting a brutal blast of dark energy and ghost fire ten feet around him.

Margot nodded gently. She and her Houndoom had been battling together for such a long time, he had a certain amount of autonomy between direct orders. "Flamethrower, straight at Murkrow," she said levelly, watching her Pokemon prepare and deliver another stream of fire.

Taya was very fast, and sure that she was undetected, striked quickly before Garchomp could carry out his trainer's orders. She HATED how everyone was IGNORING her.
Spike sighed. There went his only calm, peaceful Pokemon.

Krow let out a squak, and took the full force of the Dark/Fire Pulse.
The Flamethrower clipped his right wing, and blew him back into a pile of snow, burying deep in it.
Melody paused for a second, closing her eyes, and urging Krow on mentally.

((Believe me, Margot is as frustrated as Taya is that a certain everybody is ignoring her. XDD It's kind of funny when she gets worked up.))

Ramses watched only long enough to be sure that the Murkrow wasn't getting up immediately. He now raced back toward the Garchomp, teeth bared and fire glowing from the back of his throat.

Margot had to think quickly. Was dark type weak against dragon type? She hoped not. "Dark pulse!" she commanded. "But try not to hit Garchomp!" If Garrett didn't start handling that Altaria, she thought to herself, things would get very ugly for him.

(OOC// @smilies... What kind of Pokemon is Taya? You only use her name, I can't tell. xD)

Garchomp was suddenly hit from Taya. The Dragon Rush had been building up, and since her concentration had been broken by the other dragon-type, she had hurt herself slightly just by that.

The Announcer eyed Melody, and was just about to raise the flag, when-
BAM!
Krow busted out of the snow drift, flying high into the air, taking a bunch of snow flakes with him, creating what looked like a backwards snow tornado to the ceiling.
Melody was relieved, and started to laugh. "That would be a great performance trick if I was a cordinator Krow!" Melody called up to her Murkrow, relieved.
'Gotta love Roost.' Melody smiled to herself. 'Thank gosh he was in that snow bank, or else he wouldn't had enough time to heal without getting blasted.'
Melody was now, once again, confident with herself. She was holding her head high, and even now had taken off the black hood that had been covering her face.
"Okay Krow, prepare a Wing Attack!" Melody shouted up to her Murkrow.

@dragonstorm78 Sorry, forgetful me! 😋

The Altaria tried sink her claws in deeper, with no strategy at all, and Spike facepalmed. "Third!" He shouted.
Taya chirped happily in reply, snapping out of it, and fired a powerful Ice Beam at the enemy. At this range, the Altaria was smugly certain of a hit, and personally she thought there was no way the Garchomp could endure her two most potent attacks, super-effective.
Spike however, wasn't so sure.

"Garrett, tell your Garchomp to take out the Murkrow." Margot was frowning again, her eyes cold. Ramses, she figured, was out of time. The next hit he took would knock him out. It was risky, throwing one last, frenzied attack to get the Altaria (literally) off Garchomp's back. But, Margot reminded herself, her prime strategy was risk. "Ramses, give it everything you've got," she instructed, her hands balling into fists within her jacket pockets. "Dark pulse and Will-o-Wisp; see if you can bite it, get a good hold."

Ramses lunged at the Altaria. He attempted to sink his teeth into whatever fluffy part of the Pokemon he could reach, simultaneously scattering purple Will-o-Wisp flames. There wasn't time to see if he'd made contact yet; a dark pulse followed, the sheet of black energy effectively blinding him for a moment.

((OOC// Note here that I only remember the Pokemon tournament in the first season.

EDIT: Sorry, @silver_winged! I posted this before I saw your post... >_<;; ))

Garchomp tried to weakly get up, but the dragon/flying type was very powerful. She slumped to the ground, defeated.

The announcer turned his head, and raised the flag. "Garchomp is unable to battle! Send out your next Pokemon, Garett Reidar!"

Groaning, Garett recalled the dragon/ground type and took the Poke Ball with a dewdrop on it for his next move.

Smiling slightly, he threw the ball out. "Go! Empoleon!"

Taya was surprised by the other Pokemon interfering, which both Trainer and Pokemon had neglected to pay attention to, assuming his partner would take care of it.
This was another reason why he dislike double battles.
The Altaria managed to react in time to mostly avoid the Houndoom's fangs, just losing a bit of cottony-fluff in the process, however she was unable to dodge the Will-O-Wisp or the Dark Pulse.
Burned and hurt, Taya twisted midair, and, as she had still been firing her Ice Beam, changed target for her attacker, although knowing it wouldn't be very effective, she hoped to distract him and gain momentary relief.
"Return, Taya!" Spike yelled, and she vanished in a flash of light. He sighed.

Melody sighed, but she didn't want to risk sending Krow into the fray when all those Ice Beams were flying around.
But Ramses was still up...
"Krow, hit Ramses with the Wing Attack!" Melody commanded the Murkrow.
Krow flew down, fast and furious, aiming his sharp beak for Ramses' side.

"Empoleon!" Garett called to the penguin-like Pokemon. "Use Flash Cannon on the Honchkrow before he can get to Ramses!"

Speeding off, the Empoleon burst the attack at the dark/flying type Pokemon.

Margot wanted to shout again. Garchomp had gone done without landing so much as a single solid move. At least Empoleon knew an ice type move, she reminded herself, trying to banish the scowl from her face.

Ramses glanced around, surprised. Before the ice beam had hit him, the Altaria had vanished back into its owners Pokeball. His eyes met with the Murkrow, swooping toward him dangerously fast.

"Flamethrower!" Margot roared.

The Houndoom took in a deep breath, faced his attacker head on, and breathed out as much fire as he could muster.

@live Is Lauri there to watch the tournament? With one pidgey I don't think she'd be able to battle. ^^;

Melody's eyes widened as the two attacks headed straight towards Krow.
Good thing she had her trumph card.
"Sucker Punch!" Melody commanded once again.
Sure to strike before the other move, Sucker Punch, was, indeed, awesome.
Too bad Krow could only use it a few times before becoming tired....
Krow seemed to disappear for a few seconds, he moved so fast.
He appeared once again, right behind Ramses, and threw a fierce peck with his beak.

Garett couldn't help but be awed at how quickly that turn had gone. Ramses had been hit with Krow's Sucker Punch, and Empoleon had missed the Honchkrow.

He shook his head to get his train of thought on the right track. "Bubblebeam, Empoleon." He said, hopefully only loud enough so Empoleon could hear.

Empoleon charged off after Krow again, this time shooting a stream of bubbles as he went.

Spike sighed again. "'Suppose it can't be helped. Get out there, Shelly."
Out of the pokeball emerged a female Shelgon. She appeared to pay no attention to her surroundings, instead studying her nails.
"Shelly..." Spike growled.
She looked disdainfully at him.
"Second," he commanded.
The Shelgon eyed the other Pokemon on the field with distaste, then looked back at him, unwilling to move.
"NOW," he said. "And NO COMBO, either!"
Reluctantly, she curled up into an inpenatrable ball and started rolling.
"And no touching the Murkrow!!!" He yelled.
Too late. Shelly was on a wild, unstoppable Rollout. Spike only hoped Melody would keep her Pokemon out of the way.
