Margot chuckled in response to Crystal's joke, despite her lingering discomfort. "Well, I'll still keep an eye out. Luck never follows me for too long." She spared another glance at the counter. "I'm going to get something to drink," she said, before turning and strolling over to the counter. She ordered a coffee (something told her she wouldn't be getting any sleep that night anyway) and lingered by the second counter, studying her Pokeballs as she considered the situation at hand.

Crystal had probably realized what she was. After all, they'd run into each other more than once that day--she was bound to recognize her eventually. It was risky keeping the sixth Pokemon out--all evening she'd resisted the urge to stuff it in the inside pocket of her jacket--but there was no going back now. Somebody had to have noticed it. She just had to remain casual.

"Thank you," Margot replied, taking her coffee and dropping her change into the tip jar. She approached the table again, inhaling the intoxicating aroma of the drink. "So," she began again, "tell me about those contests."

Margot glanced back over at Sirius with a perplexed look. "I don't think so," she responded, taking a sip of her beverage and nearly burning her tongue in the process. Grimacing and trying not to make a big deal of it, she coughed and set the coffee down on the table. "I probably couldn't have seen them anyway. The blizzard's so bad I could barely see my own feet out there. Anyway, it's probably no big deal. People get all dressed up for the contest appeals; maybe they just hadn't changed yet." She glanced up at the small television on the wall. A few judges of the contests were gesturing animatedly, their words displayed in subtitles at the bottom of the screen. Almost all the facilities surrounding the tournament were broadcasting either the battles or the contests--some were showing both.

'Breaking news,' flashed across the bottom of the screen as one commentator received a slip of paper. 'Despite weather conditions, the final round of the Trainer Battles will be held at outdoor arena A. I'd sure hate to be those trainers,' the commentator chuckled, laying the piece of paper back on the desk and going back to talking about which Eeveelution was the most superior for contests.

According to anime rules, they start out with full points, and points are deducted from that. The first person to lose all their points OR the person with the least points when the time is up loses. ^^ You don't have to do it this way, but it's an idea.

I'm probably going to do it that way. (Sorry for the newb-ness, I'm used to the contests on Pokemon Pearl and Diamond for DS XD ) So points are deducted for what reasons?

Admittedly I've only ever watched a handful of the contest episodes. ^^; Most of what I know I have learned from Bulbapedia. Anyway, points are deducted when a Coordinator's Pokemon is hit by an attack, when an attack fails, when the opponent's Pokemon performs a particularly beautiful move or when the opponent's Pokemon uses the Coordinator's attack to its own advantage. You can also deduct points for poor writing mechanics.

When he came back over he looked at Margot and asked,"So who are you competing with in the finals?"

@pegasasu points seem VERY fair 😊 also when will this contest battle be over?In the amine it's either when the pokemon faints or the trainer runs out of points.

Cody looked over noticing Margot and Crystal's odd behavior,Cody grabbed a piece of paper scribbling down a note to Cloud,'Somethings up,can't u tell' Was scribbled on the note.

Cloud looked at Cody with curious silver eyes, giving an ever so slight nod. She turned her attention to the report on the television flashing brightly, averting her eyes from Cody and distracting herself. Eeveelutions didn't interest her much, besides Umbreon. Yellow rings on his ebony body glowed eerily against the navy blue winter sky.

"Nothings wrong with Tran, why would something be?" Crystal blinked, then turned her attention to the T.V.
"Umbreon are probley my favorite," She patted Umbreon, who looked up at her as if saying, "Thanks. You're my favorite typeof himan too."
"But I believe that Espeons are the best for all around contest use. A combination of Magical Leaf followed by a Teleport would be an amazing disappearing act, then you could smack the opponent from behind with a Pyschic, making a great appeal while attacking." Crystal smiled at Cloud, her hand subconsciously moving towards Gardevior's Pokeball.
Absol grew tired of the talking, and padded off somewhere, still keeping in distance if he needed to be called on. Umbreon got up, and walked with him, striding by his side.

"That kid Daniel," she replied, gesturing over toward him. "I haven't battled him yet, but I saw some of his matches and he seems pretty good. Hopefully it'll be a good battle," she finished with a nod and a slight smile.

As Tran was mentioned, Margot picked up her coffee again and proceeded to take a sip. Thankfully, the subject was dropped rather quickly. "I've always liked Flareon," she said conversationally. "I could see myself owning one some day. Flareon aren't fantastic battlers, though, so maybe . . . Jolteon?"

"I agree. Espeon have a wide variety of moves and have an elegant feel to their attacks, but I absolutely adore Umbreons. They have such a dark aura but can be so sweet on the inside. I know there's still a cute little Eevee buried inside that ebony shell, right Umbreon?"

Cloud cooed, pulling Umbreon up onto her lap with a foolish grin. Umbreon glared up at her with narrowing eyes but tolerated his owner's childlike behavior.

"I'm biased," Margot admitted, smirking at the displeased look on Cloud's Umbreon's face. "If there's a fire type Pokemon in the bunch, I'll pick it. I remember when I first got my license, I had my cousin fly me all the way to Mt. Pyre to look for a Vulpix. We, uh, didn't find one." She smiled nostalgically into her coffee cup. Margot waved goodbye to Cody as he left and then glanced over toward the clock. Startled, she drained the last of her drink and set off for the door as well. "Daniel!" she shouted over her shoulder. "We have to get going! We have fifteen minutes to get down there!"

At that time, Umbreon and Absol came back, and looked at her expectantly.
"Okay guys, let's go see a battle." she smiled to them, recalled them, and walked towards the areana.

To make this battle as fair as possible, could you please pick what Pokemon you're using now? Just so whoever sends out their Pokemon last doesn't have an advantage. I've already picked mine. In the way of proof, I was thinking we could both PM someone which Pokemon it is, and they'd make sure nobody cheated.

Daniel put on his two black wristbands and walked out into the Battle Arena A,the referee nodded to send out their pokemon but Daniel had to add an item real quickly.

Sirius ran to the pokemon center went to one of the phones called Professor Elm and said, " Can you please send my egg over?" Then he set his Luxio's pokeball on the transfer and waited for the egg to appear. He looked down wondering what type of pokemon it was and remembered when the strange man had given him it.Then he took it and ran to the Battle Compitition. He found a seat in the third row and he waited for the compition to start.

The rules were read quickly and efficiently, though the referee had to scream them at the top of his lungs. Margot, with her scarf pulled all the way up to her nose again, nodded in consent. She didn't understand why they couldn't have just moved the battle inside--now they were stuck out here, the wind and snow screaming around them and obscuring their vision. The people watching on the television sets indoors would probably have the better view. Still, at te referee's signal, she tossed her Pokeball into the air. "Let's go!" she announced, watching as the spinning orb burst open with a flash of light. "Digit!"

The Porygon-Z appeared with snatch of techno music, spinning its arms merrily. As a virtual Pokemon, the snow and wind wouldn't hurt it unless it began to hail. It seemed to relish the audience's cheers, beaming out at them before turning to face Daniel and his Pokemon. At this point, the virtual Pokemon had acquired its "game face".

Within the announcer's booth, the analysts were already chattering. "Oh," the first one exclaimed, "that's a good Pokemon to wager on, in a one-Pokemon battle."

"How so?" the other announcer asked in an amused tone.
