If? Des raised an eyebrow. It didn't sound like very precise stuff. Unfortunately, what he needed to do to cleanse the toxins from his system WAS a precise art, practically impossible to achieve mid-battle. He hated healing. Why was it so much more difficult then fighting?
As if to prove the point, he concentrated his power on his feet as the Falchion tried to rush him. He shifted his weight onto the balls of his feet, and just a minimal effort, he was soaring off the ground. (And his wings are NOT out.)
Raven's eyes widened. That was definitely not a height a human could jump to!
Des landed easily on a rooftop, ignoring with some difficulty the unpleasant crawling sensation as his feet returned to normal. It was always worse the longer he hadn't done that for. He wondered if Morphine had it the same when she changed. He'd never asked. Never talked to her if he could help it.

@Taffy789 YOU CAN! D:<

"Hi-yaa!" The points the girl won for the epic flying-kick were lost for unoriginality of the battle-cry. And Des was getting tired with this. He was just going to use his power and get it over with. Besides... The poison seemed to have started taking affect. His movements were slowing down... Darn.
Imagine Raven's expression when her foot collided with, instead of Des's hand, a set of the sharpest claws you never want to see, akin to a bird of prey's only... It WAS his hand. They tightened on her shoe, making her cry out in agony, then let go as she crashed into the roof. Her shoe (and the most of the foot inside) was ripped to shreds, and her leg, if not broken, hurt like h*ll from the impact. She faded out of conciousness (and then proceeded to roll then fall off the roof).
Des flexed his hand, now returning to it's normal fingered state, with a pained expression.

"Dang."
Zach watched as Raven painfully hit the ground after sliding off the roof, and wondered if he should've caught her.
He could see how this guy was Six.
The boy clung to the wall he'd postioned himself behind, while Raven was distracting Bird Boy, a bit tighter.
Now, how to proceed...
Well, the plan was currently, don't end up like Raven.
Zach quickly found a way onto the roof, and was happy to see he'd ended up right behind Des.
Without a second's hestiatation, Zach launched himself towards the Glaroe, grabbing his right arm and attempting to twist it, rather painfully, behind his back.

(Trying...Not...to...Godmod. DX Sorry. )

@Taffy789 And now, just to annoy you, I will mock your efforts 😃

Des wasn't given a chance to react to the newest assault as he was yanked backwards, causing him to stumble and would've fallen off the roof (he WAS poisoned) if a certain girl with bright pink hair hadn't steadied him... "You!" he exclaimed angrily. "What are you d-" he stopped mid-sentence.
Similarily, Evie, who had appeared out of thin air along with Col (and a teleporter) reached out to pull Zach back by the collar, noticeably rougher than the treatment Des got, because, well, it was Evie.
"Oh crud," Des regained his balance and looked around a bit like a small schoolboy who'd broken the rules, expecting to be reprimanded.
Four and Nine VS Penta and Hexa? This was going to get messy...
THAT KID WAS ALWAYS L- Oh.
Three more people consecutively appeared on the scene, following which Des ate rooftile (not LITERALLY. Would've said dirt, but you can read, "was faceroofed by Septa's angry foot).
"Maybe it's NOT Penta's fault you always mess up," the owner of the foot remarked as if observing the weather.
"Exaggeration," Des mumbled, voice muffled from, you know, being flat against the roof. He wondered if anyone was home.
The other two people? Tria and... The Falchion's Two.
This could turn out the worst clash of Numbereds in a quarter of a century. Or that's what he thought, until both sides declared, with perfect timing,
"Truce."

Thankfully, Zach's reaction time had always been rather amazing, and he only managed to JUUST catch himself before Evie accidently(Then again, it was Nine) sent him sprawling across the rooftop in a similar fashion of the Glaeores' VI (?IDK Roman numbers)
He wasn't sure what the other Numbers were thinking as what was about to be the, "Great French-Rooftop Fight", but Zach was busy wondering what would be the most effective method of escaping.
Not that he thought of himself as a coward, it was just his chances of surviving were grim at best, and Zach was one for self-preservation.
He'd just figured that jumping behind Evie, then off the roof would be his best bet when Truce was called.
Well, Zach figured that was fine.
Better than dying some horrible death by getting caught between Evie's bones and Bird Boy's talons.
Talk about messy.

@taffy789
Eww, that would be a nasty way to go XD

There was a pause. Evie was glaring daggers at Septa (unaffected), Col was looking supremely irritated at Two's appearance, and the latter was apparently admiring the town's rustic aesthetics. (Raven, of course, was lying unconscious. The teleporter (lazily) appeared next to her and she vanished with them).
"Assault during the Truce isn't allowed," Spike said finally, indicating Des (who was still face-tiled). "You attacked after it began."
Septa gave a slight, cold smile. "Nice to see you too," he muttered under his breath, then spoke up. "And so?"
"The Falchion you took earlier. If he's still alive, you're to give him back."
Col grimaced to Evie, and mouthed, "What a waste."
"What?" Morphine glanced mischievously at Tria. "New kid got bloodlust or something?"
Tria ignored this but eyed Septa strangely. Des, of course, couldn't really speak, and wouldn't have if he could have.
"... We do not have the person you are referring to in our possession. But instead-" he clicked his fingers.
Nothing happened for a minute, then thick smoke started rising a distance away... From the orphanage.
He smiled again.

@Asi
Okay, now give me a more detailed chart of the Roman Numerals. XD //completely lost//
---

"Children. Burning alive. Nice." Zach couldn't help but sarcastically mutter under his breath.
Then again, if that place was really a gov' lab, the thought of scientists slowly burning their way into heck was almost enough to make a guy crack a grin.
And despite the fact that he was in a somewhat-dangerous postion at the moment, Zach couldn't help but take in the sheer power that seemed to be radiating off the Numbers, as if they each were in control of their own personal mini nuclear power plants. The power was..., dare he admit it, a bit...frightening.
Or maybe a bit tempting?
Zach quickly shook that thought out of his head fast. Only idiots would try to control that much power. Fools.
He'd much rather try to be a fly on a wall, trying to learn intresting things, like the fact that, Kitten, by using simple deduction, was missing, and, it SEEMED as if the Glaeroes had him, but the whole "Knowing-When-People-Are-Lying" thng worked a lot better when half your mind was focused on making sure a fight didn't break out when you would get caught in the crossfire.

@Taffy789 D:

"Please. No one was inside," Septa's gaze hovered on Zach, and he didn't seem to think much of what he saw.
"Clause 269, "Truce dictates any area of land, group of people or stash of items which ownership of was being disputed over directly before the Truce is called into action is to be divided equally between both sides." Clause 281, "Partial or attempted sabotage of any of these three means the side forfeits their rights to any portion of all things in question within the same dispute."
Evie stared. Col was so lax, she'd forgotten how smart he was. And they'd both hated learning the stupid rules, he'd even sworn to never look at the thing twice or he'd die of boredom. She snorted, "Imagine if we held a 'Rulebook Clause Bee'."
"Thank you for explaining that," Septa rolled his eyes; as if he hadn't known that already. "The kids are all yours," after that, he, along with all the other Glaeroes, disappeared.
("Oh, no, I was so looking forward to letting off some steam," a random girl (with zilch power coming off her) yawned, stepping out from the shadows.
"Right. And who're you?" Evie retorted sardonically, without leaving room for an answer.) "Let's go back to base."
Two, like a stuck-up jerk, left them behind without a word. A teleporter then appeared to take them back.

Zach blinked when he saw the teleporter. "So we're finally going to stop terrorizing the French?" he questioned in monotone.
Those Numbers...Something about the fact he was sure anyone of them could've killed him...Most likely.
'Note to self: Double, maybe triple, training.' Zach noted to himself.

~Back at IoD~
Six let out a small sigh, leaning against a wall. Ever since Nine had decided to fight Seven...Well, Six had a cool twenty-five precent chance of surviving the Truce, which was a good seventy-five percent more than a chance Nine ever had.
Now Six had started training in his spare time...
The boy rubbed his neck, tense.
Evie wouldn't stop at Seven.
He had to be ready.
He didn't want to die.
Though, wasn't that the cold, hard truth everyone else at IoD had to face at one time?
"Heeeyy. What's up?"
The streched greeting and overly-peppy way of speaking meant it could only be one person.
Thomas spun around.
"Eight." He adressed her formally. He wasn't that fond the girl, then again, no one really was.
He almost pityed Two for having to put up with her, but the thought of the stern, unhappy Number having to work with eccentric Eight...The thought could make anyone laugh.
"Yep, it's me!" Eigth smiled, flashing her white teeth and flipping her now purple, bob-style haircut.
Another thing Thomas could never get about Eight; Where in HECK did she get the money for hairdye from?
Well, there WERE some weird rumors flying around...

"So, why do ya' look so glum?"
Six swatted away Eight's hand as she tried to poke his face.
Eight then proceeded to give him the puppy eyes, and Thomas sighed out of annoyence.
He decided to just humor her, and not mention Nine at all. She didn't know anything, right?
"I'm just...A bit worried about the Truce. There's a good chance i'll die." Six excellently fake-sighed.
"Sixy!"Eight gasped, wide-eyed, "Don't say such things! You'll survive the Truce! For sure."
Thomas blinked, turning to the girl, did she really mean, did she really believe?
"Eight?...You really think...?"
"Of course, silly!" Eight giggled, "You know why? Because you're smart, cool, and most importantly, Evie's gunna kill your butt before you even get to fight in the Truce! You can't die in the competion if you're already dead!"
Eight giggled once more, spun around, accidentily smacking a stunned Six with her bright purple hair, and then continued to skipped down the hallway.
Thomas stared down at his hands, dumbstruck.
"What the eff just happened?" he wondered outloud.

Elsewhere, someone else was wondering the same thing. "What is this place?" Col said finally, taking in the strange redecoration of what appeared to be the Western gate. What used to be a large, empty white room like any other now had thin green glowing gridlines all over, very reminiscent of Two's office. Evie eyed him suspiciously. SHE was the self-proclaimed head of style and design in the base, after all.
"We've had... An upgrade in secruity," Spike explained, reaching out and deactivating the invisible hovering nexus that had surrounded them with a touch.
"As long as no one brings back mind-scanning," Col muttered. The ques had been AWFUL.
Two smirked slightly and walked to the door, about to leave, when Col hesitated, then asked, "Are you all right?"
He paused, then replied, "I find that question insulting." Then he departed.
"Sheesh. That guy has no heart," Col complained, to which Evie shot him a cold look and also left.

[Oh the irony]

Raven, on the other hand, was transported back to the mainland for medical attention. It's sad when you're in heaven in hospital.

Zach had hung around the Numbers intill they all disbanded, and then started for his own room, his own bed.
"31337 report to Three's office immidentily." The loudspeaker boomed overhead.
"Dang it. Bet they're going to question me about Bird Boy..." Zach muttered outloud, but he had a feeling it wasn't that case.
After traversing the hallways for awhile, Zach quickly found Three's office, and pushed open the door.
---

When Eight found out that the other Numbers went to FRANCE without HER, she worked up a bit of a huff. Sure, she wasn't EXACTLY allowed off of IoD without supervision the size of a SWAT team keeping tabs on her, but it still wouldn't hurt to consider her, right?
(Actually, that supervision thing /kinda/ applies to any work off of the main base.)
And sure, sometimes Eight was a bit neglectful of..., well, everything, and her Squad had the second highest member-loss rate, even though it was INFORMATION.
'Cause to Eight, none of those things even really mattered.
The only thing that mattered (at that moment, at least)was finding out why she didn't get to go to Italy.
And that was her reason for sitting in front of Two's office, awaiting for him to show up so she could get a decent explaination.

@taffy789 Are you gonna write dat? X3

"Couldn't wait to see me," Two remarked, with only a hint of sarcasm, it was more a rhetorical question; for reasons he'd never admit, to himself or any living or inanimate object from here to mars. He didn't look at her as he passed and instead walked right up to the door and it unlocked automatically, recognizing his presence. He wondered if she was going to invite herself in or if she'd keep it brief; he really should get to work on those reports... Then he could have a holiday planning Col's punishment for his "attempted escape." But of course, he had time for Eight...
He always had TIME, after all.

What? I don't know what 3 looks like. x3 (AKA: I'm lazy. You do it. 😋 )

--
If Eight noticed any signs of sarcasism, (She usually didn't.), she didn't let on.
"Actually, I have a complaint." she huffed, following Two.
"Why did no one inform me on this trip to Germany? I always wanted to see New York, and I love Asain food!"
Despite the many geographical errors with that setence, Eight continued.
"And another thing..." There was a long pause.
"I forgot." the Number blinked blankly.
For some one with a memory better than a super computer, Eight sure "forgot" a lot.
"This is embrassing..." the girl muttered, but then seemed to quickly recover, regaining her overly-eager way of speaking.
"Anyway, what happened on the mission? Six told me about the Glaeroes in France-That was a lie, Six's barriers were medicore compared to Eight's mind-entering power-, did anyone die?...Wait, let me rephase that, did anyone IMPORTANT die? Like the burny-dude? Or did some Glaeroe's guts get hosed off a tree?"

@Taffy789 Three still hasn't returned 😋 You get Lily instead ^w^

"O-oh... You're here already..." Lily stammered a little, and reached towards a large pile of papers, which prompty collapsed. "Oh no! Sorry!" she apologized, and almost literally dived into the swamp of records, managing to locate the correct one with surprising quickness, considering what the previous events had just said about her. "WHY do I /always/ forget the password?" she moaned under her breath, shooting a longing glance towards the computer. She then hastily turned her attention back to the guest. "Sorry! You're-" she glanced at the page, "Zachariah, 313370, right?" She sounded fairly uncertain.

"Unfortunately," he replied, having passed over her complaint, a trace of amusement audible. "Although one of them seemed to get his face rearranged with a roof-tile pattern. Well, it will make for a more entertaining Truce, won't it?"
Spike paused, taking a moment to boot up his computer. He scrolled absently through the list of reports that had built up during his absence. One had just came in from the team sent to search for Three... Mm.
"Six doesn't happen to be hospitalized, does he? I'd hate for him to miss out on the games," he honestly wondered. Eight was just that unpredictable. He hoped she hadn't done anything to get him an order from One to punish her, because he wasn't sure how many more duties he could legitimately dump on others.

"No. Zachary." Zach corrected, eyeing the bumbling assistant with wonder. He wasn't expecting her, but he'd should've realized it; he hadn't heard anything about Three coming back yet, since rumors and knowledge spread surprisingly fast at IoD, but it's usually just trivial things.
"Three isn't back yet?"
It might've been stating the obvious, but, who knew, Zach might get lucky, and this girl could accidentally spill some useful information. She seemed as if she was the type to make such a mistake.
~

"Actually, Six is in the pyschotric ward, curled up in the featle postion, rocking himself back and forth mumbling incorherently as the nurses are trying to bring him back to reality." Eight stated in complete monotone, blinking.
"But he'll be fine later. You know, probley...Maybe... Ok, maybe not." she admitted, frowning.
There was a short pause.
"Annyyywaayy,", the girl continued, her serious monotone fading away and being replace with her regular speech pattern, "The Truce seems F-U-N! Then again, it's not as if I have to fight or anything, but the battles are awesome and gory! Just how I like 'em!"
There were a lot of rumors about Eight concerning the Truce and how she'd been "Eight" for about two years, and also rumors about how most people can't really remember her showing up in the first place. And what in heck was her name.
Sadly, all of those mysteries had been placed in the "Unsolvable" folder along with the Loch Ness and the Chupacabra.

"No, it's just that there are so many boring Zacs in this place, I thought Zachariah was cuter," she admitted sheepishly, then she grew serious. "Three's whereabouts are no concern of yours," she informed him, her tone suddenly turning haughty. "Don't ask me what they're playing at," she muttered, mostly to herself. "Anyhowww... Congratulations. You are, officially no longer another document piling up on my desk..." Lily trailed off. "Sorry. I was saying? Oh! So, you'll be competing in the Truce then," she thought for a moment. "If I were you, I should be training now... I really should be training now!" she gasped, apparently just realizing it. "I should have finished these hours ago! Ohh, he's gonna KILL me when he comes back!" she moaned, grabbing reports of a table and a pen she'd stuck behind her ear, and immediately began scribbling in her untidy scrawl, forgetting Zach's existence.

"Oh, really..." Spike raised an eyebrow, half-disbelieving. "Well, as long as his replacement is somewhat less irritating..." he conceded. Odds definitely were that Six'd be gone by the end of the Truce. He paused. He had to admit his ideas of an entertaining fight may vary a little from Eight's. Gory... Wasn't exactly word he'd put in the same sentence as awesome... But he'd never used a word like "awesome" anyway. "Seven and Nine should be fighting soon," he mused. "What's your bet?"

"A promotion, huh?" Zach muttered to himself.
Only took them about a year. Then again, he never exactly did anything to earn it...
If he'd REALLY wanted one, Zach would've acted with more valor... Because he was sure practically letting one of his old teams get crushed by rocks never really helped anything along.
Then again, this promotion just HAD to be right by the Truce... Good thing Zach had already decided to start training anyway.
(Does he get a spiffy new number? 8D )
-

"Who's replacement?" the Number questioned blankly, revealing that she had lied about the previous Six-Story.
"Oh? Seven and Nine." Eight pressed her lips together and stared at the wall, thinking.
"Hmmm. Nine. She forfited against me when I actually wanted to fight last year-Bone regrowth seemed like sure a cool power to go up against- so I say that she might have potential...And frankly, I forget Seven's power."
Eight regained her usual blank stare again, but was interupted when her stomach growled.
"Oh! I gotta go! I'm hungry!" Eight exclaimed hurriedly, then quickly flew out of Two's office faster than a cheetah.

Lils looked up. "What are you still doing here?" she questioned, before returning to her work.
(of course. Mysteriously appears with a sting as he leaves the room ^^")

Two sighed as she raced off. "I bet, no matter what, everyone up to five will be replaced by the end of the month..." he predicted aloud, then started multi-tasking by playing Solitaire at the same time as finishing those reports.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Col asked, leaning against the wall in the corridor outside Nine's room. Behind the locked door, Evie was preparing for her fight.
"I mean, I know he's a pushover and all..." how did the guy manage to get to Seven? He was so weak. "Yeah, I guess you do," he concluded. "Stupid question."
The silence agreed with him. "... Now go away," Evie glared through the wall, wishing he'd just leave her alone.

Zach was out the door before Lily even glanced up.(What could he say? His power can come in handy for making people look like idiots, which was one of it's many fanstatic uses.
As he exited, Zach felt a sharp prick on his left arm, and glanced down, knowing what it was even before he saw it.
113.
Heh. Lucky thirteen, huh?
Zach smirked, and rubbed the spot on his arm for a bit longer. It'd always seemed like he had the worst good luck.
Then again, it really wasn't the time to think about luck, even though it was probley what he'ld need most for the Truce matches.
No, now was the time to train.

The idea that one could fry an omlette on the ground is a bit extreme, but gives a pretty clear impression of the climate; the sun practically seared her eyebrows off, it was so hot. It had been how long; minutes, hours, days, months? since Xela had ventured into this area, and her tan was now so dark she was virtually rendered unrecognizable. She hoped she wouldn't develop cancer from it. But still, she dared not risk the cool promises of the shadows; here, the darkness was deadly.
Not that you could call the heights safe.
1) "You're a Feral, aren't you?" the boy snarled, their swords clashing; his a flashy scimitar, strong, sleek and probably worth a ton, hers a rusty old piece of junk she'd half-heartfelt scavenged off some you-don't-want-to-know-long dead Falchion, as a "just in case".
Xela didn't answer. He charged at her, but her hard-earned flexibility, agility, and a large dosage of luck allowed her to dodge just at the crucial moment and...
2) send the boy tumbling into the chasm of shadows.
Feral. Feral meant wild. Feral meant free.
All that matters is staying alive, Xela sighed to herself. Even if this wasn't how she wanted to live... It was better than nothing, right?
3) Oh, and she was going to run out of water soon.
Overall, today was pretty lousy. But still... Alive.
