Dang, she was persistent. "If you can still talk, then your injury isn't painfully enough for you to be making a deal out of it." Zach helpfully pointed out. "And yes, I got promoted for saving your sorry butt from getting killed." Zach paused, thinking for a moment. Well, she was here anyway... Now, how to play this one, that was the question... "Now, I see you didn't lose that foot. Why would you even THINK about chasing after Glaeroe even after I told you what that guy really was?" Though he made sure to look relaxed, as if he truly was asking an hones t question, Zach's mind was tense, completely focused on Raven and ready to detect even the slightest lie in her story.

Raven had been expecting that question. "Well..." she looked shyly at the ground. "Y'see... I thought he'd be able to tell me about Blaine... I was worried," she sniffled. "Did they find him?" She then dropped the concerned act. "What happened while I was gone, anyway?" she resumed her distantly amused expression. "Wow. I didn't think feet were so closely related to speaking. Is this better?" she took step, shifting her weight onto her bad foot, and paled, gasped, and fell over in a "dead faint". She stared up at him. "Sorry. That's the painkillers. Idiot." Raven smirked.

'Liar.' Zach decided in his head immidentily, then continued disregard everything after that. If it was important enough to lie about...Well, he didn't need to really concern himself with it at the moment, that could come later. Besides, it didn't seem as if it was going to have a direct impact on him anyway... "You know, they probably kidnapped the kitten, and you must always assume the worst in those cases." Zach turned his back to the fallen Raven, not offering to help her up. "Oh, and don't worry, nothing much happened, it was just your regular Truce match. Everything was completely dandy." He made sure load enough sarcasm in that sentence to fill a truck. Then Zach strolled away, heading back to his room.

"Oh, come on!" Raven was determined not to let the suspect out of her sight, no matter what. She was the best when it came to tracking, she NEVER let her target escape! Even if this was a little different from locating and destroying a Feral or a team that'd ventured too close to their hideout..."You're my bestest friend on the whole entire base," she tried out her kitten eyes on him, and her voice made her sound five years old.

Zach stopped dead in his tracks, turned to Raven, and gave her his best "WTF" face. "...How many of those pain killers did you take?" Zach asked a bit cautiously, shaking his head slowly. "Tsk, tsk. For your information, pill abuse does nothing in the long run, you know."

She shrugged, smiling wickedly. "It worked, didn't it? Now, just be nice and help the poor injured lady out, and be greatful I'm not spending my time spreading strange rumors about your sleeping habits, or some such, and MAYBE I could tell you something interesting. Like maybe you're wondering why the secruity's stepped up all of a sudden. Or what the little test you'll be experiencing in a few hours entails. Or who exactly is trying to bribe a certain person with special infatuation powers into making you like her... Wait, don't worry, I must have heard wrong. Looking at you now, it must have been someone else. No girl in their right mind," she shook her head sadly.

For a few moments, Zach considered leaving her on the floor to hopefully rot, but he had a feeling Raven wouldn't leave him alone if her life depended on it. Zach more-or-less trudged back to where Raven was, grabbed her shoulder, and pulled her roughly up. "I'm starting to regret not stabbing you on that mountain." Zach sighed, wondering what were the risks if he went to a higher up and tried to tell them about Raven. Hmm... Maybe the worst would be them asking him why he didn't say anything before, but that could be easy to lie about...

"I've had better days..." Zach admitted with a sigh, turning away from Raven. Now that she mentioned it, he DID feel a bit more tired than usual, but he had spent all of yesterday training... Zach grimaced at how unready he was force the Truce-The power he'd felt radiating off of the Leader's back in France, and even today...he was positive he was no where near that. Letting a small chuckle escape him, Zach decided that it was probably the easiest thing to blame Raven for getting him into this mess, the only reason he'd bothered to save her anyway was back he wanted to see if ge could get information out of her, but she was being stubbornly tight-lipped... It was at that moment Zach realized he had spaced out and had been staring at the wall for the past three minutes. "Er-hum." , he cleared his throat, trying to get the conversation back on track, "...So, Shadow, what do you know about the trial?"

"A lot," she smiled secretively, although... She really hadn't thought this through. How could she know all about it, when she hadn't been there, let alone in the First D, last year, and no one was allowed- and most wouldn't if they couldn't- talk about it. Then she remembered a couple of her friend's back in Second D. "Second Division- Punishment- Torture. Yeah, the Trial is pretty much our line of work..." she whistled innocently. "Wanna go somewhere? Cafeteria's pretty empty around this time," Raven suggested.

"That told me nothing-Let me take a wild guess here and say that you pretty much lied about the whole, "I can tell you about the trial" thing." He frowned, and wondered if he should simply ditch her, but decided against it. "Sure, whatever." Zach shrugged his shoulders, having a feeling there wasn't exactly a "No." to the option. He started in the direction of the cafeteria, purposely keeping a few steps ahead of Raven whiel walking.

Raven frowned, trailing behind him and pretending not to wince every time she stepped on her bad foot.Either this guy was pretty stupid, or he thought her extremely stupid... Which made him pretty stupid...

"Excuse me if I believed you could actually be useful and not annoying." Zach stated without turning around to look at raven. He then stopped suddenly. "There's the cafeteria. Well, being part of the Elite squad might have it perks, I heard the food was decent compared to the regular slop."

"I just don't allow myself to be USED," she kept on walking, wishing the doors were the good old-fashioned push-and-pull, rather than the modern automatic slidies, as she missed slamming them back on certain people's faces. Pulling up a chair, she checked the day's special. Frozen yoghurt? Yes!

NOW WATCH ME MAKE MANY MORE TYPOS THAN THAT IN MY WRITING! 8D ~~~~ Zach grabbed a plate, got his food, and sat down a seat away from Raven. Jabbing his meal a few times with a fork before taking a bite, he couldn't help but notice his "healthy and nutritous" meal looked like something out of a T.V dinner...And tasted only half as good. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, thinking."...Somehow, this is still the best food I've had in quiet a while. Then again, with only the plaster orphan pancakes in France to compete with the IOD slop, how is this really a suprise to me?" Zach shook his head, smirking. He turned to Raven. "I'm guessing the real perk is in the ice cream, right?"

@Taffy789 Actually, we spell it Yoghurt in NZ 😋 It's quite common, actually 😋 Google it.She only shrugged in reply, digging into her yoghurt. She couldn't really comment... She'd never tried the ice cream here. "Heaven..." Raven sighed when she'd finished, approximately 0.269 seconds later.She stared down at her empty plastic cup. "You know what..." she started casually, as if she was going to remark on the weather.A few tables away, a figure smiled, and on twisting her hand behind her back, took aim, and released, a sharp shard of metal shooting at a deadly speed towards Raven's unguarded back.

@Asi Really? So your yogurt punches you... That's awesome. 8D "I wonder if I should-" Zach started to ponder outloud but suddenly interrupted himself to roughly push Raven out of her chair. "Oh, clumsy you." Zach remarked with a pitying sigh, as if it Raven had fallen on accident. He calmly picked up his tray, and then moved to the other side of the table, where he continued to quietly eat without another word.

"Zach!" Raven yelled in shock as she slammed into the ground. That was going to leave a bruise. "What was that for?" she demanded angry, brushing hair out of her face and sitting up. "Aah-" she bit back an exclamation of pain on trying to move her injured foot, which she'd twisted in the fall, somehow. Grimacing, she corrected it and managed not to bite her tongue off in the process, somehow. At least she could look after herself. Raven was just so relieved she'd chosen to wear leggings under her skirt that morning.The figure made a face. How? Never mind that. They'd get that girl somehow. They'd never failed yet.

"Can you get up without an entire medical team helping you or not?" Zach asked, glancing in Raven's direction before turning back to his plate. What was THAT? Zach's mind reeled. More importantly, was it targeting him...No, of course not, it was directly heading for Raven...Not a projectile sent for him that just went off course... Now WHY? She was rebel, of course. Maybe some one found out. Which meant Zach himself would get in trouble...But no, a Number would've handled it themselves. Which left three LIKELY choices.One.Someone with a vendetta against Raven. Which would probably be something not worth killing over.Two . Rebels wanting to kill her. Raven a triple agent? Zach didn't find it likely. Lastly, three... Them. Zach closed his eyes and remembered France. Why did that Glaeroe specifically get Raven to follow him...Well, there were many likely variables, but sometimes you had to skip over those...There was no other reason to support this that Zach knew of, however. But either way, Zach could conclude it had to be someone with outside connections...No one would be stupid enough to attempt to kill someone inside the base if they didn't have a reliable way OUT... Could he risk a glance now? No...Don't risk it. If Raven was going to die, it was her fault. Best thing to do is not get more involved than he needed to be.

Raven hissed under her breath. Oh, he was just hopeless! She wasn't in an accommodating mood, and right now she just plain and simple couldn't stand him. She considered hauling him up against the wall and FORCING answers out of him... But looking around, that wasn't really an option, not in a cafeteria full of people...This was it, she was out of here... Raven strode out of the cafeteria, fuming, without a backwards glance. If she had, she may have noticed her little shadow, flicking long silver hair back and excusing themself from their table in order to follow the target out.

X3 IOD gameplay! 8D You can do parkour on the Volcano at A-F and run from Glaeroe guards! 😈 *Cue the "WTF" stares* ~~ Zach's logic: Raven+dying=Not his problem. If anything, it would actually be HELPFUL to him... On that happy note, Zach decided to go get some frozen yogurt, and enjoy what JUST might be his last meal if he bombed his trial and skipped breakfeast tommorrow.

I didn't want it to be confusing for your poor little head ._."Excuse me?! I can't- well, why not?" Raven's head swiveled towards the outburst, cocking an eyebrow in bemusement."Ugh, c'mon... Please?" the tone turned pleading. Several steps down the right turn off revealed a brunette arguing with a wall."Look, I don't care what he says- What rank am I? Look. That's immaterial. Open the freaking door already!" the girl paused, and turned, eyes slowly zeroing in on Raven. She blushed. "Uh, don't mind me..."Raven stared. "Where are you trying to get into?"The girl turned back to the apparently normal wall, as if she'd heard it speak to her. "Oh, please. I am not giving you my arm. Either let me in, or get Four's butt over here and I'LL explain what the problem is!"Raven strained her ears, but she couldn't hear a thing. Turns out she didn't know the base as well as she thought, because the wall suddenly opened and the brunette stepped inside, sighing an exasperated, "THANK you."

The assassin sighed with relief when the girl disappeared. That brunette was something else, she decided. She'd had absolutely no aura, no power signature, nothing... Just like an ordinary human. But there were no ordinary humans in IOD. Never take unnecessary risks. Never try and take on someone you know nothing about.But now the little Raven was all alone... Although, she'd like to get away from that strange wall before she made a move.Stella silently re-emerged from the solid metal wall and resumed tailing her prey.She loved the Falchion's base. All this metal, just for her use... It was heaven for her power. No one could defeat her here!Although... Was this really where she should be? Back at home... She hesitating, considering all the turmoil back at her base. She'd asked her boss whether he'd like her to check on his sister, that's all. When he didn't answer, she'd got the strangest feeling he didn't even know who she'd been talking about... Before she left, Angel had shut herself in her room, refusing to see anyone....The quicker she got this over with, the quicker she could return to the base. Again, Stella took aim.

Unlike the cafeteria, here the corridor was empty and the shadows still. This time, something's shadow whizzing towards her at deadly speed definitely set Raven's alarm bell ringing. But she was still unrecovered, barely managing to fling her body aside in time. Heart pounding, there was nothing for it; she raced down the hall, fast as she could. Her room, that was all she could think of, the only safe place. It had to be around here, somewhere.No more missiles followed her as she slammed the door and fell upon her bed, shaking.There was no mistaking this. They wanted her dead. For the first time in years, Raven broke down and cried.The gray-haired girl cursed. There wasn't much point in attacking now, now the target was on her guard. That would mean a fight, the last thing she wanted. She could wait... Patient. Bide her time.

TIME LAPSE~ 8D Also, that made me a bit sad. ._. Just saying. X3 Frowning in concentration, Zach finished tying the final knot in the shoelaces of his boots. He quickly did a double take of his inventory in his head. He had his sword, his concealed knives, poisoned and not,(Did they allow poisoned weapons in the battle?....Well, not his problem if they didn't search him beforehand.), and he was dressed for combat... Zach took a deep breath, and stepped outside his door. ... He was immensely suprised to find a typed letter attached to his door with duct tape. "Dear One-Underling, Have great fun in the Trials! Also, I believe in last meals, so I took to getting special, "Califlower Suprise" muffins baked just for you guys in the Trial! Enjoy, and come to the cafeteria to pick it up! With great love(No homo...Unless you're a hot guy), Eight. PS: The suprise is that the muffins are made of califlower! PSS: ...And they're burnt. " Zach blinked a few times before wading up the paper and tossing it on the floor. If he DID die today, he figured he might actually be okay with it- Who'd want to be a Number when you're working with...That?

He didn't reply to this, so she added, grumbling; "Next thing I know, half the base will become teaspoons."Col turned his head to give the girl who was witness to all this a, "if you don't get rid of her right now, you are dead," look, only to find her frozen, apparently entranced by the brunette. Mentally sighing, he determined that he'd have to do it himself, when, all of a sudden, their eyes met. Four found himself trapped. No where to hide. Then she spoke again, only this time, it was different."Is this how you repay them?" she asked, in a tone quite unlike her usual. Darker, less feminine, stronger. But it wasn't the voice or even the words that did it. She simply exposed the soul.

@Asi Why didn't the crazy soul girl ask Eight to go shopping? .3. She would've jumped at the offer... You know, if she was allowed off base for less than important missions. X3 Zach somehow managed to get to the trial-waiting-room place(IDK! 😃 ), which was just basically the hallway outside the training rooms. After being informed that the current person taking the test had been the twelvth, Zach decided to take a seat on the floor next to a frowning girl with short hair, who strangling a lump of what seemed like white mush mixed with brown flakes-It seemed as if someone was taking out stress on a muffin.
