@Taffy789 Because she knew Col was literally drowning himself in depression? ^w^"

And that's how Col found himself buried under the Leaning Tower of Shopping Bags, some Airport in China. Or somewhere.
"I loves shopping at airports," unidentified freaky girl confided to him as they made their way through the crowd (UFG often shoving people out of the way, exclaiming, "Ohmygosh, didn't see you there! So sorry!", helping them up, then telling Col to pass her the hand-sanitiser). "Everything's so clean, big, and you can laugh at the idiots who have to run to gateway 69 to catch their plane. Ooh, look, another-" she paused, looking at a store name, then shook her head. "Nah, I can't pronounce that name either," she skipped inside. One might have wondered where she got all the money from. But she wasn't paying. All it took was a few words to the shop assistant, and they handed over whatever she wanted.

Lily, frowning and pinching her nose, sat down next to him in the line. She was fourteenth, of course. The reason she was holding her nose was because she was allergic to cauliflower. Unfortunately, saying so would reveal a weakness someone could exploit against her in the tournament. So she kept silent, instead trying to concentrate on a strategy.

"Thirteen?" a voice called out the next trial Number.
Zach let out a small sigh and stood up.
He started for the door when a voice called up, " 'Luck."
He glanced back over his shoulder to see the girl who had been choking her muffin looking straight at him.
"Good luck?" the girl shrugged a bit less comfortable about his glance back, for she really had nothing else to say.
After a short pause later, she added, "What do you want? Yoda advice or something?"
Zach finally turned back around, shrugging himself. "Luck can't help me survive."
"That's depressing. But you come to expect everyone to be their own version of depressing-or incredibly pyscho-here." The girl stuck out her tounge. "Tragic, really. Poe would've done real wonders if he'd came here, believe me."
Well, the girl was speaking the truth, in some aspects. But Zach decided not to comment, and instead walked into the Trial room.

(Yoda advise? Hmmmm...
Eye on Birdie, you must keep. BD
For IOD: Knives, you must stab people with.

Seriously though, why is everyone so fracking depressing? v.v I know your best friend just died, but still! DX //bummed out//. I would go CRAZY here, and not from my extreme PTSD. FROM THE PEOPLE. >.> LITERALLY. )

@Taffy789 Nuu X3 She's much, much more dangerous 😉
LOOL XD Are my characters too depressing? DX

"HEY! LILZ!" Danielle's voice resounded through the corridor, she skidded, hair flying, and narrowly escaped from smashing her head into the wall and achieving a permanent vegetive state.
"Oh? Ahh, haha, it's you, Dani..." Hard as it is to jump out of your skin while sitting, somehow, Lily managed it. It helped that she had power over the gravitational fields, of course.
"Guess what? Karen PASSED," she smiled, sinking down next to her.
"Ohhh," Lily replied, a little nervous. Well, Karen had been a given...
"I wish -I- could do it this year," Danielle was envious.
"I d-" Lily began to whine, but she was interrupted.
"Oh, and Four's missing," she confided, a little too loudly, as the whole corridor heard, and you can imagine the reaction. First Three, One, now Four? Only 1/4 of the top four remaining??
"Yeah, he went off with this chick..." she continued, sounding jealous.
Did the hysteria decrease or INcrease....?

"Who are you?" he eventually asked, despite his attempts to stay disinterested (and maybe she'd leave him alone), the UFG was so, well, interesting.
"Uh uh," she waggled a finger at him. "According to the rules, I have to stay INCONSPICIOUS," she said it like she had difficulty pronouncing it.
Col mental-facepalmed. Well, that just gave everything away, didn't it... "Wait. You can't seriously be saying One sent YOU," he stared. One had been... Responsible. Mature.

Knew it! 😃
And no, it fits the mood, but it's I think this place is usually void of a lot of emotion, and some (A lot of, actually) things I just have trouble writing. >~< It annoys me, and I usually hafta bang my head against a wall.
~~~
Zach blinked as soon as he entered the Training room, for it appeared to him that he'd just entered the jungle at A-D.
"I wonder how many illusionists are making this thing?" he wondered out loud. Sighing, he remembered what little information he'd picked up about the Trial... "Like TOUGH, but ten times worse."
...What the heck was TOUGH anyway? He knew it was some testing-place that a lot of the people who came from the school had been to, but he didn't come from a school, he came from a gov' lab that was in one of the Datokas.(South or North? Zach never really figured out himself. Never got a chance to go out...Let's just say he got the WORST sun burn when he first came to IOD...And his first mission was to the Desert for a few days. Yeah, it stunk. )
"No one SENDS me anything," she snapped. "Well... Except flowers. And chocolates. But I don't take orders," she smiled and stretched.
Everyone takes orders. Even One. Col sighed. He'd a feeling this wasn't going to be good... "Right..."
"Ugh, not that again! Do you think this is what Evie would have wanted? You moping around, moping around. You're ALWAYS stupid moping around!" she muttered. "It's impossible to work with!"
This time, Col scowled. Why did she act like she knew them? Only Col called Nine Evie. "Do I know you?" he asked flatly.
"Of course you do!" she waved her arms around randomly. "We've met so many times!" she left him to ponder this as she pounced on a new shop.
Sparks flew. She felt her sword practically melting at the end, and remembered that steel was a good conductor of heat. Too late; she couldn't feel it anymore.
"I will never join you," she hissed, slipping under the other's guard in order to slash at their leg; only her sword was countered and flung out of her grip. Abandoning that, she just punched the other in the face, and they went flying.
'They,' because Xela really couldn't tell. She approached with a smirk, red hair flowing wildly behind her, almost one with the flames; inhuman, she was a goddess of war and fire.
SHE'S MARS~~~ 8D
'Holy crud, I can't see a thing in here!' Zach realized with a start as the thick rainforest fog started to roll in, obstructing everything from his view.
'At least I can still know where I'm going because of my power...'
He quietly jumped over a log that was in his path, and wondered what the Trial was going to be about.
At least he wasn't in a Mountain setting, for that meant the illusionists probably wouldn't make any rabid moose appear... Which, and he HATED to admit it, even to himself, were some of the scariest things he ever saw on IOD.
...EVER.
After what seemed like a few more minutes of just walking around in the fog with his hands in front of him as if he was blind, (It could've been seconds actually, or maybe even hours. Who knew with illusions...) Zach finally heard a rustle off to his right.
"So they finally decided to-"
He never had anytime to finish that setence before a foot flew into his side, sending him flying face first into a nearby tree.
~~~
IOD trivia:
Rabid moose aren't actually rabid...Well, most of them aren't.
Just very extremely agressive.
...
EXTREMELY agressive.
...You get the picture. X3
And yes, rabid moose are an actual thing now, anyone who says otherwise shall die. 😃

@Taffy789 Post Trivia on the discussion topic 😉 Then maybe I can do Two's interview o.o

Yet she cursed and stood helpless as vines wrapped around her leg. Oh, she hated chains. Her only weakness... What could she do when they wrapped around her own body? She dared not use her power, for fear of hurting herself.
That's when the first shivering note drifted up to the peak, chilling the three combatants to the bone. On a whim, she clamped her hands over her ears, and it was this instinct that saved her life. Deaf to the music, she bore witness to the two Ferals' final moments; they simply keeled over and died, the life drained out of them. Stone-cold to their suffering, she turned to greet her savior.
Xela's voice sounded strange with her hearing all muffled, but she ignored it. "That was unnecessary," her eyes narrowed when they found a small girl, only appearing about seven or eight years old. Eight year olds simply didn't appear on IOD. It was against the law. What was even more shocking were her injuries. She was covered in gashes and cuts, fresh ones. She looked faint from loss of blood.
"H-help..." Xela read on her lips, then the child blacked out.

*Le tragic sigh*
Normally, I wouldn't post anything due to the lack of livelyhood anywhere, but I'm going on a week long trip soon, so better now than in a week, right? v.v
~~
It took a few precious seconds of his time, but Zach managed to recover his ability to see straight just in time to block the next flurry of punches that were quickly sent his way.
Then, the attacker dissappeared, quick as it had appeared.
"What the?" Zach muttered out loud, then focused his power on tell him where the attacker was.
Well, there was one to his left, right, now right in front of him, and somewhere behind him...
"Dang, these illusionists did their research." Zach sighed.
Teleportering were among the hardest powers Zach ever had to face, next to speed users and a few others.
Mostly because you not only had to predict their next attack, but also where they were going to appear next...And it never helped that they sent a good four teleporter illusions after him.
And the fog just made it hard for Zach to move anywhere without either tripping, or taking his concerntration off of the illusions...
Sensing danger, Zach quickly rolled out of the way as a teleporter-Zach decided to nickname the girl illusion as "A"- dropped down below onto the same ground Zach had been standing on moments before.
(I hate fight scenes when I'm not motivated to write. v.v )

@Taffy789 As do I ._.
Whaddya mean, "lack of livelyhood anywhere"? v.v

Why was she doing this? Some kind of deep, deep down maternal instinct? Xela frowned, soaking some makeshift bandages in precious water before replacing them. There. That should do. Staring up at the dripping stalagmites, she sighed. She'd finally been forced to venture into the chasms of A-B, not only for water, but because the heights had suddenly ended, dropping away for a gap about half a kilometer wide, or at least, far, far too far for Xela to dare attempt to jump, with no way around it in sight. The fact that she'd been carrying another human- even if only a child- had also weighed her down a little.

No one else is posting. v.v
~~
"A" sneered and produced a small knife from her sleeve, slowly walking up to Zach, who had pressed himself up against a tree-Wait, if this was an illusion, what was he REALLY up against? A wall, pillar?
Zach winced as a sharp pain ran down his arm, forcing him to-literally-jump to the left, away from the second illusion, a boy, who he decided to nickname, "B".
His let eyes off of his attackers for a slight second, examining the long gash running down his left arm, which was bleeding so much, his number was completely covered by his own blood.
"That sure doesn't FEEL like an illusion..." Zach winced. "But a wound like that shouldn't be bleeding that much..."
Focusing once again, he drew one of his swords from his sheath on his back, devolping a quick attack plan in his head.
...Okay.
Taking a deep breath, Zach viciously swung his sword to the empty air on his right, and wasn't at all suprised when his blade met the soft tissue of a person's(Or should he say, illusion's?) unarmored midrift.
The illusion that would've been known as "C", was down; three to go.

@Taffy789 I don't expect them to v.v
And I'm really sorry, but... Neither of the characters I'm writing about are in a funny mood >.< It just wouldn't darned work... ><

"You're alright," Xela remarked, with a touch of relief, as the little girl finally stirred. Dipping cupped hands into a pool, she gently poured some water between the girl's slightly parted lips. Thankfully, the child didn't choke and instead managed to swallow the liquid.
The girl tried to push herself up into a sitting position, and, a few minutes later, with a little help, succeeded.
"W-where am I? Who are you?" It was asked softly, politely, and sounded like music compared to the aggressive snarling which was the only, "human" tone Xela had been hearing for... Well.
"My name..." she paused. Was this the first time she'd ever told anyone her name? Out loud? "Xela. You saved me from those Ferals," she admitted, casting an embarrassed look at the rocky floor.
"You're one of them too, aren't you?" the girl asked curiously. "You look familiar..."
Xela ignored the last comment. "I suppose..." she answered slowly.
"You're not like them..." the girl glanced at the ceiling. "My name's Guithe."

And now, a continuation of terriblenes. 😃

After a few minutes, Zach decided he was doing pretty well.
To avoid having to focus on where he was going, Zach stayed in one spot during his fight, letting the illusions come to him.
Though, they seemed to realize the error in their attack plan when the illusion that would be "D" got decapitated.
Retreating into the shadows, something told Zach that they weren't going to be on the offensive anymore.
With that in mind, he followed them deeper into the foggy "forest".
...All in all, it would've been an easy victory if both of the teleporters hadn't appeared at the exact same time, confusing him greatly and causing him to back into a log, sending him toppling over onto the ground.

@Taffy789 Yes, but now I feel like my posts are boring... ><

Xela frowned. Guithe... Maybe it rang the smallest tinkle of a bell, but it clearly wasn't anything important in Alex's life, and definitely not worth a trip down memory lane.
"Guithe... So. How did you get here? You look.... Six years old or something?" she really wasn't the best conversationalist or anything, but this was, well, interesting. Her eyes slowly widened as Guithe recounted her tale. She could KO, even kill, by singing. Of course the Glaeroes had wanted her... Who wouldn't? Then, when she finally reached her escape, she wasn't hearing tiny Konguro'o bells anymore; it was more like a giant church bell. And not for a wedding either. Or Sunday service, or whatever else those randoms had.
Naturally, when Guithe stared up into space and murmured, "I have to go back," Xela's expression hardened. "I'm going with you."

Angerily muttering every curse he knew at once, Zach rolled out of the way of another attack, the knife literally burying itself into the ground next to his head.
Somehow, he managed to pull himself back onto his feet, sensing the next punch.
Ready, Zach scooted to the right as a hand flew past his head, skillfully grabbing "A's" arm as it flew past.
In the next few seconds, the illusion's arm was broken and it was face down on the ground, suffering from a 'minor' broken neck injury.
Zach let out a deep breath, now wondering when the trial was about to be done... Well, it was almost done.
The boy sighed, and ducked, dodging another punch that came from behind him.
Really? This was starting to get repetitive
Spinning around, Zach took to dodging every blow "B" tried to land on him, and did so rather easily-That's what he loved about his power. He didn't even have to think, the movements and actions just came naturally as soon as he sensed them, it was almost like his mind and body were in perfect sync.
As soon as Zach sensed an opening, he took it, upper cutting the illusion, and running his sword through it in the next second.
The illusion collapsed, and faded, along with the entire jungle.
"I think that's the sign I passed." Zach smirked to himself, and started for the door.

-Done. 😋

"They rate your level on your performance in this test," Lily muttered, concentrating. They just thought it a matter of pass or fail- they were wrong. Something like the top fifty got to continue on. And Lily had to be in it.
She was so distracted that as soon as the door opened she forgot that someone else had to leave the room before she could enter.

Retirement. That was it, wasn't it? There was supposedly one person in the Falchion's base who had served the required number of years as a leader and achieved retirement; they could do whatever they liked, unless they revived direct orders from one. They were a legend, a myth, half-forgotten.
"So that's... You," Col glanced at the happy shopoholic covertly, through his dark lashes.
Annoyingly enough, her response was to smirk and ask him, with an exaggerated, comical gasp, how he'd known her name.
"What?" he sighed, not amused.
"Just that one mission, I had to go undercover with the name Yu," she explained apologetically, eyes still on the shelves; apparently Hello Kitty merchandise fascinated her.
Col resisted the urge to facepalm.
"But you're right," she continued, curiously pressing a large, TRY ME, kind of button, and jumping backwards when the monster kitty started meowing in a horribly electronic voice. "I just came out of retirement; and I'm starting to really hate my predecessor for this," she glowered at the cat thing.

"Oh! Glad to see you made it out in one piece!" a squirrelly looking girl with glasses greeted Zach as he exited the simulator.
"Okay, well it looks as if..." , she stole a glance at clipboard in her hand, "Your next test is in that room over there."
The girl motioned to a room farther to her right, and Zach noted that the number on her arm signified she was from squad eight.
"So they are seeking to test me to death." Zach muttered under his breath, and started for the next room.

With one step into the room, the lights blinked on, row after row after row, one after the other, no beats missed. Bam bam bam bam bam. They followed the commands of the switch, their superior, without hesitation. Which in turn, answered to him. Mindless machines.
His footsteps echoed hollowly as he walked across the empty room. Step step step step step. They too, were perfect. He stopped, and looked around the room. He remembered when they'd given it to him. Remembered wondering what he was to do with so much space. The others, he supposed, had decorated them corresponding to their tastes. But why bother... It could appear to him however he wished it to. Just like he could appear how the others wished him to be. Only he didn't. Because they were annoying.

--Stares at space for one hour--

...Ah, forget this! D:<

The girl scribbled a few more notes onto the the clipboard, organizing the different notes and scores she'd been receiving for the last fifteen minutes.
Information, Squad eight was in charge of handling, sorting, and organizing the scores...Though some of the people in the squad were better at deskwork than actual combat anyway, to be truthful. (The nerd group. XD XD XD But still okay fighters. ._. )
Slam!
The girl looked up from the clipboard, and at the door that'd just been roughly flung open.
The boy from before, Zach was his name, exited the room he'd just been tested in. Looked like it just taken him fifteen minutes...
"Congrats! Looks like you passed your second trial!" she sing-songed as he exited. "Leave now, don't call us, we'll call you!"
Zach shrugged. "Pretty easy...."
There was a small pause, and then he continued, in a darker tone, "And it looks like I only had to stab one person to do it."
Then he left.

Two entered the room through the same door Zach had carelessly left open a few short moments ago. Trailing behind him, a little bit of a lost puppy, was a dark-haired, green eyed boy, who hesitated at the entrance, until Two turned back and gestured to him to come in. Mentally, Spike frowned. Seemed like a genuine case of amnesia to him. Maybe... No, he ought not to ask her...
"This is part of the Eighth, and just in case you haven't noticed already, they're working on the Trials- nothing you need to worry about," Spike explained shortly.
He then addressed the room. "You are all to remove any mental barriers you may have. This will only take a moment. Just a, ah, routine mindscan. For spies," he kept his face straight and unreadable, even though there was definitely no such thing as a "routine" mindscan, and the fact that such a search would take ages per person, unless the user was exceptionally powerful; which this kid certainly wasn't, only able to read immeadiate surface thoughts. But he was the best he could rustle up at a moment's notice, and would do the job; so long as Two made it very clear what they were looking for, any spies wouldn't be able to help thinking that fact. Besides, the guy was strangely, well, skilled, despite being weak.

Thomas had been having a hard week.
Not ONLY had he been stressing out all week over his vigorous, last-minute-truce training; Col had somehow managed to sear off all of the hair on his arms with that little "stunt" he'd pulled yesterday. Things were just getting better and better...
"I hate this Truce. I just want it to be over already." he sighed, leaning his head against the wall in the ghost town hallway outside of his room.
"I hear you! I want this Truce to be over too!"
Thomas' blood turned cold. Why did she constantly have to mess with him? Did she hold a grudge or something?!?
"I mean like, the scouting right after the Truce is awesome! I hope I can get a mission, desk work is BOOORRRRINNNG." Slurp, slurp.
Five turned his head towards the loud girl-reluctantly acknowledging her existence-and stared at awe at the cola drink in her hand.
"...Eight. I doubt you'll get a mission soon. What about that other one you had just a few months ago? You picked an unsuited team and-"
"That mission went wonderfully!"
"EVERYONE DIED." Thomas finished, ignoring Eight's interruption. "Except you...But didn't you spend a few days in the mainland hospital?"
Eight made a face. "I was tired! And they have the best beds...And food..." She trailed off for a few seconds, growing dreamy-eyed and distracted. (She might have also started drooling.)
Thomas took this as a green light to quietly sneak away as fast as possible.

The kid; 306494, swept both his emerald eyes and his mind across the room, not hovering on one face more than a second.
'They think we've been infiltrated?'
'Of course they'd start with the Eighth- if the enemy had spies in our division...'
'Oh, gosh, he's reading my mind? I haven't done anything...!'
Once finished, his gaze returned back to the center, Two; the most powerful, the one whose mind he could not read.
306494 didn't quite know what to make of his superior; with dark unfathomable eyes and barriers smooth as silk yet hard as granite. Tone so suave yet somehow mocking. Face so cold and unemotional. Deceptive was the word. Did he admire him? Or dislike him? That was the thing with amnesia; he didn't know how he'd reacted in the past, and so he didn't know how he was supposed to act now.
Two had already quitted the room and was waiting when he came to. Hurridly, he followed.

Though he wasn't sure if it was combat fatigue or the fact he'd skipped breakfast because of the whole "cauliflower muffins" thing, Zach found himself loitering in the cafeteria, waiting for testing to finish.
It wasn't going to be anytime soon too, he was sure of that, for when he had finished, they were less than half of the way through.
Zach swirled his fork in the mush on his tray, not even interested in eating, but just wanting to waste time.
...What?
He lifted his head, immidentily scanning the room throughly.
'What was that?' Zach asked himself, completely bewildered. He was sure he felt as if...he was about to be in for trouble.
But now...Checking again, he was sure that he was in no such trouble.
Even though, it still made Zach feel a bit uneasy...His power hardly ever makes such mistakes.

"Last one, then you may have a break," his superior informed him, without looking back.
A break? For him? 306494 didn't understand. What for?
The question was left to simmer in his mind as Two unlocked with a touch some room and entered, evidently expecting him to follow.
A girl, the sole resident, lay curled up in a ball upon the bed. Her eyes were red and shadowed. She had been crying? She didn't look up.
Two's face did not betray any emotion as he looked at her, either. He merely repeated what he'd said everywhere else.
With the same air of disinterest, he did as he'd done everywhere else, invade her mind. But this time, he found it. What they were looking for.
'Looking for spies. Like me. They know.' Her mental voice sounded tired, defeatist.
As quickly as he had entered, 306494 withdrew.
Those emerald eyes blinked, and then he slowly gave the signal.

The cafeteria was abuzz with thoughts, some hidden, some making him wish there was a way to mentally clap his hands over his ears. 306494 couldn't NOT hear thoughts, not unless the were all closed up, barracaded from the likes of him. Still, it was a distraction, one he needed. Forgetting to sit, he lingered absently around some of the more empty tables.
A horrified thought caught his attention. 'They know they're infiltrated? Mind-reader?!' they belonged to some silver-haired girl. 'Oh, god, what was I thinking! Barriers!' her mind shoved him out, now clad in iron, impenetrable.
306494 returned to himself, thoughtful.

'If I feel like I'm going to vomit, I'll leave. If I feel like I'm going to vomit, I'll leave, If I feel like I going to vomit,....'
While they probably weren't the best words of encouragement ever thought, somehow they made Annabell feel much better as she aimlessly wandered around the stands in the arena, looking for a place to sit.
"Why am I even doing this to myself?" the girl sighed, finally spotting an open seat.
The answer came back to her almost immidentily:
You will survive only if you can adapt to your situation.
'If I have to adapt to a place that thinks killing the some of the strongest is a stragitic choice, I don't think I WANT to adapt.' Annabell grumpily thought to herself, slouching in her seat.
Wait...Was she sitting on something?
After pulling a small folder out from under her bottom, she quickly emptied it's contents to examine them.
It wasn't anything amazing, in fact, Annabell was almost positive it wasn't ANYTHING. Most of the papers were filled random scribbles and doodles, each more different than the others than the last, as if some kid with EXTREME ADHD and a five second memory had a field day with a bunch of notebook paper.
The only piece of paper that seemed READABLE was one that had nothing but the numbers 1-9 and their Roman counterparts parallel to each other, with notes, arrows, and symbols of all kinds scribbled everywhere, over lapping and making a lot of the the things written unreadable.

Where is she?? Pale eyes swept the room, growing ever more anxious. Nevarda had to show up some time. It was the cafeteria, for crying out loud. She had to eat... Right? Everyone knew fasting was a stupid, painful, LONG way of killing themselves... Had she ran for it? Been given a mission? Surely if any of these had happened, Stella would have heard of it by now... She glowered as she double-checked every face in the room, once, twice. Time was ticking, and Stella had a mindreading-spy-detecter on the loose...
She froze.
What if... Nevarda had been caught?
Stella felt as if she had just been dosed with icy water. They'd torture Nevarda until she told them everything she knew... (Or worse, she'd tell willingly... Even though it would kill her quicker... She'd heard the torturer here was good~ uh, BAD. The most loyal begged for death in mere minutes. Nevarda couldn't stand a chance). And Nevarda knew a lot.

@Asi
Actually, yeah. o.o
"My Winter Memory"(Rough translation title) Coming out in English this Fall! 😃
~~~
"GASPIES!" the voice was so loud and high pitched, it made Annabell flinch, not to mention it came from right behind her ear.
"You're...You're reading the only page that contains all of the Falchion's most precious, dangerous secrets!" A girl with a purple bob haircut loudly gasped behind her. "This means....I have to kill you now."
Annabell had been trained for lots of things, but none of these ever involved with how to react to crazy people. So, instead, she just stared.
"I mean, like, has no one ever taught you not to go looking through stuff you find laying around? It's rude!" Eight turned to frown at Annabell but suddenly paused, and started staring straight into Annabell's eyes.
There was a small second of silence between them, which was quickly broken by a cry of, "YOU HAVE BLONDE HAIR, I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!" Which was, in fact, so loud that people all over the base could hear it echoing.
"Hehehe, I might still have-hehe-to kill you though-hehehe!" Eight seemed to now be giggling uncontrolably.
It could go unsaid, but Annabell was EXTREMELY freaked out.
-Continuation-
"So, you're reading about all of the Numbers, right? Why? What's so important about Numbers? All of them are jerks, believe me." Eight giggled loudly on the last setence, sliding into the empty seat next to Annabell and prying the folder out of her hands.
Eight started to flip through the pages of scribbles, chatting randomly about how she "remembers writing that" or how she "forgot that happened before".
Annabell's mind slowly started to recover for the shock, like dusty machine gears starting to spin again, and she finally managed to work out: "...You're...Eight, right?"
"-So last year, I covinced them to play, "Baby" as soon as someone died, but this year I think I can get the tech people to belt out "Call Me Maybe" as soon as the first person gets decapitated!"
Eight seemingly didn't notice Annabell's question, and continued to chat about the Truce matches that were coming up, obviously excited for the battles.
*I FORGOT TO POST THIS O_O*
...
306494's amazing XD
I'm also amazing that I now know that number off by heart o.o
Keep going! 😊
"Excuse me," 306494 drifted across the cafeteria to tap the girl on the shoulder hesitantly. Two'd said he could take a break, but...
She turned around, opened her mouth to speak, and stared. And kept staring.
A little disconcerted by her looking at him like he'd grown antlers,?he felt his face growing hot. No one ever looked at him. Not really. True, he'd been following Two around, and before that merely kept to the shadows of Third Division. Two didn't really look at him either.
Before either could speak, a figure flashed into being at his side. The face was expressionless as they announced, "You're wanted." It was an order. Without further ado, they took his hand.
"Wait!" the girl reached out to grab his arm, but he was already gone.
"... Never thought I'd miss Three," Two was muttering as he leaned on the rail, glowering at a small tub of frozen yogurt, opened but the contents untouched, except for being less frozen.
"You should eat that- or SOMETHING," the girl at his side (hair in a tight bun, face clear and serious, skirt business-like yet short, and high-heels vastly improving her height; self-possessing, brisk air, and her thoughts carefully concealed), said reprovingly, not commenting on his earlier statements, whether they were directed at her or not. "What do you live on, smoke?" 306494 couldn't believe how she addressed him.
"Not hungry," he handed it to her, on taking notice of 306494's arrival. "Gene... You look after the desk," he instructed her, turning away. "Then get in some practice," Two added as an afterthought.
"I hardly think I need reminding." She was reproachful, evidently used to being to reminder, not the remindee.
He nodded slightly, and "Gene" made her exit.
