The Queen cocked her head to the side, mimicking the messenger's actions. Sealing herself inside her "prey's" shadow wasn't such a bad idea at all, no. Quite useful in the long term. She learned so much by watching from her servant's shadow. And now, she knew how to act like her servant.
Now, where was that other girl?... Would she be fooled by the wolf in a lamb's clothing?

I hurdled the gate, patted a few of the horses and gave my favorite, Clairvoyant, a carrot, before returning to my room and sitting on my bed, looking at the stars through the window. Where was J.J. now? I wondered. What is he doing?

The Queen looked up and saw the sky darkening. Ahhh. Of course. Where else would she be?
A malevolent smile spread across her face, nearly turning into a glasgow smile. Now, all she needed to hope for was that the boy wouldn't interfere again...

The young man pulled out the keys of his workshop and glanced over his shoulder. Seeing that no one was there, he opened the door and quickly entered. Lighting a candle, he wathed as the warm light began illuminating the room and all the ripped dolls, broken marionettes, and whatnot that sat upon the shelves.
He pulled out the newest one and placed it on the last remaining cubbyhole beside a royal looking one, it's clothing marked with a bright red heart.
A sigh.
The Queen was on a rampage now. Thes dolls couldn't be reverted back to humans, no, but the Queen could be dealt with. Though no one would probably believe him of all people.

The Queen sprinted down the cobblestone streets. A left, then a right, down the old Main street.

I wrenched my covers off me, looking around in panic. What was it? Was someone trying to break in? My hair was in knots already.

The Queen peered through the window as she heard quiet rustling noises within the room.
She froze. It sounded like someone was coming? Who in their mind would be out right now?
"It's me, Jacqueline?"

I decided to have a look around the house, just to check on everything. It was rather frightening at night, so I light a candle and tiptoed along the hallway, jumping at any movement.

Ah. She left the room.
The Queen stood quietly, waiting. She glanced down at her new body and straightened out the messenger bag and the slightly messy clothing.
She wan't totally used to this new one yet, but she had years of experience.
"Mia." the Queen called out again, quietly as she hoped the noise from earlier wasn't really a person.

The kitchen, dining room, the hall, the coat room, the lounge, and the bathrooms were all empty. That's what you get for freaking out about nothing, I told myself, then hesitated. What if someone was stealing horses?

She picked up a tiny pebble and threw it at the window.

Nothing in the stables either. I was growing irritated with myself. What did I expect? Sourly I stomped back to my room and pulled the covers over my head, resolving not to leave until morning, no matter what stupid noises my head fools me into believing.

What was that? I ran my hand through my hair, exasperated and scared at the same time, somehow. I am NOT getting up. I am NOT going to freak out. I AM going to get a good night's sleep and everything will be normal in the morning, I told myself sternly. Hypnotism usually works well.

There was a quiet murmur behind the Queen. She turned around expecting someone, but no one was there. Instead, the mark of the Joker was on the ground.
"HIM." She was fuming.
The Queen entered the building and shouted as loud as she could, ignoring the neighbors, "Mia! Hey, come have a look at this~~!"

The young man glanced at the clock as the towerbell rang. Nearly half an hour off, strangely.
"Huh. What's up with that?"
He pulled his cloak over his shoulder and stepped out the door. He felt for his card, nodded and quietly went on his way.
"What in the world is that lady up to?"
