Ceren approached Eragon and twisted his hand over his chest in traditional elven greeting. After exchanging the necessary words and a meaningful nod, he and Kvaya made their way over to the ships. "Please begin to board!" he called out, once in the human tongue and once in the Ancient Language. "We shall be leaving soon. Please board the boats!"

Kyle flew overhead with Fear, and Kyle sent a bolt of black lightning towards the ship. Fear blew an endless stream of fire, and Kyle let loose a long string of the words of death in the ancient language.

Sylvia hugged Joseph from behind. "What do i do now? Can you drop me off next to Ceren? I need to say some things."

As soon as Ceren glimpsed the first flash of lightning, he whirled to face the foreign dragon and thrust his open palm out toward it. "Atra nosu waise skoliro!*" he bellowed, drawing energy both from himself and from Kvaya in anticipation of the draining spell. A silvery barrier shimmered into existence over the ship, rippling like a velvet curtain. The black lightning struck its surface and halted, crackling out of existence. The fire, too, could not surpass the wall; nor could the death spells slay any of the riders, young or old. "Eragon!" Ceren cried out, staggering as he did. An astounding amount of energy had been sapped from him already; he doubted he could do the same another time. Still, if his spell had drained him so, the dragonborne spellcaster had to have been considerably weakened as well.

*Let us be shielded!

Kyle hissed as Ceren made a shield around the ship and riders. He rose his evil riders sword and a ball of energy shot towards the shield.

As all hell broke lose, Sylvia waiyed patiently for Crimson to land.

With a bolster of energy from Eragon and Saphira, Ceren had no trouble maintaining the shield as another ball of energy struck it. It dissipated with a hiss similar to water as it hits a hot surface. "Get onto the ship!" Ceren ordered yet again, his voice colder this time. Once everyone was securely on board, he planned to allow someone else to maintain the spell while he and perhaps another few riders flew up to combat the attackers head-to-head.

The barrier, silvery in sheen, lay like a dome over the set of ships. Ceren's intentions made it impassible to anyone of malevolent nature, human, elf, dragon or otherwise.

Nehlil headed off quickly after Andrew left. She climbed onto Evarina and then headed back towards the Beor Mountains. When she landed, Orik as waiting for her, his expression was dark and his eyes seemed clouded over.
"Is everything alright?" She asked cautiously. He smiled tensely, his shoulders hunched over, "Not particularly."
Nehlil stiffened, hoping to avoid the bad news. She raised an eyebrow inquisitively, prompting him to go on.
"I heard that you need to go to the island where Eragon is." Orik told her, it wasn't a question, or even news.

Kyle held on tight, for a hard maneuver to break the shield. Fear dove head on at the shield, hitting it with a hge collision, shaking everything.

Ceren's stoic expression flashed to a snarl as the dark purple dragon collided with his barrier. Eragon and Saphira held true, however, and the barrier remained. Wrath burned within Kvaya's eyes, but her patient nature prevailed, and she remained by her rider's side. "We have to go," the elf called out to Eragon.

@bunnyshadow I'm going to be slightly mysterious now. XD

The dragon's teeth skated off the smooth, dome shaped barrier. Its curved edges would have prevented such a large creature from standing upon it without sliding. A determined expression on his face, Ceren took a step forward, his arm still extended. The barrier moved with him, forcing the dragon and rider farther away from the boat.

Ceren's eyes immediately flooded with tears as a gargantuan force struck the barrier, piercing it like a pike through armor. The force hooked upon its gap and jerked downward, rending a massive tear in the barrier. The silvery, translucent sheen rippled like water away from the tear. Ceren found himself resisting, clenching his teeth as he fought to weave together the gap; however, the titanic entity seemed to grab at its edges and pull, ripping the barrier as if it was a piece of cloth. Ceren felt his breath hitch in his chest, and his consciousness flutter away from him. The elf struck the wooden deck of the boat with a sound thud.

EDIT: @fluffy Sylvia has run away from Eragon and his followers, siding with Joseph and the new Forsworn. Joseph's group is attacking the ships that the riders are using to leave. The riders of Eragon are gathered on the ship, waiting to leave. The attack is led by Kyle and his dragon, Fear. Ceren the elven rider has managed to hold up a magic barrier against them, until something with greater power than Kyle manages to rip it to shreds. X3
