"Add, attention span of a flea to list of problems," Ray muttered to himself under his breath. If Margot insisted on keeping this pet around, well, someone'd get hurt. Or he'd leave. But not before he got to Stark tower. That was all that mattered, and Ray wasn't going to let some annoying leech get in the way of his destiny. That's what Stark tower had, he now knew. It held all the answers, all the answers to his questions.

Fang narrowed his eyes at Ray. Then he turned towards Margot. "Which way? We have to leave, they'll be here soon," he said rather blandly, but also urgently. He turned towards Frost. "Do you know where Stark Tower is?" he asked her. He stretched and yawned, then cracked his neck.

Margot shot them an icy glare, which was entirely pointless due to the reflective goggles that covered her eyes. However, her mouth formed a visible scowl, and she raised a finger to her lips to try and get them to be quiet. "I know it's in the commercial district," she murmured softly. "Once we're out of here, I can climb a building and get a better look. Until then, everybody follow me, and stay close."

The city had gone still in anticipation of dawn. The sky was dark without stars nor sun, and the shadows that littered the road were difficult to distinguish from true obstacles. Margot moved as quickly as she could while staying quiet, simultaneously searching for any living creatures and picking a path through the debris.

Fang followed Margot, and watched as she picked through debris and other fallen objects. He stepped straight through an fallen piece of wall, to lazy to walk around it. Fang decided to stay quiet for the rest of the trip, unles spoken to first. It was rather quiet outside, and Fang figured they would discover Lake's body soon. Suddenly, he stopped walking and an stray pebble cracked against the ground. "Lake," Fang said to no one. "They might see his body."

Frost said sarcastically in a low voice, "And you've only realized now?" She had ignored him in the last question, but this one was sort of obvious. Then, in a more serious tone, she said, "Its too late for that. If there are reallly people coming after us, they will already know we're here. They're not idiots, you know. They'll look for buildings that seem stable and safe, which, this one is." She fell silent as they kept walking. She was used to hunting other animals and people, so walking quietly? No problem. "The crows will get to him. No one can get rid of the stench anyways." she said finally.

"I suppose so," Fang said quietly. He glanced over at Frost, and made sure that she wasn't looking at him. Then he walked through an lamp post out of boredom. A small smile twitched at his lips when he remembered how he discovered his powers. Running into a wall, and going straight through.

Dead bodies don't start smelling too quickly... Ray wondered how long they were talking about here, but didn't fancy inquiring. 'Hey, you guys know a cadaver? Cooooll,' wasn't exactly the type of guy he was going for. As he walked, still sticking behind Margot like that old chewing gum on the undersides of tables that just wouldn't come off, and no one wanted to try anyway, he looked around anxiously, almost paranoid. He thought he'd be happier when they were on the move, but he'd thought wrong.

Fang waited until Ray was looking at him, then flashed him an rather evil vampire smile. Fang was looking at Ray, and not in front of him, and in front of him was a wall. It seemed that Fang was about to crash into the wall, but the boy turned around just in time to see it, and walk right through it. "Whoops." Fang thought to himself. He wondered if anyone else saw, and if they were creeped out.

Frost looked from the corner of her sight. Fan-forget it, he's Vampy, she thought-flashed Ray a smile nearly worthy of Loki. Creepy, she thought. What was even more strange was that when he was about to go hit a wall, he went right through. She stopped observing and kept that image to herself. There would be time to confront him.

'Oh, yeah, just walk through that wall. Sure, sure, I walked right through the Great Pyramid of Giza last week, the solid part, no sweat,' Ray figured it would be best to pretend he had never noticed Vampy's little antics, as he had no idea how to respond. What do you say when someone just awkwardly phases through solid wall? Nothing, you just hope like heck it was some kind of trick of the light until you actually start believing it. Ray wished he could walk through walls; or preferably, be invisible. Then people would just leave him alone. Running one dirty hand through his already messy dark hair; had it always been so black?, Ray sighed audibly. When had his life got so insane? His hair fell back in front of his ice blue eyes, which he closed and tilted his head backwards slightly, as if he could feel the wind on his face. Suddenly he felt so very, very tired. He didn't suppose there was any coffee around.

(Almost called Fang Vampy D8) Fang looked at Ray with an weird expression. He examined the boy like a wolf a deer... Then, he gave Ray another curious look and yawned, before turning to Frost. Frost seemed to be a bit mentally disturbed, Nd Fang shrugged it off withought another thought. Suxdenly Fang spotted something on the ground.

He picked it up, and found that it was a packet of instant coffee. XD

@Bunnyshadow ... *HEADDESK*

Ray smelled the thing before he saw it. Unfortunately, Vampy had got his dirty little paws all over it before he could have so much as blinked. Still, it wasn't much of a dilemma; coffee was ALwAYS worth it. "Gimme that," Ray said suddenly, reaching out to snatch it from Vampy's grip fast as lightning flashes.

Fang eyed the packet weirdly, and tossed it at Ray as he made a wild grab for it. "Calm down." he muttered under his breathe. "It's just some [yeep] coffee." Fang sighed audibly, wishing that it could have been a can of meat or something. Whatever.

Andrew, hesitating at first, followed Sylvia to the abandoned area. He uncomfortably looked at the uncountable amounts of dead chitauri and shuddered a bit. Frowning deeply, he looked at Sylvia. "Whoever is doing this must be taken out." Andrew said flatly. "This is just awful."

Ray caught it with ease, and was about to stuff it in his bag, when he got that tingly feeling all over. He looked around, confused. Everything felt strange. Like he was missing something important. The coffee packet, for one, felt oddly heavy. On a whim, he ripped it open. Instead of brown coffee powder, it was instead stuffed full of nuts and bolts, which made a sharp, "ting" as a few fell to the ground. Forget coffee!
Of course, Ray thought, closing his eyes. When some areas had still resisted Loki, they'd had weapons and things like nails smuggled through inside coffee packets, among other common products. Carefully, he tried to place the packet in his bag (while scraps were easy to steal, useful amounts of bolts weren't), only to have the contents instantly sucked onto something magnetic. That probably wasn't so good... He shrugged and carelessly littered the empty coffee bag.

Frost heard the noise of something metal dropping. She turned around and saw that Ray's bag of coffee was filled with nails instead of coffee. She shrugged and turned back. Strangely, it was kind of awkward, with all the silence. Frost had a lot of things on her mind though. There was Vampy and his evil smile, Ray and his coffee obsession, and did Vampy really run through the walls? There was also Sylvia and Loki's army. Too many things..she sighed and trudged on.

Andrew protectively stepped closer when the noises grew louder then quieter. "Probably... but it would have to be a large group of them to be able to do this much damage to so many chitauris in a short time." He whispered quietly, then inhaled quickly. Mulling over her question of to follow them for a few seconds, his brow was drawn together and tense.
Finally, he looked at Sylvia and said, "Only if you're up for it."

Pyra walked over to the second trap. A gray rabbit squealed in it. Looking at its appearance, it had been there for maybe 5 hours. She threw a sharpened stick at it. It screamed as the stick raked against its tail. It panicked and tried to run again. She growled and threw a large stone. It fell unconscious. She grinned and unlocked it from the trap. She threw it fiercely on the ground. It lay there. Dead. A crude way to kill, but there wasn't another way.
Pyra walked over to the lump of gray fur. She took off her gloves and grabbed the rabbit in both hands. The fur began to smolder. She took one half off and grabbed the gloves, then put it in between her arm and body. She continued cooking the rabbit as she walked back to the river.

Margot shot the lot of them an icy glare. Some of the effect was lost through the reflective surface of her goggles, but the intensity still came through. "Quiet," she snapped. What would it take for them to realize that they were vulnerable out on the streets? It was like they didn't have any common sense. "Just stay close," she whispered, continuing on as straight a path as she could manage through the dark street.

Then, she saw something quite odd--Fang appeared to step directly through a solid stone wall. She blinked, and thought to rub her eyes, which she quickly realized wouldn't work. There was time later to ask about it, though. They were running out of time.

It only took a few minutes of wandering through the back streets before they found themselves at a large intersection. Margot lifted her goggles, glancing around at the buildings in search of a landmark she could use to navigate. The sun was beginning to rise, staining the bottom of the sky rosy pink. Spotting some familiar-looking buildings to their left, Margot waved the group forward into another section of the business district. Once they put enough distance between themselves and the building, she could really get a look around, but for now it would have to do.

Up ahead, she spotted an odd patch of bright colors, a signal of high thermal readings. Margot signaled for the group to stop as she examined the situation more carefully. Though it was some distance away, she noted two patches of bright white light--extremely intense heat. The patterns surrounding those two points looked like a person . . . if their hands happened to be on fire. The figure was alone, and therefore no great threat. Margot took a moment to switch on her electric gloves before calling out to the person with a sharp "Psst!"

"I told you!" she said to Andrew as she crossed her arms. "I'm up for it, but are we going to kill or capture?" she asked curiously. Sylvia heard sounds that seemed to be coming from somewhere else, echoing around the empty street. A breeze swept down the street, and Sylvia shivered.

Fang was only half listening as Margot snapped at them to be quiet. He finally looked up when he sensed another person around. A girl. Fang raised an eyebrow at Margot as she switched on her gloves and called at the girl for attention.

Pyra's head shot up from the rabbit. What was that? She looked to the noise. She couldn't see anything yet. Of course not, but she obviously knew she was here. Most likely. She put the rabbit and her gloves on the ground. She walked forward and carefully swatted away a branch with her arm. Maybe leaving her gloves wasn't a good idea... It was still dark, with shadows everywhere, but she could see one person, definitely older than her, and a group behind her. She had some weird gloves and goggles.
Pyra didn't say anything, but she felt like it. Her hands clasped together in front of her in case something accidentally set fire.

"Pyra." Fang said suddenly after a long silence. His powers told him that was her name. He eyed the rabbit that was set down by her feet and took a few steps closer. Upon closer inspection, Fang noticed that the rabbit was already cooked. Fang rubbed the back of his neck, then asked, almost hopefully: "Do you have some more meat? Uncooked perhaps?"

Frost scoffed. They were all hungry, but food at a time like this? "If you wanted food, you should have found a place where small game lived,"she said out loud, although not as loud as a normal talking voice. She then said to the others, "Let's go." Without looking at Pyra-how did Va-Fang know?-she asked her, "What in the world are doing here? You should know its not wise to be outside." Many thoughts bubbled Frost as she waited for a reply.

"Pyra." He knew her name? Nobody knew it. The only people who did died. A long time ago.
"Do you have some more meat? Uncooked perhaps?" This was interesting. Uncooked? Weird guy. He already looked weird in the weak light. Creepy, actually.
Her tension was somewhat loosening. They weren't chitauri. Unless chitauri figured out a way to-no, they're real humans. Or mutants, or whatever.
Another person spoke. "What in the world are doing here? You should know its not wise to be outside." This surprised her too. She smiled inside.
"No. You should know its not wise to be outside yourself." Well, she wasn't being killed. That's nice.

Frost replied, "It's too late for me." It was true, after all. Her fate was sealed. A hint of sadness touched her voice. If that Loki hadn't come..her life would be peaceful, extravagant, even. She started walking away, then turned back and tipped her head. "You don't seem like someone who's bad. What are you doing alone?" Frost maintained a low, even melodic voice.

Fang never got an reply, he didn't like being ignored. He pushed his bangs out if his eyes so he could give Pyra a good look of his blood red eyes, and so that he could get a good look of Pyra. Then, he smiled at Pyra after letting his hair fall back onto his face and covering his eyes. It wasn't a nice smile, nor was it a happy smile.

It was an rather malicious smile, an smile worthy of Emperor Loki himself.

Frost rolled her eyes. "Fang..."she said in a warning tone. She didn't want anymore dead bodies lying around. Frost could tell that he was upset about being ignored, but if the solution was to kill everyone, then they would be caught quickly. He had another evil smile. Frost sighed and asked impatiently, "Well?"
