"You're late. Your dinner's cold. And you're doing the dishes," she threw the dirty worn cloth they used to clean things at Ray's face. Clearly, Mel isn't quite as fond of coffee as the rest of the family.Ray thought better of pointing out that dinner was ALWAYS cold and obeyed the dictator.About twenty minutes later, he was just shoveling down the last of the icky porridge-like cement-coloured sludge that was the usual when Mel stuck her head round again. "Shouldn't Sam be back already with the water?" she complained. The spoon slipped out of his hand and landed on the plate with a clatter. "He must've found something good... Coffee!" Ray joked."This is serious!" she hissed. "What if the Chitauri got him... Or worse?!""What do you want me to do?" he asked, slightly annoyed. He was worried about his friend too, but urgg, he didn't want to have to go out there again... It was cold, and dark, and besides, it wasn't going to be the Chitauri... Really, he told himself."Go find him!" Mel commanded, fixing him with her fierce cold glare... Yeah, it was probably warmer outside.Ray sighed and retreated to the sanctuary the fresh air offered. Sam couldn't have gone too far; fortunately it was only a short walk to the water supply. He eyed the high surrounding buildings cautiously before daring to progress.

@leafpeltMargot rolled her eyes exaggeratedly, and straightened up from her fighting stance. She rose to her full height now, but despite the relaxed posture of her arms, she kept her eyes carefully trained on the girl. If she'd had any doubts before about the threatening nature of her stalker, they were gone now. Everything about this girl seemed juvenile and puerile, from her half-angry pout to her snippy comment about being talented for her age (was that meant to be threatening?). Margot then let out a sigh and shook her head. "Generally," she lectured caustically, "we don't stalk people whom we merely want to ask a question. It's very impolite." One sharp step forward punctuated this statement. "And what would happen for you if I was with Loki, hm? Some secret agent, designed specifically to keep roamers and rebels off the streets? I'd be specially trained to fight with minimalist weapons--so it's not obvious, so it can lull kids like you into a sense of safety." Just slightly, she shifted the screwdriver in her hand. "I would take you down, drag you back in for questioning, and then the leader of your work unit MIGHT get your body back. Now," she snapped, "tell me what you want."

Pyra lay staring out of the leafy branches of the tree. The fading sunlight streaked the sky with beautiful colors. One of the only beautiful things left, she thought. Life in the town sickened her. She tossed her short hair out of her face, and leapt down from the tree. Her legs bent to silence the noise. She grabbed a strong, medium-sized branch, and walked farther into the woods. She stopped at a large weeping willow. The long falling branches brushed against her face as she walked through the outside and next to the base. They were the reason she chose this tree. She got up to the large split of the main branches and jumped her way to the higher split. The willow was large enough to have the larger split, and let it hold her weight, but probably not for long. She added the stick to her platform. The platform was what had allowed her to continue to stay up here. When she was slightly younger, it would be fine without any swaying, but now... Better safe then sorry. She looked around at her items on the platform again. There was the broken jar of ink, some berries, a slab of meat, a piece of paper, a small brush made by herself, a small blanket, and the large stick she used for fighting. Everything was there. She looked down at the hard dirt. No tracks. Good. She had trained herself to not make tracks. She sat there for a while, simply listening to the quiet woods, then curled on the platform with the blanket and fell asleep.

It was as if the guy had simply up and vanished without a trace. Ray walked all the way to the water source and back, looking high and low. No signs of commotion or struggle. No signs of Sam.The streets were silent, eeriely so, making him jumpy, like Loki's spies could be hiding under every rock. He quietly laughed a little at that. It's not like he was doing anything wrong... The curfew was stupid anyway. He frowned. Things around here, they needed to change. Slavery wasn't cool. The fact that he was kidnapped~ TWICE and they got away with it wasn't cool. The crime rate in Manhattan was just deplorable. But then, it wasn't like Ray would be caught dead doing anything to change it. Too much effort, he thought lazily, stifling a tired yawn. Now, if he could just find his lousy friend...He abandoned the openness of the main street and stepped off into a dark alleyway to one side, making sure to keep everything from the sound of his soft footsteps to the beating of his heart at minimum.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 6:36 PM
@silver_wingedFrost cursed silently. Why bother following this girl anyways? She was smart-mouthing."You said generally people don't stalk for a question. Yes, and no. I'm asking if you were one of Loki's or not. Normally, I wouldn't have to stalk, but this isn't general times," I replied slowly."If you can see, this isn't everyday life anymore. Generally and normal don't exist. Times call for desperate measures." Frost didn't know why she was talking so much, but she sensed that this girl was like her: running away and always hiding. However, if it really came to it, Frost would have to use her secret weapon...She was about to continue, when someone, or something started moving towards them. Oh no, Frost cursed silently.

@leafpelt @asiMargot rolled her eyes again before she could stop herself. She did, however, manage to restrain a few nasty comments that would have followed. Margot didn't have any memories of the world before the fall of the Avengers, and she had to be at least three or four years older."I have no idea what you're talking about," she snapped coldly. "Stop me if I'm wrong, but for me and for you, this IS everyday life."A shift in the shadows of the alleyway had Margot whirling around, pointing the tip of her screwdriver in the direction of the figure who now blocked the exit. She held her battle stance for a moment, clenching her teeth, as she stared forward at the mystery person. Something about their posture seemed oddly familiar . . ."Jesus, Ray," she sighed after a moment, straightening up for the second time. She and Ray worked at the factory together. They hadn't talked too much, but they were certainly familiar enough with each other. "What the hell are you doing out here?" Her eyes darted back to the girl, who was once more the most imminent threat.

@leafpelt @meixiaotian @silver_winged @asi @lola622f~~~When Sylvia woke up, it was still dark outside. The long branches of the willow tree was almost brushing against the ground. The soft green leaves flowed about the brown branches. Upon closer inspection, Sylvia saw that they were slightly charred and yellow. She sat forward and pulled herself up into a standing position with a slight yawn. "I must have dozed off for awhile...", she muttered to herself. Without another word, she started towards the streets again. Voices were nearby, coming from the nearby abandoned building.Sylvia quickened her pace, but kept to the shadows. She muffled her footsteps by stepping slowly with her heels contacting the ground first. A girl and a young women seemed to be arguing. She kept her back to the side of the building and pulled her sword halfway out of it's sheath. It made a slight slithering sound that broke the quiet silence after the smaller girl spoke. Another figure appeared at the entrance of the alleyway. A shift of pale moonlight showed that it was a boy. His name was Ray, as confirmed by the woman.
asi • 8 June 2012 at 7:26 PM
"Ahaha... Nothing," Ray laughed a little nervously, inwardly sighing at the stupidity of his automatic reply. He stepped out of the shadows and glanced at the standoff he had inadvertently just interrupted. What was Margot gonna do with that screwdriver, poke the little girl's eyes out? She'd pointed it at him like it was some kind of weapon... Women."Actually, I'm looking for someone," he clarified eventually in a tone that said something like, 'Whoops, well, this is awkward... I'll just be on my way, heh.'
bunnyshadow • 8 June 2012 at 7:36 PM
@asi @silver_winged @jupiter_hollow~~~Sylvia shuffled in her position, listening in on the conversation. She'd catch hell if she didn't do something about this. By now, she'd slowly pulled the rest of the sword out of it's sheath. Still, she stayed in the shadows to keep hidden. Sylvia took a few small steps closer with the black sword held out in front of her in an attack position. She was close to the corner of the alleyway, and she'll attack and hopefully kill the next person that came out. That'll teach them to run out and meet up at night.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 7:52 PM
@asi @silver_winged @bunnyshadowFrost started to ask, " What's going on?"when she heard shuffling. Her eyes darted around, adjusting to the gloom. She slowly signaled Ray and the girl to be quiet. "Take out your weapons," she whispered, and Frost transformed her clip into a dagger. You guys went fast..
silver_winged • 8 June 2012 at 7:57 PM
@asi @bunnyshadow @jupiter_hollow Edited, sorry.Margot raised an eyebrow in Ray's direction, her expression unamused. It would be just like him to take a pleasant walk through the city at night for no reason at all--he seemed like that at work, aimless and easily distracted. However, as he finally stated his business, she responded with a slight nod. "Well," she responded rather condescendingly, "there's nobody back here." She allowed this to linger for a moment before adding, "I haven't seen anyone but this kid, and one of Loki's thugs, all night. Who're you looking for?"Slowly, she cast one final glare in the girl's direction before she began to replace the screwdriver in her satchel. It didn't seem that a fight was at hand, and if she tried anything stupid--well, Margot still had her electric gloves to protect herself. Then, the girl made a very serious comment. Rather than take a risk and brush her off, Margot hastily tied her satchel shut and then silently activated her gloves. They hummed gently, a sound that tended to blend into the ringing sound one's ears produced in silence.
bunnyshadow • 8 June 2012 at 8:01 PM
@leafpelt @silver_winged~~~Sylvia stepped out of her hiding place and smiled so sweetly, it seemed to be fileld with venom itself. Sweet yet bitter. She took a step closer to the group, holding the sword out into an attacking position. "What are you weak little humans doing here so late at night?', she questioned. She said the word 'Human' as if it were 'Garbage'.
asi • 8 June 2012 at 8:10 PM
"Erm-" Ray had been about to answer when the unknown girl suddenly went all creepy. "Sorry?" he asked, bemused. He could have sworn she'd just said WEAPONS. Plural? Ray didn't have so much as a stick. His eyes widened when the girl produced a dagger. Could one of Loki's men be nearby? Or... He found himself backed up against a wall without consciously moving his feet. Crud.Well, it wasn't a MAN, that's for sure. He just stared at her, unsure of how to answer, barely processing the words.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 8:11 PM
@silver_winged @bunnyshadow @asiFrost narrowed her eyes. Loki's daughter. A demigod. She had a sickly sweet attitude and it was disgusting.Frost decided to talk. "Aren't you afraid to be caught too?" she asked innocently, while changing the dagger to a bow and arrow. Please work, elemental powers. Don't fail me now, she thought.Behind her, she saw the girl take out something..electric and braced for attack.
bunnyshadow • 8 June 2012 at 8:15 PM
@leafpelt @asi~~~"Caught doing what?", she said sarcastically. "Doing night shift guarding?", she continued. Sylvia advanced towards Ray with her sword still in her hand. Soon, she was right in front of him. Dropping the sword to the ground with a loud clatter, she reached out her hands and wrapped them around Ray's neck. "Tell me.", she hissed. (Sorry if it's a bit Godmod ^-^" I can edit it if you like 😉)
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 8:20 PM
@bunnyshadowO.O what's god mod?Frost kept her innocent act to buy some time. " I don't know...being caught by them."Suddenly, Sylvia wrapped her arms around Ray's neck. That was a little surprising, Frost thought. But why aren't they doing anything?Frost bit her lip. This is turning ugly, she thought.@silver_winged @asi
asi • 8 June 2012 at 8:21 PM
@Bunnyshadow (All good ^w^)"Nothing!" Ray choked out, caught by surprise. Well, this was just great. His eyes flickered to the other two girls. The newcomer had been foolish enough to drop her weapon. They could grab it and it would be two against one unarmed-unless she had more, which was very very likely, being Loki's, but hey, her hands were full. He'd probably die, but he didn't suppose they were overly concerned.
bunnyshadow • 8 June 2012 at 8:25 PM
@asi~~~'Liar!" She hissed through grit teeth. "Even an idiot could tell you were with these 2. You should know better then to wander around during nightfall." Her words were cold as ice as she tightened her grip. "Tell me the truth..." She trailed off threateningly. "Now!"She leaned in closer to him, her face only a inch or so away from his.
asi • 8 June 2012 at 8:34 PM
How was he supposed to reply to that? She had a pretty good point. But tell the truth? It sounded to him like she wanted to hear that they'd been plotting rebellion or some such. She wasn't likely to believe he was just taking an innocent illegal walk looking for a friend who'd also been taking an innocent illegal walk... Crud. No matter how you looked at it, this was pretty bad, especially considering the fact he was being strangled, making it extremely hard to tell her anything. "My bad?" he suggested weakly, as if he could get off with a warning or something.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 8:37 PM
@bunnyshadow @silver_winged @asiThis was depressing. They were stuck with Loki's daughter who had her hands on Ray's throat. They couldn't hold out much longer."So," she said, keeping a safe distance, "Why aren't you afraid?"
silver_winged • 8 June 2012 at 8:43 PM
@asi @leafpelt @bunnyshadow If this is too GM-y I'll change it. X3Margot remained perfectly still as the girl approached, all but for the slight twitching of her fingers. As the servant of Loki dropped her sword, Margot's eyes flitted over to the girl she'd been arguing with earlier. She tilted her head to the side, just barely, in a gesture toward the sword. In that time, the guard had locked her hands around Ray's neck, and the two of them had exchanged a few words. If this goes on much longer, Margot thought with a frown, we'll all be taken in.Then, she did something very risky. She dashed forward, extended her hand, and pressed it against Sylvia's upper chest, where the skin was bare, just as if she was trying to push her away from Ray. However, that simple push contained a shock of over 50,000 volts. It was enough to incapacitate the muscles and nerves of the girl's body, if not knock her out completely. In short, it would buy them all a few minutes to get the hell out of there."Go!" Margot exclaimed, pushing past Sylvia and dashing out into the street. She motioned one more time for one of them to pick up the fallen sword, but made no move to wait for them as she headed back toward her boarding house.
bunnyshadow • 8 June 2012 at 8:47 PM
@silver_winged (It's fine 😊) @asi @leafpelt~~~Sylvia yelped and fell over backward as she took in the shock. It was not enough to make her pass out, but she was unable to move for a short while. When she could stand up again, she could barely keep her footing. She kept a hand on the wall to steady herself.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 8:49 PM
@asi @silver_winged @bunnyshadowIt's fine...Frost glanced at Sylvia. That girl seemed to push her, but instead electrocuted Sylvia instead. Frost saw that this was their chance to leave. At the same time, that girl yelled, "Go!" Frost started running..after the girl, not daring herself to look back.
bunnyshadow • 8 June 2012 at 8:52 PM
@leafpelt~~~When her legs regained their feeling, she silently reached towards her sword. She hefted it up slowly. "You will all die!", she managed to say. Her thoughts were jumbled. How could a mere human girl do this to her? Did she have powers? Something in her hands? When her legs regained feeling, she silently reached towards her fallen sword. Sylvia hefted it slowly before spitting out words like venom."You.. will all.. die!" She managed to say. Her thoughts were jumbled with questions that had no answers. How could a mere human do this to her ?Did she have powers ?Something in her hands ?
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 8:55 PM
@bunnyshadow @silver_winged @asiFrost nearly crashed into the boarding house. The moon was high up in the sky, nearly midnight. Questions popped up in her head."Why did you help me? Weren't you afraid I was one of them?" she blurted out. She tried to regain her composure, but she was tiring out.
asi • 8 June 2012 at 9:05 PM
Freed from the girl's grip, Ray stumbled to one side, then recovered, glancing down at her. How-? Then she grabbed her sword and told them they'd all die, which Ray took as a good cue to leave. He caught up with the kid easily, without breaking a sweat. He didn't say anything, but he was thinking fast. What if the follower of Loki had heard his name earlier? It would be child's play to track him down in the morning, knowing as well what he looked like and everything. Dead dead dead dead I am so dead, he thought, panicking.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 9:13 PM
@bunnyshadow @silver_winged @asiFrost thought that Ray seemed..jumpy? No one had answered her question, so she shrugged and stopped at the home. It seemed that it was the girl's hideout. Frost moaned. She didn't work in the factories. Instead, she was always running in the sewers during the day. But Sylvia was Loki's daughter. They were all marked out for death, maybe by Loki himself.
silver_winged • 8 June 2012 at 9:27 PM
@asi @bunnyshadow @leafpeltMargot faintly heard Sylvia's threat as she barreled down the road, sprinting between and occasionally over cars in her journey back to the slums. The air became thicker as they neared the factories. On the outskirts of the small "town" (her parents had called them Hoovervilles) were the houses of the workers. They were uniform, cramped structures, typically made up of two rooms--one for cooking, eating, talking, and other social business, and the other for sleeping. Bathrooms were community structures, with one placed on each block. Further into the town, the factories rose like godless churches. They were lofty and grey, with sloping roofs and towering steeples, and great barred windows in place of stained glass. The smell of smoke and metal was heavy in her nostrils as Margot slowed to a jog and pulled her goggles back over her eyes. She now carefully searched for guards, which were far more common around the human homes. She finally stopped outside her house, which she shared with a few other of the working women, and noticed that the two others were still following her. The girl had posed a question earlier that seemed worthy of an answer, but it was unwise to talk out in the open. With a begrudging frown, she waved for the girl to follow her inside--and Ray as well, if he so desired.
leafpelt • 8 June 2012 at 9:32 PM
@bunnyshadow @silver_winged @asiStepping inside the home, Frost didn't pay attention to details. Instead, she repeated her question. The girl-Margot, wasn't it? stood there."Why did you help me? Weren't you afraid I was one of them?" Frost turned her bow back into a clip. Hopefully, Sylvia didn't notice its disguise. Not that it would do anything, because the clip always came back to her.
silver_winged • 8 June 2012 at 9:41 PM
@leafpelt My character never introduced herself. c:@asi @bunnyshadowThe house was shrouded in darkness--after curfew, the lights all went out on their own. Though from what was visible of the room, it was largely unfurnished but very neat. A low table sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by cushions for sitting. Margot made her way over to the kitchen area and picked up the tea kettle, shaking it gently to see whether there was any water left in it. Apparently displeased, she placed it back down and went to take a seat at the table."Call it a hunch," she replied finally to Frost. Her tone was low and heavy, presumably to avoid waking up the women in the other room. "Now," she began, leaning back in her seat with her arms spread out behind her for support, "I want you to tell me who you are."
