Ray shook his head slowly, amused at his own disappointment. There had been times- ah, never mind that now. At least he wasn't dripping toxic water and stinking to high heaven (oh, the joys of exaggeration). His eyes paused on the other's soaked clothes and he wondered how safe that water had been to actually swim in. But he really should focus on the short term effects- what were their clothes made of? he pondered. Cotton was supposed to get very cold and heavy when wet. He hoped it wouldn't effect their running; any slowly and he'd start running laps around them just from pure boredom. Humans. He watched the tiger with vague interest. He'd never seen one before. And it was white. Weird. What he really wanted to meet, though, was a cheetah. They were supposed to be fast. But a human couldn't possibly race a cheetah, could they? Ray shrugged. He felt a little like an odd digit that wouldn't fit into the equation. What did it mean to be human...?Ray then became completely sidetracked by the deep psychological meanings of life and being human, etc.

Aykay could feel them nearby. She crouched into an attack position and glanced sideways at one of the humans who hadn't yet moved. He seem lost in his own head. She roared at him to get going, but in her distraction, she was caught off-guard by the machine that hit her flank hard. She went down, and in seconds, the rest of them were on top of her.@asi@silver_winged@leafpelt

@asi @silver_winged @dada_dragon~~~~~~~~~~~~Frost narrowed her eyes at Margot slightly. She didn't seem to trust the tiger-girl. She seemed harmless, compared to others. Then she noticed Ray. He seemed to be..distracted. Frost tipped her head and said sarcastically, "So you do want to be caught? Ok, go on then." She turned to that tiger-girl. She seemed to be ready to pounce on something. Frost watched as she went down with a bunch of chituari on top of her. Frost glanced nervously at Margot, but then she made a desicion. She took out her bow and started shooting them down, careful to not hit the white tiger, while slowly retreating. "We'll hit and retreat!" Frost yelled.
asi • 18 July 2012 at 1:12 AM
"Ah!" Ray nearly jumped out of his skin when the tiger gave a deafening roar practically right in his face. His/she/it's (Ray wasn't so good on animal gender identification) breath smelled like.. Urgg.. Gag... Never mind."Sorry!" he apologized quickly to Frosting, rubbing the back of his neck with a slightly guilty expression back on his face. He really ought to stay focused... That's when the Chitauri (what??) appeared, so suddenly that if Ray hadn't already been electrified just moments before he would have probably done something much worse than his earlier exclamation, like fallen into the river. On hearing Frost's command, he flashed over to her side then joined in her (excruciatingly slow, after his earlier antics- his heart rate still hadn't slowed down to normal- but he wasn't about to complain) retreat. He watched her shoot and gave a sort of bemused sigh. Not everyone has long range, he refrained from pointing out. If he was Tony Stark he'd have equipped himself with missiles or mini-rocket launchers or a flamethrower or at least a couple of hand-grenades...But he'd never made anything so violent before. Ray didn't know whether he wanted to, or even could.

Aykay bit and clawed at random. She could feel them all over her, digging into her flesh, opening up wounds. Some of them let go, presumably someone was helping her out. She bit down on the final one, tossing him away from her with her mouth. She transformed back into her human form, assessing the damage. Mostly just minor cuts, but one big gash on her shoulder. She applied pressure to it with her hand. She looked over at the girl who had saved her. It was the nice girl and she had a bow in her hand. She followed in her retreat."Nice shot." she said, panting.@bunnyshadow@leafpelt@asi@silver_winged

@bunnyshadow@silver_winged@dada_dragon@asi@jupiter_hollow~~~~~~~~~~~~~Frost barely acknowledged that comment. "Let's go," she said abruptly, her voice sharper than steel. "If there's that many now, there's going to be more later." Frost softened her voice. "Do you perhaps know the way through the place? Our mission is to get away from those things." As she said this, she looked at the others. Fang seemed irritated, Ray seemed amused, Margot and Aizel seemed their usual selves. She retracted her bow into a sword and looked at the others. "Well?"she said.
asi • 18 July 2012 at 4:30 AM
Ray shrugged; no, he had no clue where they were or where they were going. If he did... Maybe he'd have gone ahead. He smiled slightly. "I love it when someone says, 'let's go' and we stand around waiting for someone else to go first," the smile turned into something resembling a smirk, a look that didn't appear too naturally on his face, as he didn't have that kind natural confidence. "But when running, my usual tactic is to let the slow lead," he said shamelessly.(Oh, Ray... Boasting is so not you *shakes head* But you are male, so I suppose it is expected X3)

Aykay was no longer listening to them. She was havin h er own conversation.-You should take them to the ruined tower.- said the voice. -you would all be safer there.--no.- she answered. -I don't trust the angry one.--well, I do. And right now, you should just accept any help you can get. You won't beat the machines on your own.-"I don't care who you do or don't trust!" @asi @dada_dragon @leafpelt @bunnyshadow @meixiaotianMargot had barely taken three steps before two Chitauri appeared out from behind the buildings. She didn't slow her run, however. Instead she met the first with outspread hands, ducking under its pike and grabbing hold of its neck. For good measure, she throttled the creature once before hurling its convulsing body to the ground. The second Chitauri raised its curved weapon and fired off a bolt of energy. Breathlessly uttering a curse, Margot dropped to the floor. She struck the ground ribs first, forcing the air out of her lungs and dizzying her for a brief moment. The ball of energy crackled as it soared past where she had just been standing and into a nearby building. A spray of brick and mortar flew from the charred gash.-c

@jupiter_hollowSeeing that their clear advantage was in long range fighting, Margot intended to bring the creature down. She attacked its ankles with a sweeping kick. Its heavy chest plates had already compromised its balance; the Chitauri fell, and fell hard. Margot scrabbled to gain leverage, striking with her elbows and knees. She managed to pin the creature down at the waist and wrestle the spear from its grasp. Without a second thought, she plunged the point of the spear into its throat. Still in a frenzy, she pushed away from its body with wild eyes and killed its electrocuted partner in the same manner. Frost and the tiger girl had made short work of the others; Margot counted six bodies total.Frost had insisted that they get moving, which Margot wholeheartedly agreed with. "Shut up, Ray," she growled, jogging off into the buildings once more. If they were waiting for someone to lead the way, she'd make it easy for them.

Aykay quickly silenced herself. She went with the others, hoping none of them had heard her outburst. The voice was talking to her sttill about the tower, but she ignored it. She jumped up into the nearest tree, looking for danger. Nothing. Or at least not close by.She caught sight of the top of the tower that had been her home ever since she had escaped from the prison. She hoped they would not find it and want to go in. That was her territory.-They could help you.- the voice reasoned."Never." She answered, believing that the height would hide her words from the others. "No more help."@bunnyshadow@silver_winged@leafpelt@meixiaotian@jupiter_hollow

"You the boss," he saluted with a straight face, then proceeded to mime zipping his lips shut, before following to join her in her jog. As he was now mute, Ray instead examined the sad landscape while he ran. It didn't really remind him of anything at all. It was just- well, nothing. After a few milliseconds, he was itching to open his mouth and ask, in the incredibly annoying tone of a little whiny kid, 'Are we there yet?' but he remembered he couldn't speak. Ray ended up scowling irritably at the surroundings as if he expected them to get up and leave. Or at least hand over some coffee.

A tiger. No way. Never, in her entire life, has she seen a tiger outside of the book she once had. And she had never seen signs of anything bigger than a fox in the woods. She was a shapeshifter. Wow.She saw the one in front being attacked by two chitauri, but then the large troop was coming! Right next to her! And they definitely knew she was there. Aargh! She dashed into the woods, grabbed the rabbit, and sprinted as fast as she could to the others.Something grabbed her from behind. No! Pyra let out a strangled cry. Her hair flung around her face as she blindly scrambled away. It was after her again, but she was going faster than ever. It was barely faster, but she wasn't going to get caught again. She dashed to the river and ran down a couple yards to where there were some rocks beneath the surface. Her shoes squished as she sprinted to the other side. She ran into the group's safety, uttering a small "sorry" as she skidded

@asi@dada_dragon@silver_winged@meixiaotianFrost gave one last, puppy-eyed look at the tiger-girl, then started walking away. Frost had thought she would be a great guide, but it didn't work out. To Ray, she muttered in a voice where he could only hear, "If you're so smart, then lead us. Go on, I'm sure the others wouldn't mind. Plus, knock it off." Then, she moved off as Pyra nearly crashed into them. "You ok?"she asked.

@asi@leafpelt@skylark@silver_winged@dada_dragon[Inserting Drama.]~~~Sylvia pulled aside ten of the more elite, well-trained chitauri. "Go ahead and scout for the runaways." she said, still walking forwards with Andrew. After for a few minutes, she arrived near the bank of a dirty river. She could see that the ten chitauri she had sent forwards earlier were standing a few feet from the water. Her face and lips twisted in disgust as she strolled closer to the river to realize that it was similar- no, much worse- than sewage water. "Go!" she nearly yelled at the three aliens as they immediately followed their orders. They shape-shifted in some large serpent like creatures, before slipping into the water and into the mist. Sylvia growled, and turned to look at Andrew with narrowed eyes. "I'm not getting into that water." she stated. -Meanwhile the group of chitauri had already reached the other side of the river, and were in their mechanical forms once again. They spoke to each other in their alien speech, before hurrying forwards. After a long while of quick traveling, they spotted figures in the distance. They slowed, and slipped into the shadows, hefting their guns.-Fang smiled at the white tiger, a spark of interest flashing across his eyes. {A shapeshifter?} he wondered to himself with a large smirk. {Interesting...}[cont.]

Fang snapped back into reality as he watched Margot and the tiger-girl fight back a few chitauri. {Yes. Very few compared to what is to come.}-Angel flinched with each of the blows dealt to the aliens, and finally winced as she watched the chitauri fall to the dirty ground, obviously dead. She pushed her curly hair behind her ear and looked at the sky. It was almost time.

Lead them?! Ray blinked in shock. Me? He couldn't take that. He burst out laughing. Did he look like someone who could LEAD? That was one of the best jokes he'd heard in ages, even funnier because she sounded so serious. But he was under no illusion; clearly little mutinous Frosting wanted to take control for herself. He shook his head. Margot had perfectly good leadership quialities in his opinion, a certain- how to put it- air of authority, and she was also the oldest. It made sense. Ray had never attempted leading more than a small terrier and had no inclination whatsoever to try that again. Frosting... Maybe she would make a good leader, but he doubted the group would be keen on following such a young girl, himself included.Besides, he KNEW Margot, to an extent. She remained the only one he could talk to, or trust- to an extent.

@asi@bunnyshadow@silver_winged@dada_dragon~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Frost sighed, perhaps a little unhappily. They were getting nowhere. All they were doing was running and fighting. Sure, the videos had helped, but still. Maybe some alone time, strolling and exploring would help. After all, Frost was used to being alone. Absently, she slowed her pace, slowly straying to the back of the group. That mind-control girl was staring at the sky. Oh great, she thought. They didn't know what half the people's names were.

Aykay scampered down the tree. She was beginning to feel uncomfortable here. The animal side of her was sensing something that the human side had learned to depend on for safety - it sensed danger."Arise, poor bird, or face your fateFor in the shadows, tiger waitsThe sun lies low and fate decidesThat sunlight shall not find you."She muttered the song to herself. It was the only comfort she knew. Back in the prison, no one cared if she cried, no one patched up the wounds that the machines - and the other prisoners - inflicted upon her. She had to be strong, and there were very few people she trusted now.@leafpelt@asi@bunnyshadow

A rapid splashing noise caught Margot's attention, and she whirled to face it with the stolen Chitauri spear held in front of her. The source of the noise turned out to be the girl from before, the one with the warm hands. She looked to be in quite a panic. Behind her, the early morning shadows were shifting. Something else was approaching."[yeep]," Margot muttered, pulling down her goggles. A good mass of Chitauri had been following the girl, and now they were headed right for the rest of them. Had she been by herself, Margot would have run, but the group would be too difficult to keep together in that kind of retreat. Since she wasn't running, she would fight."Frost, Stripes, Aizel," Margot called out to them. "Chitauri coming." No sooner had the words left her mouth than the sound of their feet squelching through the river reached their ears. The group of Chitauri advanced upon them quickly. Their numbers were enough to be of concern--more than ten, it seemed. Margot was keen on getting the first shot. She pointed the spear at the mass of approaching aliens, wondering what exactly caused them to fire. She probed her way along the shaft before part of it gave way like a trigger, and a bright, crackling bolt of energy shot out of the tip. It struck the first of the Chitauri cruelly. Most of the alien's torso was missing before it fell to the ground.
leafpelt • 19 July 2012 at 2:28 AM
@silver_wingedStripes? o3o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~At Margot's orders, Frost readied her bow and started shooting. Margot's spear was incredible though. It was a fireball of energy, shooting far. Frost cursed, for Pyra had led many Chituari to them. As they headed closer, she changed her weapon into a dagger and started slicing them.

Aykay climbed up a tree, looking down at the machines. She could feel the fear again. It wasn't the machines. It was something darker. The machines could be bitten. There would be punishment, but it was possible. She was not allowed to be bitten. The people who fought her disappeared. The machines took them and they came back without them.Without a word, Aykay transformed into a tiger and began to run towards the tower.@silver_winged@leafpelt@asi@meixiaotian@bunnyshadow

Ray, still humoring his so-called earlier 'orders', watched the Chitauri advance, part of him- the detached part- was vaguely amused, and interested in the others' fighting skills. The other was panicking and wondering why the heck they weren't running. Sometimes he thought he'd do a lot better if he just struck out on his own. Heck, if he knew where Stark Tower was, he'd be there already. He hesitated; what should he do? Margot hadn't instructed him to fight- of course not. She didn't know he could. Which meant he could easily run off, hide somewhere where he could watch until it was over, either way, or just ditch them altogether. Or, he could be indecisive and just try not to get in the way...He saw Margot, right next to him, strike a Chitauri dead with lightning right out of the spear she'd recently acquired. He flinched as the sad remains collapsed. If any time called for swearing; this was it. Just WHAT exactly, had he got himself messed up in? This was Ray, remember? The factory kid. He was no hero, and certainly not about to take on undetermined numbers of Chitauri. Right?Again, he hesitated, still unmoving. Behind his back, his hand, the one coated with his own special kind of metal glove; the tiny pieces of metal resembling fish-scales in the way that they overlapped, allowing him full flexibility, curled up into a fist.

Aykay looked back and saw that one of them had not begun fighting yet.-You can trust that one.- said the voice. -He can help you.-She made her decision. Perhaps she could use his help. But it had to be quick. She ran back and pulled on the guy's clothing, urging him to follow her to her tower-home.@asi

"Hey!" Ray yelled and nearly fell over when the tiger suddenly appeared and started pulling on his clothes. "Uh- bad kitty!" he yanked the cloth free. If it ripped his clothes, it'd be sorry. That jacket was new- well, newly stolen. He hadn't particularly liked it when the large cat had roared in his face either. Ray looked at the thing with something akin to distrust, or maybe even distaste. Or perhaps he was just freaked out about the huge teeth. He wasn't sure. He figured the order to shut up could be overlooked in the case of a giant feline. "Can't you see I'm kind of preoccupied at the moment?" he asked, exasperated.

Aykay was getting impatient. They had to go. She was beginning to wonder if this really was a good idea.-He can help.- insisted the voice. She growled and tried a different approach. Resorting to the theory; pretend big scary thing isn't there and it will cease to exist, Ray deftly sidestepped the tiger, before he/she... /it could protest.Immediately after doing so he was confronted with a much uglier mug than the one of whom he had just excused himself from. Chitauri. And if Ray hadn't moved that extra inch to the left, hadn't seen that bullet coming, if he'd been just a millisecond slower, he'd be Chitauri toast..Ray hit the ground and rolled, literally feeling disturbance in the air as the next bullet carved its path through the blessedly empty space above him. The roll brought him forwards, closer to the enemy, which had foolishly continued to charge forwards, confident that no one would dare challenge the half-metal hybrid in close combat. A fatal mistake. Now within range, Ray slid under it's defenses and delivered a fast, powerful blow upwards, with his specially gloved hand, right where he knew to be a weak spot in the armor, though it didn't really matter where. The ridiculous force of the punch shot the stunned Chitauri skyward, high above Ray's head.t= d/v. Ray counted down, timing everything perfectly.Midair, the Chitauri recovered, and tried to aim down at him, but missed. As the alien fell, Ray jumped up and slammed his fist into it's stomach area (or what would have been on a human), sending the creature crashing to the ground, pavement beneath it cracking and giving way. That Chitauri was out of the battle, if not out of the living.

@leafpelt@asi@silver_winged@dada_dragon@meixiaotian[I vill control zee aliens 😋)~~~Angel eyes flicked over the chitauri, and counted ten. Two were taken out, one by the oldest girl of the group, and another by a boy with blue eyes. She watched as one of the aliens charged towards her. She whispered something to it as it ran towards her, and a fight soon began. The girl lashed out and succeeded in hitting the alien towards the chest. Angel was dragged onto the ground, where her and the alien grappled. She whispered something else, and Angel kicked the chitauri off her before rolling back and stepping back.-Fang was soon attacked by one of the mechanical beasts. Fang pulled an knife out of his sleeve and hacked at the alien. Before long, the chitauri was nothing but scattered metal limbs on the dirty ground. The boy turned just in time to get shot by one of the aliens. Luckily, the bullet only just grazed his arm. Fang laughed aloud cruelly, his red eyes glinting in the dull light as he ripped the head from the alien.-Two of the aliens headed to Aykay, while another two cocked their guns and aimed at Pyra. The one that Angel had kicked back attacked Ray, whilst another one had gotten behind Margot. The two that were left split up, one towards Frost and the other towards whoever was left over.
meixiaotian • 24 July 2012 at 1:26 PM
Pyra didn't fight. She couldn't. She was a survivor, not a fighter, and the best she could do was dodge and run. That was the best she would do. Her eyes widened as to of the chitauri raised their guns at her. If only she was bulletproof. She dropped down and rolled to her left, But not before one shot out and hit her back, near the spine. She yelped and dashed away, heading towards an abandoned building.

@bunnyshadow @meixiaotian @leafpelt @asi @silver_winged @dada_dragon Up until now, Aizel had fought only close combat and had attacked and defended herself without any weapon. Her knuckles were slightly bruised, hence the hard metallic monsters that she was forced to punch, but she hanged out pretty well. A high pitched screech was ripped from the Chitauri behind her as a sharp strike with her elbow dented it's metal chest. Doubling over, the creature exposed it's helm, where Aizel embedded her knee. The Chitauri fell to the ground immediatelly, unmoving and the girl continued further into her fight. A pair of mechinical beasts aimed at Pyra, and one managed to drive a bullet through her back. Pouncing onto one's back, Aizel wrapped her legs around it's waist and took a firm hold of it's head, snapping it to the right sharply. A loud crack and cackle of electricity announced the breaking of its neck. Jumping down from it, she suceeded on ripping the gun from it's convulsing hand. The other beast was already aiming at her, but before it had managed to do anything, she fired a dozen bullets in its head. Another gun joined the first one in her hands. She gripped both weapons, smiling in victory. Cold steel ground against her palms, fingers fitting perfectly on the trigger. The advantage she now possessed felt... delightful.
