Sylvia tilted her head to the side as she stared at the device over Kita's shoulder. Rebel hunter helping a rebel? He was doing bad buisness. Upon closer inspection, she recognized the traitor as Ethan- no! Traitors.. There was a chitauri, too.

An elaborate plan began to form in her twisted mind as she recognized Aykay. Her lips tilted up in a tiny half smile. "Kita, my dear. I know exactly what we're going to do."

Kita looked up at Sylvia. What plan was forming in her mind? Obviously it involved this rebel hunter, but Sylvia was obviously seeing something that she was not seeing.

"What would you like me to do, milady?" she asked, wanting to know where this was going...

@bunnyshadow

Ethan was enraged. He should have had her by now. This little minx was dodging his every move. He wished Taku was free to fight with him, but he was busy restraining Aykay, who had managed to let out an earsplitting roar, probably calling for backup.

All of a sudden, he felt something collide into his side. It wasn't enough to do anything, but it caused him to lose his focus on the girl to see what had happened.

Aykay would have groaned if she were human, but with the tiger's throat and vocal chords, it sounded a cough... Ray had just ran in, tripped, and slid across the dirt into Ethan. It wasn't exactly the kind of backup she had hoped for...

Minx.

Frost: *cracks knuckles* Buh-bye, Tigethan.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frost was delighted and infuriated at Ray's idiotic entrance. For one, it gave her a chance to reach into her hair, and mime getting a pair of fans out. Seemingly innocent, but with a slide of her thumbs, blades would come out. Push back, and it looked like a fan again. It replicated Fi-her dead guardian's favorite weapon.
On the other hand, Ray probably wouldn't get the situation. He'll probably show recognition, and out goes one factor of it.
She held her fans out, and started fanning herself. She'll just wait for another lunge...or something...
"Get it? Christmas... Fir trees... FUR trees.... Ah, forget it," Ray managed to pick himself up with some dignity, then got a proper look at the large tiger that clearly wasn't Aykay. It was bigger and she was right over there.
".... Uh, am I hallucinating or is this a Panthera tigris tigris? As far as I am aware, they are only found in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutar, China and Myanmar. Perhaps some menagerie is responsible, that would explain why both happen to be showing the recessive mutant gene..." It had to somehow be related to Aykay, he guessed. He didn't know how she had the ability to shapeshift, but this was too much of a coincidence for them to be unrelated. And by the looks of things, this tiger wasn't so friendly.
He was also talking a lot less randomly than usual, out of nerves, and found he'd accidently dropped the slave-boy accent, something he'd never managed to pick up naturally, but had rather forced it- because there's no better way to get bullied in the factories than sounding like a posh, stuck-up rich kid. That's when he noticed Frost for the first time.
"Antigone! I have been looking all over for you the past hour! Last time it was the river, and now tigers? Our parents are extremely worried about your behaviour recently, you really must stop playing rebel hunter! You are much too young to join the military yet. You had better come home quickly, before they discover this latest escapade of yours," he then gave a guilty look at his shoes, and explained away his suspicious speed, and conveniently his klutziness as well; "Also, I must return these prototype trainers before anyone notices... I have instructed the servants to keep our parents occupied as long as possible, but you know father... We both have to hurry back now."
Ray knew exactly how bossy and snobbish he sounded, and if at that moment his voice had had a face, he would have punched it. In the face.
Ethan looked confusedly between this newcomer and the annoying girl. Could those two really be rebels? If they were, they were the worst rebels he'd ever seen... He had to test them.
He returned to his human form and approached the boy.
"Sorry about the confusion, sir. There has been a lot of rebel activity over here and you sister was hiding here in the bushes, so I was a little suspicious, but no matter, my apologies." He feigned an apologetic smile. "If you give me your full name, I can have my superior send some sort of compensation for your trouble. I insist."
Aykay watched Ethan carefully. Was he really buying Ray's ruse? No... He was smarter than that... He had to at least suspect something was up... So what was he up to?
Of course Ray chose a martyr from Greek Mythology. She started to feel that he was just as depressing as Margot.
Keeping up with this facade, she pretended to curtsy, even though she had pants on. "Since when do I ever listen to you, Polynices? You should know very well that I HATE following orders. Besides, don't you have better things to do than boss little me around? I am quite enjoying myself here-that is, until you came along." she quipped.
If they were going by that story, might as well keep to the tale. A pleasant smile was on her lips, even though she was mentally about to strangle Ray.
Hearing Ethan say something about their names made her look up. Yeah right, he suddenly would believe their story. "Excuse me, kind sir," she started. She could just see herself murdering Ethan...
"If I may say," she continued eloquently, with the thought of Ethan being thrown in a bag and "accidentally" dropped in a river in her mind.
"Since I may have gotten in your way before by being terribly annoying-and if I may,....apologize....for that, and then we've had this misunderstanding, shall we call it even, as they say? I was just, having fun, as I said, but it seems that I have caused trouble instead. Again, I must apologize for all that." She gave a pleasant smile to Ethan as well. At this point, Frost was ready to...ah, let's just say it was not a pretty idea.
Ethan smiled at her. "In any case, I have to report all incidents to must superiors, so I'll still require your full names. Nothing will be written on your permanent files or anything. It's just record-keeping is all..." he explained. "If you have nothing to hide, you should have nothing to worry about. At your age, I would highly doubt it."
Aykay couldn't figure out what he was up to. So far, everything he had said was just protocol... but he didn't expect them to give their real names, did he?
"Oh, come now!" he cried out in annoyance. "That comparison is unjust. I wouldn't betray my country," he said very arrogantly, before appearing startled upon Ethan's transformation.
"A noble sentiment, no doubt," he said slowly to the older male- who had a notable resemblance to their Catnip, when he'd recovered from his apparent 'shock'. "Though I don't see what kind of pittance you presume you could give my family. You have the pleasure of addressing the heir to the leader of the Solaris trading cartel. You see that weapon over there," he gestured to the one which Ethan had given to Aykay. "Standard military issue, correct? On the side, you see engraved my last name." Ray paused a moment to let his aristocrat conceit sink in, before continuing.
"In any case, you alerting my family to our presence here would be most inconvenient for the both of us. As you no doubt inferred from what I said to my sister, we are supposed to be being tutored in the 5th century BC, not here. There's no need for pretenses; you probably just intend to verify if we really are who we claim, and considering current, somewhat rumpled appearances, I won't reprimand you for your doubt. However, you must understand that my sister is underage, hence her unwillingness to put forward her name. As is custom, it won't be publicly announced until the time of her debutante, which is several years away yet. For this reason, I ask your discretion as to this information."
He couldn't exactly give his real name; Ray had been gone for years, so long that his own name was alien on his tongue, as he'd had to go by an alias the entire time in the factories. Luckily, while his memory for names seemed hopeless, there were two he couldn't have forgotten if he'd wanted to, despite only hearing them once. For a long time, he'd hated them more than anything.
"My name is Claus Alistair Julian Solaris, and this is my sister, Rhiannon Anastasia Verity Solaris. Satisfied?" he raised an eyebrow.
Ethan pulled out a small device from the bag from which he'd retrieved the gun for Aykay. He typed in the names he'd been given, and to his surprise, both had a match in the database.
However, while there was no image attached to the file on Rhiannon, there was one for Claus and it certainly wasn't him...
"Identity verified, sir." He said, powering down the device. "I apologize for the inconvenience.
While this kid was clearly a fake, he had a pretty impressive knowledge of upper-class life. Perhaps he was a runaway like Aykay... Whoever he was, his family was obviously in high favour of the emperor...
"If you would like, I could escort you to your home, sir." He said, returning the device to the bag and grabbing a stun tool. He kept his hand in the bag, pretending to look for something. There were three of them... Three conscious anyhow... The boy first, then the girl... Taku could handle Aykay, but he would have to be sure to stun her as well so they could leave with the two impostors... Unless the girl was actually Rhiannon... That might be trouble... No matter...
In one fluid movement, he pulled the stun tool out of the bag and switched it on, running at the boy at full speed.
Sylvia puckered her lips as she thought. "When HE returns, you will find him and tell him that I would like to speak to him. If that thing is with him, bring it along, too." She pointed at the device with a slender finger. "I am beginning to tire of this rebel buisness. Clearly, our allies are not handling them as expected. We need to wipe them out quick, before anything gets out of hand." The demigod pulled back, turning her gaze to the wall. "My father is never intelligent when it comes to humans. He underestimates them, perhaps to overly so. It is the sole reason that the..." She made air quotes. "Avengers, almost won. We mustn't make the same mistake. I've always been in favor of destroying stray rebels before they form a group large enough to actually cause harm..."
Sylvia trailed off thoughtfully. "Though I absolutely WOULD like to watch as this scene unfolds. To see how far they can actually get in rousing the humans to fight. It has been quiet an enjoyable time here, but not for any longer. You petty creatures are to easily conquerable. Perhaps when my father and I are done here, we shall discover other realms. Or he and I could seperate and travel our own ways until somehing interesting occurs once again."
Frost put her fan in front of the stun gun. Improvisation, shoot. She was always uneasy about that. It would be nicer if she could anticipate...
"Wait," she commanded, her voice taking on an imperious tone, although it was still pleasant. She replied something that would surprise herself.
"You passed. Or rather, you still can." Her voice held a hint of darkness in them. It wasn't threatening. It seemed to hint that she had another side than pleasantries and being polite.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Zoe watched as Ray ran off. "Hmm. I feel like we should help, but Alexis-that dearie, bless her soul- would kill us." Her voice was sarcastic.

Jake chuckled darkly. "Yeah, well, that depends on what are you more afraid of. The chances of her killing us, or the chances of her being killed."

Zoe grew serious. It was funny. Everyone always thought she was a good-for-nothing fashionista, beauty obsessed, lovesick fool. What they didn't know was that was her personality, her way of saying, "Hey World! This is how I am, and you have to deal with it!" She wasn't shallow or conceited, but everyone always thought that way. Funny.

Sure, she was disadvantaged in some aspects, but not every single freaking girl had to know how to do absolutely everything.

Kita nodded, but the prospect of walking up to a rebel hunter and a chitauri and giving them orders from the princess was a little unnerving...

"And if he asks me, what do I tell him is the reason for him being brought in?" She asked.

Frost had a strange look on her face. A confident smile on her face, which contrasted from her usual mask.

"Be patient. Now...where was I? Oh yeah." This was to infuriate.

"Your superiors have been tracking rebel activity and they believe they have traitors. They have been sending out...agents to check on their allies." Typical thing for a tyrant government to do.

"Unfortunately for you," she paused, looking directly at him, her eyes full of both cruel mirth and confidence, a combination that wasn't natural to her personality.

"Unfortunately for you," she repeated, 'You were caught-- handing a chitauri gun to a rebel."

Now for the proposal. (A/N: Not the marriage kind. No ideas. :c) "I would throw you in prison straightaway, but I feel that I should be merciful for once in my life. I'll make you a deal. You let this...boy and that rebel girl free, and I'll turn a blind eye to your...actions. Or, you could always be suicidal." Her voice was laced with distaste and her mouth held a cruel smirk.

"So, what choice will you make? It's your call." She stepped back, glaring at him. No, more like...observing.

He smirked. Now he had her. It might have been believable, but no government officer would be negotiating the release of a prisoner unless they were a traitor themselves... Nevertheless, her words made him uncomfortable... Giving a weapon to a rebel, according to the new law, made him a traitor.

But she was his sister. He had promised their mother to keep her safe...

"By all means, arrest me." He smirked, lifting his hands up as if in defeat. "But I would first like to see some proof of your authority. As a captain, it is in my rights to contest an arrest should I think it to be invalid..."

Aykay struggled to pull herself free from Taku's grip. Ethan was toying with Frost. He knew perfectly well that she was a rebel, and she wanted to be able to help her fight if needed...

Taku was a lot stronger than he looked, but seemed reluctant to hurt her. She almost pulled herself free, but he kicked her in the side, winding her. She panted for air as he regained his hold on her.

She had to think of something...

Sylvia didn't bother to respond as she stared at the device. "This is not right, my dear. Since when have our servants become so incompetent? Have we been rewarding them to much? Giving them to much spare time? Letting them feast and grow torpid by the day?" she asked rhetorically.
-
Moth fluttered up higher, his black eyes continuing to watch the group with certainty. It's antennae began to twitch excitedly as the tension rose in the surrounding area. Moth couldn't wait till his masters did something about the traitor servants.

Frost's eyes flashed, but she remained unperturbed. "Sorry," she said nonchalantly. "But my position demands me to not reveal my identity. I think you'll understand."

She looked at Ethan again. Yep, he probably knew that she was rebel. Meh. It was coming up anyways.

She took a small risk. "Fine. We'll arrest-no. We'll kill you...right after we kill that girl first." She pointed to Aykay, no trace of guilt or her face, her hand steady.

While Ethan was distracted by Frost, Ray snuck around his back, and with lightning-speed, reached into the loosely-held bag and nicked that strange device the captain had used earlier.
"Wooooww, when did you guys get these?" he smiled like a kid in a candy store, and immediately began messing around with EVERYTHING on it, fingers flying across the screen. "Oh man, I shoulda joined me up to the milz," he sighed, then gave Ethan an evil grin as he pressed a certain button....

West wandered along through the palace sleeping quarters. It had just occurred to her that Loki probably had the nicest bed. Maybe she could curl up at the end. He was a king, so he'd have a king-sized, and she was tiny, so it couldn't really bother him... Besides, considering the time, it looked like he was going to sleep on his throne. That was what West was thinking when, with her exceedingly heightened senses, she overheard a murmur of voices from another room nearby. Once aroused, the pink-head's curiosity was incorrigible, and she ambled on into the room without another thought.

Sylvia stepped over to her desk, where she plucked up what seemed to be a tiny mechanical device. The demi-god fiddled with it for a few moments, before bringing it close to her mouth, her face stoic, her voice cold."Hello, Ethan." She said. "Would you mind telling me what you and your pet are doing? I'd like to speak to you in person, but you are not where you are supposed to be."

Ethan had almost forgotten about the transmitter in his ear. The princess was contacting him directly, which was never a good thing... He hesitated before pushing a button on the side of the transmitter. Judging from the lack of noise in the background, she was at the palace.

"I will be there soon, princess." He replied, hoping that she merely needed him elsewhere. He hated to let the rebels escape, but the princess came first. No one needed to know about the encounter...

"Taku, let's go." He said abruptly. "The princess has requested our presence."

Taku released Aykay, who growled, taking on a defensive stance in case he changed his mind. Ethan took one look at the device in the boy's hands and aimed the stun tool at it. He fired the tool, short-circuting the device. He could always get a new one but he couldn't afford to let them get that information.

He and Taku turned to leave.

Sylvia completely ignored Ethan's reply, before repeating her question, this time with a more threatening air. "What are you doing?" She said. "Answer me whenever I ask a question." "Sorry, princess. I was delivering a rebel prisoner to prison in Stark Tower, but it appears that an attack has compromised the tower's ability to retain its prisoners..." he assumed that she already knew what had happened. "I assumed that investigating the situation took priority over the capture of a low-risk rioter, but I apologize if I misjudged."

He glanced every once in a while over his shoulder to make sure the rebels weren't following. He was probably in enough trouble already...

Aykay pulled herself to her feet. She looked over at Frost, exhausted. She had underestimated Frost's abilities... she didn't need that transforming weapon of hers... she was fast and smart...

And Ray was obviously more clever and adaptable than he let on... and he was obviously from an upper-class family... how else would he have spoken so eloquently with such a perfect accent?

"Very well." Sylvia replied. She then settled into a long silence, almost as if she had disconnected from the device. Finally, she spoke, asking the question as if she already knew the answer. He turned to Taku. "You can leave if you want to. I'm going to face what I've done."

Taku shook his head, just another habit he'd picked up. Ethan smiled.

"Sometimes I think you're more human than I am."

Frost watched as Ethan suddenly left. So unlike his personality.. Perhaps it was Sylvia, judging from the change of action from Ethan. She retracted her "fans" and threw it up in the air. The clip would automatically be at the end of her braid in a moment.

She glanced at Aykay, who was looking at her. Frost could tell she was tired. She also seemed as if something was bothering her...?

Her face blank, she kept a fierce look in her eyes for another moment. Then she lay down on the ground. Her eyes closed shut.

A moment passed. Finally, she coldly talked. "I have my theories, but..." she trailed off. When she spoke again, it was icier than before. Her voice held the beginnings of a snarl. "Explain. Both of you."

Her eyes were still closed, but she visualized her theories. Ray and Aykay, both in different homes, but very extravagant. Them...learning with books... illegal books that she might have eventually found in the streets. Incorporating her own experiences seem to make that fantasy, or possible reality in their case...more real.

Aykay...it seemed that she ran away of her own free will. Ray was a mystery.

Wait. Factories. She found Margot and him at the factories. Why would a rich kid be at the factories? Ran away?[She highly doubted that.]Family turned traitor? Frost thought...no. Forced by empire?

It was possible.

She wanted an affirmation. And something she could be sure of.

Aykay transformed reluctantly and leaned up against the rock where Pyra was still leaning, still unconscious. She was breathing still at least...

"He's my brother." she explained. "He and Taku... that chitauri... are rebel hunters."

She moved her hand and felt something cold. It was the chitauri weapon Ethan had given her. She held it absent-mindedly in her hand as she continued.

"I was too, but there was an incident during one of the missions that changed my mind and I ran away. I got arrested trying to break into Stark Tower through the tunnels. Any questions?"

She set down the weapon. She didn't like talking about the past.

@leafpelt

Kita nodded and excused herself. As she reached the armory, she took hold of the electric staff. She didn't know why Sylvia would bother bringing her. No doubt she'd have plenty of chitauri with her... And Kita was just a servant-girl...

She returned to Sylvia with the weapon and awaited orders.

Ethan turned to Taku. "She wants us to meet her just outside the starting that's and factories... I don't like where this is going."

As they began to walk, Taku smiled and said something in a reassuring tone. Or at least the chitauri equivalent. Ethan laughed.

The demi-god began walking down the hallway and towards the exit. Once outside, she stood by a chitauri and began speaking. Instead of words, her lips forming the clicking speech of the aliens'.

A couple of minutes later, a hoard of about 10 chitauri appeared. With a couple more clicks, Sylvia turned on her heel and began heading towards the factories. Three chitauri to her left, 3 to the right, and the rest behind her.

By the time Ethan would arrive, Sylvia would be there and waiting.

Frost sat up for a moment, looking at Aykay. She desperately wanted to bomb her with questions...but it didn't seem nice to. She let Aykay know that she wasn't finished with asking more about her past, but she wasn't going to push it. For now.

"No questions," she said finally, hesitantly. "Just a comment."
She flopped back down and closed her eyes again.

She replayed what she thought of their pasts. "You were from a rich family, one in favor of Loki. You probably had been educated fairly well. What changed you...."She faltered.

"What changed your mind was seeing the cruelty firsthand. Before that...you were shielded. By your brother. Ethan. "

She shook her head.

"We weren't rich, but we didn't have to work in the factories either... We were just middle-class, I guess." She fidgeted, unsure of how truthful her answer should be... "And it wasn't the cruelty that stopped me. I witnessed plenty of cruelty and I'm not proud of what I did as a rebel hunter."

She wasn't really sure what they'd think of after this, but what did she have to lose? Who really cared what they thought? They were on the run as much as she was...

"They told us that rebels were all rioting, disruptive, destruction-seeking, chaos-loving anarchists who just wanted to cause problems. It was a whole load of crap propaganda though. We raided a rebel camp and I was sent into a shack to look for more of them and inside was a woman and her three kids." She said. "I found out later that they were on the run because the kids had thrown rocks at a chitauri on a dare and the mother was worried they'd be arrested... But the fact they had lied about what the rebels really were was what changed my mind in the end. They weren't fighting to cause trouble, they were trying to survive. It surprised me, I hesitated, and she had a stolen chitauri gun and..."

She pulled her sleeve up to show Frost the scar on her shoulder. She really didn't have to say more.

Kita held the weapon tightly in her hand and followed closely behind Sylvia. The chitauri made her feel uncomfortable and unnecessary. Why was she here anyhow?

Ethan and Taku were close to the factories now. The workers were done their shifts and were staring uncomfortably in their direction. Rebel hunters weren't exactly popular here...
