They have, once again, disappointed us D=
I like the fact that an armadillo has never been made before in EC, so there's one now, but they could've done so much better with the design, honestly!
The CSPs look like they could be the cave ones, all too simple-drawn...! =(
Vecker is like a creepy version of the Hydrhis o.O Really scary treeman... Oos is like a water spirit with a Narlock-inspired look, but of course, worse...!

Lol~ But yeah, all the creatures this month seem so... small-ish! o.O The designs used to be bigger and bolder and clearer, and more sophisticated, and more colorful previously!

I'm all good with the new travels, though they look less-cartoony and more realistic, a little too dark I think, just like Moontops and Bioluminiscent Jungle...! xD But yeah, they look... detailed o.O

I can't help but agree about the Oos. it looks way too much like the Narlock. The art quality of the creatures was a bit disappointing. I like the Vecker though because I think eggcave is lacking in scary creatures.

Yeah, the design could have been much better. The only stage that I actually like is the second one. I think the egg is odd and the first stage is kind of dumb.

Glowing colors on the Baku look ok, I guess, but I think I'd have to prefer this month's to last month's, at least they didn't make any insects! xD
I don't really like the CSPs, which is good, because I don't have to spend extra ECs on them xD Instead, I'm going to keep saving up for the creatures I like more! xD Lol~

it's true they have too many trees. I just like this one because it looks like something you might imagine seeing in the corner of your eye while on a late night walk in the forest. I like the creepy look, I'm not a huge fan of cute creatures. 😊

What a...disappointing discussion. I understand not liking some of the designs and such, but this is a small (and fairly new) website. It's run by a handful of people and they bring us new content constantly. I'm quite impressed by the quality of the art considering how much they're pumping out. And we get all of this for free if we want. It seems a bit mean to go on for three pages about how much you hate some of the creatures (especially since some of those creatures are user suggested). Perhaps you should cool it a bit. Or volunteer your own artistic skills!

It's not like we're haters, and /hating/ something so drastically that we throw rocks and give such bad words, all of the things we've been saying so far were just opinions.
And I've never said that the user's suggestions' creatures were bad, I said it was good, just that the official art wasn't as great as the original one!

Opinions can still hurt. I'm not trying to stop ya'll or anything, but just imagine the artists seeing this board. It would at probably annoy and/or discourage them. Or the user who suggested the Poplin might be like me an actually like the new design but feel bad because of the digs at it. They didn't draw it, but they did come up with it's idea and might feel a sort of responsibility/attachment/pride to it. Just sayin', but carry on party people.

Egg Cave releases 4 creatures every MONTH. Not to mention possible cave additions. That's pretty good, if you ask me. Then there's travels too. :I

Also, if you guys are going to give criticism, give /constructive/ criticism. Saying "I hate it" or "It's ugly" and the like is not going to improve the art at all. If you have proper crits to give, go here.

Another thing - the Egg Cave staff are all (apart from Ian, of course) VOLUNTEERS. Try putting yourself/ves in their shoes. Moderating is not just about the power, banning, and looking at reports.

It was never abused, but it was the *only* thing to do here. Plus, so many people would buy it (which would make money for EC) and then everyone could trade. You didn't have to ever buy CC in order to have awesome creatures. Then you could start trading creatures for creatures and it was fun. But now, nobody wants EC for older creatures. When I put my Yuki UFT, that's all I get. "How much EC for the Yuki?" I don't want EC, I can get that on my own. The CC creatures now are just not EC style.

Now, it's hard to get older creatures. New comers don't have a chance to get older creatures. It's a shame to see a once fun website turn into a complete drag.

Eeh, I trade older CC critters for EC sometimes ta help some newer players. I also trade older critters for newer ones but yeah it is harder ta get older critters now and it makes it a little testing on my patient side. Cause most people don't like the new ones enough ta separate with their older ones /sigh/

Fairly new? It's been up since 2009. No one has said anything rude. We just don't think the art is up to EggCave's par. If someone can't take someone's opinion, that's not my problem. You just have to learn to deal with how others feel. Not everything is all dandy.

The removal of CC Gifting was actually due to extensive abuse. Aside from users actually using CaveCash for trading, there were plenty of behind-the-scenes transactions and scams going on as well. Too many unpleasantries were piling up to the point where removing CC Gifting was more or less a necessity. It wasn't a spur-of-the-moment idea to upset users, but rather one that was deliberated amongst the staff and ultimately decided upon as the course of action to take.

And yes, there have been plans to expand Egg Cave's item system beyond just Travels and Cash Shop stuff (with a much higher focus on EC), but progress has been admittedly slow as of late. Rest assured, it's coming along.

Hopefully this clears a couple things up at least. I would like to apologize to any users who have been feeling slighted as of lately on Egg Cave. The staff is certainly aware of the different opinions and feelings that users have towards certain features/creatures/etc. and always take them into consideration. Just hang in there.
