I look down, seeing the endless horizon of night stretch out before me. Beautiful rolling hills, all silhouetted against the moon. These are the Moontops, something every creature has a hidden lust to see. But even they cannot match my glory.

I unfurl my wings, iridescent, with a slight purple hue. I stretch them and all my emerald feathers ripple. A delightful tingling spreads through my being as I prepare for flight, the hidden bliss. The cool night air ruffles my feathers, and so I tense my muscles, preparing the great leap that will send me through the air.

Earth presses between my talons, and I push off, feeling the Earth give way beneath me as I soar, higher and higher. I could fly to the moon if I so chose, but that is not what I wish. I angle my wings ever so slightly, and suddenly dive towards the ground. It rushes towards me at a breakneck pace, and I revel in the feeling of weightlessness. As the ground in nigh on impact, I turn up, and ascend to another Moontop. The process begins again, enchanting ups, downs, and dives-- the quintessence of flight.

A passerby would see nothing but a streak of light, the aura that all Mo carry. They might think it a shooting star, not the grace of a Mo. But those who do understand, the ones who appreciate, they see us as a Mo. And why are we called Mo? We are the Modus Operandi for flight, flight in true form. The very personification of flight, is a Mo in the air. No other bird can aspire to match the form and grace of a Soaring Mo. And no Mo can ever be contained, no matter how hard the try, for we alone of all birds, are truly free.

The wind blew across the trees, a sound like a ghost echoed in the air. Rain poured down sounding like a flurry of infinite bullets. And there was thunder, a splittening crack rumbled with the wind - lightning flashed, illuminating the dark sky for a few seconds... a few seconds to see the moon. Like a pale, silver spotlight, moonlight streamed through the canopy of branches - there were no leaves. The foliage withered away with the morning sun of Summer.

Winter's frost was so cold that Autumn could hardly even exist; I even wonder if I have ever experienced the gales of Autumn. It was always cold, wherever I was, as if Winter was following me - even in a heated room, I would drain the warmth away...
