I have never seen an egg in the thief shop... but from the things I've heard it's rare to even see a creature in it and even rarer to have an actual creature inside the egg

It just depends on how much free time you have. I happened to have a lot of free time yesterday, and I was 'lucky' to get the eggs at the same time I was on. But as you can see, out of the 5 eggs I bought, only 1 was real.

And the eggs usually appear on the 5 minute mark. Like 2:05 am, 2:15, 5:55.... I usually just refresh like crazy and don't bother with the time.
