Kita hit the gas the second she got an opening. The car sped up to match her speed.

"I think so." She said, not bothering to look back. "You'd better hurry up. The police are gonna start taking notice soon."

The car jerked as she sideswiped another vehicle.

"I'm gonna move onto the highway. I'm gonna crash if I keep going on main streets." She turned a sharp corner and headed for the city limits. "I'll be heading south of the city. Keep on the line. I'll keep you updated."

Vladan held the phone tightly in his hand as he started up the car, before tossing the small device on his lap. He sped down the familiar road away from his house, lined with the green foliage that blocked the sunlight often. "Where are you going to exit?"

He stepped on the gas, steering the wheel with only his left hand. The man held the butt of a pistol in his right one, struggling slightly to load the weapon as he drove down the road. The man slowed down slightly as he entered the busy intersections that signaled the beginning of the public city streets. He skirted around the buildings, keeping towards the exterior of the roads as much as possible.

"Try not to get the attention of the police... Or anyone for that matter." Vladan said as he pulled on his shades. "I'm not trying to get any media coverage on anything that's going to happen tonight."

"Easy for you to say." she said, veering to avoid a minivan. "I'm exiting right now. South side of the city... the exit that almost immediately goes onto an overpass. I forget the number, and at the speed I'm going, I probably shouldn't spend too much time looking backwards."

The car was beside her now. She glanced to the side briefly. The man looked surprised.

"Yeah, he's got facial tattoos." she said. "And I'm pretty sure he thought I was y-"

She was interrupted by the car smashing into the side of hers. This guy was nuts.

"Hang on, Vladan. I need to do some crazy driving for a second."

She slammed her foot as hard as she could on the gas. She needed to get off the overpass. If he knocked her off of here, she was dead.

Vladan slowed down when he neared the less populated edges of the large city. He cruised down the cracked roads, this part of the city was relatively poorer than the areas in the interior. Though the man had slowed down significantly, he still maintained a speed that passed the numbers on any and all of the signs on the sidewalks.

A loud screeching sound emitted from the phone in his lap, and he shoved the gun inside his jacket. "Kita, please tell me that wasn't my car." He said worriedly. A large bridge loomed in the distance, and Vladan could feel his heart beating wildly in his chest.

"I see it." He muttered. "I can try to cut him off where the overpass leads to the desert in the outer ridges of the city, or you can try to take down his vehicle, but that's relatively harder and a lot more difficult then just disengaging from him."

Vladan grit his teeth at the rumbling noises resounding from the phone. He clenched tightly on the steering wheel, praying to all the gods out there that Kita would be fine.

"What?" The man said incredulously, taken aback by his thoughts. No no no... That wasn't right. He forced himself to rethink his previous contemplation.

Vladan sighed as he sped up in hopes of catching up to Kita and the man attempting to attack her. He silently prayed to himself that his car would be fine. It would cost a fortune to repair, if it would even be repairable after what was happening and going to happen.

Chloe looked at her, smile not returned. Just as she thought. "Where else? To get rid of it. If you want to steal it from the new owner, be my guest. But, if you think you can take it from me, you're sadly mistaken." She took a left, back in the direction she was supposed to go.

Kita was nearly at the end of the overpass when he slammed into her again. Vladan's car slammed into the guard rail, spitting sparks. He wasn't going to like that. The rail held, but it was straining.

"You know, right now, the last thing I care about is your car, Vladan. This guy is trying to commit vehicular homicide and I am pinned." She said angrily. "What on earth did you do to get him so angry?"

She felt him pull away from her car and she took her chance. She reached the end of the overpass and hit the highway. Second later, she saw him catching up.

"Vladan, he's right on my tail. He-"

He slammed into her, sending her clear off the highway and into the ditch. She struggled to regain control of the vehicle, and managed to keep it upright. The car came to a lurching halt. She sat back, in shock.

"Hello?" Vladan said. "Hello, Kita? Are you there?" The man wondered fleetingly what had happened, but his question was answered almost immediately by a faint trail of smoke rising in the distance. "Kita are you okay?"

The heavily tattoo'd man opened his car door roughly. His entire vehicle was littered with scratches and dents, but that didn't matter to him. What he had come for was what he was about to get, and he pulled a gun out from his inside jacket pocket. The black car in front of him had halted due to it's collision with the side of the ditch, and he stepped towards the back of the car.

The license plate flashed lightly in the dim light from the moon, and he was sure that this was Vladan's care. However, the issue was that the man himself hadn't driven it tonight. His gun clicked loudly, and the noise echoed through the night.

"Get out of the car." He said gruffly as he stepped towards the passengers door. "You follow my instructions and you won't get killed." Sirens wailed loudly in the distance. He was running out of time.

"Hurry up before I shoot you!"

Silence, no reply. However, Vladan did hear some crackling coming from the other end. A fire maybe? He looked down at the phone on his lap. The call was still going on, but the woman was not replying. Had something happened that caused her phone to get out of reach?

Vladan stepped on the gas, but the wailing of sirens in the distance--far ahead of him, left him with a sinking feeling. The overpass hung dangerously over the man, but the night was quiet save for the sirens. He slowed down significantly as he headed towards the smoke, weighing his options heavily in his mind.

Looking at the man, she felt a pang of fear. She had hoped that he would give up when she was in the ditch, but...

She complied. sneaking her phone into her pocket while undoing her seat belt, pretending to struggle with it like it had been damaged. He might find it later, but she needed to give Vladan all the info he needed to know.

She got out of the car, keeping her hands in the air.

Not good.

The man pulled Kita roughly towards him, wrapping his free arm around her waist. As he did this, he placed the gun by the side of her head. "Try anything and you're dead." He threatened angrily as he hurriedly headed back towards his car.

The man shoved Kita into his passengers seat, but not before patting her down swiftly to make sure she was unarmed and defenseless. He sat in the driver's seat, starting up his car after a few angry tries. The man stamped on the gas pedal. His vehicle struggled slightly as he forced it's way out of the ditch, but once it was back on flat land, it hit max speed.

He remained silent throughout the entire drive. There was no point in rushing for answers, the woman was bound to answer all his questions later.

They drove for a long time. He was heading back towards the city, towards the industrial district. That was never a good thing...

She remained silent, not wanting to agitate him further. The man pulled up next to an old-looking building. It didn't look abandoned... perhaps the warehouse remained functional as a front for what actually went on there.

"The Green Bay warehouse?" she asked, hopefully loud enough for her phone to pick her voice up. "Why are you bringing me here?"

As far as he knew, she was just another one of Vladan's girlfriends... She might as well play dumb...

Skyler crossed her arms because she was cold. "Ugh it's cold out here!" she complained.

His car was destroyed. Vladan had parked by the edge of the ditch, and had hopped down to investigate the smoking wreckage. The sirens wailed noisily, and they were now much closer than they had been before. A helicopter flew by overhead, and Vladan groaned internally at his current situation.

His black vehicle was flaming, scratched and dented. Broken beyond repair he assumed. The man leaned in the driver's seat. No sign of Kita. "No blood as well...." He muttered. At least she was fine. For now, that is.

Several police cars pulled up besides the ditch, along with a firetruck. Vladan looked up from his place besides the car to meet gazes with several policemen.

"Hello officers. There seems to be a problem." Through many excuses, several made up stories, and a couple hundred dollar bills, he managed to escape heavy interrogation. Vladan headed back to his car, when suddenly...

A familiar voice rang out. It was a bit fuzzy, but he could make out what she was saying. The Greenbay Warehouse--he knew exactly where he was going to go. He turned up the volume of his phone, hoping to hear more.

"You keep your mouth shut!" The man yelled. He parked besides the building, and the doors were opened by outside hands. Several angry looking men surrounded the vehicle, all muscular and heavily tattooed. He stood and grabbed Kita roughly, pushing her into the center of the small group of men.

"Don't try anything." He commanded. As if to impose his threat, he nodded his head at the multitude of weapons arming the small group. The man turned to face forwards, when a glimmer coming from the woman's pocket caught his eyes. "What the..."

He reached over and snatched the phone angrily. The minuscule device was crushed under his large booted leg. "You won't be needing that."

Vladan could barely make out the exchange through the failing signal of Kita's phone, but her kidnapper was not alone and that was for sure. He wanted to head over and help her out, but the man was familiar with how her attackers acted. She would be handled roughly, but remain untouched. That gang was notorious for having hostages and requesting ransom, and Vladan would expect a call the following day.

But then again, he couldn't run into a large sum of armed men by himself, anyway. Vladan sighed before heading home. He dialed Dawn's cell phone number.

"Do you remember that idiot Russel and his gang of meatheads?" He asked.

"Of course I do." She replied in a singsong voice.

"We're going to pay him a lovely little visit."

Kita was tied to a pillar in the warehouse. Her phone was destroyed. She could only hope that Vladan had heard her...

Three of the thugs were enabled. One was a fire-type, the other two were unknown. Her hands were bound, so even if they got close enough, she wouldn't be able to mimic one of them.

There were twelve thugs total. Five non-enabled were out of her line of sight, but all of the enabled ones were sticking around to guard her.

She didn't know how willing Vladan would be to help her. He might just cut his losses and leave her to them...

"Do your job, pyromaniac." Russel said dismissively to the dark haired enabled absentmindedly playing with fire. "I have to set up the notice to be properly sent to Vladan."

The pyromancer rolled his eyes at Russel's constant demands. He had been working under and in this gang for several months now, and nothing had changed. It was a constant cycle of victims, then him interrogating the victim, then the victim being recieved once the ransom was accepted. He had an attitude issue, but was virtually irreplaceable so no one could say anything to him about it.

He stepped over to the tied up woman, leaning in close to her face as he examined her curiously. She gave off an aura of strenghth, though she was basically completely incapacitated. His amber eyes narrowed slightly before he opened his mouth to speak in a lazy drawl.

"What's your name?" He began. Almost as if to impose his power over her, he placed a hand above her shoulder, leaning over her body as he did so. Flames licked his arms, threatening to burn the woman. "Not like I care, but it's need to know information."

A pin could have dropped and been heard due to how quiet Vladan was being. Dawn sat across from him, and she stared curiously at his contemplating face. "What are you thinking about?" She asked. The woman tapped the table impatiently with her fingernails. "There's nothing we can do now anyway, we have to wait it out."

Vladan sighed, tussling his hair stressfully. "I suppose you're right. I can call up my people when the morning rolls around. Russel will probably send a note, or give a call tomorrow as well." He pursed his lips.

"What a joke..." The man muttered irritably. "Out of all the days he could have chosen to attack, he picked the one time Kita had stolen my car. I could have taken him out for good if I was there." He cracked his knuckles, and the sharp noise echoed around the room.

"Whatever." Vladan said. "Now I know where him and his crew is. I can take them out of the game for good."

Kita flinched at his touch. If only her hands were free... But even then, she could only copy his ability, not his resistance to his own flame...

"K-Kita." she said,moving as far away from the flame as she could in the restraints.

Whoever these guys were... they were dangerous, and she had no access to the one ability that she could use to defend herself...

"You flinch." He said wondrously, not realizing that his flames were the very reason she did so. "I've always found it sad when others flinch at touch. It usually means an abusive past." The fire retreaded to nothing and he stepped away from her. He turned towards the few men left in the room, before signaling them away. "Let Russel know her name." As everyone else trickled out of the room, he let out a yawn.

"What's your relationship with Veitkov?" He asked obnoxiously. "Girlfriend? Escort?" He chuckled at the last word. "You sure don't look like one."

"Neither." she said, then realizing that they might not keep her around if they didn't think she would be valuable. "I'm his sister. I was visiting my brother for the week."

Making herself valuable might buy her more time. Unless they knew his family, or one of the enables she couldn't identify was a mind-reader. Then she was in trouble.

"How 'bout you...?" she asked. "How'd my idiot brother get mixed up in all of this? What does he owe you?"

"A sister?" The arsonist raised his brows in surprise. "Never knew he had one." He muttered. "Newspapers and magazines never mentioned it, and you've never been seen in public either." He said doubtfully. "But I guess it's no big deal, celebrities' usually never bring their family anywhere. And I doubt he would mention you or your name to any of the mobs he's involved in." The man intertwined his hands as he paced in front of Kita. He shook his head at the woman's questions.

"It's just a simple game of who has the bigger ego, and who can do a better job proving it--he had a delivery due 2 weeks ago, and was late to hand it over. In turn, Rusell was late in handing his delivery over. Cat and mouse, a vicious cycle of kill or be killed."

"Your brother works a dangerous game, Kita. His temper has one of the shortest fuses in the entire business, and he refuses to pay attention to anyone else's needs and wants." He paused his pacing, before turning towards the woman once again.

"There's a lot of blood on his hands."

Chloe looked at where Skyler had been. She didn't trust her, but she also didn't care. "Sure, whatever, but if you ruin this, I promise you I will rip you to shreds." Chloe walked into the building. The lights seemed to be broken. "Sorry I'm late," she called into the darkness, "I ran into a... Friend."

Skyler follows Chloe into the building as quietly as possible. She looks around into the darkness and blinks a few times. As her eyes adjust to the darkness she can see a few silhouettes of objects.

"I've noticed that lately..." she muttered.

More than half of the thugs had weapons. Three female, four male, five still unseen. Other than the fire enabled, one of the enabled was male, one was female.

She needed all the information she could get, in case Vladan wasn't coming.

"So what happens now? How do I get out of this?"

A man stepped out of the darkness. "You said don't be late." Chloe smiled, "Correct, However, you did not." The man rolled his eyes. He came closer. "Do you have the package?"
"Of course I do. Ever met some one better at stealing than me?"
"I have to admit, no. I have your reward." Then man took out a brief case. He opened it up and showed Chloe the money. She smiled. Then she took her hand out of her pocket along with the diamond. She held it out.
"Here. And thanks for doing business." The man took the diamond. He handed her the suit case.
"My pleasure." Chloe gave a nod and walked out of the building.

Skyler stayed in the place with the guy. She watched him, planning to follow him until he set the diamond down. Once he sets it down, i will grab it and turn it invisible and run to the museum. she decided in her mind.

"Yes. I have it. Yes. No, no, it'll be back in the museum. Yeah, it's the big white one and I will be returning it. Ok bye." The man put the diamond in his pocket and walked out the back of the building.

Chloe took a right and headed towards her next destination.

"You don't!" The man said with a grin. Flames flitted around his arms as he spoke. He held out a hand, and fire bursted vertically from his open palm. "I absolutely adore the smell of burning flesh!" The man laughed maniacally, and several soldiers stared over at him in disappointment.

"You're pretty cute though, maybe Russel will let me keep you!" He laughed again, howling at his own words. Flames flickered around his body dangerously and the air grew warm from the blazing intruders.

Skyler followed the guy and slipped her hand in his pocket and grasped the diamond, turning it invisible. Thank goodness i did this when i was younger, i'm glad i practiced pick-pocketing! She held onto the diamond tightly and ran into the trees with her heart beating fast.

Chloe went to an apartment building and went to the top floor. She nervously paced the elevator as it went up. When the elevation opened, she was on the roof. "Lindsey? Are you here?"
A black haired woman walked into view. "Yes, do you have the money?"
"Yes."
"ALL of it."
"...no."
