Chloe's eyes widened. "F-five million?! Where-how-" she was dumbfounded. "Where did you get this? And why?" She stared at Skyler.

Skyler blushes. "I got this from returning the diamond." she answered. "I'm sharing it with you. Why don't we go inside and i can get the five million out for you?" she smiled at her. "So? Was this a big surprise?" she asks her. "I bet you didn't expect this!"

"Wait... you returned the diamond?" An idea came to her head, but she would worry about it later.
"Uh, why wouldn't I be surprised? That's a lot of money!" She unlocked her door and led Skyler inside. It was lightly messy, but otherwise ok. @lailaluckyseal87

"Yeah. Why?" Skyler asked walking inside. She set the suitcase down and opened it up. She grabbed rolls of a thousand bills and counted them out until she got 5 million. "There!" she said happily handing it to Chloe. "I need to give some to Kita also, if it wasn't for her i wouldn't have this money."

Chloe shrugged, "Just wondering." She took the 5 million gratefully. "Kita? Wow, haven't seen her for a while. You're joining the good side I see..." Chloe looked at Skyler, a little disgusted.

Chloe raised her eyebrow, "So not entirely turned yet. Well, good luck with the goody two shoes." Chloe pocketed the money. "Not sure yet," she lied. Chloe would meet up with Lindsey or Paul later but soon. She needed to turn in the money ASAP.

"Ok." Skyler says cheerfully. "I better get to where Kita was earlier, with that rich boy and that girl." she smiles. 'Wait! I just realized something! I'm rich too!" she laughs. "Bye Chloe!" she says closing the suitcase and carrying it out the door. She walks to Vladan's house smiling happily. When she gets there she knocks on the door and waits for a response.

Chloe smiled to herself when Skyler was gone. Poor kid, she thought to herself, I hope she doesn't think that if you turn good, everything in the world treats you good too. Chloe got up and walked over to her computer. The first thing that popped up was an article that the diamond was returned. She exited out of the tab and pulled up her email. Chloe emailed Paul to meet her in the park. Once she got the ok, Chloe headed out.

Skyler waited at Vladan's house for a few minutes. "Ugh." she said. "I guess they aren't home yet. Well.." she looked at the woods across the street. She ran into the woods and sat down humming to herself, waiting for them to return. She also drew in the mud with a stick to keep from being bored.

Two stared at Kita in surprise as the woman assisted her. She turned back to see her sister out cold on the concrete. "Help her!" The girl yelled at Dawn fearfully. Two reinforced the shield as Torch raged onwards. His flames continued their harassment on the barrier mercilessly, and the bullets continued to rain on the field. She turned over her shoulder one last time, this time to catch sight of Dawn struggling to lift One up.

"The plan was to come in and get you to safety before Vladan, Teiv and Jade killed everyone." She confessed. "It was a stealth and ambush mission, but we didn't expect to be spotted, and for Russel to have any enabled with him either."

Sousa released her wave of water. She watched in satisfaction as it roared towards Teiv's bloody form. "I hope you like getting wet!" The woman said cheerfully.

--

Jade saw the wave coming, and struggled to push Teiv's bloody body off of her. "I actually don't!" She retorted as she lifted up her hand and spread her fingers. The wave slowed to a stop as ice coated the surface of the water. Frost caged the wave, and it stopped midair, frozen in it's very own subzero prison.

Bullets flew through the air, and Jade lifted up her arms to form several thick walls of ice on the ground. The dangerous black spheres embedded into the ice with sharp thuds. Out of the corner of her eyes, she spotted Vladan heading away.

Turning to face Sousa once again, she swirled her fingers. Pointy shards of ice formed in midair, and with a sharp cry, Jade sent the blue blades flying towards the water controlling enabled.

"Torch!" The man stopped his relentless attack on the hooded figures and Kita when he heard a familiar voice call his name. Torch turned to see Sousa in the way of several icy projectiles.

"Not today!" He roared, as flames exploded from his palms and consumed the flying shards. Torch headed towards Jade, fire spewing from his arms. Magma slid from his back, making contact with and melting the frozen wave with a hiss and a cloud of mist.

"No one touches Sousa without touching me first!" Torch cried out.

Vladan ducked behind one of Jade's icy walls. He pulled out his gun and peered over the cold barriers. The man didn't bother to aim as he pulled the trigger multiple times, but he didn't have to when cries of pain echoed around the warehouse... Along with the sharp bangs of both his gun and the ones belonging to Russel's soldiers.

Torch stopped his assault to protect the water-type enabled. Kita saw their opportunity.

"We have to get to Dawn. We can give them a chance to get away." she said, seeing that the two were in bad shape. "We need to shield them."

Vladan was firing wildly at the other soldiers. He didn't want her around, but if she didn't help, none of them would get out... She was weak, but she could still help...

"Let's go then." Two said, as she released her shield in hopes that Kita could keep hers up. "We can alternate holding up the barrier." The girl grabbed Kita's hand before dashing over towards Dawn.

Dawn finally managed to sling One over her shoulder. She stumbled slightly, accidentally backing into the wall and crying out in pain as she hit the surface with her burned back. The woman saw Kita and Two, and made to motion them to get closer.

She was weak, but she had promised to get Kita out of here. At most, she could probably teleport herself and one other person out of the vicinity. Vladan had made her promise to keep Kita safe, but she knew that Two would never forgive her if One didn't make it out alive.

Shards of ice flew across the battlefield as bullets shattered what little cover he had from the cold walls. There were at least a dozen people already dead on the ground, but it seemed as if more people had been trickling into the building. He reloaded his gun, struggling slightly as he did so.

It was a losing battle.

Kita looked Dawn in the eye.

"Get her out of here if you can." she said, struggling to keep the barrier up. Even maintaining contact with the other girl, she was far from 100%...

She was bad, but the other girl was worse.

"Only come back if you feel like you're able. No sense getting everyone killed."

Dawn hesitated before nodding at Kita swiftly. The girl in her arms was small and skinny, but the woman was not strong. She struggled to keep her hold on One when she spoke next. "Don't die, or I'm dead too." She muttered as her vision faded in a glare of white and black.

She almost lost her balance when she regained her eyesight. The woman knelt down and dropped One on the ground--probably a bit too roughly for the poor girl's condition, but Dawn couldn't help it.

The woman sat back, taking a few heavy breaths as she did so. In the distance, she could spot smoke spiraling from what she assumed was the warehouse. It wouldn't be long until the police showed up.

Before Two had the chance to thank Dawn for bringing her sister to safety, another rain of bullets shattered against the barrier. Two forced a small smile towards Kita. "You are a good woman." She mumbled quietly before turning to face the fight once again.

Soldiers were dropping like flies, though there was at least a dozen of armed personnel roaming the warehouse. Most kept under cover, reaching out only to shoot at Vladan, Jade, Two and Kita.

Other than that, they were too afraid to get in the crossfire of Torch's flames, Jade's blizzard, and Sousa's roaring water.

Jade struggled in her fight against Torch. There was nothing she could do to him. For every shard of ice she summoned in the air in an attempt to hit the man, it was incinerated by his return fire.

She summoned another barrier of ice in front of her, just in time to block a hail of bullets.

Kita flinched as a bullet found its way through a weak spot in the barrier, inches from her leg.

"Don't thank me yet..." she said. "We're not out of this mess."

She looked over at the others and the quickly melting shield of ice. It wasn't going to hold much longer... And she wasn't either.

"There was a third enabled here... I don't see him and I don't know what his power is, so be careful. But we have to get the other three out of here..." she said. "Any ideas?"

There were only several foot soldiers left. The rest had either fled out of fear, or were dying slowly on the floor, if not dead already. Jade looked up at the roof when she heard a loud crack. A giant chunk of the roof had fallen. She lifted up her arm, forming a crescent shaped wall over her body to protect herself from the burning wood.

The building was falling apart, if not from the bullets decorating the wall like leopard skin, it was from Torch's fiery attacks. She cowered in fear, as the pieces of the roof collapsed on top of her icy shield. The woman forced another layer up, relieved that the ice had held when suddenly--

Flames spewed in her direction, consuming her makeshift shield. It consumed the ice, and her barrier dissolved in a cloud of smoke. The woman let out a sharp cry as the chunks of material fell on her body, forcing her on the ground. Fire licked at her body, and the destroyed roof crushing her body.

Two glanced over at Jade's attempts at defending herself, wincing as she was forced to the ground from the collapsed roof.

"Teiv will be fine." She mumbled. "We can come back for him later. Let's go for Jade first. I don't know where Vladan has gone."

Kita nodded and the two moved towards the fallen girl. The two dug up the rubble, slowly uncovering her.

It wasn't good.

Kita turned to her companion and let go of her arm, grabbing Jade's.

"Get her out of here. If you go quickly, your shield should hold up. I'll cover you. You have three minutes. I'm going to try something crazy, but it will only last that long."

Before the other girl could respond, she raised her hands. Rather than building a shield or attacking, she made a thick mist of sharp ice crystals, making sure to keep the girls' escape clear. It wasn't enough to do much damage, but it was enough that no one would want to keep their eyes open for too long.

"Go!" she yelled. "You don't have much time."

Jade's eyes widened in surprise at Kita's usage of her powers. Before she could say anything, the small figure grabbed her arm and tugged at the woman. Jade followed the hooded figure, wincing in pain with every step she took. She put her hands around her waist, and could feel warm liquid trickling from several open wounds.

Not only that, her arms hurt from the burns Torch had given her throughout the drawn out fight. Still, she urged herself onwards as they exited the building. The woman felt her arm being tugged, and quickened her pace.

The two of them ran for a long time, even after they had left the burning warehouse. Down a cracked street, around a corner, and through a mess of scorched trees. Jade stopped, breathing heavily from the workout.

"Can we please...?" Jade asked hesitantly.

"For a little bit only."

"Thank you." The woman replied as she collapsed onto the ground in a sitting position.

Vladan had chased down the last of the human soldiers outside of the back entrance. He showed no mercy as he shot the man down. Vladan wiped the sweat off his brow as he checked the amount of bullets left in his gun. Only one more.

"I'd better make it count."

As soon as the words escaped his mouth, he felt a cold layer of water splash across his back. Vladan was knocked to the ground, his gun sliding across the ground and getting lost in a large puddle of water. He turned to see Sousa, water swirling around her fingertips.

"I'm not scared of water." The man laughed as he ran at the woman.

Sousa cried out in terror as Vladan knocked her into a wall. She felt his hands wrap around her throat, and she choked. Her eyes teared up, and the water she was wielding splashed to the ground as Sousa's mind weakened from the lack of air.

"Don't worry, beautiful." She cringed at his words, whimpering as he continued to speak. "You won't die yet... I'll make Torch finish you off."

Vladan used his hand to force her chin up. His stormy eyes dropped onto hers, and he pushed past her thoughts and instead gazed into her pupils.

"I want you to kill Torch." He released his grip slowly as Sousa's eyes converted from hazel to a bright red.

Torch covered his eyes, taking several large steps back in surprise. Now this was something he had never seen before. It took him a few minutes to prepare his tired body again, but when he did, his flames roared higher than ever.

"I REFUSE TO LET YOU WIN." He screamed. Pillars of flame exploded from the ground, and the warehouse shook as if in pain from the way it's interior was being treated.

Kita could feel the ice power dissipating.

No... Not now...

It hadn't even been three minutes... Clearly in her weakened state, the time she could keep the power had been cut. She shot a quick glance behind her. At least the other two had gotten out. She needed to get to cover...

Using the last seconds of the ice shards as a smokescreen, she hid behind a pile of rubble, leaning back on it. She had used up the last of her energy... If she couldn't keep up one mimic for three minutes, she probably couldn't manage another one...

Even her sensory power was weak at best. She could sense someone enabled approaching, but she couldn't tell who it was.

She laid back, waiting to find out.

Torch angrily shot fire, watching as the walls began to crumble under the heat. There was a figure heading towards him. Through his rage, he hadn't even bothered to check whether the person was friend or enemy. Fire spewed towards the silhouette.

"Sousa?" He said in surprise as his flames were intercepted by a fountain of water. The fire encircling his hands retreaded significantly when he recognized the woman's moving form."Do you know where Kita went?" He asked.

"Sousa?" Torch asked again as the woman stepped closer towards him. "Are you oka--" The man was cut off as a wave of water hit him. He was knocked to the ground, sputtering as he coughed up water.

The man looked up in confusion. He made to stand, only to be knocked down again, this time from the force of Sousa's body.

A slender figure approached her. It was a man... One she had only seen on passing the last two days.

The third enabled...

He didn't say a word. He just stared at her. Kita could do nothing but stare back. He raised his hand and she stood. Not of her own choice...

"You..."

He said nothing, but forced her to walk along with him.

"My name is Puppet." The voice came from her own throat, harsh and forced. The man hadn't moved his mouth, and seemed to be using her to speak. She noticed the burn marks around his mouth. Maybe he couldn't...

"Russell." He called out, using her mouth. "I've got the girl."

She swung at him with her fist, but he stopped it short of his face. He didn't have total control... Just enough that she was like a human doll. A doll that could think and move on its own, but who could be manipulated at will...

Torch was terrified. He felt his back hit the ground, and water sprayed in every direction as he landed in the puddle. There was a glint of steel that the man could only make out because of the flames licking the walls. He opened his mouth to speak but...

It burned. The knife didn't burn like how his eternal flames did, but it hurt like nothing he had ever felt before. Torch wasn't sure if it was the feeling of betrayal that left him in pain, or the blade lodged into his abdomen.

He coughed.

The blade was wrenched out, and he could feel the blood flow freely. He reached up a shaking hand, and he placed it on Sousa's cold cheek.

"What are you doing?" Torch whispered in between breaths.

No reply.

There was another flash of steel, and his hand dropped from her face to where the new wound bloomed on his chest. Torch tried.

He really did.

But he couldn't bring himself to do it.

The last of his flames flickered away and his breathing slowed significantly.

Before the dark consumed him, he managed to catch Sousa's gaze.

"I never... noticed that... before..." Torch forced out. "You... have the most... striking... red eyes..."

Russel stopped his energetic pacing to turn towards Puppet and ultimately, Kita. The man stared at the virtually destroyed warehouse, watching as fire consumed the building. He opened the door to his dark blue sports car.

"Get in with the girl." He said emotionlessly.

Sirens wailed in the distance.

Kita walked involuntarily towards the vehicle and climbed in, with Puppet climbing in after.

"So what's the plan now, boss?" Puppet asked through Kita. "You gonna keep trailing the girl around with us or are we getting rid of her?"

Her head turned towards him.

"Torch is right... You are pretty..." 'He' said, tracing her chin with his finger. "Such a shame..."

The others are safe. She reminded herself. That's all that matters.

Russel started up the engine of the car. "You can have her once we're done here." He said bluntly. "I'm sure you can take care of her... She's probably no different than any of the other ones."

Vladan struggled to his feet, ignoring the pulsing pain erupting from his eyes. He moved away from the building, but it was already too late. Flames ate at his clothing and the man shoved his arm into a puddle of water to put out the fire. The loud noise of an engine starting knocked him back to reality.

Kita... Where was Kita?

The man staggered over to his car, pulling the door open swiftly. Russel's blue vehicle swerved around the warehouse, and he stamped on the gas just as the other car charged through the open gate.

Vladan's car roared as he stomped on the gas pedal. It was a dangerous game he was playing, but the man sped up towards Russel's vehicle. He rolled down his window, sticking his arm out and pulling the trigger of his gun blindly while attempting to steer with his other hand.

"Wait until... I get my hands... On you..." He threatened under his breath.

The sound of gun fire didn't seem to phase Puppet. He smiled, putting his arm around her shoulder. She pushed him away, which only made his smile wider.

"No complaints here." 'He' said, pulling her back towards him. "Just let me know if you change your mind."

The car swerved as Russell dodged traffic. Puppet held her hand, forcing her to reciprocate the gesture.

She looked down at their joined palms. She still felt weak, but maybe, even for a moment...

She focused on mimicking him. She could feel already that it would only be momentary, but...

She forced Russell's hands to jerk the steering wheel to the right, into the path of a tree and then forced Puppet away from her.

"She's enabled!" 'Puppet' yelled, struggling to regain control over both himself and Kita. "Orders, boss?"

The impact was almost immediate. There was no way Russel could regain control of the vehicle, considering how fast they were going. The car hit the true hard, and Russel felt his entire body being thrown back. He forced himself put of his daze.

"You're useless!" The man yelled at Puppet. Russel forced the car door open, before staggering out. He pulled Kita's door open, before roughly dragging her out. The man held his elbow around her neck in a near chokehold as he held a gun against her head.

Vladan's car screeched to a halt near the side of the road. He stopped besides the wreckage of Russel's vehicle, stepping out just in time to see Russel press a gun against Kita's head.

"Now that's just not fair!" He exclaimed in an annoyed tone when the man noticed Russel's shades. "I see you'be learned your lesson." The man cocked his gun, but remained a dozen feet away from Kita and Russel. "But that doesn't matter anymore." Vladan said bluntly.

"You die now."

Russel choked on his own laughter. "If I die, I'm bringing her down with me!" He yelled through his throaty chuckles. The man glanced towards the car, wondering if Puppet would help the situation--if he was even alive at all.

Puppet climbed out of the car, enjoying the scene.

"Now now, Russell." He said through Kita. "We came for Vladan, right? Here he is. Let's point that gun somewhere useful..."

Kita reached up, grabbing the gun and pointing it at Vladan.

Puppet smiled, walking up to Kita's side, wrapping his arm around her, easing her from Russel's grip. Kita looked up at Vladan. His eyes were bloodshot. He'd used his power again...

Vladan... It isn't me...

"No sense damaging this pretty lady here if we don't have to." 'Puppet' laughed. Keeping the gun pointed at Vladan, he leaned down and kissed her. Kita maintained eye contact with Vladan.

Vladan... Please...

Vladan's finger tightened on the trigger when Puppet forced Kita to raise the gun. He averted eye contact with her, instead focusing on Puppet. The kiss was what set him off, and later on the man would probably wonder why.

But right now, he didn't care.

Vladan shifted the gun sideways and pulled the trigger.

He didn't care.

Before the bullet could hit it's mark, he sent another 2 towards Puppet and Kita.

He didn't care.

Puppet fell first, struck in the abdomen. His control broken, Kita dropped the gun. She thought that it would hurt. No... She just felt numb.

She collapsed like a rag doll. Her eyes still on Vladan.

"Vladan... It... Wasn't... Me..."

She felt light-headed. She didn't know where she'd been hit, but she didn't care.

"Vladan... I'm sorry..."
