Skyler glances at them worriedly as they run away. She jogs away back into the forest and digs up her suitcase. Clutching the handle tightly she sits down exhausted, deciding to wait a while before going inside to give Kita the money. She looks at the suitcase and counts the money. "2 billion." she whispers. "That means I have to give Kita 5 million and I will have 1.5 billion. Yay!!" she smiles to her self happily.@bunnyshadow @dada_dragon

Kita nodded. Grabbing two of the cases, she walked back up to the house. She opened the door, setting them in the entryway. She had closed her eyes when told, and she didn't want to know what he was hiding. She had enough stress in her life at the moment... She didn't need more. She stood outside of the car, waiting for Vladan. She stared ahead, not wanting to think about anything. She didn't know why she accepted Vladan's offer. She didn't want to talk to anyone but James...This was going to be a long car ride...@bunnyshadow

@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan wiped the blood off the seat. He couldn't help but be glad that most of it had puddled on the ground, and the man threw a old dress shirt on the floor of his car. He placed another, unused towel on the seat, carefully folding it out so that none of the blood would get on the seat of his pants. Vladan worked methodically--this wasn't the first time he'd had done this. The man motioned for Kita to get in, pushing a button on the side of his door that would open hers. Vladan was much too lazy to open it for her, and didn't feel like readjusting the cloths again once he stood."Where are we going?" He asked.

Kita climbed into the passenger side, not making eye contact. She couldn't look him in the eye... She couldn't look at him the same way as she used to... Not after seeing the pure hatred in his eyes as he raised his gun and...Realizing that she hadn't answered his question, she mumbled "South Gate Penitentiary..."She used to feel ashamed any time she had to explain that her boyfriend was an inmate... She didn't care anymore, and cared even less at that moment.@bunnyshadow

@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan slammed his foot on the brakes and his car jolted to a heavy halt. There was honking coming behind him, but he didn't care. The man turned to face Kita, with a raised eyebrow and a small chuckle. "I've been there." He said before stepping on the gas. "In fact, I just pulled Dawn out of there before you totaled my car and nearly got yourself killed." Vladan muttered under his breath. "I was about to go there again today. Someone I wanted to see..." He trailed off before giving Kita a sideways glance. "I need a few new recruits considering how both the twins and Jade have gone missing.""Teiv should be fine though." He said with a shrug. "His regenerative abilities are beautiful. Makes for an amazing bodyguard and meat shield. It's a shame he can still feel pain." Vladan laughed as he pulled into the area the prison was located. He headed towards a gated area, though was allowed in by a simple card that he showed the security."Can't use valet..." He murmured. "Not with all the money in the back and blood on the seats." Vladan said sarcastically. "I'm sure you aren't missing out though, normal people don't even get valet."The man parked near a wall, keeping far from any other vehicles in the area. He stepped out and rounded the car, pulling open Kita's door with a gentlemanly bow that probably looked silly considering how much she knew about him."Let's get going. I have someone I want to talk to and so do you." He adjusted the watch on his wrist as he spoke. "Take as much time as you want, I can get you a free pass for today. Or anytime, if you mention my name." He bragged.

Kita ignored him, walking right past him without speaking. She didn't have the energy for his on/off gentlemanly attitude. She just needed James...Not bothering to check if Vladan was still behind her, she walked into the main building, heading straight for security clearance."Kita Avonlea Altobelli." She said, passing the officer her ID, which she had thankfully left in her sweater at the house during the kidnapping...The officer smiled. "Kita. I was wondering when you'd be back. You didn't come for the longest time."She nodded, putting her things through the X-ray machine and stepping through the security gate. No alarms."You alright?" The officer asked, handing her her things."Yeah... It's just been a long few days..." She said. It wasn't a lie... "I just need to see James... Can I talk to him for s while?""Of course." The officer said. I'll just have Officer Kate bring you down to the visiting room."@bunnyshadow

@dada_dragon ~~~"That woman has an attitude..." Vladan muttered under his breath with narrowed eyes. He watched as she went ahead without him, and rolled his eyes as she spoke to the officer. The man instead moved to speak to the man with the desk job. "I'd like to speak to Gerald." Vladan said. "Give him my name, I'm sure he'll recognize it."He took a moment to pause as the officer left to speak to request for Vladan's visit, and he tapped his fingers impatiently against the smooth surface of the desk.

@bunnyshadow @dada_dragon @lailaluckyseal87 Jean shifted her duffel bag on her shoulder, moving the strap which had slowly slipped, back up to her neck. The bags contents jostled around causing the water bottles inside to slosh. "Can't believe how warm out it has been lately." Miasma chirped as they strolled through the streets. He was right, the sun had been keeping the city at an uncomfortable temperature as of late."I know." Jean said with a small nod of agreement.Unsatisfied with the brief response that he has gotten, Miasma pressed the conversation further. "I always love going on patrols with you, I guess it makes me feel proud about my magnificent gifts."Jean failed to hold in a snicker, "This isn't a 'patrol'. We're handing out snacks and water." He always got so carried away. But she couldn't really condemn him for his enthusiasm. In fact, that mutual enthusiasm for helping others was what had led to the unlikely duo forming in the first place. Although they had tried to remain in the cool shadows of the high buildings for the most part, Jean could still feel the back of her shirt becoming damp with sweat. She was quite glad that she had been able to dissuade Miasma from wearing his makeshift costume in the daylight. Instead the pair wore their street clothes to avoid drawing attention. As they passed a woman sitting against a building, her belongings in a cart beside her, they stopped, and Miasma greeted her kindly. Jean dropped her bag to the ground and unzipping it, retrieved a couple bags of rice crisps, an apple and a water bottle. The woman smiled gratefully at the offering."You two are the first people I've spoken to all day. And such kind young people you are. I dare say, the city needs more young folk like you."Jean voiced a simple, "You are very welcome. We are just glad to help."They bid the woman farewell and wished her a safe day before walking on. Jean caught Miasma's face as she looked back to see if he was following and noticed him grinning ear to ear. "What a sweet lady." He said noticing Jean's gaze and jogging to her side. "We should definitely come by later tonight and drop off a couple blankets to her while we are on patrol."Jean nodded, "We can stop by the second hand store on our way back to my place." Miasma gave a cheerful whoop and swung his bag cheerfully. "Lets stop for lunch." She said, noticing the sweat beading on his forehead, "It will be good to get out of the sun for a bit. I know a great bistro up ahead."

Kita followed the officer to an open room. James hadn't arrived yet. There were two inmates in there already, one with his girlfriend/wife and the other with his wife and three kids, one of whom was showing his father a rather interesting doodle of a man in what she could only guess was a cape or cloak. The inmate sitting with his family caught her eye. He waved."Kita! S'been a while! Staying out of trouble?"Kita forced a smile. "Yeah... Been a long week."He smiled and turned back to his kids. "You look terrible."Kita turned around to see James immediately behind her. "I feel terrible" she admitted, grabbing a seat. James followed suit, reaching over to hold her hands. She appreciated the gesture, but she was far too worn down to reciprocate his enthusiasm to see her."What's wrong?" He asked"Something happened..."She began explaining what had happened, leaving out details that he didn't need to know... Vladan being one of those things...James gripped her hands tighter. "I thought you weren't going to get involved in this anymore."She shook her head. "I wasn't. I was driving a girl to the hospital."But what about Vladan...? She'd gotten herself involved in that life, hadn't she?"Are you okay?" He asked."No." She said honestly.Would she ever be okay again?James' hands were shaking. "I should have been there for you.""James... There was nothing you could do about it..."James sighed. "I just want to be able to protect you...""I know."@bunnyshadow

@dada_dragon ~~~He shook hands with the man currently in charge with heading the establishment. It wasn't a very friendly handshake, a bit stiff and of course a battle of who has more power."It's been a while, Mr. Veitkov."Vladan chuckled lightly as he took a seat across from the other man. "There's somebody I'm seeking to release. I'd like to see his information sheets.""Who might you be talking about?""A young man by the looks of it. Around his 20s from what I can tell. I saw him down the hall with the other enabled folk when I was taking Dawn Liandrea out several weeks ago." Vladan leaned back in the chair and he folded his hands together. "Looked as if he had just gotten himself out of a fight. A bit tussled, and a lot roughed up. Had a cut on his person, that he managed to heal himself.""I believe I do know who you're talking about. It's a large prison filled with many convicts, but there's only one healer here." Vladan watched as he stood up and headed to a cabinet, fingering through some files before pulling out a cream colored folder. The other man placed it heavily on the table, before pushing it towards Vladan."Is this what you're looking for?"Glad an reached for the files, before opening it with a slick smile. He pulled out the first paper. It included simple information.... Name, Age, Gender... And most importantly, a picture. The man moved the paper aside before picking up the second of the file. This one had photographs of the Enabled using his powers."Exactly it." Vladan replied.

Kita and James sat side by side on the table's bench. He had moved from the seat across from her to be closer. Her head was resting on his shoulder and he was rubbing her back in an attempt to comfort her."So what are you going to do now?" He asked. She shook her head. "I don't know. I can barely process any of it... I can't deal with this..." She confided. "I used to think we were the toughest ones out there, but... I could have died... I almost did..."James leaned over to kiss her. Kita tensed up, Puppet immediately coming to mind. James stopped, looking back at her."Sorry. I didn't mean to..." He said.Kita was crying. Not sure what to do, he held her hand again."It's not you..." She said quietly. "Ever since I got out... Things just seem to trigger me... Things that remind me of..."Of Puppet. Why him? Why not Russell or Torch? Why was it always Puppet?@bunnyshadow

@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan moved on to the next paper, flipping through the pile impatiently. "James Miles..." He trailed off as he returned the first paper to the top of the pile. "It says here that he got arrested after some sort of fight on the street involving him and other Enabled." Vladan stated. "Do you know if it was gang affiliated?" He questioned."It was assumed so, but the authorities could not confirmed if he himself was in the gang itself, but he was definitely helping out and was involved for sure."Vladan dropped the stack of papers back on top of the manila folder. He pulled out one of the photographs from the top of the pile, unclipping it from it's place on the paper. "I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to keep this." The man said as he placed the photograph in the inside pocket of his suit jacket. "Do you know where he is right now?" Vladan asked. The manager shrugged. "Probably back in his cell, doing whatever the heck these sleazy criminals do nowadays. Sitting around, sleeping...." He trailed off. "Why?"Vladan pursed his lips, and he leaned against the back of his chair, tipping it back lightly. "I want to speak to him." He said. "How much to pull him out of here under contract of me? I need several people in replacement of a few..." Vladan trailed off. "Deceased."The corrupt manager seemed deep in thought, before he spoke next. He wrote a number on a slip of paper, before sliding it over to Vladan. "I'm gonna need this much. This is a healer we're talking about."Vladan rolled his eyes. "Consider it done." He glanced over at the wall clock. "Once I speak to him that is. I have all the files prepared already, from my previous... clients." "I'll have him called in now." The other man said as he stood.Vladan got to his feet as well, before placing a hand roughly on the significantly shorter man's shoulder. "Just let him know that an old friend wants to speak to him, I don't want any unwanted names being thrown around." He said lowly. His eyes flashed dangerously in the dim light, and he smiled brightly at the other man's stiff nod."Thank you." Vladan said.

"I'm sorry, but we're going to have to cut your visit short."One of the officers- one Kita didn't recognize- interrupted them. It was a middle-aged man who seemed very no-nonsense."Is there any chance we could have a few more minutes?" Asked James. The officer shook his head, holding out a pair of handcuffs. James reluctantly stood up, turning his back to the officer and holding out his hands behind him."I'll come back tomorrow if I can." She said as he was being lead away. "I'll see you later..."The door closed behind him before he could respond. Officer Kate gave her a sympathetic smile before escorting her back to the front desk.Kita sat down in one of the chairs, waiting for Vladan to return.. The officer at the desk asked if she wanted coffee or something, which she gratefully accepted.@bunnyshadow

@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan began speaking the second the door had been cracked open by the officer--the man didn't even give James a second to sit down and take in his surroundings before words began to exit Vladan's smirking mouth."Hello, James." Vladan said as he motioned towards the chair ahead of him, across from the table he currently sat behind. Usually, the man would greet a future partner with a handshake, but Vladan refused to shake hands with criminal filth.... Criminal filth that managed to get caught that is."How are you enjoying life here in the South Gate Penitentiary?" Vladan asked with a sly grin. He already knew the answer, the question was all but rhetorical, and simply served as an opening statement to his next words. There was no hesitation, no fear. James was a healer, and Vladan was not afraid of any healer... At those thoughts, he paused. Vladan supposed Willow was an exception, but none of the files had ever spoken anything about life draining abilities."You would probably enjoy life a lot more outside of this gray, invasive cinderblock, wouldn't you?" He asked. "I'm sure you have family, friends..." Vladan trailed off. "Perhaps even a girlfriend you would like to live with and care for that you currently can't because of your immediate situation.""I can help you with that." Vladan said. "I offer you a deal.""A request I'm sure you're willing to take to heart."

James looked the man over. He was dressed like a businessman, but he acted like a classic villain... The man's eloquent speech seemed to hide a dangerous side... This guy had crime boss written all over him.He didn't look physically intimidating, with the possible exception of the facial scar, so he either had intimidating backup or he was enabled... James was betting on the latter, considering he'd come alone. He considered the offer briefly, thinking about being free to be with Kita, but he knew better. 'Freedom' never really meant 'freedom' with these people. They preyed on the desperate and fed them lies until they had no other way out.And how could he accept when he had just warned Kita away from this lifestyle?"I'm sorry, but I can't accept your offer." he said. "I don't work for people like you."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 2 May 2016 at 4:09 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan arched his brow at the man's response. "People like me?" He forced out through grit teeth. "It's people like me that keep the world going round." He said as he tapped his fingers impatiently against the top of the table. "I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say." Vladan said with a stiff smile. He intertwined his hands then placed his chin on top of his fingers, before releasing his grip on himself and leaning back against the chair once again. "Your release from this place can be arranged by the end of the week. Any debts on your person will be lifted. You can live life almost luxuriously... Beautiful woman, and an even more beautiful lifestyle."Vladan straightened the papers in front of him, before flipping the stack and pushing it across the table. "You serve under me for a short period of time, and once you've completed your time I can gift you immunity against the law in this country.""I'm a businessman, James. I'm sure you've heard of me, even from what little touch you have with the outside world." He paused as he slid his card across the table. "Vladan Veitkov. Head of a private military corporation. Your job will be a hundred and ten percent safe... Taking your healing into consideration." Vladan gave the other man an attempt at a warm smile, but instead it seemed as if the grin leeched what little warmth actually was in the room."I was like you once, James... But now, you can be like me."
dada_dragon • 2 May 2016 at 4:42 PM
James looked away. To be with Kita..."Yes, I've heard of you." He said simply. "And not just what the newspapers say... The people around here have a lot to say about you, and most of it isn't good..."He turned back to him, looking him in the eye."Let me be perfectly clear... I have no intention of getting involved in your dirty work. You can offer me whatever you want, but that life was what got me here in the first place..." He frowned. "And I have someone to think of... I can't get back into this business... For her sake."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 2 May 2016 at 5:05 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan scoffed, but looked up to meet James's gaze. The man leaned forward, and his angry frown tilted up into a malicious grin. "Didn't your parents ever teach you?" Vladan asked slyly. He paused now, and his eyes flashed evilly under the bright light hanging dangerously low over the table."Never look your superiors in the eye." The man grinned now, before reaching out and grabbing James's wrist. He slammed the other man's arm on the table, forcing him to gaze up into Vladan's eyes as they faded from silver to red."You're going to sign these papers." Vladan said viciously. "Whether you want to or not. I'm giving you a choice right now..." He trailed off menacingly. "And I'm sure you would prefer that over what happens in the latter."Vladan tightened his grip on James's wrist. "I'm going to ask you again.""Do you accept my offer?"
dada_dragon • 2 May 2016 at 5:50 PM
A strange feeling overcame James."Of course." he said, reaching for the papers. Grabbing the pen, he signed them without reading through any of it.He handed the papers back to Vladan, his movements guided by the odd feeling that was coursing through him like it was in his blood...He wasn't sure why he was doing it, but every fiber of his being was telling him that he wanted this. He was confused by his own decision, but he shoved the suspicion aside."There you go... Mr. Vietkov."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 2 May 2016 at 6:47 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~"Thank you James." Vladan said with a grin. "I'm sure you'll enjoy your time with me." The man said in a low voice. He picked up the papers, before shoving them inside the manila folder that housed the rest of James's information. Vladan got up to his feet and glanced at his watch."I've got somebody waiting for me. Time is of the essence." He knew that the slight control of mind would wear off soon, and James would like to speak to him about the papers so Vladan knew it was best to leave as soon as possible. The man signaled the officer to enter the room, before pulling his jacket on swiftly. "I'll have an officer drop off a copy of your contract to you tonight, and I'll be back for your by the end of this week."He gave an appreciative nod at the officer that had politely pulled the door open to Vladan. He turned over his shoulder and gave an arrogant, but slightly halfhearted wave at James."I look forward to working with you."

Kita tapped the side of her chair impatiently, sipping her coffee. Vladan was taking his time... She grabbed a newspaper, flipping through the pages. She nearly dropped it when confronted with an image of Puppet.Local Man Missing- Foul Play SuspectedFolding the paper over so that she didn't have to look at his face, she skimmed through the article. Evidently he was a 'troubled youth' who had been mute since his mouth was burned in an accident (from her experience, 'accident' seemed synonymous with 'Torch').It was difficult to feel sympathy for him. Had Vladan killed him? Probably. That whole night was a blur... Kita closed the newspaper. Puppet had family looking for him... @dada_dragon ~~~Vladan moved towards Kita. He placed a heavy hand on her chair, before giving her a thin smile at how well the proceedings had been. "Are you hungry?" The man asked, jingling his car keys in his pocket as he spoke. "What's your favorite type of food?" He asked. "I can take you to any restaurant you want."Vladan stepped towards the door, opening it with the weight of his body and letting her step through, before allowing it to swing shut.

"I'm not hungry..." She said. She looked up at him and noticed his eyes were bloodshot again. "Looks like you were doing a little more than just visiting..."She had dropped her usual patronizing tone, her comment sounding more like a casual observation than an accusation. She didn't seem to have the energy for it anymore. Not since...She held out her hand. "You shouldn't drive like that... Just tell me where to go..."@bunnyshadow
bunnyshadow • 3 May 2016 at 2:11 PM
@dada_dragon ~~~Vladan hesitated when Kita held out her hand. The man honestly wasn't sure whether he could trust her with any of his vehicles anymore, considering what had happened the last time she had made contact with one of his cars in general. Nonetheless, he was not in the mood to sit behind the wheel, so he handed her the keys without so much of a sigh. "Well..." He trailed off. "I was hoping to have a shopping day because I have a day off work today." "I'd like to take a look around for a new car, since my other one is destroyed." He said in an accusatory tone of voice. "I heard there have been some new models lately for the brands I like." The man glanced over at Kita before continuing. "And you can't forget that I need a few new pairs of clothing considering how the other ones are all stained and one of them is lost somewhere in central park."
dada_dragon • 3 May 2016 at 3:13 PM
Kita looked back at Vladan, sighing."Look... I already told you... I couldn't care less about your car... Or your suit... Or any of that..." She said. "Just..."She turned away.
