At the waterfall he skidded to a halt and glanced wildly around. ``Ripple!`` he called. ``Where---`` he was interrupted as a giant wolf sprang from a bush and pinned his chest, snarling.

Oak didn't notice Night as he pummeled at the wolf's underbelly, claws unsheathed. He hooked them into soft fur and clawed continually until it began to shrink away, whimpering loudly. Oak leaped up and clawed at its face, then noticed that Ripple was hidden in the bushes, her leg caught clamped in the jaws of a much larger wolf, powerful muscles rippling under its body. Oak let out a fierce battle cry as he hurtled himself at the wolf, and was frazzled for a moment as it didn't budge. It was like hitting a tree. The wolf then suddenly lashed out with a hind paw, which hit him hard thoroughly in the chest. He fell backwards, gasping for breath, and the wolf thrust Ripple into a tree, knocking her unconscious. Oak bared his teeth at the wolf as it crept up to him in a crouching position, huge amber eyes glaring.

The eyes reminded him of the eagle that had attacked him. Given a huge adrenaline by the memory, he kicked at the wolf's chest before it could attack and ripped its ear with his teeth, spitting it out of his mouth. Before the wolf could react he then clawed at its neck while he had caught it by surprise.

River slipped under the wolf, clawing its underbelly.

~~

Stream was not focused on the battle. Before long, he found himself with a nasty scratch. Quickly, he dived under the wolf and scratched its foreleg.

Oak hadn't realized the other wolf and he bounded over to Ripple, rolling her over and prodding her anxiously with his muzzle. As she didn't respond, he worriedly grabbed her by the scruff and carried her back to the clearing. He carefully dropped her and leaped at the wolf attacking the others as he saw it. But as he ran he began to notice a searing pain throbbing on his side and found himself on the ground before long. There was a large, deep gash on his side, where the wolf's hind claws had tore off flesh.

``Forgot?`` he narrowed his eyes suspiciously and paid no more attention to Night as he watched the battle draw to an end when the wolf began to flee.

River watched the fleeing wolves, the she padded towards Stream. "Are you okay?" she asked gently.
~
Stream nodded as he licked the wound, noticing a scab started to form.

Oak crawled up to Ripple and prodded her cheek with his muzzle. She gasped, her eyes flinging open, and began to cough. Her side began heaving with pressure, and Oak instantly knew she was much more injured than he. He looked around, clawing the ground desperately. Did any of these cats know how to treat wounds? As he glanced back at Ripple, he realized how fatal the wound could be. If she wasn't tended to soon, she might even die.

River looked worryingly at Ripple. She didn't know how to treat wounds, her adoptive mother never really touched up on herbs. Just know the basic, she'd always said. Cobwebs and marigold, comfrey and chervil. All for treating wounds on the outside. Sighing, she glanced at Pond, who seemed calm for the most part.
~
Pond stared at Ripple. Hopefully she's alright she thought. She glanced around, most of the cats traveling with her seemed fine, with minimal injuries.

Ripple's body convulsed and blood gurgled from her mouth. She then lay still once more, eyes shut, once more unconscious. Oak sighed and nodded lightly. ``Get some rest,`` he murmured. He then stood and staggered off to collect herbs, anything he could find, not only for Ripple, but for the whole traveling group.

Oak scraped a cobweb from a low-hanging branch on a tree then snatched up some plants that looked somewhat like lamb's ear, then picked a clump of foul-smelling plants, and another of pretty decent and comforting scents.

His side stung as he continued to walk further this time, and he winced as when he stepped on a stick, it cracked under his paw-pad and three splinters were caught in that paw. He limped a little further and found Night and Shady, one of the only healthy cats that had refused to leave, stood in a small clearing of the trees.

-Shady then grabbed night by the tail swinging her on his back- ``....``

Oak dug his claws into the ground. ``Who are you?`` he growled, ignoring a sharp stab of pain as his scar retaliated. His stick-like tail stuck in the air alarmingly, his pelt bristling.

-Night hissed crawling on shady's head knocking him down-

``I always though you we're under weight `` -as he fell-
