Yes- the reasoning for this is because we all knew that it would be incredibly hectic in these last few minutes. If someone had to ping every person they outbid, it could cause them to not submit their bid in time.

Even before, some people weren't pinging the person they outbid, so while it is annoying, it was to be expected honestly.
