"I hope so." Irvin says. He swam up to the base of the volcano.

Neraiya followed Irvin to the volcano.

Irvin swims through one of the caves, which had small streaks of lava that lit up the cavern. They weren't big enough to do much more than light up and slightly warm the cave.

"Wow... this is really pretty," Neraiya said in awe, looking around the cave.

"Yeah..." Irvin looks around the cave and swims deeper into it. There were a few rubies embedded in the walls.

"Would it be dangerous to try and get the rubies?" Neraiya asked.

Irvin shrugs and swims toward one, reaching out to it.

"Oh wait, I have a knife in my bag. We could use that to pry it out in case if it's hot," Neraiya suggested, pulling out a dagger.

"Sounds great." Irvin says. His fingers brushed against it. It was pleasantly warm. He put his whole hand on it. "It's not hot, just warm."

Neraiya reached out and touched it. "It feels nice, too," She said.She stabbed her knife into the rock around the ruby and pried it out.

Aseha swam around in loops around the ship for an hour before settling down. It had been a while. She had gone hunting, sparring and still, she was still here, stagnated in her life, bogged down by the social hierarchy.

"That's huge." Irvin says. He moved down the tunnel a little farther to see if there were more gems.

"Wow, this tunnel is long," Neraiya commented.

"Yeah." Irvin caught a glint of something out of the corner of his eye and found it was a small crystal. Almost green, but closer to blue. There were small flecks of gold inside of it. "Have you ever seen anything like this one before?'' he asked Neraiya.

"Woah... that's really pretty," Neraiya said. "But no, I've never seen anything like this. Have you?"

"No." Irvin says softly. "It might be just something volcanic." Irvin got out his small knife and mimicked Neraiya's earlier action in prying the gem out.

"Nope. This is a first for me." Irvin says as the diamond thing popped out. He examined it from all directions, then slid it into a bag at his side.

"Oh," Neraiya responded. "Do you... live by yourself?"

"Yeah." Irvin says. "Do you?" He looked around the tunnel to see if anything else was there.

"Cool." Irvin swims a little farther down the tunnel and didn't notice the slight rise in water temperature.

It's getting a little hot in here, Neraiya thought as she followed Irvin. Should I tell him? Nah... it probably doesn't matter. No need to bother him,

Irvin notices more gems along the tunnel. He pries two of them out and continues along the tunnel. It was at least five degrees hotter before he noticed.

"Should we be worrying about the heat?" Neraiya asked. She liked the warmth of the water around the volcano, but this temperature was too hot for her liking.

"Probably, but I want to see what's at the end of the tunnel. After that, we can go." Irvin kept swimming.

Irvin sees bigger gems than before. The water was now as hot as a cool hot tub. "I'm going to pry out one of these, then let's go." He started trying to pry out a large blue one.

"Here, I'll help," Neraiya headed for a nearby purple-ish gem and started to pry it out.
