Hello and welcome to another #creaturesuggestion !

I wanted to make a creature based on a dragon-headed caterpillar. And then I was thinking: their legs are so goofy looking! What if I try to make it a menacing/intimidating looking creature, but with the silliest stumpy legs? And so, the Charaxa was born. The name Charaxa is based on the name of the subfamily of butterflies that these caterpillars are a part of.

I think this creature would be a good fit for spring or summer, because bugs love to appear during that time of year!

About Charaxa Eggs

The strange pattern on this egg makes it seem like it's staring right at you! The hard scales that wrap around the middle, offer protection for whatever monstrosity is growing inside...

About the Charaxa creature

The Charaxa is a special kind of caterpillar that never undergoes metamorphosis. Instead, Charaxas steadily develop and grow in their larva form. Newly-hatched Charaxas are exlusively herbivores. But as soon as their wings, mandibles and stinger are fully grown, their dietary preference switches to bugs. They are relentless hunters that fly fast and strike hard. If you're a tiny, tiny bug, that is. Charaxas may look scary up close, but their small size should ease almost anyone's fear. They are relatively harmless to anything bigger than a flower, and are smart enough stay out of the way when they are outmatched in size or strength. Be careful not to disturb a hunting Charaxa, though. If you happen to be standing in its way, it might sting you by accident!

And that's it! Any feedback would be amazing. Thanks for reading! ❤️

Some pings, hope that's okay!

@isis Omg your art skills are amazing!! It looks so awesome, but not just in a 'oh that's a cool creature' way, I'm absolutely in awe of your art. Wow. I love the patterning on the adult's wings, and the baby is downright adorable. Lemme have a little army of these babes!

Really didn't know what to expect. I like the description a lot! First I was like is it huge but then it's tiny, tiny. I like how it's like all nice and then as it grows it will start to hunt. Well done! ❤️ Not really a bug person but would like to see more of bugs here. This would be a great addition! ^^ @isis
